Amazing food, excellent service, couldn’t fault it. Lovely friendly waiter service, lovely atmosphere. Excellent value for money.

As a group of friends staying nearby, we booked the restaurant as the reviews on the whole were really good. What a mistake that was! Although the venue and the staff were pleasant and the starters were actually really nice, the main meals were awful. I had chicken shish which was really dry and tasteless, my partner had the mousakka which she described as pure mush with no texture to it or taste, my other friends had the salmon (as the sea bass was out of stock) they described this as overcooked and again bland with no taste. We expressed our concerns to the waiter who apologised on behalf of the chef and gave us some free Turkish cakes for our trouble, the fact that at over £300 for the 7 of us (which included drinks) the price was really expensive for what we got. Truly awful and we will certainly not be going there again.

A last minute decision to go out for a bite and having eaten I feel compelled to leave a great review of fantastic food and service to match. If you love lamb then you must try the lamb kleftiko, it was absolutely brilliant.

Will never be ordering from here again! My partner and I ordered a hot mezze starter and a chicken shish with fries and salad to share as a takeaway. Not only did we feel that the menu was massively overpriced upon ordering, we thought we’d give it a go regardless, but were shocked at the quantity (small) and quality of the food when it arrived. The food was cold, the halloumi was tough/solid, the chicken was verging on being undercooked and we didn’t dare touch the calamari after looking at it. Hugely disappointed by this ‘meal’, especially at the price we paid for it. Would avoid at all costs.

My partner had lamb chops and lamb ribs £21.50 . Two very small lamb cutlets and two ribs which don’t have much meat on…. I had moussaka which was very bland and not very hot . Very disappointed, salad was nice , my partner was not very impressed and wish he had had the mixed grill. Don’t think we will be going back which is a shame as the restaurant itself looks nice

Had a family night out here and strongly recommend it. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a thoroughly good evening and won't hesitate to return

Food was gorgeous as always. Service was great and the atmosphere was vibrant. Eclectic collection of diners with some celebrating birthdays and others meeting friends and family. Had a takeaway and it was amazing. Great service, easy order from their website and the food was really good with generous portions. Can’t wait to go when lockdown is over for a meal in the beautiful restaurant.

A group of 4 of us came for a ladies night out and thought we would give chefs Cuisine a try.. I will be honest I was a little skeptical after the numerous changes of ownership in the recent years, but I am so glad we gave it a chance! The food was outstanding (much better then it used to be) porn star martinis on point and the service was great! Completely faultless. We even got complimentary shots at the end of the evening. It finally looks like it’s under the correct management so I really hope people give it a try! Cannot wait to come back. (Husband getting takeaway tonight as got fomo) Thank you for a lovely evening! Got a delivery from here for the first time.Food arrived within the time they stated.They are very generous with the kebabs, a lot of meat, tasted delicious! Would have been nice if the kebabs had come with pitta bread, so I might ask if they have any next time. The hummus was very good, came with flat bread.Could be a little bit more generous with the chips, they were put in the same takeaway box as the kebab. The meat was on top of them.. looked a little underwhelming.That said can’t fault the quality of the food. We will definitely order from here again.

Obviously during these incredibly hard times it's difficult. However these guy's are still doing takeaway and now delivery. Had a delivery on Christmas eve.. the food was immaculate.. cooked to perfection succulent and juicy meats.. amazing salad..and even a few starters and baklava thrown in gratis. They were also extremely busy with delivery and collection so how they managed to pull it off without a single mistake and all cooked beautifully is beyond me .. best restaurant around for me .. fabulous work to all of you!!!

We had a delivery last week from these guys and were very impressed. We had the prawn shish and chicken kulbasti and they were really tasty with rice and a lovely salad. Would definitely order from them again 👍

We were treated to a delightful evening at Chef’s Cuisine tonight (December 2020.) The food was stunning and the service was second to none. We were looked after by all the front of house staff who regularly checked in on us and made our experience special. Large portions and great selection of food. We will be returning as soon as we can. Five stars! Thanks for making our evening so wonderful!

Wont be going back because the only menu I could find on line is actually for eat in so when you order a take away you are told no veg and potatoes you get cheap and cheerful low cost rice albeit a tad cheaper. Also they are using reviews as if for Chefs Cuisine which actually relate to it trading as Sote 12 months ago. So we feel to put it politely misled ..ohh and the meal itself 7 out of 10

Went yesterday evening with friends. The food was really good. Shared some starters together as a mezze which was delicious. My main was delicious. Staff were really friendly and service was good. Bill was very reasonable, am looking foward to return visit soon.

We used to visit Sote (the previous restaurant) frequently as we have friends in the area, and always had a good experience. It has now changed to the chefs cuisine and is amazing.To start with the restaurant has been updated, whilst keeping the nice ambiance from before.The restaurant has taken social distancing seriously and the tables are all spread out well.They have a nice new bar area too, my girlfriend had a pornstar martini and it was “one of the best she has had” due to using fresh fruit and not juice from concentrate like other restaurants.I had a prawn guvec/ oven baked prawns starter and it was the best starter I’ve had, highly recommend it.I then had the mixed kebab for main and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for one, the kofte was the best I have had. I don’t usually order kofte as I find sometimes they can be a bit chewy but this was fantastic. It came with a side of rice and vegetables which again were great. The service from the waitress was great too, along with the manager who came over and asked about any improvements to menu etc and what he recommended next time. All in all 10/10 and will be back within a week.

While wee wrere staying in Lingfield we went for dinner at Sote. We have eaten there several times previously and as per usual we had another great meal. The range of food is excellent and everything is extremely tasty with friendly service and ambienvce. A very good meal and highly recommended.

Twice in two weeks. Great service and atmosphere. Food is super, especially the pickled sea bass starter. Could do with a bit of refining but would that make it pretentious? Try it for yourself!

This restaurant is a gem! The food is delicious, authentic and great value. The restaurant is beautifully presented and the staff are great. I would highly recommend Sote, we’ve been going there for a year now and each time it has been consistently good. There are choices of hot or cold meze as well as a list of mains and sides. The cacik- is my favourite alongside some of their homemade bread.

First time here and Wow! Lovely food with very attentive staff. Food is presented very well and service is seamless. Would highly recommend, and will be returning soon.

I visited the restaurant with a friend when it was Konak some time ago and wasn't all that impressed and didn't really plan to return. Then my fiancé and I were looking for somewhere in the area to eat on Sunday night where the kitchen doesn't close at 7pm which is actually quite limiting. I saw that the restaurant had changed its name to Sote and the reviews were consistently good so decided to give it another try and I'm so glad we did!The food was delicious with very generous portions for both starters and mains. We didn't try the dessert because we were too full! The vine leaves starter was fantastic and I had the lamb shish and my fiancé had the meatballs. Both were outstanding and recommendeded. We are a bit fussy with our red wines and enjoyed the Turkish wine! Thanks Sote, we will be back

First time very pleased , four of us for late lunch around 2.30 - 3 o'clock starter,main and dessert all our dishes tasty, well presented , good wine not ridiculous expensive , lovely ambiance, nice staff just perfect. I already booked for next week table for 7 looking for, just difficult to pick my meals too many nice dishesFor the person who give bad review regarding fish if you visit Italy , Turkey, Greece , Malta and so on all the restaurants served fish on the bones so if you want without bones you should ask and chef will take off the bones ( it is common practice to be able to see the fish is fresh )

The food and service is amazing! Not just when you eat in but they do take out too!!!The meat is super tender and everything is so fresh. This is exactly how you hope restaurant food will taste :-) Well done Team Sote :-) With the paper and pen you supplied, you made my son's day when his picture his put on the wall. When so many places serve such mediocre food with indifferent service I cannot understand why there were not more people eating here.The food was very good with lots of fresh salads and vegetables, hot bread, good quality meat and fish, and large portions.The service was friendly and attentive.I strongly suggest that when looking to eat in Lingfield you give this place a try.

Sote Turkish kitchen is a really good place for family and friends to enjoy a really good atmosphere and good quality food I highly recommend to eat here I’ve really enjoyed there food and the atmosphere here. Thank you to the waiters and the chef for a really good night and good food.

Went for dinner with my wife and a friend. Excellent service and good quality food. Restaurant quiet for a Saturday evening. Portions are huge and none of us could finish our main courses. Worth a visit.

This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back. The salads and cold meze are amazing, and come with freshly baked bread. Both our main courses were great, and my husband's steak was incredibly tender. Lovely staff too.

Reading the reports about eating in I decided to order a takeaway and it was delicious. had the mezze and humous and lamb shish........ all the garnishing were tubbed up. will come back!

Took my daughter and son in law to this Turkish style restaurant in the village. The food was very very good, My daughter and I had the mixed grill which was a real meat feast, but also well cooked. Son in Law had steak which was very tasty. Service was fine if not outstanding. A nice evening

Just returned from Sote after a meal with my wife and my parents. Stumbled across this restaurant online and we decided to have an early dinner here as the reviews were really good. First impressions - Very nice and clean restaurant; expectations were high. Ordered a jug of water for my parents, coke for my wife and I had a beer. The water got poured out but the rest of the jug was taken away. Not a big deal.... we also got brought out some lovely warm bread to nibble on, which was very nice. We went on to order our food; I ordered a lamb shish, my wife and mum ordered a Pide each and my dad has food allergies and is unable to eat anything seasoned, so asked for plain sea bass and plain rice (he always has to clearly specify his allergies that everything had to be plain, he can’t have butter, pepper etc). We were the only people in the restaurant. Our food took a while to come, again this wasn’t an issue. I received my lamb shish, which was over cooked, burnt and dry. The waiter agreed it was over cooked! So I ended up asking for another. My wife received her Pide. My dad received his Sea Bass with some potatoes and rice. However, the rice was cooked in butter and the potatoes (although he never asked for these) had pepper and something tangy on (not sure what this was). We complained to the guy serving us, he wasn’t apologetic at all, all he said was “she (the waitress) probably didn’t understand you”. They obviously don’t take people’s allergies into consideration - it’s like they didn’t care what they had done! My dad ate the fish (full of little bones) then my mums meal was finally brought out and about ten minutes later my fresh lamb shish was brought out (cooked perfectly this time).

Nice looking restaurant. But let down by poor service. Ordered Gavi di Gavi at circa £24 a bottle. Arrived warm. We had no napkins on the table. Food was ok - pretty average though to be honest and not overly good value. Dessert and coffee menu not even offered. Will not be returning.

Lovely decor, super ambiance and authentic Turkish food. Went with family who loved in Turkey for 5 years and they thoroughly enjoyed familiar flavours and had a very nostalgic evening. Lovely to see people enjoying the outdoor space - perfect evening for al fresco dining!

Visited Friday 24th May, Nice looking place. Starter of bread was lovely. Ordered the shredded lamb and rice and the salmon. Lamb was served on a wooden chopping board which frankly was old and not very hygienic, the lamb was tasty but half of it was fat which I left. Salmon was full of bones you would expect for the price for it to be filleted. Portion of new potatoes was £3.95. Overall very poor food which is way overpriced. We are voting with our wallet and not returning.

We had dinner here with our son. Wonderful starters (Mezze) and very good meat with vegetables as main course. Prices are very reasonable and the owners are very friendly. The dishes are authentic, it tastes like having dinner in Turkey. Thank you for the nice evening!

This was our 5th visit to the Sote for our 21st wedding anniversary food and service were both excellent. restaurant has a really good atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend

We went here for my 4 year olds birthday dinner, they were great great. The restaurant has a lovely wonderful atmosphere and the decor and interiors are top notch! Food was delicious and staff were great. They surprised my son with a candle and dessert and then played happy birthday over the restaurant through the speakers. Which was a lovely touch! All in all a great family and lovely restaurant. We will be returning!

We started with calamari, hummus, olives and halloumi served with fresh hot bread and then all had the mixed platter. Food was delicious. The only reason is is not 5 star is I had to ask a couple of times for water for the table and I would have liked some sauces (chilli/ garlic or something similar) served with the mixed platter. They also sat everyone on tables close together which is not necessary. Nice bottle of wine and draught beer. I would recommend and return.

A pleasant family evening and we will go again. Tables nicely spaced affording privacy and room to be comfortable.

Went early Wednesday evening very quite but have seen it on a Friday and its busy. We both had the hot cheese starter I had Kolfe & she had a Pide (it was huge I had half of it !!!) food was very good indeed no desert but Turkish coffee was hot strong & sweet as it should be

Love a Turkish restaurant both in the UK and abroad. We shared a mix platter with Hommus and Liver for starters.

The ambience of this newly fitted restaurant is really good. An imposing corner bar array and nice muted colours cloths and napkins etc. All quality and make for an amiable space. Service friendly. The wine ( less expensive in red range) was reasonable restaurant price and excellent. Liver starter already recommended by friends from previous visit superb. Main course whole sea bass on bone a bit dry but served with excellent salad. Pear dessert with "candy floss" a delicate delight. Recommended. Will return. A most welcome quality addition to Lingfields dining.

birthday dinner at our village Turkish restaurant. not the first time we have been here but every time there is excellent service and great food. for the first time we stayed for a dessert and the were visually amazing and tasted delightful.

Went with friends who had been recently for a Saturday night meal. Quite busy which was good to see. The restaurant has a good feel to it, and the fit has not spared expense, and well done, not garish. The menu is extensive and pleasantly different from the norm. See attached photo. Starter recco is the Chef's Borek, the mains we chose varying kebabs including the mixed grill. Really tasty mains and good helpings. My one and only negative point is there are no olive oil/balsamic bottles out on the tables. They are trying to emulate Mediterranean cuisine and do it well, but some oil out would be a bonus. For one main reason only, the bread served up pre-starter is delicious, but it came out with out oil OR butter. We're Brits!! We like to dip /spead bread... On asking for oil, just a tiny portion in a bowl was served. So that needs looking at in my view. The desserts were excellent and the chocolate souffle one of the best I've tasted. Service was good and timings between course good. Looking forward to going back to this one. Keep this up Sote and we will be regulars.

We went this place it was amazing food and desert. We loved it. I never been like this restaurant before. After today this is my favorite place😊 Also the staffs are very friendly and very welcoming.

We recently stayed in Lingfield, Surrey and had dinner at the outstanding Sote Restaurant. This is a Turkish restaurant with warm friendly family run service. The food is extremely tasty and varied. They also serve wonderful homemade bread as a starter. We had 4 different starters and everyone tasted each others offering. This was followed by tasty main courses served with flair. The meal was accompanied by some excellent red wine and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. We can highly recommend this restaurant to all visitors to this area.

We thought we would a Turkish restaurant for a change, and we were not disappointed decent sized menu and a good amount of vegan and vegetarian choices, just one word of caution some of the starters are very large ,so maybe share one between two .

We ate here today at 4pm and had a starter and main and everything was stunning. Very fresh and well presented. You can’t get a meal deal for £10 each anywhere where we live. I would recommend to anyone to try the great restaurant with fab service.

We had another great evening at Sote Lingfield. The service again was outstanding. From the welcome at the door we were made to feel very special. The food was absolutely delicious. I'm looking forward to going back again already!

I had heard from several folk that this new restaurant was good and in general I was not disappointed. The starters were super and the pumpkin desert a true delight. The service was OK but I was in a group and I think my meal of simple roasted vegetables in a tomato sauce must have been made first and left to chill.

...don't fix it. This restaurant changed hands from Konak which served authentic BBQ Turkish grills and other continental dishes. It was arguably one of the tastiest Turkish restaurants outside of North London which is the strong hold of Turkish food. Sadly the new owners seem to think that changing the amazing authentic Turkish cuisine to some sort of modern fancy euro-turkic fusion is the way forward. It's not. The meat was bland and tasteless . Tasteless mainly because I believe they are not grilling their food any longer. It all seemed pan fried or at best griddled. Apologies if I am wrong. So taste is the first issue.the second issue is the portion sizes. These too have gone 'up market' and don't be surprised if you find yourself quing up at the local chippy after a meal at Softe. My wife is petit, around 5ft and even she was left hungry due to sample sized meals. The third issue is the price. Which as another reviewer has said it's probably gone up by around 20-30%. Probably to pay for all the new furniture and lights. The décor is lovely and the staff are professional and service is fast. Regrettably the food is not what Turkish food should be. The Kofte/adana kebabs tasted more for the frozen version you buy from Asian shops and they were definitely not bbqed. The pide literally had no salt on it. Infact most of the dishes came out with little or no salt.

We decided to have a pre wedding dinner with all of our friends and discovered Sote restaurant when looking for a location to host such a large group.

We visited this restaurant after a day at the races. Admittedly it was late when we decided to go out to eat and we arrived at around 2045. Apart from one large party, there were only two other tables occupied, 3 or 4 diners on each, and it looked like they were coming to the end of their meals. We were shown to a table in the corner and after being given menus were basically left. We waited the best part of 30 minutes for our order to be taken, or even to be asked if we wanted drinks. Several times we considered getting up and going elsewhere, and it was only due to the fact that it was late and we didn't know the area that we stayed. When we were asked what we wanted, we asked if we could have a mixed grill platter for two. This wasn't on the menu, but we explained what we wanted, and to be fair to the lady that served us she gave us some options and agreed to put together what we wanted.The mixed grill that we had was not only presented superbly, but tasted fantastic too. Bringing the food out in two stages so that it remained hot was also a good idea. We couldn't fault the food, lamb chops, chicken and lamb kebabs, meat balls, rice and a great salad. My wife also had a pear desert which she throughly enjoyed. Based on the food, I would definitely rate this a five and recommend. The staff deserve credit for accommodating our request and were pleasant. It was just the wait at the start, and the fact that we felt ignored and forgotten about that was the downside. I'm pleased that we didn't walk out as the food was fantastic, but we did come close, which would have been a shame.

Visited with our children.. the staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty. No colouring or anything for the kids, but we had taken Uno with us! Will definitely return.

I went to sote with my family and the children adore the friendly staff. The food is very well presented and tastes amazing, the hot meze was super tasty and the deserts are to die for. I had a lamb dish for my main which was beautifully cooked. All very authentic and a lovely welcoming atmosphere, great decor, very clean and staff are very attentive. Can't wait to go back again for more!!

I’ve been to Sote several times now and the food and service has always been wonderful.

It wasn't a planned visit but we have already booked in for another. The food was amazing, really pleasant customer service and great ambience. Vegetarian dishes were tasty and lamb chops were thoroughly enjoyed. A must visit if your close by.

5 of us went for a family meal, the food was good and the staff very friendly. The Turkish delight at the end was a real treat.

We have lived in Lingfield for several years now and this restaurant has opened as many different things. Finally Sote seems like it is here to stay, I really hope so!

We stopped at this lovely restaurant on our way back from a short break. We were very warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Delicious food arrived extremely quickly which, with children, is hugely appreciated. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Both our children (aged 6 & 8) are desperate to go back soon! Highly recommended.

So pleased we chose Sote for our family dinner. The service & quality of food was wonderful. Will definitely return.

We booked a table in the morning during a walk and when we returned for dinner the waitress remembered us and enquirer after our day. Neither of us had eaten Turkish food before so we asked for recommendations. My husband had the liver to start which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had the Haloumi wrapped in bone leaves, both excellent recommendations. I had chicken kebabs and my husband had as lamb dish with rice - again thoroughly enjoyable. We had a bottle of Sauvignon blanc served at the perfect temperature for me & extremely well priced. My husband had a couple of glasses of Turkish red wine; a first for him and he thoroughly enjoyed them.

My brother and I had regularly met every month at the old Konak Restaurant in Lingfield until it closed for a supposed “refurbishment”. In practice, Konak closed and a new owner opened under the Sote brand. Yes, the decor is much improved. Yes, the loos are straight out of a show house. Yes, it’s benefitted from a new makeover. But is it a better place to eat? Sadly, no. The food is “OK” but nothing special, the service quick and efficient but it lacks that old family establishment feeling that Konak had. And finally, well I reckon the prices have gone up by 25-30%. It used to be a very reasonably priced place and among my favourite places to eat. Typically we’d pay maybe £45 for a starter, mains and drinks at Konak. That’s now £65 at Sote. Now some people may argue that Konak was under-pricing itself which was why they ended up closing. That could be true. It is true to say that they’ve probably got more customers now. It was still about 25% full on a Thursday night whereas Konak might have been 20% full. My main problem is that now, as Sote, it’s quite unremarkable, ordinary, typically contemporary and therefore lacks individuality and character. I suppose the real question is, “Will we go again? Will this place become our new monthly meeting place”. Sadly, it’s now indistinguishable from a hundred other places nowadays.....and it’s expensive for what you get......so I’m sorry to say it’s a NO.

Disappointed, the food is nothing special taste or quality wise and overpriced. We were made to feel like we should be grateful (increase tip) for one measly bread basket which was not even freshly made we each got one piece for a family of 5 adults and we ordered two mixed cold meze starers of dips/stuffed vine leaves which were £15 as the manager said one would not be enough but he didn’t give us any more bread so we barely got through one and they just wanted to wisk it away, on to the next dish. Even the drinks were taken away before finished so had to order another. It’s very noisy from all the hard surfaces and generally feels as if your being rushed. If you don’t drink alcohol it’s like they are disappointed, in general just felt as if they were desperate to get as much money rather out of us rather than offer a good service. I’ve been to lots of turkish restaurants in the uk and I would say this is one of my least favourites. I will not be going back.

Went here with for a fiends birthday and found the restaurant to be Nicely laid out and staff very friendly. Food was of a good standard.

The restaurant has a modern Turkish cuisine theme with wonderful meze dishes and great main meals. We visited the place twice over the last three weeks. In both visits we tasted around five to six different great meze dishes. In our first visit, we enjoyed the starters so much that we didn't have an opportunity to taste any of the main courses. In our second visit we had the chance of tasting two main meals... i had hunkar begendi: lamb meat cubes on an aubergine creme béchamel base which was cooked very nicely. The staff are very nice, and things are run smoothly. We didn't have alcohol, just bottled water and the prices seemed to be very modest.

Absolutely loved the food, service was great and all the staff were really nice. Really recommend the levrek tursusu in particular, it has a very unique taste!

Went to Sote with friends on Saturday night. Although the restaurant had been open just a couple of weeks, we had to book several days in advance and had to be there early even though there is no shortage of alternatives in Lingfield. Sote soon filled up but there was no undue delay in being served with the owners bustling around giving everyone a warm welcome.

First time visit since the changeover/refurb, first impressions were positive. A more stylish, urban modern vibe decorates the new outlay and all-round design. Personally loved the outdoor authentic Turkish lighting. I have always loved the outside area at this restaurant and they’ve really made the most of it with lovely outside seating, lighting and blankets for those who get a bit chilly.

I had dinner in Sote with my partner last Saturday. Being from Turkey myself, I always get excited when I first visit a new restaurant that serves food from Turkey, in the hope that I will find a place to eat in the UK that serves food that is similar to what you might get in Turkey. Until now, although most of the restaurants I have been to serves good quality food, the taste and variety has been impossible to compare to what you could get in a restaurant in Turkey. Not Sote! I can safely say that Sote's meze selection and their taste are the best, this side of Istanbul. We kept ordering meze so that we can have a little taste from most of their meze menu, and found that the quality and taste has been consistently very good. Especially, you must try the pickled sea bass, stuffed vine leaves, halloumi wrapped in vine leaves, and the calf's liver. As the main course we shared dana kulbasti, and it was very tasty as well.

Just go there. Amazing!!! Took my staff and family there just before go to our summer holiday.Food and service first class. Very nice ambiance. They only been open couple off days. Can’t wait go back. Amazing CHEF.

The Sote Turkish Restaurant has amazing dishes. The pickled sea bass and calf liver are truly amazing. The hospitality of the staff is top notch. It feels like dinner with family. At anytime you can ask the staff for an in-depth description of the dishes. A must visit for those in near or around the London area.

Wonderful hospitality and fantastic food. Will definitely return again soon. Highly recommend the very authentic food and the warmth and generosity of the hosts.
