We had an excellent experience whilst visiting friends for the weekend. The staff were really attentive and there was a fantastic range of food and drinks available. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and we will certainly come back again.

Staff were good, but they had very little food in stock, really no choice at all, they only had one steak, which was a bit ropey. Shall not go there again.

Food isn't bad, good value. Busy and not their fault some parents can't control their offspring Service is friendly but slow. Not sure if steak advertised as sirloin isn't rump but taste ok

The service was very good. The Sunday roast was good apart from the fact that the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings could have been crispier.

Came in on friday afternoon, was very busy but the waitress called julie who served us was very friendly and welcoming, very happy with the service

We had a wake for 30 people everything was so well organised and the staff were very attentive, the buffet we ordered was very fresh and lots of choice .

Really nice food and drink selection. My daughters steak wasn't cooked quite enough and they happily took it back and cooked it to her liking in addition to refreshing the plate. Lovely staff. Definitely be back there again.

On Monday the 21/10/24 my wife and I came over for the bingo and a meal the bingo is great fun and the meal was enjoyable Julie is great at calling the bingo and a great waitress after bingo Julie goes back into waitress mode setting up the tables ready for anyone having a meal the next day Julie gets 5 stars for her bingo and 5 stars for waitressing skills

We was driving along and seen this beautifully looking pub so we decided to stop for abit of lunch..great facilities very clean and lovely food the waitress who served us I couldn’t ask for a more bubbly friendly person I believe her name was Julie ever so polite and really made us chuckle witch allways helps she put us in such a bright mood with her personality so it was a great environment great staff and really good food be sure to check this place out .

We come on Mondays for bingo. The food is a bit hit and miss, just like the service. We never get any knives, forks or napkins. The bingo is very good and very entertaining and Julie is very lovely. However I never win

Lovely food ,we were lucky to arrive on on a day when the sirloin was reduced by 30% + real beer reduced also 😋 😀. Really good experience 😀 😋

What a horrible Sunday lunch compared to the manor pub in glen parva. Same chain completely different food. Very basic and not as fresh. Awful dinner. Won't be going back. Waste of money. Roasts where very hard with hardly any potato inside. Kids yours where flat, why not just serve a normal puffy Yorkie. Ordered a side of roast potatoes which where put on a kids dinner. Not as a side. My child loves a roast and he barley touched his.

Thes Old Vicarage in Blaby Leicester is a very comfortable, warm and friendly pub to enjoy a really good food menu along with a well stocked bar. Spacious seating layout served by really polite and accommodating staff. It must be noted that Lucy and Gemma are delightful, professional and excellent hosts. Thank you, see you soon. 👌

This is a great place to eat drink and be with family

This is the most awful battered fish I have ever had. It was over cooked to the point the fish was hard and chewy. The batter was burnt and hard. I would have complained but when asked is our food ok, the girl swept by not waiting for a reply. This was the last we seen here. When the plates were cleared I was asked “was everything ok” I said that this was the worst fish I have ever had. Sorry was the reply I will pass this on to the kitchen !! Not good not good at all. Won’t be back ever again. Need to train the cooks better, and the staff in customer support,

I ordered the hot dog meal that cost around £12.00 only to discover there was a blue thing that looks like mould inside. Wont be eating here again.

Went in for a meal with my family. I ordered a steak, wife ordered Lasagna and daughter just wanted some chicken wings and we'd ordered extra onion rings. Food arrived quickly but this is where the happy times ended. Extra onion rings were missing, told the staff and they brought me a little dish with 2 (yes two) onion rings in it! Wife's lasagna was a little cold so that was sent back to be warmed up and arrived back quickly and piping hot. My sirloin steak was cold and like a bit of old leather, the peas were grey and the mushooms were a bit shrivelled up. I alerted the staff who were very apologetic and they took my meal away and brought me a fresh one. The new one arrived and, although the peas looked lovely and green and the mushrooms looked a million times better, the sirloin steak was still as tough as old boots. Again, the staff were apologetic but by this time I'd had enough and got it refunded. It's a shame because we've been going to the Vicarage for years but the last 6 months have just got worse and worse. A real shame. We wont be returning.

We received a warm welcome as returning customers which made us feel appreciated. Service was efficient and personable along with good drinks and food.

On behalf of my mum & family we would like to thank the old vicarage in Whetstone for the fantastic catering for my father’s wake yesterday for over 40 people… staff very friendly & respectful.. they provided an excellent buffet. Their choices of buffets were great. They made a very emotional event easier to cope with.. nothing was too much trouble… my dad would have loved it ❤️

I booked to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday for a party of 17 people. Every interaction/communication with the team was incredible, the warmth and kindness, the quality of food and service was second to none and this all made the day very special. I would highly recommend the old vicarage and we will definitely be back. Absolutely wonderful experience Thankyou.

Booked for 22 people on a Saturday night. Everything was perfect. I pre ordered and when the food arrived it was hot, tasty and well presented which isn't easy when catering for a large number. The staff were friendly and efficient. A big thank you for making our evening go well

The bar staff especially the manager are so friendly and welcoming. The food always comes out hot and is very tasty and the atmosphere is very good inside. Would strongly recommend it. At present the food take slightly longer coming out but this is explained thoroughly when you order and this is due to the popularity and offer they have on at present.

The welcome was warm from the bar staff and the place was light, spacious and well maintained. The choice on the menu was great and the food was very good quality, well priced and delivered in a timely but not rushed manner. All the staff were veryt helpful and incredibly welcoming. We would definitely recommend and would return for another visit.

Relaxing place for a meal or a quick drink

Mixed grill was over cooked, dry and the gammon burnt, I asked for medium rare, but on the whole, I carnt moan to much, good value for the price with the discount code

A bit disappointed on this visit..food seems to have got smaller portions but for more money used to pay about £8 a meal but now it's average meal is over £10 came out warm and the chips could've been left in a little longer..I don't think it's a good value meal anymore ..shame really as I enjoyed visiting this place with friends and family...

Once we had ordered our food was delivered to our table surprisingly quickly, and was to an excellent quality, steaks done as asked and to perfection. We also asked later for a dog bowl of water for our four-footed friend, and that came even quicker. A nice friendly and busy atmosphere, an enjoyable evening, will definitely come again!

Too many older miseries which spoiled our enjoyment somewhat. Pub great, staff great, food looked great but did not try and it was only those old miseries which prevents us being regulars even though we reside onle a short walk away.

I was quite disappointed from the moment I walked in there was 2 people serving on the bar. The que was backed up, then when we got to the table the scan to order wouldn't work. We then had to wait back in the que to order food, which they had ran out of fish, the food then took over 45minutes to arrive and when it did was luke warm. Pop corn chicken was over cooked nd hard. Chips were practically cold and I wasn't overall impressed.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and delivered fairly quickly. The table 9 needed a good clean as it was quite sticky! Will probably come back but won't be impressed if the tables remain sticky.

We were a party of 13 and all of us were well looked after. We had booked as a group of 12, but another person showed up unexpectedly. The staff went out of their way to accommodate the extra person. We were very grateful, especially as they had a full house and a very busy lunchtime. Highly recommended Thank you to Lucy, Sasha and Joe

Food was terrible. Had to order 3 times before they had what we wanted. The food came out in 5 mins and was dry & tasteless. The cutlery, condiments & napkins were right outside the disabled toilets with the door open and a not very nice smell coming from there.

Very disappointed having been out for a meal with the boys on Saturday the 17th of August.. I fancied a mixed grill, but they had none!! So they gave me an option of the surf and turf of Which I agreed too. When served i was told sorry no mushrooms so you can have 1 onion ring instead!!! They really pushed the boat out for this one 😡😡😡 no doubt I'll be not returning!!

L'expérience a été comme un voyage dans le temps. Nous avons été séduits par l'emplacement exceptionnel, juste au pied de la plage, ainsi que par l'incroyable qualité de l'accueil. Les chambres étaient d'une propreté irréprochable, et le petit déjeuner, tout simplement exceptionnel. C'est, sans aucun doute, le meilleur arrêt de notre séjour en Irlande. Un immense merci à Christa et Damien, qui nous a également recommandé une visite au plus ancien pub d'Irlande, situé à seulement 10 km de là. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !"

Lovely Sunday roast and dessert, only complaint to much gravy on roast would be better if gravy served in jugs separate.

My mum 90 and now in wheelchair.she struggles when out with size of meals . Vicarage went out of their way for her .in every way . Meal perfect staff all so wonderful with her. After nearly losing her a number of times in last 6 months seeing her here the way she was made to feel made me feel so good. Not treated like infirm but a human x

Absolutely amazing food - go there loads with my family. The staff are always helpful and constantly checking up on you and if your meals are up to your satisfaction. It’s rarely too busy so you usually get a good table unless perhaps it’s a football game or a sunday dinner. Food is usually brought out relatively quickly and they are really good with allergens or any changes you’d like to make to the dishes.

Our usual restaurant was full and being hungry we needed to find somewhere local. It’s been years since we ate here and we were pleasantly surprised. The food, good honest pub grub, well cooked and piping hot The staff, really welcoming and efficient We will certainly return

Been here a few times and it has always been decent pub grub (solid 4*) and the latest occasion was no different....with an exception that ruined the meal and experience... The missus an I had both had a tough day, so decided to pop in here for dinner and a pint, I ordered the scampi, and when it came out, the chips were a little overcooked and the 'pot' of tartare sauce that accompanied the meal was laughable and borderline insulting, if I managed to have said sauce with more than 3 of the 12 pieces of scampi, I'll be amazed... What a ridiculous way to ruin a meal, and one that I have shared many times now as an absolute lesson on how to lose custom over a penny pinching exercise (if the owner replies with "you could've asked for more"... Yes, I could, but why should I have to get up and approach the bar, or wait to get someone's attention whilst my food goes cold?) So unfortunate, yet so simple, what's that saying? "Common sense isn't very common"

Went for lunch after a very long time & food was very nice & Bar & Waiting staff were lovely ...but we had to change tables three times as the padded chairs were stained & very shabby ...when you come out for lunch / dinner in your clean clothes ..you don't want to sit on dirty chairs !! So please come on & up your standards ...it was the place to come to for food yrs ago ...such a beautiful building ..a shame about the chairs !!

It was great to visit with Bert today with free drinking bowls and treats for dogs. He literally drags you in if we walk him past!

Good overall. Food quality was fine. Beakespware's Gold I felt was beginning to turn - butcstuckvwith it and switched them to Peddie. Pub shoulf try other Marskb's ales - eg Ringwood, Wainwright - which I never see here. Recent absence is due to wife's death and then my hospitalisation- I am normally a regular.

We wasn't taken to our table the barman which I think was Management as he had a suit on just pointed and said the table was over there table 10 he said we looked all over and it wasn't there so went back and a lady looked and no number 10 so placed us somewhere completely different. It was difficult as my mum and elderly friend are both in there mid eighties and it wasn't good walking endlessly finding a table. The meal was ok but the gammon and the steak were majority made up of fat no meat so they were both left. Not great I wouldn't recommend the place and I'm unlikely to go back as I only went for the 30% voucher and wasn't brilliant before but thought I would try it again. Just badly run and food not brilliant unfortunately

Had a dinner here this evening 23/5/24. Scampi and chips x3 , vegan burger and a mix grill. Everyone said the food was tasty and good portion sizes. The scampi was plenty full 12 pieces !! No one hives you 12 pieces and truthfully best chips , crispy and soft inside. Staff bery friendly and seem to care about making sire we were well looked after. Thank you , wished i lived nearer to pop in again.

We popped in for steak night and was impressed, very nicely done. Served on a hot plate with all the trimmings. Great service by the lady who served us; later walking over to check everything ok. And decent branded condiments, no cheap wannabes. It doesn't get better than this IMHO 10/10

We visit The Vicarage at least a couple of times a month. This is a large place and has many comfortable seating areas with some areas tucked away and nice and private. The atmosphere at lunch time has a good cosy feel to it, a smattering of conversations can be heard and we get a feeling of comfort. Evenings are obviously more lively. The beers are kept well and the bar is well stocked. The menu is pretty comprehensive and offers a very good selection at fair prices. Yummy puds. We always eat here when we visit and have never been disappointed. Staff are excellent - very efficient and very friendly. All customers get a pleasant and warm welcome. I really recommend this fine establishment.

First table had an ant issue, second table was OK, food was OK, but good price. Don't like them pushing the service charge even when going to the bar to get a drink.

The food was lovely I had a tuna melt and it was great size portion for the price and tasted amazing. The staff where friendly as always and give a brilliant service to their customer. I would highly recommend the Vicarage for anything from a meal out at night to lunch or even just a quick drink. Thank you some much for a lovely time. Lucy was lovely and so funny as always.
