Another great lunch , new things added to the menu , lots of choice …. If you prefer breakfast then book before 11.30am , it then changes over to the lunch menu , although there are a few choices of breakfast on the lunch menu

We were visiting our nearest branch of a well known and high quality supermarket to buy foodstuffs that are not available to a similar quality in other supermarkets. Lunch was also on the agenda, so we visited this independent café before shopping. We were shown to a table in the rear dining-room and ordered two American coffees with hot milk, a ‘Goats Cheese Panini’ for my Partner and ‘Eggs Benedict’ for myself. The coffee was super-hot and, after cooling, was very good. The Panini according to the Lunch menu was “Goats Cheese, sunblush tomato & olive” (with) “Mozzerella, pesto & tomato” served with salad and coleslaw. The panini served certainly featured sunblush(ED) tomato and Mozz(A)rella, plus the other ingredients, but NO pesto. My Partner was disappointed; the flavour of pesto would have elevated the enjoyment of this ‘sandwich roll’. My Eggs Benedict was pretty good, except that the eggs were over-poached; thus having hard yolks. So, that was a little disappointing. The salad was very good with a pleasant dressing, and the ham was ordinary, but plenty good-enough for this snack. I did point-out the issues with my eggs and the lack of pesto when settling the bill at the counter, whilst my Partner took advantage of the conveniences. I received a sincere apology for the over-poached eggs which I accepted. I was then told that the panini ordered didn’t feature pesto as the plate “had olives”. The manager verified this with a colleague behind the servery. When my Partner rejoined me to exit the café, I explained what I had been told about the pesto. My Partner advised me that she had read the ingredients list, and had particularly opted for the Goats Cheese Panini on the basis of the inclusion of pesto. So, I checked café’s website and indeed my Partner is correct; as the pesto is listed as an ingredient (image attached). I feel I was fobbed-off with an invalid excuse, and I do not like to feel like that.

Love it here, great service and the staff work the queue line to save time. Breakfast is delicious! I wish someone from Westonbirt would visit this place and learn exactly how to run a proper Café/Restaurant.

We only had coffee today but the food is fabulous too. Always such a warm welcome and atmosphere. Great coffee and a favourite place.

Restaurant was busy and very noisy, however the warm welcome encouraged us to stay. We only wanted coffee and toasted tea cake. We waited and waited, then the tea cake arrived, it was nice and hot. It was very nice, but still we waited and waited for our coffee. This eventually arrived after we had finished our tea cake and was scolding hot with bearly a hint of coffee flavour. We left very disappointed. We will not visit again

Chipping Sodbury is just under 7 miles away from our home; being less than 20 minutes drive, and parking is free. We love the old and historic town centre, and also the walks in the local area: some of the latter form part of the Frome Valley Walkway. So, having not visited here so far this summer, we felt this visit with our resulting walk, was well-overdue. We strolled around the town and looked in/at a couple of cafés before bringing our custom here. We wanted a sandwich and a coffee. We felt that other eateries offered lesser quality: often using mass-produced pre-prepared snacks (especially sandwiches). These certainly have lesser appeal, for us, than made-to-order sandwiches (and other snacks). So, Hamptons is was, because here sandwiches are always made to order. It was 12:30 as we walked-in on this last Saturday of May: it was moderately busy, but there were tables available. We were shown to a table for two in the dining area adjacent to the servery. We looked at the menu and I spotted a curry based plate: I cannot recall the details but at the time it really appealed. Sadly, it also appealed to many others, because it was sold out. After a rethink I ordered a ‘Croque Monsieur’, during which time my Partner ordered her favourite ‘Bacon, Brie and Cranberry’ sandwich on wholemeal bread (the menu had only offered this made with a Panini, but the waitress assured my Partner that they were happy to substitute). Wee added an American Coffee each, with hot milk. I would observe that this successful customisation request of a made to order sandwich was another good reason to have brought our custom here. Try doing that in a CostaBucks and see what the reaction would be. The coffee soon arrived and, as usual, it was really very good; hot, strong and full flavoured; with a tinge of bitter burnt caramel. We sat and people watched and chatted, we were well relaxed and content. The food arrived after a few minutes and it looked great, and tasted great as well. My Partner’s sandwich looked very appetizing with plenty of brie. There was also an accompanying small and attractive fresh salad and a modest serving of coleslaw. My Croque was really great and much enjoyed: the cheese coating was generous as was the ham filling, the substantial fresh side salad was well presented and enjoyed too. We felt that it was all good value for the quality and quantity of food and for the great service. Long may this café/deli prosper and remain popular: in our opinion there is nowhere better in this small market town.

What a great place! Friendly and attentive staff, very pleasant atmosphere, great selection of cakes and dessert and the food was brilliant! The eggs looked amazing, I will definitely be coming back to try those! Make sure you pop in if you're in the area! It'll be well worth your while! I'd give 6* if I could!

What a wonderful cafe to stumble across! They had a great selection of gluten- free options, including lunch items not just the sweet treats, and were very accommodating for my allergies and intolerances. Such an amazing feeling to be able to enjoy a safe and delicious lunch without worry! The service was quick and the staff incredibly friendly and happy too. Definitely will be recommending and visiting again soon. The only down side is that it’s such a popular cafe, it did get quite busy so I’d recommend booking a table if you’re visiting on the weekend. 😊

Visited today for the first time and the service was impeccable, the owner was so polite and kind he really made you feel welcome and that you was happy with everything. Food was so tasty and all the staff were so smiley and attentive! Highly recommend to anyone :)

1st time visiting this lovely cafe on Chipping Sodbury High St. We visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was very busy. We were lucky enough to get the last available table for 2 - i think a lot of customers had booked. We only had sandwich/panini, crisps and a drink but the food was delicious and the service prompt and friendly. Thanks

Food always good staff always accommodating love it there

Went for lunch. Panini did not have much filling, just seemed flat & tasteless. Coffee very nice. Tea pot enough for 2 cups & it poured well, not dripping all over the table etc Have eaten better food here. Not sure if I will return though. Saw the owner cleaning the work surfaces & then dabbing his forehead with the same cloth! He must know better than to do this. Makes me question the hygiene here.

Always good food but you need to reserve a table really for lunch,special today bubble and squeak , tasty back bacon and a dippy egg, friend had eggs benedict in background, lovely!

A regular of mine when meeting a friend every 2 or 3 months. We always have brunch, which is beautifully cooked. We are also always there for hours but never hussled to move on, and the owner greets us by name. We love it here.

Love this place. We had soup and bread. I also had a lovely latte. The gentleman here goes out of his way to make you very welcome.

We recently went for brunch. It was busy but we had pre-booked. Food was good although service a bit hit & miss. The thing that caused me to write this review is due to the following. As we were leaving an elderly lady on her own who was clearly a local judging by the amount of people she spoke to came in and asked for a table. She was asked had she booked and she said no and the female who served her said they had no tables and were fully booked. Immediately behind her, as she left 3 people asked for a table (who I know were not local) and they also clearly stated they had not booked. However as they were a larger quantity of people the same female who served the elderly lady said, not a problem come with me! While I understand places need to make money, to turn the elderly lady away and accept a party of 3 is a disgrace. The elderly lady is local and would spend more in a year in there than the party of 3. You clearly prioritise your profits over locals and also more importantly how to treat people. A message to the female serving, imagine if that was your elderly relative, would you want her treated that way?? Will never set foot in here again and would advise others to avoid it.

Overall we had a nice lunch, the service was slow & there weren’t many staff for the number of tables. Waited sometime for order to be taken. Food was good, but felt really disappointed by the way we were told they needed us to leave our table! General most of the staff were very nice & polite but this one lady was abrupt & rude.

First visit for family brunch. Food was delicious and service was good. I was going to give a great review but unfortunately I witnessed something which I found upsetting. As we were leaving, an elderly lady came in on her own. A staff member asked her if she was alone and when she replied yes the staff member told her that there were no available tables and she left. Behind her was a group of three who also hadn’t booked but they were told a table would be found for them. What a rubbish way to treat an elderly lady on her own. Clearly tables were available but she wasn’t going to spend enough for her to get one. I won’t be returning.

Went for breakfast. I had the vegetarian breakfast and the food was nice but we had 4 people crammed onto a tiny table in the middle of the restraunt and it was very cramped and noisy.

A small coffee and and small bite size brownie for 8.50 Only went for coffee and cake with my friend! Ridiculous price and was average coffee. No prices on the cakes! Was looking for abit of lunch but 9.50 for a sandwich we just settled for cake Go somewhere else

The food is consistently nice and friendly service

Very friendly, lovely food and a cheerful atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend! They were also very accomodating with swapping ingredients to make them gluten free and gave the extra leftovers of our milkshakes in a second glass. We booked in advance and glad we did as it was busy when we arrived.

Had a lovely lunch here. I’ve been before and knew how busy it can get so booked in advance. We had panini of tuna and bacon cheese and onion marmalade both tasty. We also had the quiche Lorraine which was delicious. Highly recommend.

As the title says, one of the best breakfasts around the Bristol area and I have checked out plenty. This has become a regular fixture when visiting Chipping Sodbury parkrun. I am no longer sure whether we go for the parkrun or for the Hampton’s breakfast. Actually I am pretty sure, parkrun is the excuse 🙂 This is a great family run place. Breakfast is always great with lovely ingredients. They cater for dietary constraints so gluten free or vegans wouldn’t go hungry. Coffee is also good. The owner (I think) as others have also mentioned is very attentive but not in any overbearing sort of way. It is just a lovely friendly place with good food and coffee. What more can you want. And already looking forward to a return visit.

Always visit Hampton's for lunch or just a coffee when visiting Chipping Sodbury. All staff are very good and the owner especially very courteous.

Really, really good lunch; a far cut above typical pub fare. The owners obviously are committed to making great food and having good staff to make it all work.

Great lunch menu includes variations on my favourite Eggs Benedict and Croque Madame but can't seem to get the eggs soft enough for my taste, no matter how many times I request ! If you are planning a visit and you are not a local check their hours.

Recommend booking in advance … perfect breakfast , lovely staff and relaxing atmosphere… already booked my next visit , this is becoming my second home , love it !

Absolutely wonderful breakfast. We loved coming here. We booked ahead and let them know we'd have a 1 year old with a high chair. They'd sorted the table for us and even put the high chair there ready. Not many places do that. The breakfast was fantastic. If I had one criticism , it's to add the fact you offer a child's breakfast to the menu. Saying that, they did do one for our 6 year old. Which she loved. It didn't taste greasy, portion was good and we loved the black pudding and hash browns. Staff are extremely friendly and hard working , and don't seem flustered even though it's an extremely busy place. Overall, a great breakfast experience.

I took my "Grandmother-in-Law" (if that's a thing?!?) out for lunch from nearby Yate. We drove to Chipping Sodbury, but the place we'd planned to go was closed. Not wanting to ask her to walk too far, we asked a passing lady where she would recommend for lunch, and she suggested Hamptons - as it turned out a great recommendation! Lovely food, reasonably priced, a comprehensive menu and friendly service. I struggled to choose because I would've happily plumped for anything on the menu, but the Warm BLT was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend for good cafe-deli food - it would be perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an afternoon bite to eat. I saw people with wine etc on their tables too, so probably a nice spot for an afternoon glass of wine and nibbles!

I was pleasantly surprised about this place, the atmosphere, the interior design - it does feel like those traditional NY delis. The service was great and our choices were nicely presented. Price-wise a bit on the higher end for BS37 but worth it for a treat.

Looks from the outside like a trendy little bistro style Cafe. In reality it's just a very ordinary cafe that has poor extraction as it smells of fried foods. That all said the staff are lovely and the menu is good. Not great for allergens but they were very apologetic and what I did have was well cooked and very enjoyable.

A nice, well laid out cafe. Staff are friendly and attentive. Reasonable choice from the menu and display cabinets. Decent coffee, which always helps. I would go again and recommend it.

Always a very pleasant experience here. Jerry and his team work very hard to provide an excellent friendly and professional service with a smile. The food is always delicious and well presented. In all the years I've eaten here, I have never had anything less than a wonderful repast. Highly recommended. On street parking is often lacking, but it's always worth parking in Waitrose' carpark and walking through Hatherall's Yard.

I had a breakfast bap which was really nice and good value, the staff were really friendly. it's great that it's a dog friendly cafe but i was less impressed to see a member of staff allow a dog to climb up to the till counter area when the gentleman was paying his bill. Also i thought the toilets needed a bit of attention in the cleaning department

Very dog friendly the staff was fantastic, friendly and young girl was very helpful. Food was excellent and delicious. Wonderful would go back again flukes loved gave some water and blueberries.

Been many times over our the past few years. Outstanding customer service. The owner treats customers like friends - could not do more for you. Greets you and thanks you as if he knows you but it’s always so busy in there I don’t think he possible can know us. Had one minor issue with food ONCE out of the tens of times we’ve been there, it was corrected instantly and discounted off the bill. Very personal service - all staff are lovely. Feels very upmarket especially for the price.

Well Well, Hamtons thats was a spot on meal and drinks excellent all round and sensible priced. The place was Humming great to see, did go to another place no names £18.00 for a burger, the ex chef in me says oh no, Hamptons 2 smashing big main courses and to lovely big milk shakes good service less than thirty quid plus a £5 tip makes me happy that there are still places like this .Well done Hamptons Kindest regards retired caterer Bill Durston

Hade many meals here, food is good quality , restaurant is airy, modern and staff friendly. It's not cheap, but then it's not pretending to be,lovely place to meet friends for lunch , photo trio of fish lunch meal

Unable to get anything to eat after 3pm other than cake and drink, so left without buying but looked beautifully kept. Will try again another time

Good job I booked ! Monday morning 11.00am and the place was full …. Waited for the breakfast menu to finish at 11.30 and the lunch menu to take over …only wanted a sandwich … went for a BLT …. Filled with loads of bacon...

Good lunch menu - we had goats cheese and vegetable quiche with salad and new potatoes. Just made it in time as kitchen closes at 2.30 and sandwiches stop before that.

Came here for breakfast, which was very tasty. The cafe was clean, bright and airy with plenty of well laid out tables. The staff were friendly and the service was good.

Lovely local cafe with a great atmosphere. There’s a good amount of choice on the menu and the food is really tasty. Our favourite is the chicken club bap - if going for lunch, I’d recommend this dish and ask for a spare plate, if you’re happy to share, as it’s quite a big meal. Delish! The staff are always friendly, and the owner is super kind and welcoming. He always talks to you like he remembers you when you visit, which makes a huge difference. Not the cheapest option on the high street, but well worth it for the food, the welcome and the nice ambiance. Can get a bit busy on a Saturday, so go early. Make sure to check this ace cafe out.

Amazing cheesecakes, lovely friendly staff, a favorite haunt

We're so lucky to have this super café in Chipping Sodbury. Apart from the lovely cakes and fresh made sandwiches, the café area at the back is spacious and comfortable, and the food is absolutely delicious. It's all served by delightful, friendly staff, and at very reasonable prices too. Brilliant place.

Really nice friendly cafe. Maybe 2/3rd full at 1pm on a Thurs. Varied menu, efficient service. Recommended. Earl Grey pot of tea, chicken, avocado & bacon closed sandwich on granary. Flat white. Biscoffe cheesecake. All tasty and well presented. Nice cutlery, crockery, bits & bobs you'd expect - great attention to detail.

Ordered a bacon brie and cranberry panini. A very small panini, that had only a couple of slivers of bacon in it . Ate the first half , mistakenly assuming the second half would contain the bacon, to be disappointed. Have never had such a...

Get in there when you can, this place is so popular it is often full, but if you are patient and can wait, it is well worth it, a sandwich is not just a sandwich in here, and the deserts are to die for.

Always welcomed with a friendly smile in the Hamptons. Love the kind of service that makes everything run a little smoother and nothing seems too much! Gets a little toasty so you don't have to stay layered up in the winter!! Good food, great staff and we're always happy to return!
