Julie and Daisy were brilliant, very helpful and polite. Food was lovely and hot, great value for money. The trifle cheesecake was delicious. Music a little loud for lunchtime considering not very busy.

We haven’t been to the Vicarage for a very long time as feel it needs updating, however we were so pleased to see the really lovely Julie again. We remembered her from before, so personable, caring and made you feel like you were the only ones she’d seen that day. An absolute total asset to Marstons Brewery. We’ll be coming again if only to see her. Thank you x

Lovely pub, very welcoming. We come here quite a lot and Julie and Lucy are lovely ladies and work very hard as well as everyone else. This is our number 1 pub to visit!

I came in tonight and was impressed with the service I received. I put my order in but then changed my mind. The young lad behind the bar, Joe, was incredibly patient with me. Can't praise him enough, as I normally get flustered when they are not patient.

Lovely location very welcoming staff and helpful too. Chef needs a great congrats for a wonderfully tasty chicken and mushroom pie and garden peas that tasted as though they'd been cooked straight from shelling a pod. Good time to go is later afternoon before what I imagine would be an evening rush only this is conjecture not fact. Pay em a visit its well worth it

Came in this afternoon for a meal and drinks, was served by a lovely well mannered gentleman. I wasn't sure what to order and he recommended that the steak had 30% off today. Spotted the pictures have names on the wall so managed to get the lads name 'Joe' give him many praises for of us all at the table. It was a polite service and very patient with the order.

The Old Vicarage is our local pub! We are in several times a week and are always warmly greeted by the staff. Amazing food and service, special mention for Lucy and Scott!! Highly recommend!

Was a bit of a disaster turned up and reservation notes hadn’t been read. Leaving a disabled lady without a suitable table. Finally found somewhere suitable to sit and ordered . After a while was told my main wasn’t available so ordered something else, then after a while told that wasn’t available so ordered another. Took a long time to get food the macoroni was overcooked soggy and tasted awful. The other lady’s food had been sat under a heat lamp to long due to my order being unavailable twice pie was soggy mash and peas were hard. Starters however were good. Saving grace is the lady that looked after us cannot remember her name but she was lovely. Without her we would have walked out on a pretty rubbish experience

The staff were friendly. Food was good and affordable. However on my booking I had requested a highchair and space to put a pram, there was no highchair at the table and it was in an awkward spot to put the pram

Food was hot and tasty veg was nicely cooked, stuffing and meat were lovely just could have done with more roasties though I don't have a big appetite but 2 isn't really enough. Staff we friendly and helpful. Loved the 30% off too, will definitely recommend and return. One negative no decaf coffee

Had dinner with my partner, all food was overcooked, pricey for the poor quality, starters especially were terrible value for money, when my meal was brought out I asked the lady a question and her response was 'I'm not working' which was worrying

Place looks very tired and is in need of a makeover.

The customer service was very poor and we waited over an hr for our food which when it came was definitely not worth the wait!! There were items missing and when we mentioned we were expecting garlic bread with the lasagne it was practically thrown at us and had no garlic in it!

Absolutely lovely place. New manager has arrived so let's see we're that takes the place. Although the staff seem to be very stretched at times, they carry out their sometimes stressful tasks with smiley ☺️ face's. Very good overall 👌 👏 👍

Had an excellent meal here. All food freshly cooked and good selection of drinks. Very grand building on the outside, but a little plain on the inside, needs a little more character.

Disappointed. Had a Sunday roast some weeks ago which was inedible. Problem’s with staffing. Thought give it another go but no better. Waited 2 hours and my roast and veggies were cold. However starters were hot and good and the staff were very helpful and friendly . Understand it was busy due to vouchers but should never arrive cold.

Have just been for lunch, very busy, staff were lovely. However, food wait was nearly an hour and when the food came the pork belly couldn't be cut-even with a steak knife. The medium sirloin was raw in the middle. Lack of kitchen staff really shows.

A group of 10 of us went for Sunday lunch. All courses came on time and served piping hot.Food delicious.More than enough traditional roast dinner. Staff courteous and friendly.Excellent.

Poor, poor, poor. Third and last time that I'll visit this place. The pint of Marston's Pedigree cask ale I ordered was not as good as it should have been, and then they ran out. This happened on a previous visit. Items from the menu are not available. The food that was available and served was poor, over cooked (likely reheated) and cold and the meat was tough. The staff didn't appear to have been trained, didn't have a care, and were slow. All in all, it wasn't a good experience. Yet I've been to the Glen Parva Manor today, the same Marsden's enterprise, and the beer and food were much, much better.

Food was lovely! Table was in a nice place of the restaurant next to the window. The only down side was it took a long time to get served and the manager looked very miserable and like she didn’t want to be there. She was very short when speaking to customers. I overheard her talking to another customer and perceived what she was saying as quite rude. However, when I paid for food I had to go back to ask for a receipt and it was done in a timely manner. It didn’t take long for the plates to be taken away and was done very professionally. All the servers were very impressive.

The Old Vicarage public house came just at the right time on our way into Leicester. We were ready for a meal and the food was good. It is a very popular place so if you want to go in for eats it could be a good idea to phone and book a table.

I was a little disappointed on the food, have been before and its been nice. Perhaps a new chef? There was 3 of us, two said their food was really dry (over cooked) and mind was just tasteless.

Visited again last week. Basic food. Most of menu unavailable. Average service. Not much atmosphere once food service finishes as pub empties.

The buffet following my mother's funeral was provided by The Old Vicarage and the whole process from booking to the the day itself went without a hitch. The food was good and there was plenty of it. The bar staff were all helpful and courteous whilst Lucy, in particular, made sure that everything ran smoothly.

I have been visiting the Old Vicarage for a few years now, and I must say that it continues to be a wonderful experience every time. The staff are incredibly welcoming, and their warm hospitality makes me feel right at home. The place itself is charming and cosy, creating a lovely atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal. I have never had anything but positive experiences here, and I always look forward to my visits. The consistently high level of service and the delicious food keep me coming back time and time again. I highly recommend the Old Vicarage to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience in a welcoming environment.

Food lovely, staff polite and friendly, didn't like where we sat first as sat near loud drinkers and we wanted quite meal. Staff moved us to quite seat.

We came as a party of four and our little dog Snowy, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were super impressed with the whole experience. Lovely friendly staff, quick service, and the food was awesome and great value. Mum and Dad had the fish and chips, I had a mixed grill and my wife had a sirloin steak. We all really enjoyed our food. The atmosphere of the pub restaurant is great also. All in 10/10, will be back!

Good overall. Food quality was fine. Beakespware's Gold I felt was beginning to turn - butcstuckvwith it and switched them to Peddie. Pub shoulf try other Marskb's ales - eg Ringwood, Wainwright - which I never see here. Recent absence is due to wife's death and then my hospitalisation- I am normally a regular.

Went with my family for my granddaughter's birthday - 5th January 2024. Having not been for some time we were surprised to see that the decor had deteriorated considerably and is now 'shabby' There was no heating in the restaurant and it was extremely cold. We ordered a main course - the food and service was fine but we ate our meal with our coats on as it was so cold. We did not stay for desert or drinks - we just wanted to get home and get warm. Very dissapointing. Won't be going back any time soon.

Lite lunch and a pint just the job!

The atmosphere was very friendly . As were the staff. Not overly knowledgable about the wines on offer though . However I was allowed a taster before buying . The last time I visited the food was superb and the chef came in to the dining area for a chat . This time , although the food was good , it wasn’t quite up to the standard I had tasted before . The reason for revisiting was because my previous experience was excellent . It was a night out with my daughters , which is a rare occurrence . One daughter lives abroad and was home for Christmas . Maybe a different chef . They got the order wrong as well but that was quickly resolved . On the whole a pleasant evening but the food could have been better . Not a lot , and I will come back .

Here as part of a large group. This considered the service was brilliant and on the whole food was very good, we were looked after quite well. Only one problem on the day, some of our party had Christmas pudding as a dessert. They complained that the custard or brandy butter, whatever it was supposed to be was salty! Their desserts were quickly exchanged.

Menu- no turkey @ it is Christmas!! No lasagna, Wanted coffee afterwards but they had no milk or cream! That’s really bad for a restaurant, to have no milk or cream! Had to wait 40 minutes for our meal!

Found service on slow side after waiting 30minutes for our first course, which had not arrived my partner asked at the bar if we had been forgotten after which our first course arrived almoat instantaneously. Apart from that our food was well cooked and delicious.

Good amazing ambulance and lovely family restaurant. Lovely staff, perfect dishes, reasonable prices. Good wine options. Altogether a wonderful experience.

One to avoid, my 5 year old barely ate and now having to feed him at home after. My pie was OK, my wife's burger was dry and the chips had a hair in them! We had a busy day so went out for dinner to relax. What a disappointment. Definitely never going there for food again.

We had pre booked a table for drinks only and this was reserved for us in the bar area as requested. There weren’t many staff serving behind the bar but they managed the customers well. The table was cleared of empties promptly and the table was wiped. Overall a good experience

Served by Ruby, very friendly, helpful great banter, made an effort to get me the right glass for my drink and it was a change for someone to actually communicate not just grunt when being served.
