After staying overnight in Cheltenham, six of us went looking for breakfast and good coffee the following morning. We found the Green Coffee Machine, we were greeted with good service and excellent coffee and pastries. Thoroughly recommend.

We stumbled on The Green Coffee Machine by accident after walking the Honeyborne line. First, and most importantly - it's dog friendly and our Cockapoo was given a warm welcome. We opted for coffee and flat bread toasties, both delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable experience :)

We had brunch here everyday on our recent visit to Cheltenham. Just lovely sitting outside watching the world go by. Really lovely coffee and beautiful bakes. They’re not cheap but there was an offer on when we visited. A clean, friendly and well run cafe close to the railway station. Thoroughly recommend.

I was set next to the customer who wrote the last review titled “not a place to conduct an interview” and felt compelled to write a response. The customer was obnoxious from the moment he walked in. He certainly didn’t “ask politely” for them to be quiet. He turned around and shouted aggressively across the room. The whole coffee shop sat stunned. No way to treat anyone, let alone people simply doing their job. Here’s an idea for you - if you require silence to conduct a job interview maybe don’t do it in a coffee shop? GCM Coffee is an excellent, friendly coffee shop where the staff know many of their customers by name. Their cakes and flat breads are awesome too. Try the “pepperoni pizza” flatbread. It’s a taste sensation!

exceptionally noisy indoors, mainly by the staff! one member of staff was stamping piles of cardboard cup-holders right behind us and we politely asked them to stop as we could not hear each other speak at the table. What did the staff do? Carried on stamping loudly at the other end of the counter and start clanging crockery etc. the employee stamping madly was later outside on a call so it clearly wasn't time critical to stamp cardboard there and then. Real shame as the location is handy but cannot recommend it for a relaxing coffee or meetings with colleagues etc

On our way back to London after visiting the Jazz Festival our bus dropped us right outside this place opposite the station. Our instinct was to go into the adjacent Tesco for journey supplies, but it was good to see an independent place so we popped in an weren’t disappointed. Never had a cruffin (cross between a croissant and a muffin) before and a good flat white - very reasonable too - much better service and prices than London. Popped into this cafe right before I catched the train. When ordering a breakfast smoothie one of the staff members sighed and make a funny noise as if they didn’t want to make that. When receiving the drinks they were just put on the table and nothing was said... some of the staff were stood behind the bar looking on their phones and not focusing on the customers. When we walked out of the cafe they were still on their phones looking like they didn’t want to be bothered so couldn’t say thank you.

It was the day of the Cheltenham Half Marathon, so parked outside Station and walked to my viewing point in Montpellier. On coming back fancied a drink and snack, so I could sort out my photos and prepare my Facebook posting. I ordered a bacon Brie and cranberry panini, which was delicious, and a large flat white, and felt that the price of £7.40 was very reasonable. Very pleasant surroundings, and the fact that on a sunday the place was bustling, shows that it is justifiably popular.

Decided to visit before catching a train to Cardiff this morning with my daughter. Placed an order for 2 coffees and waited.. and waited and waited.. The lady behind the counter had a few orders for coffees, but seemed in no rush to make them. When she got to making ours, after about 10 minutes of waiting, I said to her that we had a train to catch in a few minutes, hinting that she could possibly go a little faster, I've worked in coffee shops, I know how long it takes to make, to which her responce was to snap back "and I have coffee to make" which was quite shocking to be honest. I then asked for my money back and as we were worried about time, to which her response was "I'm making yours now". She proceeded to give one full cup and one half cup as she hadn't done enough milk. As this place is opposite the train station I would imagine they get a lot of custom from there, not people having all day to wait. The Brits have a terrible reputation for customer service and an even worse one for coffee, this doesn't restore my faith. I for one will not be visiting again.

Sometime last year I mentioned I’d like to do the barista course as I’d noticed the cafe was offering them. So hubby remembers and buys me one for Christmas. Bless him. It was for two so he came also. Really interesting. We’ve done a couple of distillery’s and vineyards over the last couple of years so to learn about coffee and then to make proper one’s was cool. Chris is clearly very passionate about proper coffee and has his own roasted locally. (I’ve always thought the Mobile Coffee Machine that he also has on the promenade is the best coffee in Cheltenham....it is personal preference bit like teas!!). An interesting and informative couple of hours. Also great location as by the rail station. Thanks

Popped in here after a long train trip, we both opted for iced coffee, what we got was mild coffee flavoured milk, my wife asked if we could have an extra shot of coffee in each, that was done at an extra cost of 60pence, my wife was told that they were trialing the new glass containers and wasn’t sure of the ratios, this being the case, may I suggest you charge the going rate for the coffee until you get it right, without adding extra charge, it made it an expensive drink, and in all honesty, we had better value at the railway station cafe.

As a commuter, I use this cafe quite a lot. As a couple, we like to treat ourselves to a cup of coffee first thing before we go our separate ways to work. We can't quite get over a feeling of being in the way as far as the staff are concerned, though. It's almost as if people daring to use the cafe that early in the morning are just a bit irritating! Certainly, despite us going there enough times to class as regulars, there's no recognition from the staff, no friendly greeting - but even if we were going in for the first time, you'd expect at least a smile whilst being served. In fact, I've been surprised to read in other reviews that the service is friendly - our experience is that it's distinctly distant and gruff, not just to us but to other customers arriving whilst we're there. Perhaps it's just an early morning thing and the service warms up as the day progresses?

After a couple of minutes a lady took my order - she then told me the price and held out her hand, but there was no "please" which I found shocking. I gave a £10 note and there was no "Thank you". Good coffee but you do pay for it. It's quite expensive and a bit too hipster for me. It's convenient for the train station. One thing I find very very annoying is the insistence on charging for a card transaction. We live in the 21st century and you guys dispense one of the highest gp products on the market. It's hard to make sure you've got cash on you and when you are rushing for a train you should not be forced to pay a surcharge to put it on your card.

I attended the 2.5 hr evening Barista course and I found it very useful being a person who did not know a lot about commercial coffee types or the principles & running an espresso machine. For more than half of the course time you get „hands on” experience with the espresso machine making the coffee drinks from the menu. Shop has a nice vibe to it, good cleanliness, their own brand roasted beans which are made and ordered in small batches ensuring the best quality coffee. Owner & course runner Chris is passionate about coffee and runs the course and shop very enthusiastically, so if you choose to come here - be assured – you will get great coffee, quality products (or a Barista course). Ouh, and you must be out of your mind (or uninformed) if you choose to get your coffee from the Costa coffee machine located in the nearby TESCO not The Green Coffee machine coffee shop.

However, on this occasion after having messed up my order by pouring a cow's udder full of hot milk into a "strong coffee with a tiny splash of cold milk" I rejected the order and was glared at as it it was my fault. The Barista then grumpily made another coffee and poured a cow's udder of cold milk into it. The result was milky, disgusting and cold. I don't like making a fuss, especially when it's busy with a queue so I just left with my "coffee". I took one sip and threw it away. A waste of £2.60.

I come every day for my Soya Gingerbread latte...either takeaway or drink in....the staff are a delight and it is one of my most favourite parts of the day! The coffee outclasses the major chains as does the company ethos. I highly recommend paying a visit to see what you think :-)

Nice little coffee shop just across the road from Cheltenham Spa station. The coffee was tasty and they normally run a screen with the train times on it (but it was broken the day I visited). Very convenient; I'll be going back.

My first visit here, reasonably priced coffees and snacks, the tables and chairs are packed in pretty tightly, so if you have luggage you need to be careful not to bang into anyone. The coffee was great the only negative is that the sugar dispensers on the table had congealed food of some sort on them

We were very excited to go to the outdoor inn, being a fresh bar to Cheltenham. Unfortunately, as much as the staff seemed friendly.. the managers or owners (not sure) were not… they were rude to people (all be it customers who had had too many drinks!) and seemed arrogant. Drinks prices are okay for Cheltenham, but we feel a little like we wasted a couple of hours going here, where we could have gone elsewhere and quite frankly received better customer service. I wish them well, but I will not be going again and would advise pekoe to only go if they can bank on nice weather, and at a last resort!

Really lovely warm cosy atmosphere. Food was delicious and came out quickly. Girls are lovely & very polite. Lots of variety not just waffle & icecream. Lovely the Xmas decor

Very average. Totally distracted and understaffed by nice but ineffective kids.

The cafe is wonderful, special mention to Natasha for the perfect caramel latte!

Extremely poor service due to a surly, abrupt to the point of rudeness, female member of staff. Non itemised bill due to a faulty printer made it awkward to decline service charge if it had been applied. Food would have been enjoyable if the sourdough had not been incinerated at the edges. The worst part was the poor service.
