Friendly local. Often pop in for lunch on my journey along M25 as it’s a short distance from the motorway and much better than a service station. Well kept ale and excellent value food served with a smile.

Fantastic little pub with a village atmosphere- the rear garden looked to be catered for the uni crowd but the steak pie was delicious, quick and reasonably priced- a good selection of beers too - no idea how rowdy it gets later on but was an excellent for a meal on the weekday (kitchen opens at 5 but the chef kindly started early for us

I've always loved this place since I played football for the pub team in the late 70s and early 80s. Added the garden and food now. Brisket burger was very good

Well I'm sorry to say , this truley is the worst Sunday roast I have ever had, the prosseced meat along with the oven cook roasties were absolutely awful. Should have released something wasn't right as this pub was the only one with availability on fathers day . Now I know why.

Super friendly welcome. All the staff were cheerful and helpful. One of the only local pubs to serve hot drinks. Many tables were reserved later in the day so obviously a popular pub for eating out. Upbeat music in the background. Lots of tables and corners to sit in. Large bar and outside area.

Absolutely top pub! Cracking little pub. We were visiting my daughter who is at Uni there. We booked a table and went Sunday lunch time. Roast dinner is the only food they serve on Sunday. The pub is one of those little gems you find, you know what I mean! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and at least one local sitting on a stall with a pint on the bar. The best! When we booked a table, (definitely recommend booking a table as it is a popular little pup!) they asked you what meat you want (a choice of one or two meats) I chose chicken and beef, my wife and daughter chose just chicken. When we arrived the bar lady directed us to our table and after getting drinks we waited for our food to arrive. After a short wait, the food arrived. On the plate the meat portions are very generous and came with roast potatoes and parsnips and a separate bowl of veg. The food was excellent, a really good Sunday roast. If I was being really really picky, I would have preferred a few more pieces of parsnips as I only got one piece. Like I said I'm being really picky. The meal isnt over priced and definitely worth it. Our daughter has told us they do other foods like burgers etc throughout the week. We plan to return on another occasion to taste the other food they do there. Apparently, the burger is to die for. Can't wait until we return!

Came here for Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious! Chicken was beautiful tender, Yorkshires were very fluffy, potatoes nice and well done and an alright amount of greens. Decent price too. Would definitely recommend.

Came in yesterday for a Sunday Roast which was outstanding as always. This is a real proper pub with a good selection of ales & they even had the rugby on! Long may they continue to flourish, as they surely deserve to. We are looking forward to next week already!

My favourite pub by a long stretch, great food, super friendly staff, food very well priced, booking advised at a weekend as it is snug (in a lovely way), and very popular, if you have a big group I'd say to book too, I highly recommend.

This is my local and is a proper old fashioned pub. 3 - 4 real ales changing regularly and they're always very well kept. There's also quality food at very reasonable prices including a lovely Sunday Roast (Beef, Pork,Lamb, Chicken) with one or two meats. I heartily recommend it.

This is my local pub - I visit several times a week. There are always 3 - 4 real ales which are very well kept, plus quality food at reasonable prices - all served by friendly and helpful bar staff.

I called up this pub to complain about a meal I had previous to that day . (Which can I add was horrific ) the manager then what I can only assume was a threat “well where are you now ?” Which made me feel intimidated. So not only do me and my husband feel I’ll . Annoyed and threatened . Will not be returning and won’t be returning! 😤

Went for a Sunday lunch: All four of us had vegetarian roast & felt very welcome. Our 2 elderly dogs were happy too. I don’t write reviews, but felt I had to make an exception as it was great to have tasty veggie options at such a friendly, down-to-earth local.

Remarkable pub. Cozy interior and friendly service

Everything about this place was nothing short of amazing. Had the Sunday roast, jacket potatoes, calamari and finished with a chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream. The food was on point and really tasty. The price is very very good. The locals were very friendly and accommodating. The experience was so good that we actually looked at house prices around TW20. Me, the missus and the baby will visit here again for sure.

Awesome, cosy pub with staff that are so friendly. James's roast dinners are just simply, well, damn bloody tasty! The honey roasted parsnips were moorish to the point of "I would just have a whole plate of them".

Emily at this pub, organised a Christmas day Lunch for the elderly in the community nearby. 'Out of the Blue', we (As her daughter and son in law) received an invitation on hn her behalf. She is 99 and would not travel up to us in Worcestershire, despite us wanting to collet and return her. Big 'Thumbs Up' for Emily and the pub for what they did. How wonderful to know there are people like Emily around. I would suggest people support this pub as they have acted 'Above & Beynd' what others have done Merry Christmas to Emily and have a Wonderful New Year.

Great little pub! Friendly staff and friendly costumers with a good beer selection of beers with very reasonable prices. Had a pulled pork burger there which was very tasty. Been there more than once for a drink and will definetly be ordering food from there again.

i visit this pub in a regular and refuse to go anyway else! the food is amazing and the prices are even better along with real ale that changes every time i visit the pub. the staff are amazing and the pub is so well managed!

I visited this pub with some colleagues for a work lunch. Due to my severe Nut allergy we rang the pub before and asked if it would be ok for me to bring my own lunch. I was told this wouldn’t be an issue and they were happy to accommodate. On the day however it was a different story. Everyone in my party ordered their lunch and I began to eat the food I had brought with me. Within minutes I was then rudely approached by a member of staff and told they weren’t happy with me eating my own food. When I explained we had already rung before and told it wouldn’t be an issue the staff member said that others would want to bring food if they saw me eating mine and I should have eaten before I attended. This is outrageous behaviour and I shouldn’t be made to feel excluded because I have an allergy. I wouldn’t have eaten my own food had I not of got the ok beforehand. I was really embarrassed and felt excluded from the group I was with. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else and that the pub can be more accommodating going forward.

It's a brilliant place for students! I always go with multiple societies and constantly have a good time. The staff are friendly and drinks are cheap! 10/10

I visited here today with a group of friends for lunch. Lovely food, served piping hot, beautifully presented and in fantastic time. The bar staff were very attentive and polite. The landlady and landlord couldn't do more for us and were accommodating to all food requirements and requests. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will be back again!

Came here with some friends for a brunch. The food was amazing, everyone was happy including fussy vegetarians. I would definitely come back, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.

The classic English pub serving English Ale and English Food

Booked for a group of fiends to eat there (plus the 3 wee doggies too - it's a dog friendly place). Lovely staff, I mean doubly nice. Great eye contact, attention to detail and couldn't have been more helpful. Onto the ales - those that had them said they were just right and I don't doubt their opinion. Food - Oooh it was very nice indeed. We had a variation of meals between the 10 of us. There were burgers of various types, all came with chips and some salad and were wolfed down without complaint. One of us had a steak and they appeared delighted with that. Then there was us scampi, chips and mushy pea-types. It was delicious. Everything piping hot from the kitchen to our table. Very nice and a big thank you to the team on duty at the Happy Man when we visited. You're one of the smallest great pubs I've ever visited and your food and hospitality are really rather lovely.

Lovely little bar but a bit expensive

Great beer and good reasonably priced pub grub. In term time is full of "I'm an individual!" heavily styled students. Oh to be young again.

My personal choice for the best pub in Egham. The atmosphere is always great and the staff are very good. The food has also been spectacular everytime ive been. The roasts on a sunday are excellent and a bargain at the price they are. A must visit for any uni student in the Egham/Englefield area.

As a new customer to this pub I am beyond impressed with it. Great staff who are friendly and so knowledgeable on the area and the roast beef on sunday was absolutely to die for. I dont eat roasts out usually but this was just like my daddy's 😁

Lovely pub great food. Grateful that they were able to turn the speaker off where we were sitting. Wasn't expecting to be listening to System of a Down on Saturday night. Hence the reason to cut short the evening. Pity

This is a great little pub. A few friends and me use it as a central meeting point a few times a year and it is convenient from those in Surrey and London. Good choice of guest ales and decent food. If you are used to London prices this place is a steal - it’s easy to have one or two more! We met up for the beer festival last weekend, good selection of beers and ciders in the garden. Staff are able to walk you through the selection. Heaters over most benches and a curry was rolled out about 9pm. Indoors is a great atmosphere in the evening with the music playing some form of classic rock with a bit of cheese thrown in. Ubers are plenty even late in the evening. All in all, a great old fashioned boozer in a world which is turning into gastro pubs and wine bars. If you like ale and good music then you can’t really go wrong.
