The Golden Girl in Brighton and Hove

They haven't turned the booking system off despite not being open and are called Da Vin Cheese now. Booked a table for 6pm sat night and completely closed

They were (and continue to) advertising a Bottomless Burger and Beers evening for which I paid an advanced fee of £27pp. On arrival their staff told us the promotion hasn’t been active for several months. The staff called the manager who claimed that they could not pay me back as it had to go through the booking site. They have ignored all my emails since and still have not refunded me. The booking site will not refund me as the event was not officially cancelled. They leave us no option but to seek legal advice. To make this experience more farcical - as I was dealing with this issue my friends ordered drinks. They received two flat pints of coke, a beer that expired in January and a tonic water with an expiration of May 2021! Awful establishment. Avoid at all costs.

We had dinner at the Golden Girl last night for my friend's Birthday. Friendly, warm welcome from the start. Ryan and Sam made us feel at home and they really looked the part; feels like you are stepping into the Peaky Blinders! We loved the decor and the music being played throughout the eve was perfect. The fish burger was the best I've ever had and the cocktails were great, very strong! We can't wait to go back soon, especially for the milkshakes alone, Baileys and Vodka filthy shakes in a jug all to yourself!! Be back in the next couple of weeks.

We went to The Golden Girl to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoyed the most wonderful meal. We were given chilled glasses of Prosecco on arrival. We began with a delicious and beautiful selection of canapés followed by the Miso Honey Chicken with triple Cooked chips and finally one of the most beautiful brownies I have ever seen. The food was delicious, the service brilliant, with the maître d’ even popping out to get milk for our coffees. I also sampled a garrison cocktail which was ever so moreish. I can’t recommend the Golden Girl enough. The decor is fun, the food scrumptious, the location perfect and the service is top notch! 5 Golden stars from us!

Very limited menu and they do not cater for vegetarians or vegans. My vegan friend literally got handed a plate of greens for her main meal, actually embarrassing 😕 Staff friendly but service incredibly slow. To be fair, the food we did get was very nice and well cooked.

Brilliant venue, fantastic food and attentive staff - the scallops were particularly good. Fresh delicious food - shame we couldn’t manage dessert.

Booked last minute through open table as issue with another booking at another place, the I liked what I saw and read, it defo was worth it, so in away I’m glad ended up here. The restaurant is very 1920s as described, looks amazing, staff looked the part snd omg the food was delicious, the whole experience was great, especially as was unplanned

Went here with a date , on a suggestion from a friend , and it was perfect , great food , stake was VV good Cocktails amazing And I even got a second date out of it . What more can be said I WILL Rate it VV good

Visited with a group of Friends for Dinner on Sat Night. I have to say the food was truly amazing. I had Scallops for Starter which was very tasty and Fillet for Main which was cooked to perfection. Service was great even though the venue was busy. Will definitely visit again when next in Brighton.

So disappointing particularly after seeing the reviews which actually made us book. When we arrived a man in a blue track suit sat on a sofa in the bar area told us someone would be with us soon. We were sat at a table and told that the menu was on Facebook. I asked for a WiFi code which the barman told us. After a few minutes the lady came to take our order and we had to ask for drinks/a wine menu. We placed our order which frankly on a Sunday is limited to canapés followed by a choice of roasts. The wine came but an hour later we had not received any food. Staff went out to purchase extra wine and napkins whilst we were sat there. We ended up being the only people sat in the downstairs whilst everyone else seemed to be sat in the upstairs of the restaurant and when we asked why this was no real explanation was given. The lady at the front of house apologised for the delay in our food order, explaining the difficulties they had had getting a chef but accepted that this was not good enough. The canapés arrived after over an hour and yes were nicely presented and tasty but apologies from the chef and an offer of a free desert were not accepted. The roasts finally arrived and whilst may have been good were utterly ruined by a sweet gravy / sauce that was very like hoi sin sauce. We had also asked for further wine and were offered the last bottle in the restaurant, a Bordeaux, very different from the pinot noir we had been drinking. We did not eat the roast or drink the Bordeaux. For a restaurant that is apparently themed and under the new management by order of the Peaky Blinders, I feel the Shelbys would have plenty to say! We left disappointed.

What an amazing little place this is!! Great atmosphere, really relaxed and chilled and has a romantic feel to it. Love the peaky blinders theme throughout. Staff are super friendly, cocktails are to die for and the food is delicious!! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting 👌

Walk up the red carpet-clad steps and you are transported into a bygone era, of 1920s, vintage splendour. The food is contemporary British cuisine, affordable fine dining at its very best. I ordered King Prawns to start and six HUGE shell-on crustacians arrived to the table, cooked perfectly and seasoned on point with a glorious garlic and chilli marinade. Steak was my main course – Ribeye to be exact. Again, it was cooked to perfection, my knife sliced through it like butter. The accompanying triple cooked chips, peppercorn sauce and garlic mushrooms, complimented the earthy flavour of the meat, which I washed down with a cheeky glass of pinot noir. Dessert was a treat for the eyes, the presentation was amazing – cheesecake covered in ripe berries, with Dulce De Leche, buscuit crumbs and edible flowers. I highly recommend Golden Girl, it's the perfect setting for romantic date nights, birthday celebrations or just because you're feeling boujee. Excellent food and service, nothing but love from me.

Loved the vibe, the look and the food was amazingly beautiful to eat and very well presented, would recommend to anyone looking for great food and a warm, calming place to relax and have a few drinks.

Just got home from a night out at Golden Girl.Great Peaky Blinders themed restaurant. Can recommend the tapas starter and Miso chicken main. It's very much service with a smile. P.S. the cocktails are great.
