Turned up to watch the Olympics skateboarding, the TV wasn't on but the landlady was very accommodating by putting it on and leaving the remote for me to adjust volume or change channel if I wished My pint of hawkstone lager was served cool and crisp Highly recommend 👌

Top notch ploughman’s for lunch, generous portion size . New management are attentive and engaging. Will be attending more often for food and drinks Well done to all the staff. A much needed change for one of our few village pubs x

I had high hopes for this pub as I had heard that it was a free house and recently refurbished. Clearly a lot of money has been spent as the pub looked very attractive, and I recall seeing it looking very run in the past. We just popped in for a quick drink but we didn’t stay long as we were put off by a gang of seven or eight intimidating males shouting, swearing and behaving in a yobbish manner. The bar staff did nothing to address this so I assume they consider it acceptable behaviour. We decided to sit outside to get away from them, but soon after they all piled out, shouting and swearing, for a smoke. We will not be returning and unless some strong management is employed in this establishment I don’t think we’ll be the only ones.

9.00 pm. Empty except gor one couple. Beer totally flat . My friend ordered brandy. Offered in whisky glass. Changed to wine glass. Beer returned . Offered replacement from same pump! Declined. Closed at 10.00 pm . Pleasant decor……..!

47 Sycamore RoadThis H and H is an enigma. I like it but then I don't. It's kid and pet friendly. It has a good selection of beverages and sustenance. And it's large with a rear section that is a nice spot for a small gathering without disturbing the rest. However, there are more and more home workers who are taking up residence. I'm one of them and now know how annoying we are. One drink in three hours, annoying phone habits, looking important whilst sending a PC WhatsApp message to your mom that you are so looking forward to coming home for the weekend, etc, etc. And at times it's not great to smell a pooch that took a dip in the River Chess...so, I like it but... One real positive, IMnotsoHO the staff are efficient and friendly, unlike the Costa down the road...take note Mr Costa...

16 Hill AvenueWe visited the Beech House Amersham for a drink one evening and we loved it, it was busy, vibrant with a nice atmosphere. I thought it would be a great place to take my family for a Bday and Mother’s Day meal. How wrong was I! I feel like I let my family down, because everyone was looking forward to a nice time. My daughters did not like the Sunday roast at all, the pizza base for myself came badly burnt first, which was changed promptly but it was just average. The service was great, but we will not be coming here for a meal again, nor recommend it to others.
