The worst food and service ever. The food was low quality and tasteless, the staff weren't interested and hopeless, forgot about one of two drinks and brought the wrong dish. We only ate it because we were starving, but even though we regretted eating it.

The Polish manager likes to break the law and publicly fire employees and humiliating them in front of other staff and customers. Also expected him to come in while being sick around the food because it’s “company expectation “. If you care about your health and also just general kindness of employees that serve you don’t bother with the grain house. Embarrassing for customers and the staff. Again I only know this because she broke the law and publicly fired someone for refusing to stay on in the kitchen after vomiting. Also he was in the right to refuse to come in on those days he was sick because surprise, surprise, he was on a 0 hour contract Shame on you lady.

Had a toasties meal deal - tuna melt, salad and hot chocolate. Overall £8 ( extra cream) The tuna melt was very good - it was creamy and was well made and toasted nicely. Really enjoyed it. The salad was very fresh, with vinegarette, and was tasty. The hot chocolate was warm, creamy and very generously proportioned. Overall I'd say 10/10 for a meal deal. The service was a bit slow though - we were a group of five and by the time the last order came through, I had finished my drink and food, so it would be better if this was worked on. Great and polite service otherwise! The patrons were very patient with us and engaging.

While the surroundings, cake and coffee were fine, the service was awful. How difficult can 2 espressos, an American and 2 slices of cake be? The waitress had to confirm what we ordered 3 times, we chose to go to the upstairs gallery but couldn't get up there without the waitress unlocking the door. The waitress brought our coffee up but forgot the cake. After a long wait and no cake, I had to go down to ask where the cake was. I was told impatiently that both waitresses were busy and they would bring it up. Couldn't get upstairs again so the waitress had to unlock the door again. Eventually, 3 slices of cake appeared, we ordered 2 and by this time, drinks were cold. We complained, no apologies, apparently it was our fault, not theirs. The waitress said she would get the manager. We're left waiting for 5 minutes, no forks for the cake! Waitress appears, manager is too busy. We ask for forks, which are on the tray in the waitresses hand. She lowers the tray for us to take the forks, again no apology. The worse thing was the waitresses attitude like we were a major inconvenience to her. We didn't bother to queue for a refund on the extra cake we didn't order. It would have taken too long and no doubt caused more confusion!

Dropped in for a quick lunch and the cafe was not busy to say the least. Noticeable lack of vegetarian choices on the menu. A ham and cheese panini was available on the menu and my wife asked if she could have the ham taken out. She was advised this was 'impossible' presumably (because the paninis are pre-made and just put in a toaster) and no ingredients of any dish could be altered. So we ordered a Mediterranean Salad, a ham and cheese panini, elderflower and a dandelion and burdock. Well, eventually ordered it, as the waiter seemed virtually unable to understand or speak any English. Sometime later the salad arrived, along with the elderflower drink and a glass of Brewdog Porter instead of dandelion and burdock, and no panini. On querying this we were told that we hadn't ordered a panini!? Finally, 40 minutes after ordering it, it turned up. Given the number of eateries in a very small area around there I thought they would be making rather more effort. Wouldn't go back!

Took ages to get served. Then delivered two/three dishes. Went to counter to chase up missing dish, “told it has been ordered”. No apologies. Dispute the fact that myself and my wife had finished our dishes. Waited another 15 minutes, chased again “there has been a mess up with the order”. 20 minutes later still not arrived. Chased again. In the end Took the pizza as a takeaway, when my daughter took one bite it was undercooked. Empty apologies, zero empathy, zero customer service.

The grain house is really good situated, it’s near to the city center and it has a lovely view. The hotel is really beautiful and looks cosy. It’s wall has wanderful drawing. The personnel are smiling and kind. The only thing that me and my friends didn’t really like, was that our room had an unpleasant smell and that our electronic key didn’t always works so we had to go to the reception every time. The breakfast was tasty and you have the possibility to serve yourself again. Globally the hotel was very good and I recommand it.

I definitely recommend this youth hostel to everybody, even if our room had a weird smell, our stay was pleasant. Firstly, the breakfast is really great, there is something for every tastes (British breakfast, croissants, cereals, ...). Then we have little lunch packs with sandwiches, a fruit, water, a chocolate bar, ... to eat during the day which is very clever! For evenings, we always had good food. Some desserts taste were a bit surprising with a lot for sugar but in general, the food was good. There is also a little pub (with a big painting on the wall) on the ground floor which is cool! Ps: there's free Wi-Fi ;)

We stopped for a snack on a hot Bank Holiday Monday, they were quiet the cafe did not have much outside space, we ordered the 3 x mezze for £11 and a couple of coffees, the "Feta and Olives" and the "Mediterranean Vegetables" were OK and served with flat breads. The "fully loaded" tacos were excellent and to be honest would have been enough for lunch for the both of us with out the extra dishes. Coffees were fine and service was friendly. I was torn as if this was an Average or Very Good and settled on very good on the strength of the Tacos. It's actually the restaurant attached to the YHA so there were lots of people coming and going to the rooms above, but it did not matter. It deserves to be busier that it is.

Having failed to get in to a neighbouring attraction's noisy café, we were happy to stroll into this deserted-by-comparison, quite peaceful and certainly relaxed café and get food service on Mother's Day. The decor is fresh and modern and made sense once we'd spotted it was a YHA. Crucially though, we didn't feel out of place or at all unwelcome as non-residents.We seemed the only ones eating so slow delivery of our order was understandable, frankly I'm amazed there was a chef in. We sampled 4 snack plates - the pan fried chorizo was heavenly and potato wedges plentiful. The menu variety was sufficient that we could make a good if inbalanced fist of a lunch in our preferred pick-and-mix tapas approach but there were expected and unexpected larger plates available if we'd have wanted. Together with 2 soft drinks our bill came to c.£17 which felt good value and supportive of a great organisation - the YHA has come on a lot since I last used one! This isn't sophisticated fine dining but I'd imagine more than covers its guests' needs.

A really disappointing lunch with my two children. Lots of claims about quality ingredients, but the burger tasted cheap and they forgot to prepare my son's pizza. When they eventually delivered it, it was drowned with really nasty cheese. My daughter's children's bolognaise was tiny compared the the huge gorgeous dishful she'd been serviced in a close by, very posh restaurant the day before - for the same price! Also, there were too many staff here, all moving at a snails pace. This may be a great YHA, and I wasn't expecting the earth in terms of food, but they really could have done so much better.
