Went here today for lunch with my Mum. Great location in the heart of Preston city centre with friendly and professional staff and lovely food (I had the katsu chicken curry). Highly recommended! :)

Wrong drink vending chocolate instead of coffee, food cold!!!

The best weatherspoons I've used. Plenty of room good food and service.

Its the first time we have been in The Grey Friar in Preston. Will not be going back we waited 50 minutes for the breakfast and when it came the bacon was burnt black and so was the sausage and everthing else was cold, the cup they gave me for my coffee had a crack all the way down and leaked all over the table so not good service at all.

Very unfriendly staff, mostly ordered from the app for table service however when staff brought drinks over seemed like a chore and didn't seem happy to do table service. Also food was cold like others surely microwave food isn't that difficult to get right!!!

Tried this “Fiesta Brunch” for the first time and it was nice. I wasn’t sure about what I ordered, just wanted to try something different from Traditional breakfast. For £3.88 that was cool but didn’t feel fuller tbh. Also feels a bit salty overall.

Nice spacious pub. What you would expect from one of the better Wetherspoons

The food was nice would have been better if it was hot it's not the Albert and lion for shore

We had to ask a member of staff to clean the table we wanted to sit at . The pizza was very nice but we had to cut it ourselves. There were no ash trays outside for people that smoked .

Can someone finally vacuum the carpet and clean this place? Every time I come here, I get bitten by fleas. This carpet has never been cleaned.

Ive been coming to Grayfiers for the past 10 years, being nearly 30 and recently been a great place to meet my friend who works at country hall. Tonight the lady serving me (assuming manager) decided to ID me. Since bring a regular, local and with contactless i no longer bring my wallet out. I dont look under 25 and have facial hair. Yet she refused to serve me. Although flattering ive not been ID'd anywhere now for over 3 years. Today was my last day i will step foot in greyfryers. Its also the last day all of my fellow club members will meet for socal gatherings in fryers. A short walk to 12 tellers and ive been served here. So i guess we will all meet here from now on.

Normal spoons. Someone was falling off their seat at 8pm, didn't eat so no comment, table service took a while, but a pleasant lad brought it over.

Either severely understaffed or the staff are simply lazy. Over 30 tables that weren’t cleared of food and drinks for well over an hour. Customers unable to sit and walking out. The usual member of staff who would not stand for it is not in……..shocker.

Absolutely the best ,staff fantastic,good brilliant,drinks great what more is there to say ,loved it and a fabulous atmosphere.go and have a good time 🙌

Called in for a quick drink and a bite to eat, on Saturday lunchtime. The place was an absolute mess. Dirty tables everywhere. No one was clearing anything away. Customers cleared their own tables. Spoke to the Manager ( several others complained too ). All she said was , 2 members of staff hadn't turned up. I understand that but, when 4 others bring out food and drink to people, then just blatantly ignore the mess, it's not acceptable. Full marks to Max...the only staff member who actually started to clear away. He told another colleague....it's a mess in here....he wasn't wrong. He worked his socks off. I have never seen it looking like a tip. No one cared but Max. 12 Tellers from now on...nicer place. Shame on you, Manager and staff....except Max of course. I did commend him.

What can I say that hasn't been said by others? It the most popular place for a great selection of food and drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) . Tea, coffee and hot chocolate (free refills). There is nothing bad that can said about the friars, others strive, the friars achieves. Well done to managers and all the staff. A very safe night out. Stowford press cider is £1,99 you can't beat that anywhere.

Ordered drinks on app and took 15 minutes to arrive. Had the ultimate burger and it was tiny compared to the one in my local wetherspoons. We place is well overdue a refurbishment. It's looking tired.

Just like any other Wetherspoons. Nice, light large space setting the usual fayre. Good selection of real ales which are well kept.

Decent beers at very reasonable prices as you now expect at a Wetherspoons house. Food ok but not special - prices again reasonable.

It's just another wetherspoon! The staffs are friendly and the place is nice! With plenty of seats. That's the the reason for my 4 stars review.

Probably the funniest afternoon you will ever have if you get a seat by the windows nearest to the local Job Centre. Most of the afternoon spent laughing at where most of the UKs money goes and the absolute dregs that have come into the UK merely to bleed the country dry. Best of all it’s only £1.49 a pint on Mondays and fortunately most of the crap that went into the job centre didn’t venture into the spoons to spend their hard earned cash generously donated to them, fortunately most of them just got back into another taxi and went off on their way having just secured another bumper pay day. Sad state unfortunately from what you see going into the job centre, but would definitely recommend this venue, very helpful staff and friendly venue and 10/10 for the free entertainment. Pensioners need to visit here, cheap, friendly and you can watch all the crap atttending the Job Centre and seeing where your winter fuel allowance has gone funding all this crap; that have entered the country In the last few years and have no Intention of working or contributing to the UK economy, plus Its free heating In there and quite cheap to eat and drink

Food isn’t bad along with the service. Only thing letting it down is the smell of stale beer in the carpets. It is overpowering, particularly bad at the side where the toilets are and nearly made me sick. They need a good wash

cheap drinks, fast food order delivery, mixed crowd but mainly older earlier in the day. Good location for the town centre. it's wetherspoons, not the ritz, so limit your expectations and enjoy it for what it is.

Just visited for drinks, some great cask ales on at fabulous prices.

Diet coke £1.96 Worthingtons Cream Flow £1.86 ..I had to question that thought it was wrong..apparently on a Monday its £1.49 ..a friend had steak and chips for £10...smiled great, wished I was eating.. service at the bar was excellent with attentive bar staff keeping a queue to a kinimum . Very pleasant Friday evening. ☺️

A good Spoons, decent selection although quite a few beers were sold out. Best reason for the 5* review - I accidentally left my coat there and they spotted it and when I called to ask if I had left it there, they had it and I collected it on my way home! Great - thanks all!

Food and service much improved.

Surrounded with the usual early morning boozers, I popped up at the bar and asked the tender for a full breakfast and extra black pudding. Armed with an empty coffee mug I marched off to the drinks machine, I was very surprised to find a elderly chap just running off a hot chocolate into the drip tray, he wasn't letting modern tech beat him. I ate the full breakfast and bailed.

Nice pub, staff friendly food was nice

I've had it confirmed by the staff that there is no queueing at the bar, yet this is never pointer out to those that struggle with the idea that this is a pub and not a shop. Are staff given any training, other than pulling a pint I doubt it. Even for a Wetherspoons this is a poor pub.

Great place to catch up with old friends and have a chat. Cheap and cheerful. Great value for money.

Meals an drinks ordered together, meals arrived before drinks which was only 3 drinks 2 of them being a j20 an coffee waited nearly an hour for drink, ive been a few times an each time is different, most of time ok all round but staff are miserable a smile wouldn't hurt some of them

Brilliant chickenburger and chips were absolutely immaculate. Pepsi max was well good and we all had a great and fun time

This spot is mint! It was absolutely bookming! Food is quality especially for the price, I ordered the chicken burger and it was divine! Furthermore great service!

I had a real ale Wallops Wood. Very nice! Had the chicken burger. Proper full piece of breast with loads on it. Had extra egg which works!! Loved it!!! Staff here nice n all but they seemed a bit meh … but all ok. Maybe a bad day?

Saturday 11am June 8th Came in for a late breakfast. The empty tables were clean and the area was pleasantly nice and clean. I had the standard breakfast plus black pudding and a refillable coffee. £4.95!!! All perfect, absolutely the nicest breakfast I've had in 'spoons since before the pandemic. Not only was it perfectly cooked and served on a warmed plate, it kept hunger at bay until 5pm. Thankyou to whoever was on duty that day.

Nice food and free refill coffee. Staffs are friendly. The only flaw is that someone left chewing gums beneath tables which is gross.

Chicken and herbs with chips 🍟 is on point. 😋 👌

Extremely rude bar staff who should not be working in the hospitality sector. I ordered a drink and was very rudely told I had to wait as the barrel needed changing. I said that was fine but after 5 minutes when the drink arrived it was slammed on the bar and quite a lot came out. She just said, "who's next?"

We stopped for late lunch/early dinner. I had a chargrilled chicken burger. Lacking in chargrill and rather dry. The lemon and herb chicken was delicious.

Still waiting for food after an hour table has not been cleared from the previous customer toilets are blocked and the staff are like zombies no customer service or even an apology told we are under pressure yet everyone has been served that came in after us.worst service iv ever had definitely won’t return

Staff were nice, I feel sorry for them because although it wasn't busy they were because they were obviously understaffed. Food was a disappointment because it was Steak Club Tuesday and the kitchen had forgotten to prepare the steaks so all day, on Steak Tuesday they didn't have a single 8 oz steak available. I tried the mixed grill instead but that was a disappointment in itself. Also the food was expensive, should have popped over a good takeaway restaurant for less.

Always a great way to start your night great value on drinks and food. Staff were really great and they do have to put up with a hold host of difficult customers and yet they keep smiling they deserve a medal. The surroundings are getting a bit tatty and could do with a male over bit otherwise a great place with a great team.

We came here after the horrible stay at premier inn for some much needed customer service food + Bev's. Loved it. I'd just skip the inn and come here in future.

I visited wetherspoons and ordered 3 breakfasts, when they arrived mine Was cold, I said can you just heat it up . 15 minutes I asked what had happened and they said they where making a fresh one. My daughters had eaten theres and when mine arrived there was no bacon on. Complained again, no staff . They brought me more bacon eventually. I can honestly say the whole experience was shocking. Its the last time I come here

Typical wethies menu we both ordered burgers both were plentiful and did exactly what it said on the tin was rather busy so credit to the staff for being on the ball the valkerie ale they had on draft is highly recommended

Plate was very hot and gravy had a skin on. Obviously left on pass too long. Ordered with a drink and had to ask a member of staff where it was. Bar staff not very happy.

It's in need of a refurbishment. Service is variable. On the plus side the prices are lower than my local Wetherspoons. Still worth a visit for visitor ales and hot food.

Very bizy when went food brilliant here would recommend if you have children or if you need some were quite to go come here early on in the day

Compare the Grey Friar to many other Wetherspoons and you start to wonder what's gone wrong. There seems to be an informal agreemt that you queue from the left of the bar. There are only ever two or three serving at busy times and even so they struggle. Those who remember pubs pre c19 will surely remember just being able to find a gap and slot into the bar. Good, time served staff would work the bar and potentially remember the gaps for order. This all flys out of the window here. All it takes is those that aren't aware of the aforementioned agreement and then the system is broken. Staff require more training and confidence. Cask is modeate to poor. Anything that should have some body seems to suffer through the pipes. Food, just OK. I'm not sure it'll be on my list as regularly as it was.

Always a good deal. Good quality guest ales for less than £3. All day brunch with soft drink for less than £5. Can't beat that

Although not as impressive a building as the Twelve Tellers, this one had much better service, better kept ale and I enjoyed prope cooked chicken wings.

Been waiting half an hour for a drink. The staff are unfriendly, everything is low quality and the waiting times are ridiculous.
