Went for a family meal in the week and had a lovely evening. The service received from the staff out front was great but I must compliment the chef working which was rage. He came out to speak to us and nothing was too much for him. He made sure it was spot on and really went above and beyond to make us happy customers. Thank you to all your staff but especially the friendly chef :)

Thought I would book a table and have some food I was quite disappointed - the carrots, mash were Luke warm. The pie was really hard to cut, the broccoli wasn’t nice at all. After 6 mouth fills I gave up and left it.People do wear their masks but there are some people that walk around with nothing on - wear them just like every one else .Staff taking your order are ok Sorry will not be visiting again

Visted with my partner for food and drinks, was seated as soon as we arrived and everything was explained on how to order on the app, which we couldn’t seem to do. So a lovely lady called Chelsea came and took our order at the table and was very polite and couldn’t have been more helpful, even when it was clear to see how busy she was on her own taking orders, taking the drinks to customers tables and cleaning the when tables became free. Keep up the hard work.

Took the family here for a meal this evening, was very impressed. Food all came out on time and was delicious, Carvery was spot in first one I’ve had out to eat since lockdown. Staff very polite and attentive, will certainly be back!

Carvery is to die for, all came out fresh and hot. I had turkey and beef, the meat was cooked to perfection and all the vegetables came out hot. Portion size is amazing value for money. Had a slice of carrot cake to finish off of, again portion size is amazing couldn’t finish but took the rest home. Would definitely recommend☺️

We enjoy coming to the Gynsills as a family because it has a lot to offer for the adults and kids. The indoor play area & small outdoor play area are great for the kids aswell as all the beautiful land surrounding the building. That gives us parents the chance to talk and have a drink without the kids all the time. There is a premier inn right behind the pub which would be a great place to stay. The food is always on point, a nice warm carvery always works for us. The pub was very safe with the current restrictions with all staff wearing masks and sanitiser pumps on the walls around the restaurant. We felt very safe during our visit.

We visited Gynsills Farm in October for a bite to eat whilst in the area. Driving up the driveway the building stands proud in beautiful surroundings with a Premier Inn hotel behind. Walking through the front door the Covid measures were clearly marked with sanitiser & track & trace clearly marked. We were greeted & seated by a friendly staff member. The food was delicious with us both having the standard sized carvery. A wide choice of veg to compliment the meat was finished with a cake to take home. The carrot cake was to die for. We will definitely be back again.

I came here for a meal with my family, 3 children, myself and my husband. The service was amazing. It was one of my first meals out since covid had hit, and I felt incredibly at ease and definitely safe! On the door I was explained exactly what they did for pub safe, and that I could either order on the app or they would do table service. I opted to order on the app, however I wasn’t sure how to use it, so the lovely staff member talked me through it. I ordered a carvery, while everyone else ordered from the main menu. I thought it would all come out at different times (as normally if you get your own there is obviously an understandable delay from the normal menu) however they pretty much all came together! All the food was amazing! Children all got ice cream after their meals, and the cakes were honestly to die for! I couldn’t finish mine so they got me a tub so I could take it home with me which I thought was great service! I’m not one for leaving reviews, however since the closure again, I was considering a Christmas booking. I rung to enquire and I ended up booking and leaving a deposit for myself and my family! After booking, was when we were all put in tiers and we found out pubs weren’t opening yet! Worried about my booking, I decided to ring to see if they were still going ahead. The gent I spoke to was amazing. He put my mind at ease, hasn’t rushed me for any form of payment. He was such a lovely gent to speak to and gave me all the time in the world to voice my concerns. I understand this situation isn’t any of their fault, and I can only imagine what they’re going through in this industry at this time! However I really feel that he really went above and beyond for me, even keeping my Christmas spirits alive! I’ll definitely be returning! Hopefully for Christmas dinner with my family! Thank you!

We had the gluten free standard carvery. We couldn't go to the buffet, so we're asked which vegetables we'd like from a list. What a choice!! Obviously we couldn't eat the pigs in blankets or stuffing or Yorkshire pudding but the rest of the vegetables made up for it. Perfect roast potatoes and parsnips, red cabbage, carrots and swede mix, Brussels, mash potatoes, carrots, cauliflower. Lots of choice with a gluten free gravy. The standard plate was £6.99 but we agreed we could have done with a small plate as there was a lot of food! Shame because the restaurant had some amazing looking puddings and 3 gluten free puddings including Bakewell tart! Makes a change to the ice-cream option only! Lovely lady who served us. Couldn't fault it. Thanks

I come here quite regularly for my breakfast, I’m always greeted at the door by a lovely smile from sally, I am always very impressed with the service and also the food 10/10 would recommend

Been coming here for breakfast with my boyfriend for quite a while now and every morning we are greeted by Sally as if she is a close friend you haven’t seen in a while! The food is amazing but she is the reason we keep coming back.

Very well set up for covid restrictions and are adhering to them well. Nice atmosphere considering all that's going on at the minute they have retained that personal service at safe distances. Good food and will be back

I came here for my lunch yesterday and was sat at my table and had amazing table service everything came quickly and efficiently and the staff were very helpfull .

Very nice food severed by helpful staff covid safe all staff wearing face covering at all times pubsafe lovely visit with the family served by a lady called Chelsea very well mannered and very informative about all quistions asked very quick service all-round lovely visit will be visiting again in future

The food was brilliant exactly what i asked for food was hot and plenty to the meals, carvery was perfect and very filling, lots of choice, perfect customer service. Staff are very polite and helpful and there if you need them.

We arrived at the pre booked time and were seated straight away. We were told that it was busy so we were sat next to the children's area. We then waited a good 25 minutes before we ordered our drinks. Another 10 minutes later we got the drinks & finally ordered 2 standard carvery's, what an absolute performance that was, the lady waiting our table was fabulous although a bit flustered.1/2 an hour later the carvery's arrived on small plates. The food was luke warm and pretty tasteless. I got a load of stuffing and hardly any meat and my partner, who is a big eater, wasn't happy. I left 1/2 of my food. We did get a refund for the difference and the waitress couldn't have been more apologetic. Having not been out very often we both felt very disappointed and certainly won't be having a carvery anytime soon.

Super service, quick wait time and catered to all our needs. Very Covid secure and good measures in place. It’s our usual place to dine out with our little boy.

Came out for food first time since lockdown. .food was awesome . Social distancing maintained. Couldn't fault it one bit.

Went about 10.45 for breakfast mistake. Told we could stay but only have what was left the meal was nice and hot but felt rushed and the price seemed to have gone up from a couple of weeks ago now its £9 for breakfast with tea or drink and that's for leftovers. Needless to say not going again for breakfast.

Had not been for awhile and was looking forward to our visit as I remember it being really nice what a disappointment we won’t bother again it took ages to get a drink ordered and twice as long for it to arrive,due to Covid your carvery is done for which is fine but all 4 came wrong and as for the meat or should I say the 2 pieces not slices pieces was dry and tasteless,

Would just like to day a massive well done to the team at gynsills for making us feel safe during these worrying times. The table service was great everything was explained clearly and just made us feel like we can come back with no risk.

Myself and my hubby decided to visit today and have lunchWe had ordered two ultimate ploughman’s which sounded lovely. The food arrived and initially looked amazing, until we turned the cheese over and found that it had mould on it, and no it wasn’t Stilton...obviously put us straight off, the ham also looked grey and old...husband went to complain to a staff member who came straight out and had a look, she said that the cheese does not go out of date until the 9th Oct, which may have been right, perhaps it hadn’t been stored incorrectly??? We asked for a refund which they gave us immediately....if you order the ploughman’s check the cheese and ham....

Came as a family for the second time this month social distancing is good tables wiped clean ready for next customers hand sanitiser thru our. Carvery was lovely and very hot kids had the adults curry which they enjoy every time and now you can book a table it’s even better not so rushed

Ordered halloumi fries to come out with my macaroni cheese however I was waiting for the Mac n cheese for 40 minutes(it wasn’t very busy in there) tried to get the attention of staff members several times and got ignored. When my Mac n cheese arrived I had one mouth full and tbh there was no cheese, was purely Mac. I had bacon on top(asked for it to be crispy) for some reason it was chewy af. The Mac had a weird smell and twang to it which made me heave lol. I ate 2 mouthfuls then left due to it being nasty as hell. Didn’t complain as I once again couldn’t grab anyone’s attention. Left disappointed and #hungry, waste of £11 and I won’t be returning ps. the halloumi fries were alright

Just visted with my famoly it was my partner birthday amd was a perfect placw to go the kids played on the play area. All the staff was super friendly and the whole environment felt safe. The food was delish the kids food came out hot and me my partner had carvery the guys behind the carvery were more than generious.would defoo go again

There was a narrow selection for children’s menu as a few things not available. I spotted what looked like a blue piece of tissue/kitchen towel in my peas. I don’t eat peas so left them anyway but told them waitress clearing away who said sorry - she would let the kitchen know but I didn’t feel taken seriously. Ste was quite passive about it.

Lady called Jackie and the man at front desk was ever so helpful and accommodating. Jackie had a lovely chat with us. Great lady. With good communication skills. Giving easy to follow instructions. Made the temperature perfect for us. So grateful. The food was delicious as always, the carvery and fish + chips. Very spaced out and makes you feel safe and all is clean. Look forward to going again.

Booked a table over the phone which was easy. When we arrived we were seated and it was explained that we order at the bar which wasn’t an issue. We placed our order at the bar and drinks were brought to our table promptly. When our food arrived it was warm but not as hot as we’d have liked but the starter was enjoyable. Once these had been cleared mains were brought out after about 15/20 minutes however the order was wrong once it was brought to our table. There were only two of us and we’d ordered two starters, two drinks and two mains but for some unknown reason they thought we’d ordered three mains for the two of us... once spoken to the manager she did take the third meal off the bill as we didn’t order it but wasn’t very helpful or apologetic for another colleagues mistake. The staff in general didn’t seem very helpful and we didn’t receive a check back during our meal. During our visit, the manager had been to almost every table in the section where we were sat which wasn’t a good sign. Overall, we were rather disappointed in the quality of service and lack of enthusiasm by the staff.

Recently visited this venue for dinner and very impressed with the layout (very covid secure), menu (great choice) and value for money. The service was fantastic, especially when using the Green King app and special mention to Jackie on the waiting staff who provided amazing levels of service all night, no sooner had we sent our orders via the app then Jackie seemed to appear! Always with a big smile and friendly attitude, she was a real credit to the team there and made our dinner experience even more enjoyable; will definitely visit again soon.

Sally and Paige were very nice both mornings, i couldn't have asked for much more. I also had a meal during the night and it was very large and tasty. Ill be back again

Went yesterday expecting a decent lunch, but it was awful.The beer batter on my fish was vastly overdone and greasy and literally crumbled when I tried to cut it. The tiny bit of fish inside was wet and grey. It was all curled up and should have been thrown in the bin and a fresh one made. It was as if it had been plunged into the oil at too high a temperature. The garden peas were stone cold.My husband's smothered chicken consisted of two rubbery pieces of chicken breast covered in a sloppy brown mess, meant to be a covering of cheese and bacon.We couldn't fault the staff however, particularly the waitress who was obviously embarrassed at the state of the fish. Sorry but we won't be going again.

so I have been for food this evening with my family for a family meal, we was greeted really well by the host, verry impressed with how they have introduced social distancing and one way systems around the rest pub. Face shields are really worn well in and around the pub! You can really tell they are tying their hardest to beat covid19! Managers and team leader lou and Shannon was really helpful and made sure everything was to the highest standards! When the waiter brough out the food his manners was out of this world really well spoken and wanted to do everything for us! I had to get his name to put a good review about him! So I would like to thank you hayden for all your help today! The food was very nice and cooked to perfection so a bug shout out the manager of the kitchen! With the 50% off all the staff are handling pressure so well! Again thank you everyone for making our family meal one of the best!

Visited tonight. All Covid safety measures were taken by staff. All wearing face shields. Social distancing followed by staff & customers. Hand sanitizer used and readily available.Our food and drinks bought to us promptly and politely by Ize & Shannon we were asked if we wanted sauces. The food was delicious there was an issue with one meal which Marie quickly rectified.The atmosphere was calm. No Covid precautions people wandering around no masks, staff had visors on top of head. Food very small portions. Ordered scampi chips peas asked if I could have tartare sauce they said included. Ordered gammon steaks that were covered in black bits and very greasy, dry cold chips. Had as takeaway no cutlery in box no salt and vinegar. Very poor staff appeared not to have a clue of Covid restrictions no track and trace register. No wonder Leicester remains in lockdown. Very poor .

Staff working so hard and as a team very busy but felt valued not everyone grasping the system food excellent value and nothing to much trouble for any of the team you need to keep the team together as one bad apple would make certain people kick off Stay Safe Regards John

I can safely say this is value for money even though busy and full the staff were attentive and amazing the face visors are very useful to as you can speek aswell as talk to staff properly . Will defently visit again very soon thankyou for a amazing time.

Visited with my family for the first time since lockdown and was very disappointed. Extremely busy with not enough space between tables. Unbelievably, some staff had face visors, but decided to wear them as hats, rather than covering their faces. Seemed massively unorganised and other than a few stickers on the floor, you wouldn't think any measures were in place

The restaurant is quite often busy so staff sometimes seem rushed. Food is generally ok. Would like to mention one staff member in particular, for her brilliant service and polite, courteous manner. Thank you to Jackie for being so helpful and accomodating :)

Visited with friends, was very busy which was expected with 50% discount. There was a long wait but didn't mind as was informed of this when ordering at the bar. Was served by Chelsea who was really helpful and polite and still laughing and joking even though she was rushed off their feet, and very calm when having to deal some very rude customer. Keep up the good work and keep smiling.

I took my family for a nice meal tonight and was soon to be disappointed. I had the Farmhouse Kebab feast, which looked succulent on the picture, but what arrived was not what I expected. The two kebabs had 6 pieces of meat on each, only 2 were eatable. The other ten consisted of fat and hard meat, it could have been a T-Rex? I was worried about my teeth. I told the waiter, a young lad, who went to the kitchen, hid for 20 seconds and returned to tell me he has told the chef. Ok, I ate the rest and then my 2 kids both refused to eat their pizza. I tried it and the inside was sill frozen, rock hard. I headed to the till and met the manager. She reminded me of a wasp. She asked me why I had waited to tell her about the kids food (I reminded her that I do not usually test my kids food is cooked) and she started to act like a wasp. She was pointless, annoying and ultimately useless. I gave up and then we had to sit for 40 minds waiting for the pudding. I know it's half price at the min but we should still get better food and service then what we got.

Very very unorganised! I always used to visit here regularly it’s a shame that i won’t be returning again.

Had a meeting in the area so popped in for a quick Carvery Bap! It was delicious, the Beef was cooked to perfection. The Pub Safe Promise was being implemented and the team were very attentive to all the guests needs. I felt extremely safe and can see the pub is doing all they can to guide guests to act responsibly and be alert. Your doing a fantastic job and I wish you all the best!

Terrible the staff were trying there best but didn't have any help from the manager. The tables were filthy the food was cold the meals came out with no cutlery or napkins The waiting time for food and drinks was over half an hour No one was asked to register for covid Never again

Been here a couple of times and its worth the journey the carvery vegetables could do with expanding but the meals from the menu are gorgeous. The drinks cna be a bit pricey but take a good look at the menu and the staff are always very happy to help.

Went to this pub on Sunday with my family this was our first visit here and we all decided to go for the carvery which was excellent value for money and portions were very good we were served at the carvery by Andey the chef who was very helpful and friendly explaining all the different dishes and vegetables to us Were very impressed with the food and service as we had travelled a long way to spend time with our family who live locally We will certainly be back when we are in the county again thanks

First discovered this place while I was in the Glenfield Hospital for long term stay - was allowed to leave every now and again. Whenever my partner visited and I was able to leave, we would walk down the road to have a drink and a carvery at Gynsills. Each time was great, food was always good - some days better than others.Be under no illusion, this wasn't just due to the fact that I was mostly eating food from the hospital and so made the food at Gynsills seem better than it was (though this was questionable at the time). We have been back many times since, considering we live nearby. Out of the countless times we have been there, we've always left overly full due to the massive portions of food you can fill your carvery plate with - very good selection! And always left happy with the service :)

Extra good today. Carvery was excellent with chap called Mike at the helm today - was really personable and chatty without being OTT. The lady who was waiting tables is also brill and I am so sorry I can't remember her name but she has been there years!! Excellent service all round, lovely food at v brill prices!

Great Carvery - all 3 of the meats were lovely! And the veg , what a selection. Wish I'd had a larger size in retrospect a my are was nearly overflowing...

We have a person in a wheel chair and we find Gynsills to have wheel chair access and staff are friendly always willinging to help. A good food selection and great carvery. A great childrens area. the staff are always checking that all is well and make you feel wanted.

Great food, very friendly and helpful staff in particular Andey the Chef. Environment was welcoming and not at all noisy. Spacious seating areas are appreciated.

Stay away it’s that bad thay gave me and wife free cake but considering we left nearly all dinner ?.

Visited family again and came here afterwards. As good as the last time we came - saw some new staff as well as a couple I recognised from our previous visit. Food and service was super. Will come again when visiting area

Had a lovely Sunday carvery here today. Veg was beautiful and the meat was juicy and melted in the mouth. Service I could not fault. The team were very friendly and helped us to a table and explained how it all worked. Really enjoyed it. Thank you

Booked in advance online (table for 6). Couldn't find our booking when we arrived and just left us standing around for 10 minutes. Some of the bar staff were competent but, unfortunately, some weren't. Meals were really quite poor - I ordered a pie which looked fantastic but was 60% pastry with a mushy filling. Other people in our party ordered different meals but were similarly disappointed. Change of management clearly required !!! Nothing positive about this experience. Sorry because I don't like to leave negative reviews.

I haven't been Gynsells for a while and wow what a big let down. Tonight my carvery was absolutely dreadful. Luckily I brought a small because I wouldn't have been able to have stomached anything bigger. I honestly felt like I've wasted money and left completely dissatisfied. Nothing wasn't even labelled at the carvery station so I didn't know if it was suppose to be a cauliflower cheese or a cheesy mash potato.

Great pub and restaurant in a good location near Leicester city centre. The Usual high standards you expect from the farms!

Came down with my family 15 of us and was well catered for, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Ordered food and it all came out together and was fresh! Amazing service and so so friendly! Thankyou for making it an amazing time! Deffo coming here more often!

Great place and good food great value for money friendly staff would recommend to family and friends

Three of us ate here late afternoon on Sunday. Gynsills is a mid range pub restuarant, quite large with good parking, it was very busy when we arrived. The service and staff were polite but extremely busy so sevice levels were understandably a bit stretched. This resulted in extended queuing to order and wait time for food. The choise was extensive, we had chicken skewers, fish and chips and a burger. All of it was cooked OK and reasonably presented, Not the best but acceptable, The desserts were also reasonable. The people next to us had the carvery which also looked reasonable. Pricewise I thought it was good value. I would eat here again but there are better options in the area.

Visited on Friday for breakfast before work and the food was lovely with the experience being made even more enjoyable by the lovely Sallyann who was so friendly and happy. I haven’t met a waitress as lovely as Sallyann in a long while.

Great food great service! Quite busy but it was half term! Me and a friend just visited for coffee and cake as the cakes at gynsils are so nice!!

Eat here fairly often and was surprisingly disappointed in this evenings meal. Had four main meals off the menu... battered fish was soggy and the batter was not very pleasant. The gammon was awful, so fatty, there was barely any meat left after spending ages cutting all the fat off. The chips seem different, poorer quality and just not as nice as usual. The table and menu were very sticky. Had to swap forks as they were dirty and when wiped with a napkin visible black grim came off. Overall rather disappointed.

Lovely roast dinner, beef yum roast spuds vege and gravy to die for. Starter of buffalo wings then cake, full now and all for 10 pounds. Great food piping hot and staff attentive,lovely

Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. This restaurant is a friendly place that makes you feel comfortable. The staff are welcoming and make sure you have what you need . Happy me

Food was great, (got lots at Calvary), staff were pleasant inc’ the member of staff that checked out our table Jackie.

We only gave this pub a second visit due to having a free meal. We ate from the main menu this time and were pleased with the food quality.

Recently had a new landlord in I understand and is already back to how it used to be - Great service and food all as you would expect - will definitely be back!
