The staff here are friendly and welcoming. There's a pool table by the bar and a dining area on the opposite side and a small outside seating area at the rear. It all looks quite homely. We have visited this place on a number of occasions and there's always a good atmosphere. We had a delicious Sunday roast here today, all nicely cooked and very tasty. We also visit sometimes on a Wednesday evening when they have certain events, such as a disco or quiz. A finger buffet is sometimes included and this is always a tasty treat. Can't rate this place highly enough. It's a good, friendly town centre pub and has become something of a local for us as we don't live too far away. Highly recommended. 5*

We went for Sunday lunch on 28 August 2022. There were three adults and four children in our party. We ordered kids meals for the children, but were charged for seven full-price meals. I've emailed them but they haven't bothered to respond. Food was just ordinary. It certainly wasn't good enough for an evening out with my wife or adult friends, so not sure what their target audience is! Not recommended.

We visited here with friends and booked the table upstairs. We walked into cobwebs on entry, spiders and more.cobwebs in the windows. Dirty tables and dead flies all over the place. It was clear it had.not been cleaned in some time. We insisted on moving downstairs where the tables were cleaner but the food although wasn't bad, the quality was.inconsistant. One portion of scampi was.good one was.burnt and very overdone. The cutlery was dirty and we had to send it back. The condiments were clogged up and I've seen better in truckers cafe's!! There is no reason why it should be like this . The girl on the bar. I felt sorry for her, she was doing her best but she can't do it all. I haven't been here in years and now we all won't be going back.

Staff are great and the food is really tasty but it was just served not quite warm, normally gravy keeps a roast dinner hot but not in this case. Was sent back twice and on the 3rd time it was just edible (potatoes and veg cold when you cut into them). Such a shame as it was very tasty, especially the cauliflower cheese. Saw they do a brunch on Saturdays which sounded great, it is my birthday coming up soon so thought I would contact them via Facebook asking for a menu and if they have space. Received a response saying they would get back to me with the menu the following day, have still not heard anything. I am just disappointed in not receiving a reply. I would go here again as like I say the food very tasty but it is just a little bit disjointed at the moment.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days with our dog. It was perfectly situated in the middle of Long Sutton, close to lots of shops and a park that has play areas for children. We ate each day at the restraunt - great prices and even better portion sizes! Overall the food is great value for money and really tasty! If you're there on a Sunday I highly recommend the Roast - everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were very welcoming, helpful, and overall the service was great. There is a lovely garden area which was perfect for us to sit with our dog. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, with good amenities provided (TV, tea and coffee station + fresh clean towels). It was also spacious enough for us and our dog and had an extremely comfortable bed. I would highly recommend The Granary to anyone who wants great food, great staff and a lovely nights sleep!

Had there been a NO STARS OPTION I would have selected it. DON’T STAY AT THE GRANARY. We (four adults) had been told when we arrived, we needed to have breakfast in the Unicorn. We were attending my Father's funeral. We had been up since 5am. The stairs were filthy and the carpet was torn. The room was very cold as was the radiator. I phoned and spoke with Dana the Manager, who continually talked over me, repeating we didn't HAVE to have breakfast there - and they never said we HAD to, just we might wish to. There were four of us present when the barmaid told us. I've never stayed in an hotel which didn't offer breakfast! When I complained the rooms were cold, she said there was a thermostat in the hall. Outside our room. On the stairs. I didn't see it. I didn't go looking for one. I've never been in a hotel where you couldn't control the temperature of the rooms and have had to look elsewhere for an external thermostat? The bathroom needs a good clean and repaint, the ceiling in the shower cubicle is peeling off. The extractor sucked IN ice cold She would not let me speak. I kept asking her to stop talking but she didn't. She told me she didn't care at which point I terminated my call. It's a dump. Dana urgently needs to undertake some customer service training.

Advertise full English breakfast online but then not included. Room had multiple repair issues i.e. windows not shutting properly (single glazed), old sockets not filled in just holes left, sink coming away from the wall but most importantly the shower didn't hear up at all, which was reported to the staff the following morning as was only staying one night and was fed up by that point just wanted to leave. But then to get ridiculously outrageous lies via email about the way the room was left, it was immaculate except a small accident in the bed from ladies issues in the night. If the shower actually heated this could have been soaked for them but as stated it didn't. But certainly would wash straight out. Then to add further shock it seems this hotel doesn't abide by any sort of data protection! Gossiping to others about guests, giving out names and such personal and private details like a woman on her period!!! Cannot believe a company such as this can be so unprofessional!

Had an evening meal with my husband and the prices at the bar was my first shock! Lemonade and larger shandy shouldn't cost £6.90! The main meals were ok and the ribs were good however I would opt for chunky chips next time (if that's possible). The puddings, like mentioned in a previous review are a joke. £5.95 for two spoonfuls of sticky toffee pud! I did ask for more as wasn't happy to pay that price for the portion I received and they were fine with me and brought another small triangle bit for me and for my husband. Shame I had to ask though. Also very difficult to eat on a slate plate/tray, his custard pouring was limited and messy. Can't understand why they don't put them in bowls. Place looks clean but not impressed on allowing dogs in especially for an evening meal. Saw dogs sitting on seats at the tables, and I certainly wouldn't want to sit there once they left. Don't think I would rush back.

Wanted a nice family meal as had family staying. Order starters terrible portions for the price, calamari was like elastic bands & burnt, 1 starter arrived 10 mins after the others had finished and the extra starters of garlic bread arrived after everyone has eaten. With main we made a couple of requests not to have certain salad items in the main dishes this was total ignored and got them included anyway and asked for custard on one pudding it came with ice-cream, pudding sizes was a joke, ok if your a child. Management heard we was not happy and confronted us with an aggressive attitude! Would never recommend, definitely not worth the money spent either worst restaurant experience ever!.

My Daughter recommended here because she had been before but when we arrived she said the menu had changed. We were in a hurry but staff slow to give us menus. We were asked what drinks and I asked if they had elderflower juice. I got given elderflower tonic water which is not the same, it’s bitter and no taste of elderflower. We ordered two marinated chicken ,one burger and garlic mushrooms on bread with coleslaw and salad(a bit weird!). The chicken taste was a complete surprise as it was marinated in curry paste. This should be on the menu as I hate curry. The other chicken did not turn up so my Grandaughter had to wait for it to be cooked and in the meantime we’d all finished.

So booked a table here on a saturday as we were staying in a travelodge in long sutton for my mums birthday.I booked the table via messenger on their facebook page as they didnt have a website. This was 3 weeks ago anyway so turned up and said i had a table booked but they had no record of my booking, unfortunately i had no signal on my phone or wifi so couldnt show the messenger chat.Anyway lady said we could have a table upstairs which was a small area on a mezzanine level which despite having 2 small windows open was like an oven.We both had some cider to drink first then we shared some bread and olives mum then ordered a glass of cabernet sauvignon(red) but was brought a glass of sauvignon blanc(white) waitress took it away and brought a glass of red. Then mains i ordered the rump steak m/r and mum sirloin medium food came my steak was nicely cooked but mums was very undercooked bloody pretty much rare, i said i would send it back. But as they were very busy she said she didnt want to cause a fuss but she had to leave half of it as it was too bloody for her,we told the waitress when she came to clear plates and she apologised and we asked for bill then waited about 15 minutes and no one came back and we were soaked as it was so hot ,so we went to the bar area downstairs to pay and i think i got the manageress and she asked if everything was ok? so i told her about mums steak and she took off glass of wine as a goodwill gesture so fair play and she said sorry and said please come back which i prob will as it was a nice place and menu was good

This is my review on Sunday carvery lunch today, 11 August 2019. We have been eating Sunday lunch for the past 9 months and having very good experiences. Recently, the management has changed. The Sunday carvery from that point have been somewhat variable, from completely cold to luke warm, to excellent. There have been several occasions where complaints have been made by us and hearing comments from other clients, saying they would never return again, because the food was not up to standard.

My wife and I have visited this part of the UK very often in the last two years and were bored with the food on offer...UNTIL we tried the Granary. The food was easily the best we'd had anywhere in the UK , the portions are generously sized and if you have a starter and a main course, be warned there will be no room for dessert, which would be a shame as the sticky toffee pudding is heavenly!

We arranged to meet friends here to celebrate my birthday. What a mistake. For starters one of us had chicken buffalo wings, that were so hot in spice she couldn’t eat them! I know that everyone has a different level of tolerance to spice. Even my husband who likes spicy food found them hot. As for the soup my spoon could have stood up in it, it was so thick. I have never seen a soup with a skin on it , it was like custard. I sent it back the manageress agreed with me. Eventually it was returned, I found it strange that the manageress didn’t come & check it was better, by the way it wasn’t, it was like it had just been reheated.

We had a family meal here one very busy Saturday lunch time. The menu choice was extensive and reasonably priced; additionally there was a great specials board. The quality of the food was first class, what let it down was the time we had to wait for it. Whilst we were in no hurry, it took about two hours to serve a 3 course meal which with a one year old child dining was a far too long. It appeared that the kitchen was overwhelmed, but the specific reason was not given. We were assured by other diners that such a long wait is not the norm for the Granary. Car parking is limited, but there are plenty of nearby public car parks. Despite the issues with slow service, we would come back again and hence the 4* score.

We chose the carvery night which was excellent. Good choice of meat and also vegetables. Best carvery we have had in a very long time. Very busy so glad we booked a table in advance. Only disappointment was lighting was a bit dim, which while creating a nice atmosphere, could have done with being a little brighter. The dessert options were very limited with no hot option and what we had wasn't what we expected which was a shame. Only carvery meals offered on carvery nights too so those not wanting to eat a carvery would be disappointed. Company was good and would recommend the venue again. Only disadvantage is parking not good you have to park in the Market Place, if you can get a space, and walk. Not ideal for disabled visitors either as steps up and down inside although I noticed there was a level patio area at the rear but not sure if there is access to that from the road as such.

Overall a very good carvery, Meat was cooked to perfection, especially the beef slightly pink. The Yorkshire puddings were huge and the cauliflower cheese was to die for by far the best cauliflower cheese we have had from any carvery in the area. Plenty of vegetables to choose from and even sausages. The only thing to pick at is that the gravy was slightly on the runny side for us but that is only down to our personal preference. And to top it off the staff are very friendly and helpful. Value for money is excellent.

Tried the carvery this evening. Won't be back. Amateurish comes to mind. Young lad serving at carvery didn't seem to know what he was doing. It's in the detail. String served with meat. Serving spoons facing the carver not the customer. Mash I'm sure was instant mash (never had that before). Worst of all the only pudding available was ice cream! Unfortunately I will be adding to the reviews which state the service is wholly inadequate. To put this into context we were a large party - however - I had prebooked a number of weeks before so we were not a surprise. We were slightly early but the tables were ready. As we were in a couple of cars we entered in 'waves' - the first lot placed a drinks order. As we watched - expecting the drinks to come so the second half of the order could be made - the entire bar area was served. We waited. The child amongst us was despatched - she came back to tell us they were too busy. We waited. The first batch of drinks came - almost one by one - and then the second lot ordered. Without labouring the point - it was slow. Carvery food so we helped ourselves. After going through a huge pile of plates to find some clean ones !!! we ate our meals. Having attended a few times before (in which I more than likely would have agreed with the more positive reviews) I was left disappointed- as we're family members who were somewhat baffled as to the eggy Yorkshire puds. Not being an expert it's probably a way I've never experienced before - but they were a bit odd. After eating we were asked if our plates could be cleared - all but two were. There they sat for the best part of 40 minutes. While all around us patrons were offered desert or coffee - we were just bypassed, again ...... and again. I spoke to the chef who kindly cleared the plates. I then spoke to a really lovely and very apologetic member of staff (not the vanishing girl from earlier). She offered us discount on the bill which we accepted. When I explained that we were celebrating Grandfather/Grandmother birthdays and two families had travelled from afar (down from the north and up from the south) she understood our complaint.

We came to the granary hotel for evening meal with some close family on Sunday evening, and was greeted by two friendly members of Staff, one I believe was a northern lad and the other around the same age standing with him I believe was the chef both was very welcoming, the young bar man was very helpful showing us to our table and taking our order, nothing was to Much trouble, when the food arrived it was outstanding I had a steak which was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly, I can see why the steak nights are so popular, the other two members of my party had a pan fried sea bass and a Mediterranean salmon both cooked fantastically we usually eat around the corner at parmleas, but with food like this we will be coming back to the granary - well done

We all went to THE GRANARY - IN LONG SUTTON - LINCS. We have NEVER TASTED SUCH TASTY DELICIOUS FOOD, it melted in your mouth, that good my husband and son said they would marry the cook. Yorkshires home cooked, the meat MELTED IN YOUR MOUTH, veg not over cooked or under cooked perfect, spoilt for choice, turkey, pork, beef and gammon THE FLAVOURS WERE BEAUTIFUL and the delicious grandma's gravy - Not like water or flour water - It was full of all the JUICES OF THE MEAT AND PERFECTLY SCRUMPTIOUS. I am a very fussy eater but I cleared my plate, we all did. we are all going back each week now, taking our friends as well, we all can't wait, that's how good the meals are in that granary. The staff are friendly and so helpful, lovely clean traditional pub and Price is very reasonable, so all in all you won't beat that for a lovely night out or just a quick meal - HONESTLY the BEST- WELL DONE TO THE COOK - SHE NEEDS and deserves THE HIGHEST PRAISE EVER.

We visited with friends on three occasions and experienced three different menus: steak night, carvery and a la carte; all were well cooked and presented in usual pub fashion, the portions were large and meals very good value. The staff were pleasant and service was fine. The surroundings were smart with a typical pub atmosphere. Sometimes they have live music, but we didn't experience this.

we are regulars at the Granary for the sunday carvery and without doubt this must be the best carvery for miles around, the choice of meats and veg is second to none, it as always piping hot and I must say the amount of meat you are given is enormous, all the staff are very welcoming and it would be hard to find a single problem with this place, I would advise anyone who has not been here to try it you will be amazed,

Had booked a table for 4 on Sat 19th August for my husbands birthday. We placed our order the waiter read our order back to us but when the starters came l had ordered prawns with a chilli sauce and got a prawn cocktail that was returned but the bread to go with the cocktail was left with no butter, the chilli prawns arrived no sauce had to ask, my husband had white bait no tartar sauce had to ask but it did have drizzled over it balsamic dressing and was told " that's how it is sold" never is this dressing served with fish.Main course. what a joke. Two sirloin steaks pile up with chips to cover the burned offering they called steak also ordered two sauces to go with them you guess it no sauce had to ask. The steaks you could not eat and my Thi curry had had chunks of chicken not thin slices. At this point my husband said that his birthday do had been ruined and paid for the drinks and started to leave at this stage the sauces for the steaks turned up.I can sum this up with if you want a terrible meal piled high with chips ect., to cover up burnt offerings then this is the place for you if not stear clear. Although l have said in my ratings the food is terrible this rating is to good.

On arriving at The Granary we were warmly greeted. We had booked a table for 4 and prior to our table being ready we sat outside in the courtyard for drinks. It was quite pleasant and in keeping with the general area. We sat down for our meal with friends at 7 p.m. The menu is varied and the amount of food you get is ample. We didn't order a starter, we just went straight for the main. I had lasagne and it came with salad and chips. The rest of the party had steak and they seemed happy with the way it was cooked and presented. Our initial evening out was to meet up with friends for a good chat, unfortunately this plan was ruined completely. Before we had managed to finish our meal the music began in the shape of a 4 plus piece band. They set their equipment up in the eating area not far from the diners. It was horrendous for everyone eating, and many of us just decided to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere. It completely ruined our evening. It wouldn't have been too bad if the music was middle of the road, but it wasn't, it was in fact the loudest that I had ever heard leaning more towards heavy rock!!!!! I felt sorry for the ones who were staying in the hotel accommodation........

Went for dinner with friends on Saturday night. Very nice food, just enormous portions. Had a starter and mains and none of us could eat all our main course. If we go back will definitely just main and a pud perhaps. The pub area was very lively due to a band playing and whilst we hadn't gone to listen to them, they provided some good entertainment

Went to the Granary. What a wonderful meal and great service. The only little moan I have is the size of the meals they are huge.So much went back, but having said that better than the other way. Everything was lovely. Will return for sure but would give the starter a miss and try the puddings.

We booked the granary for a table of 16, the staff where so friendly and helpful on booking. On arrival we was blown away. We all went for starters which where lovely. Then the main courses arrived which all arrived together and very hot which was amazing well Done to all the staff considering how large our party was. The portions where massive one of our party ordered fish and chips and I have never seen such a large cod. There was a band after we had finished eating who where very good and topped off an already brilliant night allowing us to have a good old dance and sing song. The only downside was sitting so close to the band due to size of group we where sitting right next to the speaker but we moved to the bar area which was lovely. Drinks and food where fantastic. Thank you to all the staff for providing an excellent night.

Stopped on way travelling to the Norfolk broads so glad we did, we was met by a lovely lady and charming husband on the bar, i ordered steak and ale pie, new potatoes and fresh veg, the steak and ale pie was to die for the vegetables so fresh they must have been picked that morning, the wife had the large cod, never in my life have I seen such a enormous cod, although she left some it taste matched its appearance. What a lovely place

Manageress very pleasant. Ordered carvery with pink beef, which I was assured they do. Two beef pies, one chicken wrapped in bacon.Chicken wrapped in bacon came with salad and piled up chips over the complete plate.Beef pie cold couldn't see pastry veg was cold.Carvery was swilling with gravy, cold meat and warm veg in a separate dish.Took pie back and it was then heated up in a microwave and looked like slop when it came back!Carvery was returned and the plate was completely covered with gravy so couldn't see if meat was pink although after a microwave cook it wouldn't be!! I complained about it and the lady asked if I wanted a bowl??!! She finally supplied me with a warm plate and I had to shuffle my meat onto it with the mashed potatoes! Tried the potatoes and they had large lumps of uncooked potato in it! Obviously it was the final straw! I refused to pay £8.50 for what could only be classed as pigswill!! I've never had a worse meal and this was found to be the case for the table next to us, so we were not the only table to have a bad experience. We shall never go there again and I suggest no should others if they want a hot, well presented meal!!

I am from out of town so don't know the area that well, however have eaten in a few pubs & restaurants in and around the area over the years and the Granary has always been one of my favourites.Always friendly service with a nice atmosphere and the food is usually brilliant, I say usually as on this trip with a party of 6 not everyone was happy with the quality of the meat on the Carvery - that said my Turkey was plentiful and delicious. If you are looking for a nice place to eat with friends or family I would definitely recommend the Granary. They do take bookings so worth making a call if you are planning to visit on a busy day.

After trying this place for the 1st time Friday 6th nov i dont think we'll be revisting. We were the only people eating and had booked a table (no need! ) for 6pm. We both had a mixed grill. The food was ok. . Meat was dry and tough although portion sizes are great for big eaters. The service was terrible, we weren't asked if we wanted any condiments with our meal, had to go and interrupt the staff having a gossip, even then we must have been half way through our meal when the mayo arrived. No offer of any more drinks either. Overall, the food ok but the service is terrible and the staff need training! Getting the impression the restaurant is an after thought over the bar.

They serve later on a Sunday than most which has to be a thumbs up, it really is more a pub than a restaurant, carvery presentation was not the best, things tasted ok really, staff were initially friendly enough, beer was not the best, major gripes, a server stood over and asked if we had finished when a couple of the kids clearly hadn't and we ended up parting with some plates before the others, perhaps it was near the shift end, final gripe two staff members walked straight through the eating area with a large, full, grubby looking dustbin

We went on a Friday evening hoping to catch up with friends we had not seen for a long time but it was karaoke night which was supposed to have started later that evening...fine we thought. No problem but no sooner had we sat down and started talking the dj starting playing music far too loudly for us to hear each other, then once the karaoke started we had people standing around our table whilst we were trying to eat, rather spoilt our evening, pity because the food was good.

This relates purely to the Carvery. For the past few years the Tuesday or Thursday night Carvery's were pretty good. However in recent times on two separate occasions we were left disappointed. They commence at 5.30pm yet by 6.30pm we were offered roast turkey and gammon which were more or less finished. New joints should have replaced them. The vegetables, which on earlier visits were fresh and appetising, were dry and only just palatable. Whilst the price of £6.50 is good the poor food offered recently has now put us off. We will not be returning for the foreseeable future.

I should make it clear that this review and rating is as a pub only as we only had a couple of drinks, because they were not serving food on the night we went (a Sunday). This is a reasonably comfortable bar, although lacking the atmosphere of a traditional village pub. I did not think the beer was well kept as it was warm (above cellar temperature) and, while not off, has a slightly old and musty tang to it as though it had lain in the pipes for a while. Food is only available on certain evenings of the week, and as already said, Sunday is not one of them. Therefore if you are considering this place for a meal its worth checking which evenings food is available (and what choices they offer, as it seems from previous reviews that they run a carvery some evenings and have a steak night, so apart from this the menu may be limited).

I have been to The Granary many times for their superb "carvery" the food is always fresh, piping hot, and you get shed loads of it, and on a Tuesday and Thursday you will need to book a table, it is that popular, for £6.50 you couldn't cook it at home for that price. I guarantee that you will never leave the premises feeling hungry.Polite and helpful staff make this a dining experience you will long remember, well done to all staff at "The Granary Long Sutton"

If I could give a zero review I would, took 7 calls for someone to answer, this isn’t because they were busy but because the bloke didn’t want to take the order, when we finally got through ordered, was told it would be 20 mins, 45 mins later and a call to them, was informed my order had gone from Moulton Chapel to Holbeach to Weston I live in Moulton Chapel guess my meal will be cold IF it ever arrives, told them to cancel order she does not have drivers phone number REALLY so over an hour and still waiting for a cold takeaway, told them to cancel our order, which they agreed to do, but how they don’t have the drivers number, would not recommend delivery from this take away
