Lovely atmosphere, was quite busy downstairs as the sun was out however service was amazing. Irina was chatty and made us feel welcome. Food arrived in a timely manner and was cooked beautifully, thank you Nur, Ana and Ed. We had the Harrisa lamb and seafood linguine both were amazing.

Phenomenal roast sirloin!!! Could not recommend more, lovely service from Gaby and great food from the Chef, Michael!

The pub was very accommodating to us as a large group. Top notch. Lovely garden in the sun and a beer perfect. Good choice of beers.

Visited for a quick meal, staff friendly and the food was great. We were even allowed a dog in the bar which was fantastic. But, there was a really bad smell come from the carpet where we sat. It was so bad it really put us off the food and we hurried up and left. Shame because I would have liked to stay for a drink or too.

Came with the intentions of having a couple of drinks on a Friday night, but the smells from the restaurant were too good, order a couple of burgers and my god they were excellent, will be back

As a group of 5 adults we wanted to go for a meal that wasn’t a Christmas set menu so decided upon the hole in the wall as the non Christmas menu looked lovely. We were not disappointed the food was absolutely delicious ! The food was fresh, well cooked with generous portions, the prawn starter was Devine, and the steak was cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. Being the 21st of December it was busy but the staff were amazing, nothing was to much trouble, they were patient and attentive. I would recommend the hole in the wall to anyone that wants a delicious well cooked meal in a lovely area of Bristol

We had a family meal, a Sunday Roast at The Hole in the wall. The starters and mains were delicious, fresh and the service was excellent. The desserts were absolutely brilliant. Ola and Irena was amazing they looked after us throughout our visit. Family friendly place, and the colouring activities for children are very impressive. Definitely recommend, the Hole in the wall is the best place in Bristol for every occasion.

Walked in to a busy bar, greeted friendly by the bar staff. We went for fish and chips, pie, and a steak, all great! And some good beers to wash it down

Came for a drink and some food on saturday evening irena was welcoming and made us feel very comfortable as we had older people in our party. Delicious food and good times were had by all. Thanks Irena for giving us a 10/10 hospitality experience and to Ola the chef for a delicious meal!

We had already been to this place in the past years, and this time we wanted to try "Wine and food experience". On a busy saturday evening, some problem to make it clear that we had booked correctly (the bill has arrived with price "a la carte" and not "wine and food experience": immediately corrected), but you can forgive it with such young, kind and caring staff. Start with Pan fried wild scallops (crispy prosciutto, thyme velouté, capers, artichoke crisps), main : Sea Bass fillet (prawns & preserved lemon butter, bouillabaisse, tomato & spring onion salsa, green beans, baby potatoes ). To finish: sicilian lemon tart (which could have been better: i think in Sicily they don't recognize it). WIne: English "Bollicine", for the Chapel Down Brut, the curiosity to taste an English brut. It was ok A good idea, we can come back here .

Came in for Sunday roast 1st time having a roast have eat here before just normal menu We had a 30 minute wait but it was worth it The roast was lovey we had the extras as well and definitely will be back for another

I went to The Hole in the Wall to have dinner with my husband. We had a great evening! Irina was the one making sure we were having a great time. She took our orders and was able to give more details about the dishes we were thinking about having. I had linguine with king prawns, crab and scallops and my husband ordered the Dirty Burguer. Both dishes were amazing! The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and sophisticated. We thank Irina, the chefs and all the staff for providing us a lovely evening at Bristol.

£18.00 for a very poor quality burger and terrible fries. Staff lacked training , could not recognize bad beer. An unpleasant experience, not to be repeated.

This is a nice place to go for a drink but avoid ordering food. The menu prices are a gastro pub range but the food was well below par. I ordered a Cheeseburger and chips costing over £15. The burger was basically charcoal and completely inedible, The accompanying ‘skin in fries’ were clearly not home made, they were hard and dry and again inedible. There are so many nice places to eat in the area so I would advise going elsewhere.

I had a lovely lunch with my mother-in-law last Wednesday at The Hole In The All. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Fin, who allowed us to select our preferred seating. We chose a table with a view by the window, overlooking the front of the pub. Salt and pepper squid, classic fish and chips, and fishcakes were our choices, all of which were delicious and presented with care. Finley, along with his colleague whose name escapes me, provided excellent service throughout our visit. A great venue in a handy location if you’re looking for pub food, done really well. We will visit again soon.

This pub is simply divine! I must say it is up there as one of my top dining destinations in Bristol! I especially enjoy the beef drippings, as well as the outstanding service I receive… a special shoutout must go to a certain Eve, who I would argue gave me the best experiences I have ever had in a pub.

Great food but poor service. Not all the staff were bad but vast majority made it clear they didn’t want to be there. This place isn’t all that cheap either, so you would expect better service. Heard them slagging each other off here and there too. Shame that such nice food was overshadowed by the staff.

Sent the fish back as it had a strong smell of ammonia. Obviously not fresh fish. Re-ordered. Kitchen staff took over 30 minutes to bring a replacement so one of the party had already finished. Chef should have been on it immediately. Had to remind them about 4 times that we were still waiting for our food. Poor show.

This has always been one of our favourite venues in Bristol. We had booked for dinner and called in for an evening drink the evening before. The service was very poor, just one bar person, who clearly didn't want to be there! We contemplated cancelling our dinner reservation for the following evening but thought we would give the venue another chance. And we were glad we did. Both the food and service in the restaurant were excellent.

Took two hours to get our main, only one roast potato! Massive piece of fat instead of meat and swimming in gravy. Obviously poor service, but no apology or recognition of how bad the lunch experience was. Wouldn’t recommend for roasts.
