Nice place for a catch up with some old friends

Small family gathering. We had the buffet option. Staff were helpful and polite. The atmosphere is relaxed.

Food was exceptional - it was extremely busy due to the food weather, but the food was served quickly and was excellent quality. Staff were run off their feet but remained smiling and professional - we will definitely be back!

We popped in to this pub yesterday for a drink and a snack, we sat and ordered at the table using the QR system, service was super quick and the 2 members of staff that brought us our food and drinks over the time we were there were fantastic and so lovely, warm and welcoming. The food was piping hot and fresh, we had a lovely time, thank you

We didn't book but although it was very busy we were made very welcome and found a table.We were served by Lucy who was extremely nice ,efficient and very good with our children. The food arrived promptly and was delicious , the children's portions were enormous and it all was very reasonably priced.

A warm and friendly welcoming place to be ,this was our first visit to the old vicarage we were here celebrating our sons 50th birthday .The food choice and friendly helpful staff made our visit ....nothing was too much trouble allowing us to decorate the table and bringing in our own cake , Top marks to the chef's who did an excellent job with meals arriving together hot and delicious .....an all round excellent team performance. Will definitely be visiting again Thankyou for the experience ......

Been here a few times. Food very good and a good variety if different dishes. Special offers on different days too. Eg Curry & a drink, Pie & a drink etc. Reasonably priced too.

We had a lovely lunch, a special birthday for my Mum. There were 5 of us altogether and we all complimented the food. The portion sizes of the lunch specials are perfect, although there are options to have full sized portions too for those with bigger appetites or who like their main meal at lunch time. It wasn't overly clear how to order the food initially but once we copped the QR code, it was seamless. We brought in a cake for my Mum and the staff brought this out and sung to my Mum which was lovely and even gave us plates so we could tuck in, a nice touch. We will be back and we will definitely recommend to our friends.

Served by Lucy, Gemma and Ruby very friendly, helpful great banter, made an effort to get me the right glass for my drink and it was a change for someone to actually communicate not just grunt when being served.BR Richie

Wow! Amazing service, went for my sisters birthday meal. Lovely atmosphere, staff where so attentive & friendly. Food was 5 star. All 7 of us enjoyed all our meals & cleared our plates. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend Victorious Vicarage!!

Went for after dinner & drinks Lovely food & staff

Visited Saturday night 12/4, first of all I found the place to be a bit run down, the tables and some of fittings definitely need a bit of attention. One person behind the bar taking orders, so there was a bit of a wait. The food however was good except for my daughters burger that was burnt. Would visit again.

Went for early dinner, food was very nice, can recommend the fish and chips. Chose the time well as filled up quite quickly after we arrived

Ordered three meals, Fish & chips, gammon and kids fish fingers, chips & beans with garlic bread side. The first two plates were just about ok but the fish fingers were way overdone, the beans were tasteless and bland and the garlic bread had a tiny drizzle of garlic butter on and was very doughy, like it had spent 10 seconds on the griddle. I did bring it to their attention, they could see our complaint and offered my son as a replacement, a couple of sausages which he didn't want, some Ice Cream, but they didn't have vanilla, or a chocolate brownie??? He's not even had a main course! Then he offered me something?? I'd had my food. If someone can't put a few fishfingers in an airfryer without over doing them and can't put together a decent bit of garlic bread then something is seriously wrong. The place was almost empty so no excuses. This is the 3rd time we've had issues there and there won't be a 4th.. which is a shame because I like the pub but won't eat there again. On the other hand, the Marstons pub up the road, The Glen Parva Manor is spot on everytime

Tuvimos una comida fantástica la comida era excelente. 2 personas encantadoras nos sirvieron sus nombres eran Lucy y Julie. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y fueron útiles durante toda nuestra experiencia. 100% volviendo.

Comenzando con lo positivo, mi familia y yo (10 de nosotros) fuimos a la Vicaría Vieja para el almuerzo del domingo en el Día de la Madre. Nos impresionó que estaban ofreciendo un día de la madre de 3 platos especial por £ 19. 99 ! . Había muchas opciones, así que decidimos optar por esta opción. El servicio era servicial y amable, y el tiempo de espera no está tan mal teniendo en cuenta lo ocupado que estaba. La comida era probablemente ligeramente mejor de lo esperado dado el precio del presupuesto. Sin embargo... Nada de la comida estaba “caliente”. Era cálido y comestible, pero no caliente. Si la comida hubiera estado más caliente le habría dado 5 estrellas. En general diría que fue una buena relación calidad-precio en un día tan ocupado

We had an excellent reception at The Old Vicarage after a family funeral. The food was exactly as described (and the chips were fantastic!) and it was all ready on time in the rear section which had been reserved for us. We chose the Silver buffet and nobody went away hungry. There were several people in the group complementing on the nice food. Would definitely book again.

Bar staff were very pleasant girls serving food were very professional apart from saying yeeee haaa when she served my son his cowboy burger but had the laugh about it highly recommended

My meal portion size (eg Green Thai syle curry) was very small and very poorly presented (clearly been sat on the hotplate under the heat lamps for too long), not worth the £11.29 charge. I complained and was eventually offer a replacement meal; I chose Beef Chilli which was a more reasonable value for money. After our meal we wanted coffees but you did not do decaffeinated coffee, nor basic speciality teas. We left, very disappointed and very dissatisfied. Won't be going again.

Me and my mum were greeted at the bar and we were then seated. Although we were a little early but we was told that was fine. When our food came a lady called Annie-May handed us our food and checked on us.

We haven’t been to the Vicarage for a very long time as feel it needs updating, however we were so pleased to see the really lovely Julie again. We remembered her from before, so personable, caring and made you feel like you were the only ones she’d seen that day. An absolute total asset to Marstons Brewery. We’ll be coming again if only to see her. Thank you x we’ve been again tonight, we were served by Annie-Marie, she was so lovely and a credit to you. We’ll be back xx

The staff are amazing, love them all. So welcoming. Food is beautiful and such a joy to be in there. We go every weekend and a few nights in the week also. Love it, keep going guys you are doing great xxxx

¡No entren, gente de más de 6! Horrible, la comida estaba fría y seca. El servicio estaba por todo el lugar, pero la señora con cabello castaño oscuro (gerente) era genial para nosotros. Nunca regresaré lo siento, fue impactante.

What can I say , our local and how lucky we are having The Vicarage on our door step, to many lovely pubs closing. Early doors always enjoyable, come back from work and grab a lovely meal or weekend drinks with friends. Six nations is now upon us and the big screen is up and looking forward to watching with a few drinks and lovely atmosphere, something always guaranteed. Would also like to thank the staff, you do an amazing job and can see they all work so well with each other.

The staff are great Lucy and her team are great 👍🏻 we love are Friday evenings down here.. Food is really good so I treat myself every Friday 😋

La comida era excepcional — bien preparada, bellamente presentada, y llena de sabor. Recomiendo encarecidamente el asado del domingo; la carne estaba tierna, los pudines de Yorkshire estaban perfectamente crujientes y la salsa estaba rica y deliciosa. Quiet night but still felt welcoming good efficient service

Great choice of food. Good service. Food cooked well and nice and hot. Good deals through out the week, eg curry nights, steak nights etc.

Knocked one out the park again! Absolutely perfect rump steaks and everything else on the plates was spot on too. 10/10. Looking forward to our next meal. Thanks to all the staff.

Positively awful!!! There is absolutely nothing good to say, I wish there were. They missed a meal off our order and when it eventually arrived a medium rare steak was like shoe leather. No apologies and zero customer service. A truly terrible experience which I will never repeat! Sub standard all the way but premium prices. Not only did the food ruin our dining experience but having to listen to a moronic bingo session clinched the low standards of the establishment!

Love coming to The Vicarage. All 4 of us enjoyed a lovely meal . Very friendly staff. Young lad came to our table to take our order so we didn’t have to queue at the bar. Little bit of a wait for food but it was quite busy. Thank you

Food was lovely. My only minor issue is that I was with a party of around 12 people and despitefully requesting that the meals arrived at the same time this did not happen. That said we all enjoyed our evening.

We thought we would give The Vicarage another try after numerous disappointments. We weren't inspired to go again. Overpriced beer that wasn't cold & didn't hold a head on the glass after sip 2. Regretfully won't be going again.

Came for Christmas day lunch, all meals were to a good standard for cost, staff really accommodating and friendly especially Lina and Julie who made my 86 year old dad's Christmas with a Christmas kiss! Be back next year

Arrived for breakfast with Santa , all the staff & Santa I can’t fault they were very welcoming & worked hard getting the food out . The food was appalling . The bacon looked raw , baked beans cold, in fact the whole breakfast was stone cold you just couldn’t eat it , it was also very tasteless .one question I would like to ask is why didn’t the bacon get grilled to give it at least some colour & taste . The breakfasts were replaced but still appalling . The duty manager was fantastic with the children and actually gave my grandson a dairy free box of goodies . Thankyou for that .

Breakfast with Santa. Grandchildren were very excited and you didn't disappoint. Lovely warm welcome, gift of a colouring set on arrival, Santa hats on the chairs, Drinks station - brilliant. Fantastic cooked breakfast for us all. Santa visited every table more than once.Then a picture with Santa and a Christmas gift!! This was the best value for money. Shall definitely take the grandchildren again and if you didn't get chance to go then you must go next year if the vicarage repeats this. My granddaughter & her boyfriend came down from York to have Sunday lunch with us. Myself my daughter and son in law - and of course Dave the dog. We had a mixture of Sunday roasts and vegetarian meals from the menu. The food and service were excellent and even our dog enjoyed his chicken breast and pigs in blankets !! Everyone said how much they’d enjoyed their meals, the service and the atmosphere. They all said how much they’d enjoyed the whole experience - including our dog. The Sunday roasts were really good with plenty of good food., and there was a good choice of vegetarian dishes. All in all a fantastic lunch out with family.

Some of our party were delayed so we thought they might miss our annual Christmas get together. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and allowed us to wait for them to arrive before bringing through the meals. The quality of food was really good and the price was very competitive. Our first two choices had been unavailable so the Old Vicarage had initially been one of the only options available but after the quality of service and the quality of the food, it will be our first choice next year! Our servers were lovely and very attentive without being pushy. Highly recommended!

Went this evening with my mum for dinner and the food was not as good as usual her chips and peas were cold and her desert was not as described on the menu and it obviously wasn't up to the usual standard

We had to wait for over an hour for our Sunday Roast, the only veg that arrived with the roast beef was red cabbage, surely there should have been something besides this. The meal was not hot just warm. The dessert was fab tho.

This is the 2nd year we have been to the old vicarage at whetstone for the festive Christmas lunch. The food and service was out standing, and the value for the 3 course meal was very good. Would recommend to family and friends.

I'd like to say the meals at the old vicarage was delicious, all the staff are very friendly and helpful but one member of staff Joseph went above and beyond last night. This guy was amazing and is a credit to your establishment.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, very clean pub with a good choice of beer, and excellent pub food that doesn't cost a fortune. .

We are a family of thirteen aged from 9 to 76 who enjoy to getting together to celebrate in a relaxed setting. We had a great time, everyone had exactly what was ordered (including fussy teenagers and adult with intolerances). Food was served promptly and politely, was hot and tasty and every plate was clean. The manager went out of her way to accommodate us. Very pleased. Will be visiting again.

Absolutely lovely place. New manager has arrived so let's see we're that takes the place. Although the staff seem to be very stretched at times, they carry out their sometimes stressful tasks with smiley ☺️ face's. Very good overall 👌 👏 👍

Fabulous night at the Tuesday Quiz, always a fun night. Questions are pitched to get your brain working but still of a level where the team can have a reasonable shot at the correct answers. Love the new dimension of making up a team name for extra points.

Just enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast at the Old Vicarage in Whetstone, Leics. The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious.

Staff were good, but they had very little food in stock, really no choice at all, they only had one steak, which was a bit ropey. Shall not go there again.
