Came for a bite to eat. Unfortunately it's drinks only but quite a lot of choice

Doesn't do food, but a great place to drink and have a ball

I always enjoy my visits to the Cat. Lively and colourful, often music and karaoke and bands performing at weekends

Amazing pub. Great staff, great customers. You enter as a stranger and leave as part of the "family". Everyone gets a warm welcome everytime.

A nice place. Lovely attendants and a place which is home, a way from home. Almost one year. I actually feel bad when I mess, lovely people. Esp. @Dave. Commendable!

Was staying in the area with friends for a couple of nights - dropped into The Cat before heading for food, enjoyed it so much came back afterwards, and again the next night. Great atmosphere (in the front bar anyway, the back is a bit dead), friendly staff, and the clientele are a great laugh.

Great service and nice friendly chatty people, dog friendly so you can share a pint with your four legged BFF's

Ok pub. Beer is reasonably priced. The toilets either need fixing or checking/cleaning more often as there was a constant puddle around the toilets.

No restaurant. Cozy pub....a brown café as we say👍

Paid for some juke box songs on the app and staff skipped them because "the locals thought they were wrist slitting songs" - it was blonde hanging on the telephone.

I drank here once got charged £2 for a pint of lemonade to then see the female poring it from a 29p bottle of happy shopper lemonade so makes me wonder what other things they are upto

I travel from Manchester to this delightful pub. It's friendly, welcoming and the landlady has an exceptional ability to make you feel very welcome. Well worth the journey!! Highly recommend.

Good atmosphere, reasonable prices. One of the 2 rooms of the pub is more chill with seats, pool table and a projector whilst the other one is more for music and entertainment including karaoke and DJ nights hosted by professionals.

Nothing complicated, just a good old pub! Staff is top tier, the alcohol is better and as Nat King Cole once said, unforgettable. Good or bad is subjective but I’ll go with the latter!

Food is only served until 7 pm. Found this out after I went in with my friend to have a meal at 7.05 pm. Doesn't say their food service hours are any different to the opening hours on their website. Ludicrous. Decided to stop here instead of rushing for a train back home, ended up having to rush even more so as to not miss the next train.

Great pub friendly staff, bands play every Saturday with local D J Dave every Friday. Lynn & EJ who run the pub make you feel so welcome. Would recommend highly.

I am very happy to be writing the first review for The Cat, which is my favourite local pub in my hometown! It has been through many changes and over the last year or so, the changes made by the two amazing landladies, have made it absolutely great for a night out/a day watching sport/a quick drink/etc! The atmosphere is friendly and fun! The bar staff are all great and are lovely regardless of the time you go in: night or day; weekend or weekday. Moire recently, I popped in midweek with my brother for a few drinks and it was just great - the beer garden even had a speaker close by, so we could hear the footie (Leeds and Derby) My gin and tonics were amazingly presented! I might be biased because I am a local and it has enabled my lovely father-in-law to have a social circle finally after many years of not having one since moving from Kent but I have introduced many friends to The Cat and they all agree that it is AMAZING! Get down there and share your photos and locals get reviewing!

I only get to the Cat in Spring / Summer when I’m in the UK and they always remember me! The service is beyond impeccable... thanks EJ - you’re the best! It’s like coming home to friends...

Friendly and courteous bar staff, who aid and create a very convivial atmosphere that makes the Cat a lovely place to go and enjoy a social evening.

I've known the cat for many years and never stepped foot in the place until the past few years as it had a bad reputation but under the amazing new management and a makeover I go there regular with my kids. It's a great family pub with great food and a great friendly atmosphere. I'd recommend visiting the cat to anyone

Love this place, fantastic staff always a laugh. Great music live bands, dj or jukebox. Great drinks to be had get yourself there.

Great pub atmosphere. I’ve heard positive reviews about the food too but can vouch for it. Toilets could more hygienic. Limited parking. Staff are down to earth and friendly.
