Beautiful historic pub on the Pilgrims Way trail. Definitely worth a stop for some local cider or beer. I ordered a pulled pork burger. The burger was a bit soggy (if the base of the buns were toasted it might have been better). The sauce could have been spicy. The service however compensated. The young waiter was very kind and served me on the terrace even though the terrace is usually self service.

We had our first late lunch in the sun today!! The pub was super busy (Sunday) but the service was still outstanding and the food was excellent! I had a chicken Ceasar salad and my husband had a chicken burger. Both dishes were delish, fresh tender chicken breast, well seasoned, just perfect! The best salad I had in long time! Absolutely applauded we had a reservation at 4:15 on Sunday. We were sat straight away which was the only positive. We ordered drinks and were then told they were already out of every roast option other than chicken which I find crazy considering it was prime dinner time. We sat down didn’t finish our drinks because there was no point. We then didn’t get an apology for the inconvenience. If they know they are busy they need to be prepared especially when they tell you that they are so busy. Unacceptable this was also our first time here as we live locally will definitely not be recommending to others.

We visited this pub recently, and while the atmosphere was nice, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. It was decent but nothing special. Given the high prices, we were expecting something more impressive. For the cost, we felt the quality just wasn’t good enough. A bit disappointing, considering the overall experience. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, nice, and attentive, which definitely added to the experience.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Avoid at All Costs My partner and I visited this pub restaurant today, hoping for a pleasant lunch. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We started with a coffee and sparkling water, which were thankfully decent. However, the problems began when we ordered our starters and main dishes. We were required to pay in advance, which struck us as odd—why pay for something we haven’t even received yet? After a long 30-minute wait, our starters arrived, and they were, to put it mildly, terrible. The food was of poor quality, bordering on junk, and we couldn’t even finish it. But the real issue arose with the main course. We both ordered a lamb dish from the menu priced at £22 each lamb meal. What arrived was an Indian-style lamb dish—a fact that was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Neither my partner nor I enjoy Indian cuisine, and we certainly didn’t expect to be served it without any warning. We called the manager over to address the issue. Instead of being helpful, she was dismissive, asking only, “Are you sure you don’t want this?” When we explained that we couldn’t eat the dish, she simply took our plates away without offering any solution or apology. No refund, no alternative meal, nothing. After waiting in vain for any sort of resolution, my partner had to go inside to speak with the manager again. The response was shocking—she was extremely rude and completely unconcerned about our dissatisfaction. Despite our polite explanation that the menu did not indicate the dish was Indian, the manager refused to do anything about it. She wouldn’t return our money, nor would she offer any alternative. Her attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and downright insulting. How can a restaurant serve food without accurately describing it on the menu? How can they make customers pay before they’ve even seen their food? This place is an absolute disgrace, with terrible food, appalling customer service, and a manager who clearly does not care about her customers. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s a rubbish establishment with rubbish food and even worse service. Save your money and avoid this place—there are far better options out there!

The food was decent, and the atmosphere was inviting—cozy and lively, perfect for a relaxed day.The service was decent, though nothing remarkable. However, we were surprised when asked to leave a card on file or pay upfront. Having been to many pubs, this was a first for us( except Wetherspoon )Since we didn’t have a physical card, we had to pay upfront, which felt a bit out of place. Overall, it’s a nice spot with good food and a great vibe, but the payment policy was an unexpected inconvenience and felt awkward .

To be honest… the food has always been good. The service too is on average good except over sunshine weekends and the atmosphere acceptable according to weather and sports… I regularly go midweek for a dinner and a Guinness after work. This evening being a Wednesday, I had an Amstel and was not going to eat but the decide to order a take away so as not to have to cook … ordered a fish cake and Caesar salad (no grilled chicken) to keep it quick and easy as I had 10 mins to place my order… so I made the deadline by 08:30!and time to spare . I received two small take away boxes. A fish cake and sauce in one acceptably. The other small box with my Caesar salad which is half the quantity of what would have been served had I eaten in the club. But however charged £ 20.00. When questioned the lady behind the bar…admitted that this was the same response she asked when handed the order……this is sad and surely an oversight that may cost you my patronage…. Pics are available and happy to share

Nice food but expensive compared to other pubs in the region. £5.80 pint Tribute. Fish & Chips £19.50. Service was poor. Sat outside in the garden which was pleasant. Unusual management policy? Visit 04/12/23 My wife and I visited following a shopping visit nearby. My wife's Aunt age 90 accompanied us for lunch. Ordered drinks at the table. On delivery my wife asked for a child's menu for her Aunt - (reason) Medical condition + (at 90) can only eat a child's portion of food. The waitress politely declined our request stating management policy. Under 13 years old only can order from the child's menu. Ok - but under the circumstances. My principles set in. I politely declined all the menus. My wife's Aunt is very mobile and regularly visits many food establishments with her friends. In 3 years of having the condition the option to order from a children's menu has never been a problem. We enjoyed our drinks and respectfully paid the £16.45 drinks bill (instead of an estimated £80+ lunch bill). Consequently we moved on to Warlingham resulting without any problems ordering from a child's menu. Final bill £87. Two full paying adults and a child or in our case a 90 year old lady. I would be interested in an explanation from management of The Harrow. This policy can only conclude as a business negative. I feel the management should reconsider the policy going forward as certain situations require common sense. Christmas is a time for family gatherings up to possibly 10+ - including seniors who cannot eat an adult meal anymore. Child portions should be made available for paying customers who want to eat a small meal. Many established food restaurants offer small or large portion options added to the main menu list. This could be worth a consideration going forward. I thank you in advance on this matter.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. We recently had to organise a Celebration of life for a close friend. At the time we spoke to several event space holders in the area. The Harrow were the ONLY ones who showed true empathy and care, whilst being exceptionally professional. On the day nothing was too much trouble from downloading our own Spotify playlists to arranging the pub how we liked it and throughout, every team member especially Zoe the manager and Zoe the team member showed genuine care. Rachel the owner was so invested in ensuring it went well that she left nothing to chance and was on hand all day to assist where needed. Her care and dedication shone through. The food was superb and everything went really well. Even now when I pop in for a drink, they remember me and also ask how we and our friends family are. I know this review sounds sycophantic but honestly they deserve it. We have also eaten and drunk here several times it was really well prepared and tasty. It is so nice to find a “local” with good people, great food and the best pint of Pride in the area.

A very decent Thai restaurant and reasonably priced, slightly smaller portions than others Thai places I've been to.

Food with a view! Lovely pub with outside tables if you have a dog. Great Caesar salad with chicken. Hubby had fish cakes with possibly best chips I’ve ever tasted….i couldn’t resist trying one and I’m not a chip fan!! Bought a slice of orange and passion fruit cake to takeaway from the Teashop, that was moist and delicious too.
