Popped in for a quick bite to eat while passing through, we were served by Jareth who helped us with our order after the app wasn't working for us. Very happy & polite member of staff 😊 thank you again 😀

I have to say, a Sunday evening is a pleasure for all at the Haywain when Kaylee is working. She is bright, friendly, professional and best of, on the ball.. totally aware when someone is waiting for a drink and aware of who was next to be served.

Genuinely embarrassed for the staff having to work here. Everything is run down and scrappy. The toilets smell awful and the decor is simply worn out. Marstons should be doing something about this and refurbishing to support the thriving community in which it sits.

Despite being a fairly last minute booking for mothers day, we were able to be booked in for 5 of us. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and polite, advising us of the wait time for food. The food came in good time and was enjoyed by all. Portions were spot on, I think my husband said his chicken was slightly over cooked, but all in all nothing to complain about especially on such a busy day. Thank you Rob and the team, we will return.

Went with friends for a meal and the quiz night. The staff were as always welcoming and friendly. The food was good in quality and portions we all enjoyed what we ordered. The quiz was at an appropriate level and delivered well by the organisers. We came second to last so are planning to return with a bigger team next time.

Debbie was as attentive as ever and bought our food to our table with a smile. She interacted with my 3 year old and made him feel special with his meal, she even wrapped up the left overs for him to take home.

Had a amazing meal here tonight. The chef was really helpful and recommended dishes. Think she said her name was Tess. Would definitely come back for her cooking as it was 100% perfect

Place was filthy! Food was poor quality and overpriced for what you get. Two of our three meal was missing parts of it, the one meal that was complete (fish finger sandwich) was made with stale bread. Would never go here again.

Popped in for a lunch after finishing our big shop at the nearby Tesco. Had a couple of coffee's and decided to stay for a bit of food as it looked nice coming out. Simple pub food but nicely cooked and presented, very friendly staff which makes all the difference to us. Inside is looking a little tired but good food and friendly team, we will be back again.

Nice venue with a good selection of food from burgers to pub classics with an up to date beer garden. An area for drinks and an area for dinners along with a pool table and darts board.

Good food and lovely staff always lovely and clean

45 minute wait due to new chef. Broken grill so had to have chicken burger instead of beef (It was very good anyway) Dessert was much faster within minutes and well worth the short wait! Served by Debbie who was very nice but it wasn't her fault.

We came in today to feed the kids and get together. We had a lovely time, food was easily adapted for fussy kids and Debbie looked after us well, making sure we were all good and checking the kids were happy too. We will 100% come back soon. Thank you.

Was a really lovely meal that came out quickly! Bar staff were really lovely and Debbie our server did an amazing job and went above and beyond.

Service and staff were very lovely & friendly. The food was pretty naff. £15 for the Sunday roast and it was crap. Yorkshire pudding hadn’t risen, so just a flat, hard thing, stuffing ball was tiny, solid and sad. Plate was mainly boiled broccoli… 1 burnt pig in blanket. Boiled carrot was nice, roasted potatoes were ok, not crispy and fluffy, just below par potatoes. They could put a bit of effort in to make a nice roast dinner but they really didn’t. The kids fish and chips, the fish was nice! Kids pasta, was basic & just what the kiddo wanted. The chicken platter could have done with something like a salad, it was very beige. Overall, lovely staff, big pub, but food is overpriced for how basic it is. I didn’t choose to visit here (visited with family) and I wouldn’t recommend it for food. To pop in for a drink yes.

Went for dinner with friends here yesterday and a fella named Jareth was an absolute delight. He had good conversation and was funny as well as providing excellent information on the food on the menus. We had a great time and this lad definitely enhanced the experience, will come again! Definitely needs a promotion

My food was late and not cooked to expectations, but I have to say Debbie and Sophie are amazing, their service made up for the crappy food

Waitress was fantastic and was very embarrassed at the portion sizes she was told to bring to the table. Second time recently that we’ve attended and portion sizes have been cut,this time we asked to double up on our chips and was given only standard portion. While in here today I’m sure this is not going to be the only view reflecting this.

Great food. Tables need replacing. Staff need to pay attention on what was ordered no their mobile phones 2nd visit I used to like the food at this pub. Quality and getting order correct seem to have been lost. I had lasagne which was missing most of its pasta layers and the garlic bread was very hard, almost like it was atleast a day old. My partner and child have the beef and lamb kebab which had chicken in it with chilli. Luckily none of us were allergic to chilli

Ordered 2 Burger meals and onion rings. We were served cold chips, incomplete burgers and half of a portion of onion rings! No quality control at all.

Was out with a couple lady’s for lunch. Order soupx2 and prawn cocktail. The soup was just thick gloopy stuff and not even half full! Prawn cocktail was fine, when I asked for a refund, I got it and a voucher.. the waitress Debbie was so amazing, we really felt for her she felt with the complaints .. another table of 6 left Debbie was very apologetic and professional even uber such stress! The manager came over.. so nice and was very sorry and gave us a voucher! She’s just took it over so will go again to see how it is next time:)

I used to live in Quedgeley 2 years ago and would come to the Haywain every month for a meal, the food was stunning and great customer service. Oh my how things have changed, this has got to be the worst experience I have ever received at a pub. Food was god awful, I wouldnt even feed it to my dog. Sausages were charcoal, chicken was so dry I could bounce it and the steak was so fatty I couldn't cut it. It was my sons 10th birthday and he left in tears because he was nearly sick from the burger, it tasted that bad. You should be ashamed of yourselves Marstons

I brought my mum here today for a birthday lunch. We were served by Debbie and Kaylee, and they were both amazing. Ryan was the chef and he was also brilliant. Me and my mum both wanted the mixed grill, but were told they didn't have any. The chef then said that as it's her birthday he would make 2 for us. He went completely out of his way to make us both a full mixed grill, all from fresh. My mum had a lovely birthday lunch, and we are so grateful for the service we received. Would recommend highly!!

The front of house was kind, helpful an inviting but when we wanted to order food we were told they had no steaks so we ordered a starter an decided on a different meal to be told they did have steaks , so when the starter came out we was rushed into ordering our mains quickly as the kitchen wanted to close early because it was quiet, (their words), So we ordered a medium rare sirloin an a gammon...(no eggs for the gammon) when the food came out the sirloin was medium well at best an had clearly been done in a rush....that is said steak in photo ...cross hatch grill marks on one side an just flipped an left to over cook on otherside...got a refund in the end but wouldn't recommend eating here, also the men's toilets are falling apart broken toilet flush handle an a cracked hand dryer ...just alot needs doing here, management need a check.

Want to personally thank Mia and Donna for being so attentive and thorough with my allergies tonight. I have a "top 14" allergy and an unconventional allergy, too, and they made sure to assist with and cater to both. Amazing team, absolutely recommend the gluten free food (and the sweet potato fries are delicious, too).

Really poor experience. Food was burnt, booked a table for 4 at 3.45pm but no one knew about out booking. Finally someone at the bar just said sit wherever. Food was expensive and over cooked. Kids sausage was raw! Not going back and dont recommend sadly

Nice place, and new staff seem really friendly, but come on the prices for drinks are an absolute joke. Will not be using it as my local anymore. I'll go elsewhere, such a shame

We had a group Xmas lunch here & it was excellent. Members have dietary needs that were fully sorted without any bother whatsoever. Debbie & her crew served us very well, making us all feel like valued customers.

We had a christmas meal with 22 of us and it all went well and the food was great. Debbie really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and look after

Went in today for the festive menu. On entrance Grant served us our drinks and got us to our table.He was very patient and polite. Very willing to help. Debbie served us our food at the table. Great to see a happy face and she was so accommodating. We were made to feel very welcome and treated like a regular. The food was lovely and the portions were so good. Thank you Chef. Looking forward to visiting again and hope to see Grant and Debbie again, being great at what they do. A real credit to the company. Bravo and thank you Haywain Quedgeley.

Just had two mixed grills and had asked for the steaks to be medium rare but when it turned up it was over cooked and the rest of the meats were all dry too but our waitress Debbie went out of her way to give us a refund and was very apologetic 10 out of 10 for Debbie 1 out of ten for the food

Bar man on at 11.10 pm at 29/11/24 very rude. We said had we missed last orders, he said yes they had rand the bell twice. None of of us had heard the bell including me and people standing at the bar. He then said that it was our problem not his. Very rude so consequently we cancelled our meal at the hauwain the following night.what a shame. Staff member does need training in common courtesy and manners

The restaurant was tired, there was mould on the ceiling and we had to move tables. The furniture was tired. The service was slow, the sweet potato fries were overdone. The tea pots were grubby and chipped.

After visiting your pub for the past 8 years after I take my partner and her mum shopping opposite at Tesco where she treats me to a pizza and drink I will say that I am really disappointed with the food today. Debbie had reserved us a table with all the necessary items to eat with and we thought was great however we waited over 45 mins for our order at which time my partners mum got panicky as she does not like walking down her path at home when it gets dark,so we had to take our food home. Debbie was also upset and could not apologise enough for the delay.The pizza was undercooked so we had to put it in the oven to eat it. NOT HAPPY AND WE MAY THINK ABOUT ANOTHER VENUE AFTER SHOPPING IN THE FUTURE
