A friend and I visited last night. The food was delicious. All home made. There is a specials board that last night included Sea Bass, Chicken tikka curry, carbonara and another dish. My friend and I had Chicken Tikka and Scampi &chips. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was brilliant. Lovely blonde haired lady served us. She was super friendly and helpful. The food came quickly. There is a lovely outside seating area and there was a very large grassed area just across the car park. We arrived at 6pm and left by 7.30. The bar was busy, but not overcrowded. Dogs are welcome. Bear in mind that the kitchen closes earlier than you think. I don’t think you could order mains after 7pm, but you could get a desert until 8pm when the kitchen shut. If you’re passing it’s definitely worth a visit.

We were staying near by and called in for an evening meal. The staff were attentive and the menu had a wide selection of meals. The food was great, proper homemade pub grub like pubs used to be. There was a specials board with an extra 4 dishes, including risotto, ribs, pork belly and chilli . Huge portions too!! Would definitely call in again if we were in the area.

Stopped here on our way back from one of our ambles as a nearby church was closed for lunch. We were all surprised and delighted at how lovely The Greyhound Inn was. They quickly and efficiently took our orders and brought our meals which were lovely. Prices were reasonable and portions good. The customers were friendly and they are dog friendly.

We were aware that the Greyhound had some poor recent reviews before we booked. Despite this we decided to visit as it is the only pub/restaurant in the village my daughter and her family have recently moved to. It was a slightly odd experience as we had to find our way through the pub with a pram before getting to the restaurant and the lady who took our order didn’t seem to know much about the beers on offer. Also the barman then ignored us when we went to the bar to order. Having said that the serving staff were very friendly and the 4 roast dinners we ordered, as well as the starters and desserts were very nice indeed, hence the 5 stars. If The Greyhound tried a bit harder with the customer service it could be a very good place to visit and increase its ratings to 5 star average very quickly

We was on holiday in the area and decided to visit the local pub for some lunch but unfortunately the food wasn't up to scratch. Raw Pastry was sent out not once but twice after being sent back. It looked like they even re heated the same pie mix and mash. Decent pint but food needs some work. Buy some puff pastry lids for your pies

Visited here for lunch on Friday in April during Covid restrictions. Phoned to book a table, impressed by the amount of outdoor space shown on The Greyhound's website. When we arrived, we were pointed to our table. We weren't sure of the order process (no notices) and after we had been seated for a couple of minutes, a member of staff called across to us to go to the open door to order. We ordered a couple of pints, but had to ask for a menu for food. We chose the 'takeaway' burger and fries served in a polystyrene tray. We enjoyed our beer and we looked forward to our first pub meal for seven months. The food was as fine for what it was, and reasonably priced for takeaway food. The big disappointment was the alfresco experience. Considering the huge amount of space at their disposal, everyone was confined to a small area of the patio. We were completely surrounded by tables of smokers/vapourers. As non-smokers this was very unpleasant and one wonders what the health risks might be with amount of smoke and vapour being blown into the air. I'd guess seating arrangements are made for the convenience of the staff, but surely separate areas for smokers and non-smokers could be allocated. Anyone for smoky sardines?

What an absolute gem! I’ve visited this pub/restaurant many times recently & all I can say is it is an amazing place. It is warm & cozy, with a very friendly atmosphere. It is clearly very popular with the locals as there is lots of banter. Be you a local or not it has always been very welcoming on my recent visits & I couldn’t fault it at all. The food is delicious & VERY reasonably priced. We enjoy the midweek meals which we have had these include vegetarian & meat lasagna, fish & chips, braised beef all of which are made onsite from scratch & are delicious. The Sunday lunch is to die for as are the puddings (home made again) cheesecake, crumble etc. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here & I look forward to many more visits in the future.

Went to visit today, sat next to a lovely couple (locals) who had been discriminated against by the staff. Staff had been rude and arrogant to them despite them being regular customers for years so the couple were obviously very upset...not the kind of behaviour that makes you want to return !! We have visited the pub many times as we live within a mile of them and it used to be run be such lovely people but it has clearly gone downhill with the new owners ! The Greyhound Inn is clean, friendly, warm and inviting. The new owners have in a short time really made a difference to the atmosphere and surroundings. They are family friendly, very reasonably priced and are continually working to make improvements along the way in an aim to find the best possible fit for the Pub and the Village. The turnaround since June has been remarkable; we now have a quality well attended quiz on Thursday night, including a raffle and a laugh and joke. Not everyone will be satisfied at this stage, but this is a working progress and the passion for success is absolutely there - great start John and Nikki, carry on the good work!

Odered the curry and it was horrific. The only to describe is curried water with bit of chicken thrown in, no thickness or consistency at all. I told the guy it was just water and the popadoms were stale and he just said 'oh right' and walked away never to be seen again Won't ever be going back

I have been in this pub a few times staff normally lovely and polite , apart from one bar person they have now been behind the bar twice . Never asks me what I would like just looks at me then puts the card machine down in front of me .not a please or thank you or even a word said. Probably the most rudest bar person I have ever come across.

I originally thought this place was good. Just bought a few items that you can purchase at world market and have been able to for years now. I tried purchasing a coffee and chocolate crepe. I felt like I was inconveniencing the employee just making that simple order from the coffee section. The items were overpriced and I felt like a bother to the few employees that were staffed there. I am all for supporting small businesses but not to the point of feeling like I am bothering them as a customer. Dining in or out of the establishment. I have seen the same or worse prices in Beverly Hills, CA for reference years ago.
