We were ripped off, the prices paid did not correspond to those on the menus. The food is frozen and indigestible. Dishonest people and to avoid! 160 pounds for 3 fish and chips and 1 moussaka. My wife settled and I only realized it afterwards. Obvious theft!

We went to the restaurant as it was the closest and pretty much only hot food place to the boat service. Take away menu was 12.50 for fish and chips, I didn’t think much of it and sat down. Ordered 5 portions ish and chips. Got three decent size fish and the last two were less than small. It tasted good and fresh so I didn’t mention anything till I got the bill of £95 just for 5 fish and chips. When I mentioned the fish size to the server he was quite rude and said there’s nothing he can do about it (how about picking the fair size fish before frying, especially if you are going to charge London city prices. Rude owner personally thought I was a bit crooked. But hey ho.. please be aware of getting overcharged.

Expect tourist prices because of where it is but its a very below par chip shop standard quality of food considering the high priced menu. Big portions at least and staff friendly enough but never again

What a smashing little restaurant, the staff are brilliant, making sure everything is fine, it's really friendly. Our food was gorgeous, prepared fresh, all my group enjoyed their choices. The atmosphere was nice too, the background music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy our conversation. Location wise, it's easy to get to, parking on the road outside or about 200mtrs away in the public car park, so it's easy to get to. The views are good too. In summary, great value, we will be back on our next visit to Scotland.

Nice location. Close to the shore of Loch Ness. Went for evening dinner in January. Food was OK. Maybe I didn't choose well. Might be worth another try. Would be a good spot for coffee. Probably very pleasant in Summer.

Quick friendly service , decent filling portion sizes perfect if you need to refule after a long hike. I had bolognase pizza and was thoroughly satisfied. Warm Baclava to finish, which was also up to scratch. Overall, we were all happy , nothing overly fancy. Just good food served with care :)

This is a tourist trap. The food was bad, and they didn't tell us that the card payment was not working until we had to pay. So, one of us had to go and get money from the ATM and pay the fee for that. I wonder why the card payment is not working...

On a cold rainy day, this restaurant is a life saver. A rest from the wet weather as well as serving good food. Tried the scampi and fish and chips and they were great. Price can be on a high side but it's something to be expected when it's a touristic part of town.

Quick service and huge portions in a great location ! I enjoyed Donner Kebab !

We were able to order food after waiting almost a quarter of an hour, everyone who sat at the table was helped but not those who stood in the queue for take away, those who worked there almost argued about who should do what. the staff looked at us angrily the whole time. Unfortunately we didn't have time to wait for the food because we had to catch the boat around Loch Ness, so we paid for the food and left it there and didn't pick it up on the way back either. Not recommended at all.

We had lunch at this place. Good thing we arrived before the rush of people. There’s only 2 guys working the tables. One of them was pretty rude. I saw him remove people from tables because they didn’t ask to be seated. The food was good. The toilet wasn’t very clean but it was better than the public one outside.

Large portions, friendly staff. There is a big choice on the menu. I had a vegetarian moussaka which was pretty good (if you like lots of cheese!).

Extremely slow service. Tried to claim credit card machine was not working just to avoid fees. Owner said they were out of an item and when we turned to leave, he claimed he had just enough for our order. Would not recommend.

Once and never again. The drinks came in dirty glasses, the question is whether the food was really fresh. There were burping noises coming from the kitchen (really!!) and if you saw the tables being cleaned you can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

The place, although clean, has terrible service. The arrogance of both the cashier and the waiter is quite annoying, since they pressure you to order things and on more than one occasion we had to observe how they threw dishes on the table to other diners. It's not a place I would recommend.

RUN AWAY. The only restaurant open after 7 p.m. on Fort Augustus already smells of confusion. We sit down, order our meals (2 doner kebabs, pizza and chicken wings). Served in less than 10 minutes, and we understand why... Poor quality food straight out of the freezer, the fries that accompanied the doner kebab were filthy. Highlight of the show, we are treated to a scam sketch for the bill. ATTENTION ⚠️ Be sure to check your bill carefully. When paying, the first waiter does not tell us any price, hands over the TPE with an additional £6 to the bill (because yes, we had calculated beforehand). After telling him that it was the wrong amount, he reduced the bill by £1. So we asked him to get us the paper bill, after which he lost his temper and threw the TPE at us as he left. The second server therefore comes to us apologizing and claiming “an error”… Addition ok, it doesn’t stop there… Two of us were sick during the night that followed, a good mess comparable to this restaurant.

Avoid, If we could have given 0 stars we would have done so. The kebab food is plentiful but the quality leaves something to be desired (fries and frozen pizza). BE CAREFUL, take a photo of the meal menu because when adding the bill the manager inflates the bill and gets angry if you ask for it. After printing the ticket and our calculation, the manager finally agreed to respect the announced prices.

A well-established scam, CHECK YOUR ADDITION!! The only restaurant in Fort William that has room and opens late, a tourist trap. The dishes are gigantic but the quality is not at all there, there were 4 of us, 2 of us were sick in the evening. When paying, I ask for the bill, they send me to the counter, ok. At the counter, they don't tell me the amount and they don't show me a note, they simply hand me the payment terminal. We had calculated in advance how much we would have to pay with the menu because we had seen a notice warning of this scam, and it didn't fail. I saw that the amount was not good, so I mentioned it. Unfriendly, he lowered the amount by £1 but it still wasn't good so I asked him to get me the bill, he then threw the terminal angrily and walked away. His brother then replaced it, telling us that there was a calculation error (well let’s see…) and finally made us pay the correct amount. In short, save yourself the trouble.

SCANDAL! Don’t stop, it’s guaranteed to give you a headache and a stomach ache! This restaurant survives because they are open late and the other restaurants are full! Barely seated, the waiter asks you if you have chosen and complains because you have only just taken the menu. Do you want a burger? There aren't any even though the storefront says there are. Do you want pizza? No problem, it's frozen. Do you want a kebab? No problem you have a very hearty dish but of poor quality with inedible fries. With a 5 minute service. And if there was only that... unfortunately we came up against some high class scammers. You are foreigners so they allow themselves to add more than £6 to your bill. Politely we asked for the bill and then strangely the waiter got angry, changed our amount but it did not correspond to the price of the card. We asked for the bill a second time which the waiter did not like. He threw the terminal on the edge of the register in front of us, got angry and left. Luckily another person came to cash us and he printed the ticket and we paid the exact amount!! Hallelujah finally someone honest. Conclusion, don't go there, it's a disaster if you don't have the choice, choose to eat candy, McDonald's or Burger King.

Welcome without a smile, No more possibility of eating on site. (After 9 p.m.) We still got takeaway, Not even a goodbye or a thank you.

When you come to see Loch Ness, get your food here. The portions are huge. I would recommend the chicken kebab, any of the baked potatoes (best I've had in a long time), veggies pizza and the chicken nuggets. You can order your food and then come back later to pick it up. Do yourself a favor and eat here!

Bad and expensive! We had fish & chips, the chips were soft and tasteless, boring salad, the fish was Ok but it was way too expensive, £20 is just too much. The staff were nice but there was a TV playing with loud Turkish music constantly, not very pleasant. The toilets are downright disgusting, smell of urine. Definitely won't come again.

Stopped here for lunch and the location is in the middle of town and close to everything touristy. The atmosphere was ok but the loud Turkish videos on the tv were a little annoying. The service was good. The food could have been better but the portions were huge. I had the calamari and it was overcooked and had a burnt fryer taste. I had the lamb and portions of it were dry but the rest was very good. It’s an ok place but not the best I have been too.

They take advantage of tourists, knowing that they will never come back again.

If all the places are full and this one always has room, there's a reason. *Food: it might not be bad (depends on what you choose), the problem is that the quality is fast food and the prices are restaurant-style, expensive ones. *Ambience: A little noisy and almost pleasant, except that your clothes will smell like fried food for a week. *Staff: the guy who prepares the food behind the counter seemed friendly and helpful, the waiter is terrible; overbearing and rude bordering on aggressive. *Hygiene and cleanliness... Better to leave your judgment aside and not venture out, especially into the bathrooms. . It's a shame because the place would also be nice and in a fairly strategic position. Luckily Fort Augustus offers several alternatives.

So they are "nice" but not at all professional, they seem like friends who are having a party and who stop by from time to time to serve you. They're probably trying to look casual but it's not working. They played French music... RAP, great! We're going to another country to listen to this... (YouTube with the ad!) The decoration could be good but nothing is thought through and everything seems dusty, not to mention the bottles, almost thrown into the fridge. The soup was good. The bread, pizza and fried nuggets appear to be frozen, really not delicious. We asked for water, we were served a glass each (no carafe). And to top it all off, he takes out the ticket for us to pay and tells us to add more because the service is not included!

People, please go somewhere else! Overpriced and extremely bad fast food. It wants to be a restaurant, but it's at best a bad snack bar. You get ripped off here (they cheekily negotiate tips). Prices are completely unreasonable and unfair. This place doesn't really deserve a star!

I’ve rarely had such a strange time. The staff welcomed us warmly. We then had to wait quite a long time to give our orders. When he finally came, our waiter was taking his time joking around, which could have been pleasant if we hadn’t waited so long already. The kebabs were not kebabs, just piles of meat with two sad tiny pieces of pitta bread on the side; the chips were soggy and tasted like sour oil; my aunt almost choked herself to death because her plate was dusted in cayenne pepper (for a smoked salmon salad, which prompts the question: why?); the cappuccinos were straight up bad. Overall the prices were way too high for what it was. The icing on the cake was the waiter trying to get us to add 10% to the total bill because apparently they charge this for tables of more than 6 people. He backed off when he realised we wouldn’t let that slide easily. It suddenly became up to us to add that amount as a tip “if we were happy”. We were not so we didn’t. If you have to go there, stick to the fried stuff and the grilled meats. You won’t be able to avoid the greasy chips if you do that, but at some point decisions have to be made. Also, our waiter was a bit handsy. Beware.

Poorly managed place. It's overpriced. The food is not bad. The waiter is trying hard to be nice, however, there is something wrong with him, he is being too nice in an awkward way if you know what I mean, like if he was pretending so, or if he is like over doing that !! Insincere smile !! It felt uncomfortable. Not to mention the embarrassing way that they ask for a tip !! They call it a service tax 20% !! They will tell only if you ask for an invoice! Normally, I leave a generous tip when I like the service, but not in such an abusive way !!! I was courageous enough to say No to him, I Don't want to leave a tip !! The only advantage is the location.

Tourist from The United States. I entered with my family this evening and was treated amazingly by the owner of the establishment. I believe his name was Ken. My sister is special needs and wheelchair-bound and he was able to make sure she had enough room to comfortably eat as well as treating her to a dessert and apple juice complimentary! A lot of the reviews are complaining about a service charge and it being a “tourist trap”. Coming from the USA it is very common to tip 20% or more and a lot of the service charge reviews should be rethought. Amazing experience and also hands down the best food we have had in Scotland or Ireland.

The staffs were rude and unprofessional. We ordered three large size takeaways but discovered that we were given regular sizes instead. Despite ordering a coffee to enjoy there, we weren’t allowed to sit inside. Instead, they asked us to wait outside, promising to bring the food to us, but no one came even after half an hour. When we inquired, we found that the food had been ready all along. Additionally, the coffee was of poor quality, with more water than coffee, and it was lukewarm. The staff lacked basic etiquette and displayed a complete lack of concern for customer service. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience. WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE RATINGS !

Despite the negative reviews here, I think this place was quite good. Maybe if you order the traditional food and expect great traditional Scottish food you'll be disappointed but if you order other stuff like we did, you'll love it. I got the Special of the day - Grilled Sea Bass. This was an amazing alternative to the damn fish and chips we see everywhere. The sea bass was moist and tender, and it was on a bed of roasted vegetables, which we desperately craved after many days of just fried food. We also got the Turkish salad which was a very refreshing mix of cucumber, dill, tomato and onions. Though it was a bit too liquidy, the overall taste was great bc of its tanginess and freshness. We also got the BBQ ribs which also had great flavor.

The manager here is the Middle East’s answer to Basil Fawlty - a fawning, insincere smile complemented by dismissive, passive-aggressive behaviour that is in no way compensated for by the quality of the food delivered. The final insult is the pressure to leave a tip for the middling quality food and complete lack of customer service. The ONLY thing that permits this place to survive is its fortunate location, which captures the unwary stranger. Visit only if you would like to have an object lesson in how NOT to run an eatery.

I do not recommend it in any case. It's not just the price, which is much more expensive than usual in the area, but they add an extra 20% for the service, without warning. The food is pitiful for the price you pay... almost anywhere you eat better and the service is slow and clueless. All this wouldn't bother me so much if they were at least upfront and warned about that extra 20%. They take advantage of tourism and the fact that no one is going to return again

Great service and friendly owners! There were only two people working and the restaurant was full, but everything was coming out smoothly! We were running a bit late on time (our fault for poor planning, not their's) so we asked them to bring to-go boxes out with our food immediately. They did just that and even added in free cans of pop! The whole time they were apologizing even though it was not their fault at all! Food was also great! Very convenient location as well, right by the look out.

Since we were running late, we asked the servers if they could possibly box our orders so we could make it back to our bus in time. Not only did they ensure we made it out in time, they graciously threw in free drinks on top of their incredible service. Both of the servers were working incredibly hard from the time we arrived until the time we left. Thank you!

Food average but our experience was not good due to a server who I can only describe as half cut (near drunk) he was manic to say the least and took our order about 3 times and kept apologizing for coming back to us then brought wrong drinks to us too I probably would give it a miss if I'm in the area again.

Overpriced food - we did not get the receipt for what we ate and left the place with the feeling that we paid way too much: +50 pounds for 2 fish and chips, 2 glasses of coca cola (not a full can).

My family of four had lunch at Moorings. The prawn sandwich had some sort of small prawns made into a liquidish egg/prawn salad in the middle. It was bland and suspiciously liquid-ey. The chicken kebab dish had the kebabs feeling a bit rubbery and the chips weren’t fried properly. The lentil soup tasted like it came out of a can or a box. The margherita pizza was a-okay, but a bit too cheesy. We also tried to order the pakoras from the takeaway menu but got a stern “Sorry, not now!” response. All in all, avoid the food if you can. That’s a shame because the ambience / environment of the place is quite nice!
