Second time eating here. Food very nice. Service very good. The place is very clean. Seems to get very busy so best booking a table. Would definitely recommend.

Food could have been hotter. There was no suggestion when we booked or when we arrived that they wanted our table later on, so that came as a bit of a surprise

We went for sunday roast lunch i had turkey, hubby had beef it was lovely and the allotment fruit crumble with custard. Service was fantastic, booked for valentines day!!

A lovely pub restaurant and great atmosphere, fantastic food and fast drink service. I had server that took my food/drink order that was really polite.The waitress Yasmin brought my food out she was well mannered, polite and asked if there was anything else that I needed and made sure that I had everything to enjoy my meal.The food I recommend Signature burger .

Weekend menu advertised not available. After ordering drinks and looking at menu informed that 2 items chosen were not available. Feel like we were conned ! Won't be returning again!

It's was a set menu with limited choice as it was New Year Eve priced at £47.95. The portion sizes didn't reflect value for money,and one of party had the rib eye steak surf and turf and had to pay a supplement of an extra £4. Overall, vale for money was certainly not met

Strengths: ambiance and deco, service, quality of veg and some meat e.g. turkey. Nice starters but prawn cocktail was still frozen. Improvements: flexibility of manager, recognising that customer comes first and that a resolution is always available, waitress to be trained on customer service or ways to announce a solution (no), cooking (beef overcooked and hard, lamb overcooked hard), most likely left under the lamp! the ability to use the voucher on this first visit.

The food and service was excellent even though it was very busy

The food was lovely, a complaint about the way you cook gtuten free products though, I asked questions about the food and was told the fish and chips were gluten free and then I was told they were all cooked in a fryer with gluten containing foods...this is the first response to that issue I found on Google 'AI Overview Learn more No, gluten-free food should not be cooked in a fryer with gluten products because gluten cross-contact can occur' The same tools will be used, its crazy and they are 'not gluten free' I settled for the slow roast pork and it was delicious. My husband and daughter had the turkey roast and said the same, they really enjoyed it. The later part of the service was somewhat spoiled by the at least half an hour wait for dessert. The waitress 'who was lovely' said a large party had come in, I get that but we were actually getting up to leave when it was brought, along with some water for my daughter which they had forgotten.

We visited to try the festive menu for my wife's birthday. For starters we enjoyed BAKED SCALLOPS & KING PRAWNS and KING PRAWN & SMOKED SALMON COCKTAIL. Both were delicious and the scallops were very well cooked For our main course 2 of us had the 10oz RIB-EYE STEAK and 2 the HAND-CARVED TURKEY BREAST with all the trimmings (after adding a bowl of pigs in blankets). Whilst both our steaks were cooked a little more than the medium rare we requested, they were both extremely tasty and complimented by the peppercorn & beef dripping sauces. The 2 turkey orders were also very well cooked and presented, still succulent and the vegetables extremely tasty. For desert between we had 2 SALTED CARAMEL PROFITEROLES, a STICKY TOFFEE CHRISTMAS PUDDING and a BRAMLEY APPLE & MINCE PIE CRUMBLE. Each of us enjoyed what we'd ordered and my wife and I shared the 2 hot puddings and both agreed the apple and mince pie crumble was the best! Service was great, unrushed yet attentive. Checking we were ok and needed anything throughout. The atmosphere in the Red Cow is really good and it was clean throughout. A great experience and we'll certainly be returning soon.

We had to return the starter as not as advertised, we ordered baked Camembert and it wasn’t it was just some other flavourless stringy baked cheese . The chicken burger was more like the chicken schnitzel on the menu put onto a bun so it was thin , over cooked and greasy . Didn’t want to complain on the night as it was my sons birthday meal .

Nice food and service. Loved the pie of the day - chicken and leek. The only issue we had was it was cold in the pub- asked for heating to be put on but not sure it did - lovely fire place and wooden logs but not used. Been great on a cold night like tonight had they have lit the fire - some people sat in their coats. Spoilt the evening. In the main bar they did have a nice fire going.

Wow! We came to the Red Cow Saturday night and was blown away by the quality of the food. I had the Pork Belly which was melt-in-mouth goodness - honestly so tasty! My wife and her dad had the fish and chips - the fish was big and tasty! My MIL had a gammon steak which she enjoyed. My only gripes - service was on the slow side and we were there fairly early (6pm table) so it wasn't crazy busy at this time. We didn't mind as we loved the atmosphere and setting but we were also very hungry. Also, the portion of the sides that came with the mains was tiny! I had dauphinoise potato with my Pork Belly and it was such a small square of food, whilst the chips that came with the fish and gammon was around 6 per person (admittedly they were BIG chips). I appreciate its more of a quality over quantity kind of place, but for feedback only please consider portion sizes for the chips/potato's! Despite this we had a really good time and would definitely come back again - we'd probably just have to order an extra side of chips and divvy them out to the table.

We’ve eaten here many times and I’ve ordered the pizza probably 4 times previously but today it was dreadful. The base was so thin and dry, there was hardly any tomato topping or cheese, the extra toppings of mushrooms and chillies would have fitted on a teaspoon. I could only eat about half of it. I mentioned it at the end only to be told that I should have said something at the beginning, but that would have meant me eating alone as my family would have finished their meal before a fresh pizza had arrived. The point is that if the chef should be able to recognise that this was substandard. To be fair, the other two meals were very good and met the usual good standard of the Red Cow.

Had a wonderful family dinner with all the gang, good was great quality, atmosphere was a good vibe and the staff are so helpful. We had a couple of allergies and they looked after them really well.

Lovely afternoon spent at The Red Cow… the food was sensational and the service was brilliant! Have become a total regular here, they never let me down with the service.

Red Cow is a really nice pub, great for a couple of drinks in front of the fires. Staff are nice and always have a smile for you when you walk in.

We went to The Red Cow for lunch on Sunday. The place was not busy but there were long waits for food, by the time two of our party got their starters the rest had almost finished theirs. Cutlery was less than clean when brought out to us with food clearly stuck to it. There was a reasonable amount on the plate, it was ok apart from the cold, undercooked steamed veg and the chewy, rubbery roast potatoes that were way too firm in the middle. Half of our party left most of their main meal uneaten. I would have ordered another starter for my main meal if I'd have realised how disappointing the rest was going to be. While desserts are subjective to taste however, most of our party opted out. General round up: For food - Overpriced and undercooked with slow service. For drinks/snacks - A nice place with friendly, helpful staff.

Being our local, favourite and ‘Goto Pub’, rather than cook we decided to go for a nice meal having been many times this year. However, the usual customer experience we are used to had vanished and replaced with the worst Customer Service we have encountered for a very long time. On entering the pub, our reception was less than welcoming. We wondered if the person seating people was having a bad day. We were shown to our table and ordered food/drinks in a timely manner. When the food arrived, we asked for a new salt pot as ours was damp and no salt was coming out. The dark haired girl serving us said, ‘Well if you unscrew the top you can get to the salt that way’, and abruptly walked off. We asked again and were told, ‘Well they are all like that’ and again abruptly walked off. Annoyed by this, I went up to the dark haired girl at the till who was showing a new girl how things are done and told her she can have her faulty salt pot, and her customer service was appalling. Ten minutes later and at the end of our meal she appeared with a little dish with salt in it, we think trying to make a point. Even more annoying and rude. We finished our meal almost immediately, paid (was asked if we would like to leave a tip – I did think of a few choice words), and left Next day, I cancelled our Christmas Day booking that we were looking forward to, with a lame excuse ‘ Having to Work’ as there was not enough space to enter this review. It means that I will lose my deposit (I doubt the Red Cow will read this and refund it), but we cannot risk having our Christmas Day ruined by awful customer service again. I also strongly begrudge spending £300 on Christmas Day at such an unwelcoming place. We will now take our business elsewhere. I do hope the owners of this establishment read this as we were so upset, annoyed and let down. I wish I could give it less than 1 out of 5.

Got looked after by a lovely waitress Hannah Very professional courteous and helpful, nothing was to much trouble.

Came here with family after a 60 years celebration for lunch. Dad and auntie had the lamb rump and I had a signature burger which was very nice. Dad and I had a dessert. The only thing I moan about they give you a napkin for the mains but they don’t give you one when they bring out the desserts. But the staff was excellent on their work.

6 of us visited the red cow for lunch. It's our first time here, and we have had the nicest meal we all had something different and everyone enjoyed what they had chosen. The pub is lovely and quaint they had a fire crackling away which was lovely on such a wet and dark afternoon it was spotlessly clean and the lady that served us was very helpful and friendly we will definitely be visiting again.

The food was incredible, the sea bass was excellent. Although the lemon tart was absolutely divine, and I cannot thank my waitress Tia enough for recommending it, she was awfully kind throughout my time there. The space was small enough to fill with the sounds of conversation without ever feeling cramped or claustrophobic. A marvellous place, I shall be back with guests.

We asked for a table near a window were initially disappointed when we were shown to dark table next to a wall We asked to move to a vacant table and were told they would have to check At last we were allowed to move I know this sounds petty but first impressions of a restaurant set the tone for the evening OK let's be positive The young waitress was attentive and pleasant The service was good we didn't have to long wait for our meal However the food was fodder for the masses My wife had fish and chips The batter was hard as a crust and inedible The fish was bland and uninteresting I paid top dollar for a medium rare rib eye steak which was when it arrived was more like we'll done Obviously my preference had been ignored Apple crumble cold did return it came back minutes later looked as if it had been microwaved Its a nice pub but really needs to up it's game Yes we could hacw sebt our main meal back but quite frankly we were tired had not eaten all day and just wanted immediate sustenance. The fish was left on plate no comment made.

One of my favourite pubs to go for a meal- not packed, overpriced or noisy. Just wonderful service, food and atmosphere.

Went with family whilst visiting. It was very quiet at the time we went on a Thursday evening. Food was good. Kids also enjoyed their meals.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch here as a family. The restaurant area was quiet and nicely decorated. The food was delicious apart from the cauliflower cheese which was hard and not very cheesy. Definitely been in the microwave unfortunately. Everything else was yummy and well cooked. Service was prompt too. Prices not extortionate either.
