The Hustle in Newcastle upon Tyne

One of the good pub/club in Newcastle upon Tyne. Located in the centre of the city. Easily accessible and a good atmosphere.

Clearly situated by the Gate, this is mainly a drinking venue (and used to be a nightclub). Still - served our purpose with it's location today. Pre-ordered food. Then we turned up and they said the machine wasn't working, so we had to re-order everything. The till couldn't take cards - so the only way to order was via the app, which you had to register first - quite an unnecessary faff. Still onto the food and drinks: Firstly the positive - my starter of pork belly was absolutely lovely and I was really looking forward to the mains. However, we were disappointed. The burger was well-overdone and very thin (macdonalds thin), unseasoned, dry and tasteless. I had to add mayo and ketchup! Shocking. The wedges were also un-seasoned and the mushy peas really not great. The pizza was overdone and a bit bland too. Onto the drinks. 3 cocktails we tried - and I'm not sure there was any alcohol in them. Just a whole lot of poorly crushed ice and fruit flavourings. We asked for a tonic and were served - a bottle of tonic. Had to ask for a glass. No ice, no lemon etc. Seeing the pictures of the cocktails in the website and here I was expecting to be 'wowed'. Really wasn't. Not sure the staff were hired for their waiting ability. Saw them all sitting having drinks with friends/colleagues when we left. Really don't go here for food. Or decent drinks.

Lovely mid week meal out with my mam and daughter. Good choice on menu, served by Gracie who was warm and welcoming.. kids ate free in easter half term, bonus. Well worth a visit!

We done bottomless brunch on Easter Sunday. Our server was Ruby, she was a very quick server and such a lovely girl! She made our visit!

Walked in, smelt like sewage. Every table was reserved, walked back out. The bouncer was nice and held the door open though...

Went to pop icons bottomless brunch hosted by Lucy Phurr and Plastiq, they were brill, so funny! The food was good and the staff were all lovely and great for making sure we weren’t low on drinks, would def recommend!

fine! probably better later on and if you are already drunk, staff were lovely but the cocktails were only ok. food was also fine. i imagine it is much better as a late night bar vibe

Attended a works party here, staff were fab lovely and friendly considering how busy it was, great drinks menu 2 4 1 cocktails till 9 as well.

A good bar to visit for a few drinks with friends 😊 The food is so-so, I would recommend only going for drinks. Drink prices are standard for Newcastle but they do have a 2 for £12 deal on cocktails before 9pm (2 for £10 on Thursdays).

Got the botemless brunch was amazing drinks and options 10/10 food was a bit dry and messed up the order also had 4 waiters come over in the space of 5 minutes however the drinks u couldn’t fault them the staff was so lovely would come again

Booked bottomless brunch for my sisters 30th. Could not fault our host Megan absolutely amazing from start to end! Food was lovely and drinks never stopped flowing. It was also match day so was busy. Will definitely be back to do it again. 100% faultless. Thank you so much from all of us❤️❤️❤️.

WOW. So pleased the door staff spoke to us about the menu , fabulous cocktails and invited us in . The service was perfect , stunning food and lovely staff . Everything was spot on. Thank you so much .

Was very impressed with The Hustle today when my daughter and I went in for lunch. Returned tonight for drinks and the bar lady was spraying other members of staff with sanitizers which is used for cleaning tables and counter. But she was spraying it everywhere behind the bar, in front of customers and we found it completely inappropriate. All over glasses and products.

Great decor and lovely staff , can get busy on match days . We have visited a few times during the day and I must say the food is a little inconsistent . Our first visit the food was amazing and we totally over ordered. The second we went at a very quite time and one of our dishes was so salty I was unable to eat it , our third visit again was on a very quiet day my go to pizza was burnt which was a shame as my previous two visits it was amazing . The menu is a little uninspiring at first glance but priced OK. My sons favourite is the bang bang squid and mine usually the mushroom pizza . I will go back in the hope that the chefs can get to grasp with consistency weather its quiet or not as when the food is good its great but when it's not its very disappointing. Its a huge venue with booth seating at the back and funky decor .the ladies toilets are nice and clean and well kept I haven't had an evening visit but with a well stayed back bar it looks like there would be something for everyone .

I've dined in few times and the food was always excellent . Great service as well .

Fab place for a business breakfast gathering... All the rooms look amazing and surely a great place to entertain in!

Bouncer with the slick back hair is a right tosser needs to appreciate the job he’s got. No need to to be pushing people over trying to show he is a big man when it’s all he can get

Me and my friend stopped in here for a pre-theatre meal and had what is up there as one of the best meals We have ever had on Thursday evening (13th). The food was delicious, even the side dishes that came on the plates were delicious and the portions were a great size for the affordable price you pay! All the cocktails we had were amazing - they even gave us each a free cocktail as they were trialling some new recipes which made our night even more special! The two waitress/bar staff couldn’t have been lovelier! They were patient with us whilst deciding what to order. Friendly and chatty when checking in with us and attentive when offering to clear plates and seeing if we wanted more drinks! Both the girls were a credit to your company and we will 100% be back as soon as we can!

A few of us popped in on a Thursday about 5.30 expecting a disco lounge bar but unfortunately no sign of any disco music and paying £5 a pint we didn't stay for a 2nd one
