We had a delicious Sunday roast, the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Attentive staff who were very helpful regarding a food allergy. Reasonably priced and portion size generous, will definitely return, thank you to everyone 😊

Excellent Sunday roast with friends last week. Welcomed by Jackie and Ellie, so friendly, efficient, professional and nothing seemed too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere in the pub and service outstanding. Had lovely squid to start with cooked to perfection and the Sunday roast dinners were so nice and plentiful, nice variety of vegetables and ordered cauliflower cheese extra as well, nice one with bacon on it. The Pino Grigio wine was lovely too and good value. Two of my friends had the deserts and said they were excellent. Such a great country pub, old fashioned, friendly with a warm atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back for Sunday lunch again and would definitely recommend. Thank you Jackie and Ellie.

Camping in Canterbury for weekend and decided to visit here for dinner as TA Reviews were good. Upon arrival there was ample parking to be found. We entered the pub and were greeted by Ellie who was very bubbly and approachable. She showed us to the table and took our drinks order. She allowed us plenty of time to mull over the food choice and explained the specials to us as well as checking if we could deviate from the listed choices slightly. The time between courses was good. Not too long wait but certainly not rushed. Food was really good and reasonably priced too. £75 per couple for a 3 course meal and drinks. Ellie went out of her way to sit and chat with us and have some banter which was really good to experience, which made us feel like humans and not just a passing group. We found this local pub as we were staying locally to get married, and we wanted a local business for the evening before our wedding. We spoke to Jacqueline on the phone, browsed the menus, checked they could accommodate vegans, a coeliac, and children… and they could not do enough. We were a large group of 23, they gave us an area to ourselves and decorated as well as writing us a congratulatory card for our wedding day. On arrival we received a warm welcome and everything was so well organised, multiple tabs set up and managed smoothly. The food was fresh, hot, of excellent quality, and speedy, polite, helpful service! Which is no mean feat for a group that size. Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome! We will be back for anniversaries to come

Beautiful food and good old school pub with lovely staff. we come a couple of times a month and it’s always consistent and lovely.

We'd been for a walk on the Sunday and called in for a drink afterwards. We asked if they were still serving food. They were very busy but managed to fit us in. We were very grateful and thoroughly enjoyed our meal!!!

My husband and I had a roast dinner and everything was perfectly cooked. Good portion sizes. We also ordered the cauliflower cheese, which a generous portion and very tasty. One of the best roasts we have had in a while and really good value for money.

I have the pleasure of calling this pub my local and always enjoy my visits. We held my Father's wake at the pub yesterday. My family and I cannot thank all of the staff enough for their amazing service. All of them went over and above to make our friends and family feel welcome. The day will live long in the memory. We go on a regular (every fortnight) basis for Sunday Lunch and take the dog. He is usually welcomed with a handful of biscuits and a bowl of water. We are welcomed almost like old friends. The food is always -without exception -lovely. It is always hot as is the plate and it mostly stays hot to the end. More to the point all the vegetables are cooked from fresh, never frozen. Another good thing is the fact that they do small portions for small eaters i.e.senior citizens, but the portions are always enough. We do try other places on the alternate Sundays but this is by far the best so am starting to wonder why we dont go there every week.

Always made to feel really welcome. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and fantastic traditional pub food at a reasonable price. Beautiful setting too.

Beer good staff very nice luvly log burner

It's our local pub and since having children ourselves, we rarely go out. We went for food and drinks on a Friday evening because my Dad was visiting from Spain. The atmosphere is on a traditional cosy British pub. The food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The young girl Emily waiting on our table was a credit to the pub. My Dad asked her many questions about the wine and asked how hot the chilli was. She didn't know the answers but she found out and did not mind at all. Often you see young staff being inattentive, checking their phones and doing the minimum required. Emily, Bradley and Ellie were all young and very hard working. Nothing was too much effort and they made the night perfect for us. Thank you! We will make more effort to use this local pub after this experience. Use your local pub or you might lose it!!!

Myself and Partner absolutely love the Huntsman! And definitely recommend a visit! Great Hospitality 😃 Everyone is welcoming, friendly and the Gorgeous food is a big bonus! The Sunday Roast is definitely a must! Plus not forgetting such Dog Friendly Pub! 🐕

I’m so sorry to say the Steak and Ale Pie wasn’t good. I think the recipe has changed from our last visit. Too herby for our liking, and overall just not as we remember it which was amazing.

Hi, I am a pub and restaurant food reveiwer. Always fair and honest opinions given. I visited your pub for lunch, wasn't greeted with great customer service, but that did seem to improve as the lunch went on. Large portions of food, well presented and reasonably priced. Food was edible but did seem as if some of it had been microwaved. Overall a nice little country side pub, situated in a small and quiet town.

I live so close, I can see the pub from my window - but don’t get to visit as often as I’d like. Since the new owners took a few years ago over I’ve noticed such a positive change in the pub and it’s wonderful to see! The owners are so pleasant, kind and welcoming and the venue is always busy (in a good way) every chance I get to stop by. We’ve had a few meals and they’ve always been exceptional value for money with great service. To the landlady - thank you for breathing life back into our village, your warm hospitality and keep up the good work!

I took my Sisters to this Wonderful Pub , Foodie's restaurant meals Exciting, Excellent experience I must say. Doggie Friendly, Staff so Friendly too. The Food special menu is Home Cooked food to Top Restaurant Style Cuisine. A must go. Not , over the top on your bill, come any event of the day. Special Events and Activities around the Week. A real pleasure and Pleasure to be in such a pleasant place. Bromfield is still quite Rural and a most special area to walking that Doggie. A must see experience...👍

Unfortunately we have had a terrible experience of this pub on a number of occasions. They have a children’s menu and we have been many times with our kids who are very well behaved. They accept children in there but we always feel unwelcome and the kids are always being told off. Never once have we had any complaints from anyone actually the opposite other customers around us have complimented us on how well our children behave. The owner has approached our children and told them off but never approached the parents or adults in our group. Once we paid our £420 bill they then approach us with awful accusations against the adults and that the children have been chaotic, this was also in front of the children rather than being pulled aside. I feel that this was an awful Experience and a horrible experience for the children to hear these awful accusations against them and the adults. It is clear to see that kids are not welcome at all even well behaved ones and felt uncomfortable on many occasions, we put this aside being our local restaurant and pub. Not accommodating at all. The staff are amazing but this is purely the owners who wish to act in this manner and handle situations in a very bad way.

The Huntsman and Horn did an absolutely beautiful buffet for my mother's wake yesterday. The food was delicious and well presented and the cakes were sensational it was a lovely send off for my wonderful mum. Thank you.

This pub/restaurant is lovely . The staff are amazing and compliments to the chef.. we love coming every Monday evening to the pub quiz, which is a brilliant atmosphere. I highly recommend anyone to visit. If just for a cosy drink by the fire or a lovely home cooked meal.

A delightfully friendly and charming country pub, run by a lovely, hardworking team. The veggie/vegan Sunday lunches are exceptionally delicious, and certainly not an after thought to the main meaty event! Having said that, my meat eating buddies were extremely happy with their Sunday lunches too!

Excellent food service drinks and quiz

I was advised by a work colleague that when in Herne Bay, pop in a try the food at the Huntsman & Horn, you wont be disappointed and we wasnt. Sam and his staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed. This is a dog friendly pub which appeals to me. We decided to stay for the Sunday roast. The food was plentiful and delicious and the presentation was excellent. Staff were attentive and were always available for further requests. I was pleasantly surprised by the final bill too. A 56 mile trip to try the Huntsman but absolutely worth it. I will definitely come here again and cant recommend it enough. Thank you Sam and his staff

The welcoming staff at the Huntsman & Horn hosted my Fathers Wake today and did so brilliantly . The buffet was delicious and the bar staff very accommodating . Absolutely recommend this pub

Good local pub with food. If you have a birthday or something to celebrate, you can have a room to yourself and your friends (for free) as long as you eat and drink.

Excellent lunch, freshly made baguette and sandwiches, and well kept draught beer (Timothy Taylor’s Landlord). Really nice pub with great staff that make you and your dog feel so very welcome. Really good place to relax next to the pond at Broomfield.

I visit the Huntsman and Horn regularly, absolutely fabulous and attentive staff - couldn’t ask for any better. They show a good attention to detail, are always friendly and chatty, and Lindsay and Sam are two of the most wonderful people you could ever meet. I would recommend this pub, their staff and their food to anyone visiting the area. 10/10 always 👏🏼

I attended a wake here this week and was very disappointed in a number of aspects, 1. The pub was dusty and dirty, tables were sticky, the garden is over grown and looks run down with broken fences, there was one member of staff on the bar who repeatedly got drinks orders wrong, neither of the two staff we saw was dressed in smart attire to greet a wake full of mourners and the barman was eating his dinner on the bar, the buffet food that was paid for was extremely disappointing!

I went to a wake here yesterday and was very pleased with the service that was given by all the staff ☺ who were very polite and quick in getting everyone's orders of drinks in. The food that they laid out was lovely and very well presented. Would definitely recommend xx welldone to all the staff xx

Shocking! Dirty! Untidy! I visited this pub this week, my findings were shocking! Tables were dirty, sticky from stale beer or drinks. Dust everywhere, cobwebs dirt grime. Poor service. Bar staff repeatedly getting orders wrong, very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Will not be rushing back. This pub used to be a lovely friendly pub, I’m shocked

This is a lovely pub by a beautiful pond in Broomfield. Good food and great hosts Lyndsey and Sam. Dog friendly. One if the few tradional drinking establishments left. Highly recommended.
