We stopped here for a breakfast before heading back home to Manchester. We have used this service station before but not this pub. We have eaten at many Wetherspoons over the years. Breakfast on a Monday morning for us, was 1 small English breakfast 1 small vegetarian breakfast. All lovely and fresh and clean plates handed back, we had a black coffee & a Latte, these are refillable mugs but we didn’t use that option. All staff very pleasant, clean tables, toilets are up stairs and we’re clean and tidy … so if you on the road pop in and give this place a go.

Ordered a BBQ chicken burger. Plain one came out. Asked the staff member and he said ‘I remember this order and you only ordered the plain one’. I checked with the person who ordered who was 100% absolutely adamant he had read it out as exactly as it was in app (as we’d tried to order on there initially) which said BBQ chicken burger. Even if the staff member feels he did get it right, which we don’t think they did, they didn’t offer to help or see if we could add on the extras and pay the difference, or even get some bbq sauce. Just a bit disappointed. The staff brushed us off/were actively unhelpful. My friend also ordered a chicken wrap which was seemed half full. Would recommend going somewhere else in the services

On the way back home to Shropshire from Gatwick Airport and as Beaconsfield services was only about an hour away, we thought that this would be the best place to break the journey and have some dinner. We arrived at the services and went into the Hope & Champion. Inside the bar was too cold (air conditioning) so we sat outside, where it was warmer. Unfortunately this meant being among rowdy groups of people, most of whom smoked a lot and used foul language. We found a table with a 'no smoking' sign (and a full ashtray on it) and spent a few minutes choosing our meals. Thirty five minutes later and no food. I went back into the bar and asked how much longer our order would take to arrive. 'It's literally coming out of the kitchen now' was the response, so I went back outside and resumed my seat. Five minutes later and still no sign of our meals. Back inside and told them I wanted to cancel the order and have a refund which, to their credit, they gave without question. Bet here's the thing. Meals were coming out one at a time so the place was clearly understaffed that night. I would have expected on ordering, a 'I'm sorry there's a wait of at least half an hour for food' from the bar staff. On a separate note, Saturday night appears to be a gathering place for young boys and girls who belong to the 'bang pop' exhaust pipe fraternity. The soundtrack is of these cars accelerating quickly over a short distance repeatedly then barging their way around the car park. It's not what I would call family friendly.

Wetherspoons is Wetherspoons. It has it's place and the breakfast this morning filled the place. Normally I would give it a 3 star because you eat their food to live rather than live to eat. Acceptable. What made it 4 star was the man (I'm in my 70s I don't even know of I can call a man a man rather than a person) who served me. Think his name is Thom. Smiled, friendly, gave advice when asked (only about coffee cos breakfast is breakfast). I don't know where the company gets these excellent people (probably on basic wage). Excellent he was. Thank you Thom.

Is this the worst Weatherspoons in the country? At this one the meals are more expensive than most it's a smaller menu and you don't get a drink included. I work away from home and have to eat here most nights it has been getting worse every week.this week on Monday they ran out of salt, today is Thursday and still no salt,on Wednesday they ran out of CHIPS,and today they ran out of Burgers. The place has two floors but the staff close the upstairs every night which means that the ground floor is so busy most people with a choice walk away,I expect the management team at head office wonder why the takings are low 🥴 I don't have a choice but if you do give it a miss.

I visited this pub with my daughter yesterday and we ate different meals. I had chicken tikka. When I got home I became ill with diarrhea and I'm still unwell the next day so it probably was not cooked well enough to kill the germs. Firstly the upstairs section was closed, downstairs was full. There was no function going on just a member of staff eating in one of the booths... hummm. The All American cheese burger was smaller than a child's Mcdonalds burger. And you charged me £7.50 for that, thank you. The drinks took an age to arrive and when they did arrive they where just plonked on the table, on the tray and the happy smiley server just walked off. Can you feel the sarcasm. Not one member of staff cracked a smile. If you can't smile don't do the job. Food was bland, and we where not even asked if everything was okay... glad not to go there again.

I've never seen a Wetherspoons (or a pub for that matter but I've not been looking) at a motorway service station before but I'll miss it when they close it down. It's like any other spoons but it's a decent vibe to chill out on a road trip down south that isn't McDonalds (full of sqwaking kids) or Starbucks (packed). A pint also doesn't go amiss. There are a really interesting range of locally brewed drinks from the Bucks' area which I never saw in a spoons before.

On Monday 27th, we stopped for a quick snack at The Hope & Champion within the Beaconsfield service centre, at around 13,00, on our way to our daughters, and then onto Heathrow. My wife and I, together with our son and his girlfriend each ordered a 3oz burger with drinks, when the came, 3 of them were almost burnt, and the 4th was WITHOUT the burger, our son tried to take it back, but there were so many people in the service area, it was impossible, and we were on a tight schedule, on reflection, I wished I had taken a picture of it. Our son payed the bill on his Weatherspoon app, as it seemed the quickest and easiest way. My wife and I live in Finland, and visit the UK 3 or 4 times a year, and we always make sure we visit Wetherspoons, as they are always good value, and in nice surroundings, a few days earlier we were in The Square Peg, Birmingham, and had a really nice time. If you look at my review history, you will see most reviews are extremely positive, I gave Wetherspoons the opportunity to reply before posting this, but I got a pretty standard response, saying it had been passed to the manager, and they will do better in the future.

The Falcon in High Wycombe’s food always looks and smells good. So thought I would give Beaconsfield services a go as there is plenty of parking. Opted for the small breakfast with an extra portion of bacon. Helped myself to coffee from the machine which was not very hot. Plate arrived with an extra egg and not the extra bacon. The meal was Luke warm with the beans almost cold. Decently cooked though. The venue was very busy, but with a passing trade, quality and service is poor. Over all, I would try another Wetherspoons pub and see if standards are the same.

After a long journey through the early hours of the morning, I fell for the temptation of a £4.99 breakfast with a hot beverage for £1.29! Soon as the door opened, I made the order and took just under 30 minutes for the food to arrive it was a tad longer than expected but the food quality wasn't offensive, the toast and butter were really nice and I'm not overly avid about fried eggs but I left with a clean plate, full stomach, and a happy face! Service from what appeared to be the only waitress in the building made the whole experience smooth and relaxing, and the layout and cleanliness of the place was amazing! The portion was a tad smaller than I expected but for the price you can't moan, you definitely get more for your money in a breakfast at Toby Carvery, overall it's a great place for a pit stop.

Ordered a full English. Asked for Ketchup to accompany it only to be perfunctorily informed by uncaring staff that they didn't have any. Bear in mind this restaurant shares a service station space with some 5/6 other fast food enterprises (McDonalds; KFC etc). So not beyond any enterprising employee (of which there are clearly none) to obtain this most basic of condiments for customers. Beggars belief - hopefully this place will shortly be placed on permanent furlough by the very British public it's proprietor so speciously claims to speak for.

Normally I would recommend The Hope and Champion, the food is nice and the staff friendly. However, really disappointed with the utter disregard for COVID regulations by the Weatherspoon staff this weekend. The restaurant caters well in assisting its customers with hand sanitisers, screens, plenty of track and trace forms and well spaced tables. However, the staff are not wearing either masks or visors even when handling food. At one point I had to get up and move away when the waitress leaned right over me. A shame to go to so much trouble and expense installing all the screens, one way systems and hand sanitisers to then have staff breathing all over the guests and food and generally ignoring every piece of government advice.

Plenty of sanitiser available to use. Staff all friendly and service was very quick after ordering on the app. I hadn't done that before but was very impressed as it saved having to stand in line at the bar for service, but you have to pay by card on the app. The food was faultless except for the chips, which were very disappointing but we ordered several 'small plates' and everything else was absolutely top quality, particularly the battered prawns, best I've ever had. Next time I'd order a double portion of those!

After visiting Wetherspoons at Beaconsfield services as part of a football coach travelling to Wembley on 1/3/20, we arrived at approx 9.30am for breakfast, my partner, daughter and myself found a table and ordered drinks via the table app, 5 minutes later we ordered breakfast via table app, we have used this system before without problems, after waiting approx 15 minutes we was still waiting for our drinks, after asking two waiting staff were they were, was told twice I will find out. Our breakfast arrived first followed by drinks, yes we got breakfast but no cutlery, so again after waiting approx 7 minutes for cutlery two sets turn up, we ordered three meals, to which point then the food was stone cold, I asked what I was suppose to eat mine with...my fingers, to which I got a very vacant look from the idiot waiter...by this point I’d had enough and gave him my breakfast back and asked for a refund, my partner and daughter ate some of theirs but not all as it was stone cold and discussing, after 10 minutes or so I asked the waiter I’d returned my meal too if my refund had been sorted, to which he replied, I need to get a manager to do it.....I was fuming by this point and told him to go get a manager to come to me and fast....a young woman by the name of Poppy came and apologised and said she would sort my refund....she asked me to go to the bar with her, which I did and to be fair to her she refunded all three meals, my point of this review is they were clearly under staffed that day and not prepared for the amount of footfall that was going to Beaconsfield Wetherspoons, there were three football team supporters heading down to Wembley and London that day and they should have knew the amount of people it would bring, Beaconsfield is one of the busiest services on M1, and so is The Wetherspoons The Hope and Champion pub there, it was clearly bad management for not being prepared for this, the other outlets at the services seemed to be coping as I had to go get breakfast from elsewhere after returning mine in Wetherspoons, I don’t think I will ever visit this establishment again and would not advice anyone else to either, who wants cold food, doppy waiting staff that haven’t got a clue.My advice STAY AWAY FROM THE HOPE AND CHAMPION AT BEACONSFIELD SERVICES M1

Wetherspoons was not busy when we arrived with many tables being free and it was 07:30.Ordered 2 large breakfasts and a sausage butty with drinks. Food arrived quickly. Perfect you would think!!No. Despite food arriving quickly it was all cold even though it was cooked. Toast was still like bread and couldn’t believe I was eating at Wetherspoons with this poor standard. Advised the member of staff who served the tables who just said sorry and took our unfinished plates. Appalled to think that a chef could send out cold breakfast food for people to eat so not sure if it was cooked and then left somewhere before serving or it had been stood without heat. Even the bacon and sausage were cold and tiny eggs which did not look appetising. We remained at the table after plates had been cleared away to finish off our drinks which were the only positive thing about the meal as they were hot.No one came to our table after we had mentioned the cold food to offer any apology.I asked to speak to the manager as I stopped a member of staff who had initially took payment from myself. I was told that she herself was the Manager and was called Lois. Lois offered no apology for the cold food or anything further she could do and had a basically dismissive attitude of can’t be bothered. Not really what you wish to experience from a Manager. She did however suggest I could write a review on trip advisor........ so here it is.VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM LOISTHE CANT BE BOTHERED MANAGER.

Turned his nose up whilst giving my wife her veggie breakfast and then said here's your vegan thing. Then went on to tell us about his family and their meat eating habits. Then told us that abroad they basically didn't pander to the likes of us and that we would just have to eat the same as everyone else! Used this pub and restaurant umpteen times and each time impressed. Value for money meals, friendly efficient staff, good outlook over lake and woodland with play area for kids. We're locals and have taken relatives and friends there for tasty meals. Never thought I'd be impressed by a motorway service area diner but this one is good. Busy site just off the M40 but luckily most people make a b-line for Macdonalds, Nandos etc etc in the main buildings and few discover this pub.

We visited this branch of Wetherspoons passing through as most will. As Wetherspoons go, it wasn’t a great experience, we ordered via the app and sat in outside. Eventually, some cold food turned up after about 30 minutes, the drinks weordered with it I had to chase up at that point. We’d not received them. The drinks finally cam once we’d finished the food and we rushed them down to try and make the anticipated 30 minute stop into less than an hour (we didn’t manage it).

Located at Beaconsfield Services, The Hope and Champion is a fantastic pub with a good range of cheap drinks as well as a great patio with views of a lake. This is the best place I've ever been to at a services.

Brilliant place to stop on the way to Wembley at beaconsfield services. Why do people queue at the fast food next door, when you can have a good same price meal at the Wetherspoons?

Popped in this pub after a visit to Beaconsfield as stayed at the Ibis hotel next door. Very efficient bar staff but the general appearance in the bar was a bit scruffy, and very noisy with a number of large groups of teenagers on this Saturday night. Did not try the food options.

I visited the hope and champion the other evening with some friends for some drinks and a meal. I was looking forward to my meal as the way it was worded on the menu sounded really appertising, well I was completely wrong. It was the worst burger I had, the chips were soggy, the burger was burnt and hard, the cheese on the burger? Don’t get me started, it was cold and not melted at all like it had just come out of the fridge and the bacon? Can you even call that bacon? The members of staff were also so umprofessional, I spoke to a waiter who didn’t have much to say and went and got his manager, who really shouldn’t be a manager because the way he treated my complaint was awful, said they don’t have to have their cheese melted or hot on the burger? Isn’t that normal. Also didn’t offer me a refund which I’m not too fussed about receiving, he could’ve just offered it and make me feel as though I should return. If you go there just grab a pint.

It was a lovely day for February and most people were sitting outside. The pub offers a quiet alternative to the noisy concourse next door with all its food outlets. We had a meal on our way home. it was nothing special, but the service was satisfactory and the price reasonable.

This restaurant is ideally situated at Beaconsfield Services. We arranged a family get together with folks travelling from Suffolk, Clapham, West Midlands and Gloucestershire. The staff were so friendly and efficient, the food and drinks were lovely and the setting overlooking the partially frozen lake was perfect.

I have visited and been happy with The Hope and Champion before. Normally good food and excellent service. Today they let Tim Martin down. I went to order my food and didn’t receive a welcome. I ordered steak and onion rings at 8.40 pm. I noticed the girl who I gave the order to then went off shift only to come back and sit by my table with a takeaway from one of the fast food outlets at the services. One of the staff then came and said she couldn’t eat something she brought in so she went to get her coat and left. I waited and waited for my order and after 40 minutes went to enquire. My receipt was scrutinised and a guy went to find out what had happened. He said he would give me some money back but that never took place. After another 15 minutes he appeared and said he had personally supervised the order but offered no explanation for the delay. There were five chips and the steak was just about ok but luke warm. However no onion rings. He said he would go and get them. Eventually I had to go and ask again and the onion rings turned up as i was finishing my meal. They were dried out and some were burnt. What was galling was that no one seemed to care. As I said previous experience had been good but I will now avoid the Hope and Champion.

Pub on the site of a motorway/village service station. Usual Wetherspoon menu - not an expensive menu - obviously not all hand prepared but adequate food for a good value price & fairly quick service - especially considering at a service station where prices are always higher than average. Two levels - bar, self service tea/coffee machines & seating/tables ground floor & further tables on an upper floor. Staff friendly. Generous portion of fish & chips - well cooked, chips nice, crispy batter on the fish & tasty mushy peas. £9.50 for the fish & chips & a soft drink or tea/coffee with free refills. You are not rushed to finish. Clean toilets upstairs so you don’t have to walk through to the service station to the ones the other side. Children’s menu, high chairs for families & children’s play area outside opposite side of the lake. (Kids animal park & a model village both a short drive away) Entrance level for wheelchairs & disabled parking spaces right outside (disabled loos ground floor). Free parking. Marks & Spencer & WH Smith on services site as well for shopping as well as several other food outlets. Basic budget hotel next door so this would be a good option for breakfast or hot meals when staying there.

I went to this pub for breakfast, it was served quickly and was of good quality. The pub is quite large inside and there is also an extensive outside seating area, the pub is attached to a motorway service area. Recommended.

Visited this Wetherspoon pub on 3 nights in a row. first for food and then for pints. Service was OK. The cost of pints seemed reasonable, probably cheaper than the average. It is part of the M40 Services at Junction 2. Would come again if in the neighborhood.

This place was the best spoons for food I have ever been to for the first few years of opening. I used to think the food rivalled TGIS and was certainly better value. It has gone downhill in recent months in my opinion. We went recently and sent a burger back twice. The picture was the second attempt. Was given money back for that dish and associated drink no qualms, but we left with one of our party members dissatisfied. The manager said the grill is heating too high. That said, we will go back and will probably have buttermilk chicken burger next time.

We stopped off here for breakfast to start our holiday, and were very disappointed. We ordered cooked breakfasts, which took ages to come and then they were just lukewarm. While I appreciate they had a staff shortage, I don’t feel that excuses such poor service. Wouldn’t visit again.

I hope this is the right location for this pub, it was at the services on the way back from Gatwick. We were all feeling pretty rough having been up since 3am to fly back from Iceland. Although it was busy we got served quickly and the food arrived hot. I had a few gluten free options which is always important when selecting places to eat.

Have lived in GX over 25 years and always pop to Beaconsfield - never been before and will now come here many times!! Lovely lady owner too. So impressed!

A lovely local english pub! Great access for parking. Outdoor seating is plenty and very comfortable. Playground for the 7+yo kiddies, and chickens for the younger kids. Food was absolutely delicious, and super quick! Service was attentive and friendly. A plate we ordered was forgotten, and they swiftly arranged it and took the cost off the bill! I recommend the Palmer Ale!
