The Harvester, Tarpots in Castle Point

Visited this restaurant before going to a show in Southend. I can only say the food was first class. I cannot remember the chefs name but the steaks were cooked ( medium rare) to Absolute perfection. The server DONNA absolutely made the evening. I give them all 100 percent praise. Thank you

Great time at a family meal,, salad bar all fresh, crisp and lovely, main meals and desserts all went down really good.. Big shout out to our waitress Amber who looked after us really well.. Thank you Amber for your attention to making our dining out experience a night to remember nothing was too much trouble for you, your kindness was gratefully received you are fab and clearly enjoy your job that you do so well such a refreshing change as you do not get that kind of service everywhere you go these days. Very unpleasant staff,asked if we could sit at a certain table,told to sit were we like, ordered a drink said we wanted a meal,sat there for fifteen minutes and was ignored, went to bar to pay for drink,lady behind bar just stood there drinking.So went to Lobster Smack very pleasant and friendly staff.

I visited the harvester with my father for breakfast as a special treat The pancakes was absolutely delicious with the maple syrup and bacon and the hashbrowns. My father had the classic breakfast, which was delicious, and I think that it should be rated a six star.

One of the best meals I have ever had, the staff were friendly and accommodating. I had my two younger brothers with me and they all did their best to keep them entertained and was so lovely towards us.

Rude, unfriendly bar staff. Went here twice over weekend and both times the bar staff were rude. Second time I was alone and wanted coffee while waiting for colleague - staff insisted I had to sit in corner by slot machine and few groups of loud workers even though empty seats elsewhere. Tables filthy and staff wandering around making people pick up their drinks while they put stickers on table.

There is no way I would ever order The Mediterranean Tart !!! Pastry like cardboard with a dollop of rague slopped in side !!! Awful!!! .. we had a lovely waitress who done her best to help !!! Wasn't charged for this after complaining!!! Take it off the menu as I can't be the only one who complained!!!!

Family meal food was amazing and our waitress Jackie was fabulous as always ! We would recommend teapots harvester to anyone

This is our first visit since the restaurant was refurbished. On first glance it all looks clean and you can see the alterations that have been made, in fact we commented that it looks much bigger. We were sat down in a small area near to the bar, this area had been changed in the update. For us, this area was very cramped, and it seemed as if the waitress forgot we were there as we could not be seen. Once we were served we had to ask 2 different staff members for our glasses so we could get a drink. The tables in this area are places very close together and it felt as if we were dining the with people on the table next to us. Also being so close to the bar it was extremely noisy. The food was served hot so no complaints there. I would not sit in that area again, if it was the only seats left on another visit we would rather leave.

What a great breakfast, highly recommend and will definitely be going again. Jane was fantastic, a brilliant host. Wish all restaurants had ‘a Jane’ greeting their guests. The service couldn’t be faulted and the food was piping hot and tasted great. Thank you, see you soon.

First time since the refurbishment. Menu doesn’t appear to have changed. Salad cart well topped up. Steak cooked perfect. Burger spot on. Onion nest awesome. A bit short on deserts due to failure of ice cream machine. Our server Amber although mega busy served us well and made our visit enjoyable. Great service. Will be back soon.

Meal nice and value for money... Much nicer now its had a refurb...Amber our server was very attentive.

Good pub food, nice and hot, smaller portions than before possibly to increased costs. Felt very rushed, spoke to server who explained next time ask them to slow down on courses. Now I know will do it next time.
