We didn't have any pleasant impressions after dinner. Dishes’ presentation was amazing , but the taste was far from that🤷🏼‍♀️

Luke was our waiter for the evening he was absolutely brilliant and very attentive. The bar staff were amazing too! The food was cooked to absolute perfection 👌 this was my 2nd time here I will definitely be returning!

Booked a table in advance and hospitality from beginning to end was superb. Staff very welcoming, enough time to think about food to be ordered plus little waiting time for food itself. All 3 dishes ordered were tasty and well presented. A good selection on the menu of starters, mains and desserts so catering for all tastes. The waitress for our table very personable and not difficult to see why this is one of many linked restaurants in the county if the standard is set like this in all of them. Definitely give it a go.

We visited on a weekday lunchtime. The restaurant was initially entirely empty which meant there was little or no atmosphere. The staff were helpful and food ( perhaps unsurprisingly) arrived promptly. The fish in my fish and chips was cooked very well although batter was soft and not crispy enough. Sea bass was good. Price was reasonable.

Well cooked meal however they were out off the dish I wanted but I was happy with the meal. Nice atmosphere

The Herbalist is a nice place to visit in the middle of Maidstone and is close to parking. It’s nicely decorated and they have a good cocktail menu and good service. Food is OK but over priced for what you get.

Went for my daughters 28th birthday and had amazing food and service from Amy. The place has a great atmosphere and we will definitely be returning.

Used my birthday voucher for a free bottle of Prosecco which was very nice. Had lovely pizza and crème brûlée for pudding, with a friend, celebrating my birthday. Was a nice evening, thank you.

Called in at the start of a night out: a great setting ( the pizza oven looked great!), good range of non and alcoholic options and attentive service: would definitely revisit!

Very nice looking place. I like the Elite Pub chain. Food is very good and they have an extensive vegan menu also. One of the waiting staff was quite rude with a terrible attitude. This has only happened once however. Recommend.

We had a Christmas lunch there and it was the best one I have had in years

The food was delicious, the servers were friendly, and the interior is really striking. We ordered a pizza that I watched get cooked, and shared some cauliflower wings that are probably the best we've ever had. We're vegetarians and there were plenty of options for us, so we'll have to go back. They advertise that 85% of the menu is sourced within 25 miles of the restaurant. If this place can make food this good, this reasonably priced, and this local, it did make me question why other restaurants aren't capable of doing the same! Edit: some spelling errors

Paul served us and he was an absolute ray of sunshine. Catered to our needs and just put a whole new meaning to amazing service. If you have him as your waiter feel blessed and know you will be taken care of. Food was amazing and came in great time. Come here or you’ll be missing out !

This was a meal celebrating my wife's special birthday, our family group of 12 were looked after by a young lady , the drinks were very fast in arriving at our table . The food menu was varied and packed with suitable options . Again the food arrived very promptly and we all agreed the the chef needed a pat on his back as the meals were great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I came for a festive lunch with the girls here it’s a lovely place and great atmosphere, the food was absolutely lovely and a A* service from our waitress Amy who was bubbly and could tell she really cared about how our lunch went will be back again in the new year

We had a party of 22 for the festive menu on a Saturday! The service was brilliant, very attentive, the food was delicious and for a big party all came out warm and well presented. I would highly recommend.

Had our team Christmas party here in a Tuesday afternoon and felt as if we've hired the whole place and it felt serene and quiet just for our team. Food was good but a bit pricey but I guess the quality was great so deserves the price tag. First time in there although been in Maidstone just over 8 years now

The food was great, it took a while for the food to arrive but the staff were attentive and friendly.

Quite honestly fantastic! Me and my wife went here for some dinner, knowing a friend had recomend it. It ended up surpassing our thoughs of just dinner out, the food was spectacular, the service was above and beyond and the whole place has an amazing feel to it. This was the best dinner we had in forever, will definitely be back when we can.

My 1st time and wasn't disappointed very nice venue and very good food and really enjoyed the experience.

Had a meal here this afternoon and was left a little disappointed. The venue is very clean and nicely decorated and the service was friendly but the food left us disappointed. The all day brunch was very good as was the Avacado and Egg dish we ordered however the fish and chips and the Pulled pork/smashed beef burger were disappointing. The fish was very dry and the chips were well done on the outside but still hard in the middle. The burger was very nicely presented but the smashed patty was very odd with a lot of herbs mixed with the meat, couldn’t work out if it was coriander or maybe oregano but it was a bit overpowering and not that nice. We mentioned these issues (2 plates of only minimally eaten food) but the waiter was like “hey Ho, sorry you didn’t enjoy it, I will pass on your comments” shame as the burgers and fish and chips we have had in the past have been very good. Fish and chips was a quality issue and the burger needs to be described as a “herb burger” or similar as it definitely wasn’t what was expected (and I’ve eaten a lot of burgers!)

I visited here today with family and really enjoyed it. Our waitors (Kye and Kyle) were fantastic, really friendly & great with suggestions, food was delicious and fantastic drinks. Would definitely return and recommend.

I brought some of my clients for a dinner and some drinks and we had a brilliant time. Our food was delicious, and our server Izzy was both attentive but also respectful. She made us feel very welcome and even had a little joke or two with us during service. Great server and great place! I’d happily return again. The loaded fries are massive btw. So only order as a side to share on top of the mains (also pleasingly plentiful).

Good quality food with good portion sizes, quick service on drinks and the waiter provided great service. Couldn’t fault at all.

We were so excited to visit The Herbalist after reviewing their website and other reviews but wow were we disappointed! First off it seemed that we were more of an inconvenience to the waiter when he came to take our order or were asked to clear the table. The food was average, my gnocchi was so oily, my husband had mussels missing from his seafood pasta. Very sad about our experience but unfortunately won’t be back.

Food wasn’t too bad but had most muscles missing from my seafood pasta. Service was absolutely shocking - waiter showed no interest in providing a lovely lunch with close friends and family, it was as if we, the customers were inconveniencing them. I asked if they could warm up my 8 month olds food (which was in a fully closed container) and he said he would ask the chef (with attitude) and mentioned it’s not usually allowed but he will ask - he did not ask and completely avoided me after this despite making eye contact several times. Our finished plates of food sat on the table for at least 20 minutes and had to ask for them to removed and again - it was as if this was an inconvenience to them. We will not come back and certainly will not recommend.

We booked a table in the evening, we arrive, and they tell us that the kitchen is not working, and they won’t cook anything for us, the evening is ruined, sort out this situation

friends booked a table for a birthday party and ended up just being told that the kitchen was closed before the time indicated on the website, ruined the day and terrible attitude

We made a reservation from 20:30 to 21:45 with the indication that it would be dinner. We arrived at 20:45 and were told that the kitchen was closing and nothing would be cooked for us. This is not stated on the website, plus they had a "dinner" option for that time. My birthday party that I had planned to celebrate here was ruined. Modified: when booking the opening time was not written, but if you dig on the site, it was stated that the kitchen was open until 21:30. And the place was 90% empty at the time. We weren't passing by, we booked that night. It's very unpleasant.

We booked a table here at 20:30, arrived at the place at 20:45 and we were told that the kitchen is closed and there will be no dinner for us, nowhere was indicated the time of the kitchen, we were advised to neighboring establishments, wasted time on the road, I do not recommend.

Didn't have food but have eaten at other elite pubs and it's always been top notch. Fantastic menu, caters for everyone, doesn't limit people dietary requirements. We came for cocktails and visited junipers, first time going to the downstairs bar. It's a gorgeous cocktail list. As someone who's tee-total it's very nice to be given the option of a good range of mocktails which aren't just juice and lemonade! Zero spirits used properly. The non alcoholic beer selection is wicked as well with plenty of bottles and lucky saints on tap in the herbalist if you want a proper pint Would defo recommend

I had kebab which was OK but over priced and family, 2 Adults, 1 Child, had pizza and they were honestly the least appetising bare pizzas I've ever seen. There was virtually no toppings on an over thin piece of cooked dough and for what you got the price was extortionate! Exactly the same can be said of the Calzone - all puff with very little filling. My family had deserts, 1 Eaton Mess, 1 crumble, 1 Childs Ice Cream. Eaton Mess - delicious. Crumble - Left as was extremely poor quality and tasteless. Ice Cream OK. No sides came with pizza's not even salad so I side salad was ordered. Myself and grandchild had iced tap water. 1 × mocktail and 1 × 1/2 beer Total cost £122. Absolutely bloody ridiculous. It was my daughters treat but never, never again, seriously over priced for supposedly Italian food, which is in all honesty, was probably the most tasteless I've ever tried. If you have to go here do yourself a favour and have burger, they look better but with so many more good reasonably priced establishments in Maidstone, I'd give it a miss altogether.

Great visit last night. Aside from the quality food and bar menu, Jarvis the manager was totally attentive even though he was busy looking after a large group. Nice to see someone enthusiastic about the food and helped with our choices. Great device and Jarvis is a real star.

We are greeted warmly by the host, service was good and friendly. Food excellent and very good value. We will certainly visit again

I visited here yesterday evening with some friends and really enjoyed it. Our waitress was fantastic, really friendly & great with suggestions, food delicious and fantastic drinks. I was really torn with what to order as so many things sounded great but the chicken burger was a fab choice & a great portion

First visit, great atmosphere, very spacious. Staff all smiling and very nice. Started off with cocktails which were excellent. Had the Greek pizza with sides of loaded chips and coleslaw, pint of pale ale and glass of Chapel Down Baccus finished off with Chocolate brownie and coffee's. All in all a wonderful evening to celebrate our our anniversary and look forward to returning soon!! Gary

Booked a dog friendly table for 5… they reserved a table for 4 - high stools - not really appropriate! Very disappointing. Given the currently challenging climate in hospitality, you should be able to do so much better!

Lovely place, interesting design and great atmosphere. Helpful and respectful service from the waiter. Been here a few times and the food was great both times I've been here. Reasonable prices. The only thing I didn't like was the food menus. Just a piece of paper without any visual design. Overall, I would visit again! Recommended!

Fantastic food generous portions service good. I like to tip generously but service charge already on bill. All in all great place will visit again.

Took my mum out for lunch & really enjoyed our time at The Herbalist. We started off with some cocktails which were fabulous & then had food. The pizzas are fantastic & I really enjoyed the vegan option of battered banana flowers with chips, mushy peas & tartare sauce. I love how all the elite pubs have a similar decor theme but individual to each restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Pretty nice place for food. I've been a few times now and overall had a great experience. Food comes quickly and is nice. The food isn't mind blowing but it is nice and I have not had a bad meal. The staff are nice, pleasant and attentive. I would recommend the buttermilk chicken thigh burger, it is a lot for food for your money and it's tasty too.

I have eaten here a few times. They have their own Pizza oven and the pizzas are delicious. Other dishes are great too. Lots of seating, nice atmosphere and clean restrooms.

Great service by Chloe, who was the only server for the whole restaurant, but she did a great job nonetheless! Well done Chloe!

19/04/2024. We were out celebrating our colleague’s birthday. Amy our waitress was just superb. She was able to answer all questions re the food and remembered what everyone had ordered. Everything arrived hot and in a timely manner. Amy was very friendly knowledgeable and we felt she looked after our group really well. Thank you!

We were very kindly welcomed and served by Jarvie. The chefs cooked a smashing meal and we could not fault it ! The beef shin ragu and king prawns on toast were our faves. Would highly recommend.

Paul was excellent and meal was lovely but be aware you have to pay a deposit to book the table. The £80 was not taken off our bill and we were charged £10 due to one of our party unable to attend due to illness, which I think was unfair

I enjoyed it and I would go again but it was pricey so it would have to be a treat. The person who invited me asked for private dining so we were disappointed when we were first offered a space in the main dining area and then moved to an annexe that was a bit tight for the numbers. When I pre ordered I asked for sorbet for dessert and was given ice cream which was very nice but not what I asked for. The service was very good and the young lady who attended to us was excellent.

We had a brilliant meal here to celebrate with a large family group. The food & drink was all delicious - a great, varied selection on the menu (even if we did mostly choose the same meal!) and good portion sizes, great value for money...

Came into the herbalist and was a great experience paul who served us was amazing and the chef tino cooked our food amazingly can not wait to return
