We attended the restaurant for dinner. The only reason we chose this place for dinner was the two vegetarian options - both of which sounded lovely. Upon arrival we were told that one of ten two options was unavailable. It was the tofu dish. Not sure why it was unavailable given the shelf life of tofu… Was left with the sweet potato dish. It arrived and was greeted with four slices of pumpkin, a dash of cream and a sprinkling of quinoa…. For £19.

Beautiful setting by the loch but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Called in for a coffee and a snack, my partner ordered a tuna sandwich and I ordered a scone, soggy sandwich and the scones were from the supermarket across the road and zapped in the microwave Our coffee arrived after we’d finished eating our food. Give this one a miss and drive up the road to Craft & Things, you won’t be disappointed.

We thought we would get away for a few days and thought to stay at the hotel we first stayed at, 19 years ago. The hotel had the 3for2 night offer, where we prepaid a family room with the dog supplement (£20/night!) The rooms need refreshed but the biggest let down was not being able to eat in the restaurant. I initially asked to eat outside as we have a dog but was told they did not serve outside and equally we weren’t allowed the dog inside. The website details being pet friendly and the ability to eat ‘alfresco’ style, even in showing the tables sitting on the waters edge, so do not believe the website!!! Also on the third floor (you need to walk through the restaurant with the dog to get outside!), our door rattles when other patrons walk past. Was looking for a lovely juicy steak tonight but on reading the reviews, we are glad and we just went to the coop tonight 🙄 The hotel is definitely not the same, doesn’t not meet Crief hydro group standards but more importantly they are definitely not pet friendly! Lastly, the apparent high speed wifi connection is terrible, roll on breakfast!

The restaurant is overpriced massively. We ordered mussels for main (£20). No chips, no bread these were £5 extra each for tiny portions. The bread was three tiny slices of sourdough with oil and butter…. that you don’t need to mop up the mussel juice. People on the next table ordered sole. It came with no veg, no chips…. They had to get that whilst the fish was getting cold. Be warned, check the menu carefully everything is an extra, resulting in a huge bill.

Food is too overpriced for its bad quality and lack of imagination. We have ordered a sharing plate of camembert cheese for two for £20 as a starter, and it was accompanied by breadsticks, bread, onion chutney, and a sad looking salad on the side. We also took a ham hock terrine to try something different. The terrine was nice but as well was accompanied by the same sad looking salad and 2 dollops of sauce, which was bland. For the main course, you'd expect that a £30 steak would be at least a 10oz steak, but it was 8oz. The rest of the options on the menu didn't really piqued my interest as it all looked really unappetising on paper. The steak was undercooked, and the initial blue sauce I ordered tasted like it was made without the cheese itself. The peppercorn sauce, which was one of the alternatives, was also lacking in flavour. It was accompanied by soft fries and, again, the SAD salad. The chicken milenese was so dry bland. Overall, for a £135 bill at the end, I would honestly say it's better if you just stay at home and order a takeaway. Or if you want a nice place to eat, then steer clear from this restaurant as it's just here to take your money and leave you with an unsatisfactory experience.

This represented the most expensive evening in Scotland thus far in terms of food, with a total cost of £242 for four people. It was also the least satisfactory dining experience. The spinach served with the steak was found to be excessively salty. The fish ordered by my wife arrived 15 minutes late, with just an apoligize. The staff demonstrated a lack of training and preparedness, which led to an inappropriate response, namely none. (I am permitted to comment on this because I am professionally involved in similar situations.) The beer I ordered, which I did not enjoy due to a lack of expertise, was replaced with a Chianti after approximately half an hour, but it was also slightly too warm. It is not the responsibility of the restaurant to regulate the behaviour of its patrons. For example, it is not the restaurant's fault that guests wrap their bare feet in a towel at the next table nearby or that others squeeze their potatoes in paper napkins before eating them. The location is idyllic, situated in close proximity to the water's edge. However, the presence of a sticky tablecloth has detracted from the ambience. Based on our experience, we are unable to recommend this restaurant and have no intention of returning.

We stayed here as a group of 15 for the MG Owners Club Northern Ireland. The rooms were modern & very good - comfy beds, good bathrooms with incredible loch views. We had group meal, which everyone enjoyed. A special shout to David, the restaurant Manager who ensured everything was excellent. The bar has good choice of whiskeys & wine - what more do you want! The breakfast was good, with fresh fruit salad & hot choices to suit all. Car parking was excellent, which is essential for classic cars. A lovely walk in front of the hotel with stunning views - sets you up for the day. All in all, I would highly recommend Isles of Glencoe Hotel

Bit mixed: the view is undeniably epic, and the trio of fish dish was excellent. The side of parmesan truffle chips was more potato than chiplike, and at £4 a bowl I would expect better. My dining companion's superfood salad was middling rather than inspired. Overall the menu is overpriced, as is the hotel, but pleasant enough. This is the sort of place people who don't care about money go to when they are making do... for those of us who don't usually plonk £30 on a main probably want more quality cooking when we do go for it.

I booked the restaurant for 6pm on the 14th March as my partner and I had a wedding the next day and were travelling with our 10 month old baby and my partner's parents. The menu looked great and catered for the vegetarian, pescatarian and carnivores in our party. We arrived at reception and spoke to the lovely receptionist (Tahmina I believe her name was) who kindly told us our booking was there, and we could leave the pram in the corner of the lobby as we requested. She was so kind and welcoming and advised us to go through where the staff would greet us. My partner's father went ahead and I followed behind noticing an issue as I overheard the waitress saying she couldn't see our booking. As my partner's father is elderly I wondered if the name provided had been incorrect. I explained that the booking was under my surname and said to the waitress the booking was in the system for our 6pm slot when we checked in at reception, so it might be worth speaking to her colleague there. I was met by a tirade of aggression, which I have never seen or been exposed to. I was asked to view her system "you can check yourself the booking isn't there". I explained I had booked it two days ago and again, that her colleague had seen our booking when we had checked in at reception. (Bear in mind the restaurant was not busy) Eventually the waitress marched us over to a small table of four and told us (very aggressively and angrily) that we would need to wait whilst she put cutlery on the table. With a 10 month old, this was even more challenging and the whole feel and excitement of the meal and our family break had substantially reduced. I was feeling stressed as I could see that there wasn't enough room for us all plus our little boy and a high chair, when there were large tables available nearby. After sitting down, the waitress came over again angrily stating "the reason I couldn't find your booking was because you said 4 people not 5". I calmly explained I had not said the booking was for 4 people, I had said the name it was booked under and the time. She responded that "someone had said 4 people" which was a bizarre thing to fixate on, especially as most bookings are retrievable by name. I told her that we had been made to feel very unwelcome by her manner. At this stage I do regret not walking out, but with a hungry little boy and in a remote location we had no other options. The food itself was good although pretty expensive, and the waitress did warm up eventually and offered our little boy a children's activity pack which was nice. However for me the whole evening had been ruined. It was stressful and so cramped at the table (on an evening that was clearly not fully booked) The gentleman who served the food was kind and efficient though but we still left feeling pretty low about the whole thing. Tahmina and the waiter who served the food are the reason for two stars, it would have been one star without them. And to my horror, when we got to our air bnb and I looked at the receipt, a 10% discretionary gratuity was put on without informing us. After the challenges of this evening on what should have been a happy and relaxed night, I was really disappointed that this was deemed an appropriate thing to do. I will be making a formal complaint when I have the time and energy as I would hate for any family to feel as unwelcome as we did. Having working in the industry for many years, I do appreciate times can be tough and customers can be difficult but this behaviour and treatment we received was horrifying especially as it was completely uncalled for and ruined what should have been a special evening.

Awful restaurant. Food was disgusting. Kids menu consisted of frozen chicken dippers, scampi - I asked if this was frozen and was told no - it definitely was. My son has a milk allergy and was told the scampi would be fine for him without tartare sauce, it still came with the tartare sauce and I’m not sure she or the kitchen actually bothered to check as he ended up with an upset stomach. Kids tomato soup starter had a handful of pepper dumped on top, not exactly suitable for a 1 year old. Beef burger was vile. Couldn’t eat it. Nobody asked if food was ok, even though when he cleared the plates mine was clearly barely touched. Then came with the bill, waited till we’d paid then said “was everything ok yeah” and couldn’t have been less interested when the answer was “no it was horrible.” £18 for an inedible burger and my 1 year old most likely given his allergen. AVOID.

Visited this restaurant for a late lunch. No patrons or staff in the restaurant on arrival. Waited around 10 mins at hotel reception but the girl was busy attending to a couple checking into their room. Wandered again into the restaurant, heard voices and got seated for lunch eventually. Limited menu however the fish and chips was excellent! Mushy buttered peas were delicious and a small side salad was nice £18 each and 2 soft drinks, total around £43. Asked for the bill from a very pleasant waiter however 15/20 mins later no bill, no sign of any staff …. again. Located another receptionist who was eating at the reception desk when a server appeared. CHECK YOUR BILL ! The bill had a discretionary gratuity added of 10% , we asked to have it removed. We will decide what size of tip to leave and who will get it , not the hotel . The hotel externally looked good, once inside it needed work - wrinkled carpets, tape holding the carpet down. Not a good look so not so sure about staying there. Would visit again for the food not for the service .

Particularly for the price, I was disappointed in the experience at this hotel. The restaurant, as others have mentioned, is overpriced. The food is good but not great. The tables are frequently still dirty and sticky from prior guests. Housekeeping didn’t make it around until we were returning from your day out. The breakfast buffet is large but not particularly good either. Someone gave a very accurate description of the egg prep as being insulting to the chickens who made them - this is true! There are some basic things I think this hotel is missing which would make all the difference. Noise at night was loud - lots of running and yelling in the halls then stomping above. The location is picturesque and there is a short walk around the hotel along the water that is really worth strolling after dinner one night. Our room had a great view and was very clean on arrival.

We visited the restaurant (not as guests of the hotel). We chose to make a reservation for dinner and were shown to our table quickly on arrival. The restaurant had made provisions for social distancing between tables, however as a result, the room felt significantly lacking and hollow in comparison the other part of the restaurant in the conservatory. We ordered the haggis gnocci for starters which was nice, and both the meat & fish main courses we ordered were very delicious and well presented. The overall service was quick and friendly. There is a nice view onto the loch from the restaurant, if you are lucky to get a table near the windows.

We've just returned from a really memorable holiday in the Glencoe area. Hotel was good- easy to find, decent breakfast, nice rooms and comfy beds. Staff v helpful. Evening meal was nice enough but a bit pricey. Lots of sanitiser, one way system round the reception and gloves/masks at brekkie with lots of the food cling-filmed and portioned up already. Gloves supplied. Met lots of lovely families while standing on the little pier outside the hotel. Lots of people wild swimming (mainly in wetsuits with PFD) and paddle boarding in/on the Loch. Giant connect 4 and Jenga which the kids loved. Hairdryer and iron on request. Bunk beds had these cool little reading lights for each bunk. Internet fine on the ipad but because it wants you to reconnect each day, my laptop didn't want to play ball and I couldn't seem to get it online. Not sure why.Minor gripes? Could have done with more storage space/hanging space (we were staying longer than most). I would probably add a pasta dish onto the evening menu- choice was maybe a bit limited. The weather was amazing so the rooms were on the warmer side (which I'm sure is v helpful most of the time, just not when it's 24 degrees... ). Places to visit- we went to these incredible beaches at Morar/Camus Daragh with crystal clear seas and white (silver) sand. Up the Nevis range cable car at Fort WIlliam, and of course walks up and around Glencoe.

This hotel is in a perfect location, you could sit outside or by the window all day. So tranquil. The staff would do anything for you, so friendly and helpful. On the time I was there last, it was just open after the lockdown and we felt so safe, the safety measures were on point, I was a little worried going at first but was put at ease. The rooms were amazing. They were big and spacious, the bathroom was great for me as I am a wheelchair user. So clean. I even got a ramp as there was a little bump from the patio doors - outside. The staff would honestly help you with anything.I also loved the gin and whisky tasting nights. Me and my Food was delicious. My parents and I want to come back later this year.

Great food, excellent staff and considering the world we are living exceptionally welcoming. After being turned away from a number of places due to Covid restrictions the Isles of Glencoe could not of been more welcoming. Friendly and funny staff, delicious food and a wide selection of drinks. Make sure you pay it a visit.

My mum bought me a 2 night stay here for my birthday on my hotel break.com which I highly recommended as you get a package deal. Postivies - staff gave me a card and bottle of wine for my birthday which was lovely, beautiful view from room, nice staff, food was tasty and the location was perfect.Negatives - terrible smell of dampness on our level (we were in 211) the smell was really potent and could even smell it in the room.Pool and jacuzzi was really cold and the beds were rock solid, I ended up with a sore back and shoulder. We had a good time nonetheless.

Great trip away for two nights in Glencoe. Beautiful sights of Scotland with a beautiful location for our own little base. Brilliant location for road tripping and scenic walks. In addition, our stay was made even more special by the excellent restaurant staff, in particular, Roman. He made our dinner and breakfast special. Making sure my partner and myself were very comfortable and got everything we asked for. (Even my fussy food orders) Roman was also brilliant in his local knowledge in recommending activities for us to do during the day. Roman's wide knowledge of gins also had us trying out some we never would have tried. We would love to return one day!

This hotel has an amazing situation on the edge of the loch with stunning vista’s and is well located for lots of local attractions. It is however let down by a pretty mediocre restaurant and very indifferent staff. Struggling in and out with heavy suitcases, the staff watched with an air of mild interest whilst making no offer to assist (both arriving and leaving) and as there is no lift I thought they might offer to help the nine year old, they didn’t. The waiting staff told us the food in restaurant is pre cooked and therefore cannot be changed though they certainly charge as if it was fresh (go down the road to the pub for a much better meal). I could go on but I think the point is made however I did see my first ever wild otter in the loch whilst having breakfast so well done for arranging that! There are better options locally and I would seriously consider them.

Just returned from the Isle of Glencoe hotel in Balacullish. Had a great stay in a really nice hotel. Nice helpful staff( apart from one) .Situated right on the shoreline of Loch Leven with a picturesque view it was really relaxing to take a nice walk and then relax in the hotels pool and Jacuzzi. The food was really nice with a buffet breakfast and nice evening meal menu that changed once during our two night stay. The view from all or most of the rooms appear to face the loch, so waking up and looking out of the window whatever the weather is a pleasure and great way to start the day.Would really recommend the hotel and intend returning one day. Couldn't help thinking we had discovered a hidden gem with a very reasonable price for what was delivered.

We stopped off here during our travels around the Glencoe area and I'm glad we did. We weren't here long but the food was amazing. Despite a bit of a wait to get a table even though it was really quiet we persevered and it was worth it. I had the Mull cheddar cheese and red onion chutney sandwich, my wife had the mussels and my daughter had sausages in Yorkshire pudding and everyone loved it.

We stopped for lunch on our drive form Glasgow to the Isle of Skye. The hotel had a lovely dining room in a conservatory over looking the loch. We were greeted, after a little bit of a wait, by a less than interested waiter, who told us "to take a seat by the window", it had a great view but we had to find our own way there. After an awkward wait we finally were given menus.

I had a really hard time getting 'into' the feel of being in Scotland, even after having been through Edinburgh, Stirling, and Oban. The night we spent at the Isles of Glencoe in the rugged mountains on the shore of Loch Leven was AMAZING! The scenery of course was breathtaking, and just after dinner looking over the loch, a young bagpiper came in from a nearby village to play and I finally felt like I was in Scotland! We reserved a suite with a king bed and separate bunk room for our 14 and 12 year old boys, and it was PERFECT after having spend several very cramped nights in smaller bed and breakfasts. Our room had a patio on the ground floor that walked right out onto the loch's edge. The Sea Xplorer base is right next door and very convenient for a tour of the loch (which I highly suggest). The pool area at the hotel is fabulous and the on-site restaurant has good food. There is a small co-op in the village where you can get necessities, and one sandwich/gift shop that we noticed. The only bar we saw in the village was closed around 8pm, but the hotel has a very well stocked bar. I wish we could have stayed several more nights!

We stayed here as part of the West Highland Way. We took the weekend off and took a bus from bridge of Orchy in the drenching rain. The hotel is right on the lake and our lake view room had 2 large slanted windows that hypnotize you. We sat and stared at the view most of the weekend, especially since it rained continuously. The hotel has a nice lobby and restaurant. The breakfast is buffet and plentiful. The staff were very cordial and accommodating. There is a walk around an old slate quarry nearby which we really enjoyed. The indoor pool of the hotel was excellent. On Sunday we took a taxi back to the start of the path.

Don’t come here unless you are a hotel guest! We went to the empty restaurant for dinner at 17:45 only to be told that it’s only open for guests. There wasn’t anybody around.

Booked a table for 6 o’clock on a Saturday, booking was confirmed everything seemed okay. On Saturday noticed it said they were closed on Saturday so phoned up and were told they were closed.. we had not been informed and our special occasion was ruined as couldn’t get booked in anywhere else on such short notice. Very disappointed.

Don't normally do this as I read far too many negative reviews and, tbh, wonder why some folk bother. I would stay and eat here again in a heartbeat. Excellent food, the scrambled eggs is probably the best I've ever had (& I've had plenty), but the overall experience of staying at eating at LT is beyond words.
