Four of us from out of area dropped into this pub for lunch. We sat in the garden as the weather weather was good. We ordered food and this was brought out to us. The food was tasty and well priced. When I went back in to order post lunch tea and coffee I reminded them of our table number but was told very sharply "you have to take them out yourself. We don't bring drinks out." I had to ask for a tray (4 drinks). When a lady came to clear the table I said "can I say something". She said aggressively "you can say what you want". I expressed the view that asking a customer to carry 4 hot drinks outside, including opening a heavy door, was dangerous and had I spilt some and scalded myself this would have been a problem for all concerned. This was said in a calm manner - no shouting, no bad language. She said "I'll get the manager - I don't like being spoken to like that". Another lady arrived, apparently the manager, and asked what was the problem. I told her. She said they don't have the staff to bring drinks outside. The customer must do it. This lady was scruffy, rude and totally uncompromising. She eventually said sorry through gritted teeth. I do not expect such rude and appalling treatment. Eat indoors if you want to stay safe and not be insulted.

The welcome from the from front of house (Jordon) was a pleasure in itself. The team he has created is well presented with a unique eye to detail looking after their customer needs. The whole atmosphere and ambience just shouts out loud by itself. The food then compliments a whole evening to indulge in. You must come a feel at home with an amazing cuisine .

Popped in for lunch with a friend on our way home and we had decided we would stop at the first place we saw. We were not disappointed The pub is a traditional country pub, the menu was extensive so something for everyone The food was hot and served quickly. I had Mac & cheese which was very tasty and lots of it served with Chips and a side salad. Too much for me to finish. The side salad was lovely and fresh My friend had Scampi and chips and really enjoyed it. Very reasonably priced Of course we had to make room for pudding, which did not disappoint The landlady is lovely, but don't be fooled by Daisy the dog as it is all cupboard love ❤. Thank you, we will be back

Went for lunch with a friend and my 19m daughter. Was really happy with the food and food portion sizes. Was ready to give a tip and positive feedback until I was handed a cloth to wipe my daughter’s highchair!! Im not the type to leave my child’s mess everywhere, she dropped all her crisps on the floor and i picked up all of them off the floor. While eating she dropped some on the floor which i also picked up. The waitress lady asked if she was done and collected all the food off the tray which i said thanks to her several times. ( I put food straight on the tray so it will cool and so the whole plate does not end up on the floor! ) Two minutes later a lady who we had not seen at all put a cloth on the highchair and said “here you go” then walked away! It just needed a wipe just like our table would have! Everything should be wiped after customers have been there! Regardless of nice food and portion sizes, because of how rude she was that overtook my experience and I will not be recommending or coming back. Shame as the other two ladies seemed lovely.

Called in on our way home from Hughenden - we loved this traditional pub for its friendly welcome and atmosphere. Wonderful choice of sandwich fillings, light bites and pub meals. The chunky chips were fab. We were impressed by the efficient service, friendly chat (with us and other customers) from the women who were running the bar and service, and the cleanliness of everywhere. Nice Christmas decs and a cosy fire - no wonder it was busy!

We had a pleasant mid-week lunch at The Harrow. The staff were polite and very attentive, on entering we were greeted and asked if we were eating or just drinking. We were then ushered to a table. The menu was extensive, but I went for my usual steak. Our food arrived in a timely manner and it was to a good pub food standard. I had a draught beer that was served in excellent condition. Overall our lunch was a good experience and we will return to explore that extensive menu.

Food was tasty, hot, well presented, reasonably priced and prepared and served in quick time. Daisy the dog, as this is a pet friendly pub, was a welcoming part of the team. Oh my goodness what shame. I like the harrow and come here often. However after my visit we won't rush back. I didnt catch her name but the lady initially standing behind the bar (doing absolutely nothing might I add) was so rude and unwelcoming. She needs another job or a people's skills course. Ruined the whole vibe. Pub garden but no outside seating "because it's too hot for the staff". At 29 degrees I have never even heard of this. Sure if they hired young staff on minimum wage they would be having them work outside. The inside is filthy-sticky tables with glass marks and dirty cutlery left in the window ledges and we didnt even have a chwck back. Shocking. It's self serve cutlery amd Sauces so I do have too question - are the staff just being paid too be rude then? Sort it out harrow.

Went as a family as my sister was over from Australia. Rude landlady gave a very rude welcome about staying for lunch. My daughter then went into the bar to join her dad but walked into the restaurant by mistake. She marched her outside and barked at me to keep a better eye on my child. We decided to leave instead of eat there and won’t be returning

Terrible service. Went into the bar area which was full, no seating available and no one serving at the bar. We went round to the other bar area, which turned out to be a restaurant - couldn’t order drinks here (as it was the restaurant which obviously makes sense 🫤and was now closed), even though we were physically stood at the same bar just on the other side of the room (😂🤦🏻♀️) and when I said the other side was full, the barmaid shrugged. Lovely looking pub but very strange service given the current hospitality market and ample space to sit… needless to say we left.

If only I had read the 1 and 2 star reviews before we came! There’s a theme around slow food and a particular staff member. After waiting more than an hour for egg and chips and a fish and chips, I went to check because we had seen a couple of tables who arrived long after us being served food and worried our order had been lost. The landlady was not particularly apologetic and made a comment about the fryers, but insisted the food would be with us in two minutes. Ten minutes later (still no food), I went to the toilet and on the way back, I went to the bar to order a drink only to be told off for not reading the signs telling me that customers from the Garden had to use the other bar – the other bar that was served by a common serving area between two bars! By the time I got back to our table, I walked into a scene where the same waitress who had told me off was being aggressive to my wife who had merely asked why it had taken an hour and a half for the food. The waitress displayed what seemed like a practiced mix of passive aggressive and overtly rude. My wife didn’t want to wait over an hour for a replacement plate and said she didn’t want it. One of the eggs was overcooked and my wife pointed that out and said it was Spit (or a word rhyming with spit). The waitress threw the plate on the table and stormed off saying “Spit food for Spit people” (you know what she said). We came out to have a nice afternoon break, we wanted to put money into the Till and we hoped as ever we hope that we would be sharing news of a new find “go-to” place with our friends. My wife was so upset, that I was unable to eat my food. We felt that we had to talk about the experience with the landlady so that she might be able to deal with this member of staff and prevent any other customers facing the same dreadful situation. However, the rude waitress came over and preceded to shout, argue, gesticulate wildly in our faces and generally displayed a total lack of understanding of the basic principles of the Hospitality business – or even plain human kindness and understanding. As we eventually left, my wife who has a medical condition with her Hip and needs either a stick or support from me, was holding my arm and manoeuvring the steps out of the bar – only to hear; “See she’s P155ed”. Karen, I said it to you on the day, this lady is not good for your business, you would do well to ask her to leave. Anyway, if you like slow inattentive service and one (very very) rude member of staff plus a landlady who seemed unable to exert any authority or to intervene while her waitress ranted at paying guests with a bit of Slander thrown in – this is the place for you.

AWFUL , after a wait of an hour and a half to get overcooked chips and egg that I did say was "swear word for poo beginning with an S" the very bad waitress shoved it under my husbands face and asked if he wanted it and he said no - she said very loudly "swear word food for swear word people" I do not think I am a "swear word person" and I know my husband is a lovely person who is very kind to all. She made me cry. When I recovered and went to talk to the landlady the very nasty waitress came across and continued to aggressively shout and wave her hands at us while the landlady said nothing to stop her. Her closing statement was to shout after us as we left "look at her she's pissed" whereas actually I have a disability with my hip and I need my lovely husbands arm to lean on.. Truly the worst pub lunch I have ever had. Avoid.

Our afternoon lunch started off with a friendly waitress who served as a pint outside. After having waited for over an hour since we ordered, we then moved indoors for our meal. I appreciate that food can take long to whip up at times, however this was a quiet afternoon and it would have been nice if we were given a heads up that it would take so long. Now, the meal itself was unfortunately regrettable. I went for the “catch of the day” fish and chips. Given the time it took for them to make it, I figured they literally went out to catch the fish today. But to my disappointment, the piece of cod was steaming hot in the centre and incredibly tasteless. Almost as if it was defrosted, and then nuked in a microwave. For £13, this is a bit of a joke.Nobody checked on us throughout the course of our meal, but because I was so hungry from having to wait, I decided to eat half of the meal before I could not bear another mouthful of piping hot bland defrosted cod.Shockingly, the ordeal did not end here. The bar manager, Lulu, asked us what we thought of the meal. We explained the above to her, only for her to get incredibly defensive and commence her interrogation on us. She claimed that “everybody loves the fish”, therefore we must be wrong (despite her admitting that the “catch of the day” was indeed defrosted moments ago). She also made a condescending/snarky comment that “here in England, catch of the day is not synonymous to ‘fresh’”. She then proceeded to quiz us on our careers and asking if we were chefs ourselves. I found this unbelievably inappropriate, especially coming from a bar manager. Even if we were in the wrong, this is no way to treat a customer in any circumstance as they would simply not return. Our experience at the Harrow was truly harrowing, which was a shame given the rest of the staff seemed pleasant. As such, I would not recommend this venue to anyone and will definitely not be returning.P.S, please fix your tables as the two we had were dangerously wobbly.

We had a good Bank Holiday meal here. The portions are generous, and everything was cooked quickly and brought out for the hungry diners. The children were very happy on the playground, which is good for 2-10 year olds. They have very good social distancing in place, and this is the only place I've been to recently where the toilets have sanitising wipes for you to wipe the seat and flush after use. I felt confident in the cleanliness of the place. There's a pub dog on-site, so if you've got a crawling baby this might put you off the garden. My only gripe was the coffee - I asked for a cappuccino but it was a made from powder. I would rather have a filter coffee, if there's no coffee machine. However, the puddings were immense, and I can highly recommend the brownie!

I was one of 4 to visit this evening. The staff was very friendly but the service was very poor. Several items on the menu were not available, one of the orders was delivered incorrectly and the worst was the length of time it took to get two (of 4) main dishes served. Two of us had finished our mains and we waited over 30 minutes before the other two orders arrived. The starters arrived half way through the first two mains. May be it was a bad night but as for me, never again. And the food was nothing to write home about either or perhaps I had lost my appetite by then.

Came here around my mums 50th birthday and it was incredible... let me explain...We were greeted by the landlady (I think), she was through with her COVID-19 guidelines which instantly resulted in feeling safe and secure. Which was reinforced by the incredible cleanliness of each table during our stay- almost within 2 mins of each table guests leaving they cleaned the table thoroughly by very conscientious colleagues. They have a one-way system and the food when brought out was left on a table with no request being too much (condiments/etc). The staff in the pub were more than accommodating, making absolutely every effort to make our stay second-to-none. We came back 2 days later... couldn’t help it! In fact I gave the ‘landlady’ the feedback on how amazing it was. This was the first day of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme and even as busy as they were they maintained a fantastic atmosphere and customer service was at the forefront of every step and move they made. So we popped in today for a couple of drinks and a bite too eat, as soon as we walked in the land lady looked her miserable self, bearing in mind I haven’t been here in a year due to the miserable land Lady.Nothing has changed she’s still the same and the staff are still kids. The pub it’s self is lovely, just needs a change of ownership proper staff and a new chef job done.

We came to the Harrow for the first time as we were looking for a dog friendly pub near Hughenden Park and had booked a table for my family and our 3 month old cockapoo Dusty for a Sunday Roast. We were a bit late and one of our party hadn't been able to make it but this was no trouble and as we'd mentioned we were bringing a puppy they'd put us in a corner table near the door where she could curl up and be away from any noise if she wanted to which was so thoughtful. The lovely waitresses made the hugest fuss of her and were so welcoming to us all, the landlady even came over to give her a cuddle and then brought over some chopped up sausage for her to have which was so sweet! We took ages to order as my dad had to make a call but we weren't rushed and when my mum and I ordered the vegetarian option the waitress checked if we were vegetarian so she could make sure she gave us the right gravy to go with our meals. When our food came it was all delicious and good portions. We enjoyed it so much we cancelled our reservation somewhere else on bank holiday monday and booked here instead! Give it a visit, especially if you have a dog!

Took family for lunch. I and my daughter ordered fish and chips. If you like overcooked dark brown battered fish and limp chips, then this is for you. Be careful what you wear because the upholstered dining chairs at our table were all badly stained. I spent the rest of the meal wondering who or how they got stained. Not a pleasant thought. Sorry but I can’t recommend.

Went here with family late afternoon not busy I ordered the Chilli which was disappointing for what I paid a bowl of rice and a ladle of bean sauce could not find the meat mince, could of even been quorn as there was so little. Annoying bell sounding out every time a food order was ready what's the point when 5/6 teenage staff are yards away and the kitchen door is open so all you can hear is their music, cackling banter and shouting. Also a lot of the meals on website i.e steak, pies is not on the menu in the restaurant and if you like chips with everything and no proper cooking you will like this place, burgers seem to over take menu. No side salad for me perhaps it would cost too much on their profit margin for a bowl of rice and a few beans at nearly £9.00 !

After waiting an hour and a half for our meal, the majority of our food was completely inedible. We were offered no money off the bill despite being completely disappointed.

Second visit here as they welcome dogs. Met up with family for bank holiday lunch. Recommend you book ahead as it gets busy, 6 adults in our group & 2 dogs got a corner table so the dogs had there own space, kept them on leads. Some dogs were off their lead & roamed, a lot of barking! Large outdoor play area. Food took a while to come but we weren't in a rush, they have their own special burger but basic menu otherwise. We had burger, ribs, mixed sharing plate & chilli with rice. Plenty of parking. Took dogs for walk on field opposite before heading home

Visited for my mum’s birthday with our large dog. Were made very welcome and were seated at a table with plenty of space. The food was great, reasonably priced and plenty of it! They even bought my mum’s pudding out with a candle in and she loved it. Thank you for making her feel special. Our dog Winston also enjoyed the fuss and treats! Will definitely call again and recommend.

My wife and I visited for Sunday lunch before our visit to Hughenden Gardens (National Trust). We both went for the Sunday roast which was excellent. Even the dog was given a large dog biscuit to keep him happy. The service as friendly and pricing was reasonable. We'd be happy to go again.

We've been to The Harrow many times, & previously we have enjoyed the food & atmosphere, but we visited last night & we felt something was missing! There was no atmosphere, & I think since it's been redecorated it's lost some warmth, it seems very stark & bright in there, making it feel quite cold! Don't get me wrong the food was good as always, although in saying that, my other half had fish & chips, & it was half the size of the man who also had it on the next table!

I booked lunch for 15: 7 adults and 8 children, to celebrate my mother's birthday. I picked the pub because of the reviews and its proximity to Hughenden Manor where we planned to go for a walk. The pub is clearly very popular - there was another large party at lunchtime and they weren't accepting any tables that weren't booked. From start to finish the service could not have been better. We pre-ordered by email (very helpful and quick contact and acknowledgment) which meant that the food arrived very efficiently. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, kind and helpful. They accommodated various requests including lighting candles and bringing out the birthday cake when they were busy. The bill at the end of the meal was very reasonable. The food is above average standard pub food (and I don't think pretends to be anything other than this); everyone enjoyed their meal and there were no complaints. The service however was the complete delight and it meant that everyone had a lovely relaxed time.

Brilliant 'proper pub'.. the staff always try hard to make customers feel welcome & accommodate requests! The portions are huge. Veggie options are home made and very tasty. Love the fact you can adapt every meal so that they are suitable for children. The kids area is fantastic too.

I went to celebrate my birthday with friends and we had the Festive Cream Tea. I had booked a time previously. When we got there a table was all ready for us in front of the Xmas tree, hot drinks came promptly followed by the freshly prepared cream tea. It was absolutely delicious! The amount of food was perfect and not too sweet! We had a lovely time and weren’t made to feel rushed at all. I regularly have lunch here, the staff are friendly and food nicely prepared.

Caribbean curry needed to be returned to kitchen as it arrived tepid, and it was very bland - not at all fruity or spicy as described on menu. In addition to this, l left with a very sticky sleeve and underside of trainers where a spill hadn’t been hadn’t been cleaned properly.

Arrived at the premier inn to stay away for work, went to the brewers fayre. I walked in and was told they have a limited menu due to shortages of food. Wasn't given a menu of the limited menu even just habit of a4/a5 bit of paper so we could see what was on offer. We then sat for around 15-20 minutes before someone came over to ask for drinks and they only came over because we prompted to do so. After drinks and food was ordered drinks turned up a further 15 minutes later and again I had to go to the bar to get it. If the restaurant was busy I would understand however it was empty. I ordered the big stack burger and it came out scorched with the tiniest dollop of sauce in the burger. The second night we weren't greeted at the door we had to wait 10 -15 minutes before someone came and took us to our seats. Overall not great, which is a shame as I have eaten at brewers fayre before and it's really good service and food. So I'm putting this experience to a "bad week".

Lovely setting, food not bad either. Staff are very friendly. Setting is pleasant. However, when I went there were some idiots swearing too much for my liking. Not making it suitable for couples or families. Pity, I'm sure it's just a one off though. I would take my gf here on another day.
