The Harbour in West Oxfordshire

Our local fish and chip shop in Long Hanborough takes ages to get served so we stopped by here for chips for the kids. Same price chips as Hanborough and just as crispy and tasty! No idea the pricing of a fish and chip meal-sorry!

Whilst visiting friends in the area my wife and I decided to try a local chippy, and we were encouraged by the reviews on trip advisor. It was Friday lunch time, and we got caught in traffic, undaunted we followed the sat nav to Madeley park, but even with the guidance from above, (Sat Nav not a Deity) the 'Harbour' was well hidden! So thanks to a local resident for directions. Half expecting there to be a long queue it was a shock to find nobody there, then, up popped a gentleman out of view sat(?) behind the counter! He seemed less than pleased to see me, odd, especially since I was his only customer at that time. Any conversation I began was answered abruptly. So there were long periods of silence -apart from the proprietor's constant tuneless whistling! On to the food, we were very disappointed, the fish batter was very greasy, the chips looked to have spent too long in the fryer and had black 'spots.' We hoped for much better, and this at £7.00 for a 'small' portion!!

Can't fault the quality but the price is getting a bit expensive and the portions are getting smaller

I've been a customer of this place for awhile had superb fish and chips great chicken and chips all freshly cooked in huge portions, by friendly staff. For OAPs the reduced price for their fish and chips is great .Reduced price but not in size .Highly reccomended

An excellent local fish and chip shop! The portions are pretty huge though - even a 'small' cod and chips almost defeated me even though I was very hungry! Reasonably priced, plenty of car parking, but Madley Park is rather a maze of little streets.

The Harbour is clean and enterprise venue. When you go in you place your order and are given a token with a number on and as soon as it is ready they'll the number out. Very efficient. You have to wait a little while longer if you want something special, wiliest is good especially for you.The batter on the fish is nice and crispy. The chips are always piping hot and are than you can eat for one person. We quite often order to fish and one lot of chips which is enough. The is a choice of fish on the menu as well as chicken, sausages etc.For a take-away I can highly recommend.

The best in Oxfordshire, there is always a little wait and they take the money before serving you (not the norm in England) but the quality of the food far outweighs these niggles.

I recently had fish and chips from The Harbour and have to say they were delicious, definitely the best in the area !

This was the third fish and chip lunch I have organised in the retirement apartments where I live and was another great big success which of course was due to the quality of the fish and chips for which I have received only praise and not one complaint has been received - WELL DONE HOSE'.Gill Wort

Cannot fault the wonderful service given us - we are a Retirement block of flats and I organised a fish and chip lunch back on December 15th which I have reviewed under Fantastic. That was for 18 residents. Yesterday I organised another fish & chip lunch, this time for 30 residents which was a challenge seating everyone at tables but it worked. The order was delivered on time and piping hot, very good size portions of fish and chips and no one was hungry after that and the portions were Pensioners portions!!! The quality of fish was really good and I have not heard any complaints again everyone keeps thanking me and saying when can we do it again so you have really hit the spot and would recommend you to any other retirement establishments or similar. Have been here a number of times, fish and chips are fresh and light and crispy. Chicken pieces are also very good.

I live in a retirement apartment and organised a fish and chip lunch today for 18 residents, I had it delivered and everyone said how good the fish and chips were and wanted to know where I had got them from as they were so impressed with the quality and also it was said that we must do this again maybe on a regular basis.

Clean, well lit, easy parking, lovely plaice and chips. Really what more is there to say. Nicely cooked, tasty fish, a few too many chips for me (I hate waste) but that's a good fault. Thank you from a previously hungry man.

Fish was lovely and fresh and batter was the best I have had in a long time. Crisp and light. Chips yummy too. Best fish and chips around. Nice owner. Will be our regular. The shop is difficult to spot in the corner but worth looking out for.

Delicious food and high quality ingredients and all freshly cooked. Light and tasty batter and crispy yet fluffy chips. Yum. Staff are very friendly. Handy location with plenty of parking.

I have to agree this fish and chip takeaway is the best in town, fresh, obviously using a high quality oil for frying you can tell by the taste, this is a takeaway I will return to every time.

Highly recommended, you will not find better in Witney! Ranging from Fish, Burgers, Sausages, Fish cakes and the list goes on.

Had my 1st fish & chips last night & I haven't stop raving just how good they were. I don't normally eat batter but it was amazing. The food was cooked perfectly & it was still hot when I got home. So good I could actually go back again for breakfast.

I was delighted when a fish and chip shop opened on Madley Park estate and was even more pleased to find it was such lovely food! Everything is always cooked fresh and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We are regular customers now and the chips are always really nice and my wife would recommend the fish, good portions and lovely soft batter. Good price for the quality and even the packaging gives it an extra nice touch. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

We thought we would swing by on the opening night, and I was so pleased I did!! The staff were fast, efficient, friendly and super quick and we had our food in no time.
