Visited the Globe today with 3 friends we all had a lovely lunch off the 2 for£15 menu, sausages mash and peas with lovely gravy, cottage pie and vegetables, you could tell everything was freshly cooked, will definitely go back, there's a good selection of food choices on the 2 for £15 menu as well as their other menu.

We rang to check what time they served Sunday lunch and were told until 2pm. Arrived at 1.30pm and checked with barmaid that they were still serving lunch. Started ordering drinks at the bar, asked for menus and sat at a table laid with cutlery. Half way through ordering drinks we're told the chef was no longer cooking so we couldn't eat there. Drinking our drinks we were then asked to vacate the table we were sat at as other customers had arrived for their meal! So we had to stand up and finish our drinks. There was no reserved sign on the table. We were a party of 5 four adults and a child. Terrible way to treat customers we won't go there ever again.

Called in on a Monday lunchtime after seeing a sign outside offering two meals for £12 , Monday - Saturday . We were looking for a Breakfast but it was getting late so decided to go for lunch instead. The Menu offered a good selection of meals and we were told it would be changed regularly so there would be plenty to choose from. I chose Lambs Liver, creamy Mashed Potato and Onion Gravy which was delicious. My wife had Ham Egg and chips, with peas. The Ham was fresh and tasty and the egg well cooked. Chips were spot on. These were both good size meals, well cooked and well presented. Service was fine and the venue was comfortable . I would be happy to recommend this to anyone as it was good value for money.

An evening drink with some friends was ruined by a group of foul mouthed youths who it appeared were acquaintances of the bar staff. Called in to this run of the mill boozer for a drink with my partner. This pub is showing signs of neglect and having taken a seat at a shabby table and on threadbare seating, I was down 25 quid for two rounds. (Large house wine and a pint of lager both times) . We all know times are hard and prices are high but this was taking the P particularly when you take into account that they have the nerve to charge 50p for a small soda water which is of course tap water with bubbles, even when you have paid through the nose for the booze. We regularly pay between of £19 - £22 quid for the same booze in similar standard pubs, come on landlord get a grip or you will loose your locals.

Went to the Globe, not for the first time I might add, for steak night on a Monday. Our friends go to a well known Bristol steak house called “Pasture” We pre ordered 14oz Rib-eye steaks. Lloyd showed us them beforehand, explaining that they would take some cooking and resting. Duly arrived 25/30 minutes later. Not much talking went on while nose bag fitted. Conclusion: Absolutely Fabulous. Better than “Pasture” apparently, at a fraction of the cost. Superb puddings…. We starved during the day! Great ales, and Cider. Lovely Pub, and superbly led , friendly & attentive staff!! Worthy of a big tip!

Lots of kids running around, so be warned. Staff at the globe seem to stay so they must be happy and it shows. Give it a try. Their spiced cheesy garlic bread is unbelievable. Good beers and a small selection of Cider including Black Rat make this a good choice.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, don’t usually write such reviews but feel cheated. £13.95 paid for a SINGLE burger and cheapest chips money can buy. £13.95 paid for home cooked, microwaved (shame), dried out lasagna along with the chips, got lucky with this meal as also came with salad, the only acceptable part of both attempted meals. Sample menu ONLINE is cheaper than the actual A4 creased, coffee stained, printed out sheet of A4 we were presented upon arrival. Surely in theses uncertain COVID times new A4 print outs should be supplied? Similar, slightly better meals with a similar limited menu are served at the Weatherspoons in Yate, worth the drive out of Frampton. I really really can’t but into words how disappointed I am, having grown up in Frampton Cotterell and came back especially for a bank holiday treat. The Globe you are doing the village an absolute dis justice with your substandard, over priced, limited food attempt. Spot in for a drink, great location and good service. Just avoid the hugely overpriced spoons style food!!!!! ((Sample menu is very misleading online. It shows the meals I paid for at a significantly reduced price) very limited menu taking advantage of the governments eat out to help out scheme, in my opinion)) AVOID !!! !!! !!! !!!

The 2 lasagnes were dried up/burned by reheating? around the edges and apparently "not good". We did bring this to the young man who served us attention (when he asked was food ok). He kind of apologised saying it was a post christmas issue. We paid and left, dissapointed and knowing us...wont return.

Was very disappointed with the pub. We chose to go to this pub on the basis of the web site. We were loking for a pub that was child friendly, wheelchair friendly and that did sanwiches at lunchtime. It was child friendly, but wasn't really wheelchair friendly. While it is on the flat, the path from the parking to the door is not wheel chair friendly. It was basically a series of stones with gaps between them that the wheels of the chair got caught in. The only way to get the wheelchair in was to wheel it backwards. The toilets again on the flat were too small to allow wheelchair access into the cubicles. Our final wish was sandwiches which although advertised on the online menu were not on the pub menu. We did ask and were told they didn't do them. The food is OK, the staff are friendly but this pub does not do what it says on the tin.

have used the globe for meals on many occasions but sadly have seen the quality drop.Several had the gammon etc but received a thin piece of meat that was overcooked & burnt on the edges.Several others felt the meals they had were below par.We understood there was a new menu but didn't notice any change.Shall not use the Globe again as we can get better meals elsewhere.

We weren't expecting much in the way of pub grub but for £13 one would expect more than three tiny pieces of meat in the steak and ale pie which consisted largely of something like Bisto gravy.

One of my monthly lunch time visits with friends so we are not strangers to this pub. On this occasion I do feel that the standard of the food had fallen below that of previous visits. Not difficult to prepare ham, egg and chips but the ham was very dry and not easy to eat. Plenty of chips, but that seems to be the norm.We did make representation to the staff but I felt it was just cast aside. Pity because they have lost custom.

My friend and I met for lunch at the Globe. It was quite empty, just one table occupied and a couple of people sat at the bar with drinks. I ordered a Goats Cheese and Caramelised onion panini which to be fair arrived quite promptly. The Ciabatta looked untasted although it was warm. The Goats cheese however was cold and unmelted and the so-called caramelised onion was raw? My guess is they put the whole thing in a microwave which literally just warmed up the bread! My friend ordered a Jacket potatoes with prawns and Marie Rose sauce. We both ordered desserts and were advised by the waitress that there was no custard as they had run out and were awaiting a delivery?? The astounded us both to think that no one was capable of making some custard and they actually buy it in in bulk. Never again!

I came from Wales four years ago .the Globe was the first pub I visited .I liked it then and since then have visited a lot of times good food great atmosphere friendly landlord and staff .I can't fault the place! New Years Eve are great here with an outstanding buffet . The nice big garden is lovely in the Summer as well. Unfortunately I am now leaving Frampton Cotterell. So I will miss this great pub

Went out with friends for dinner. The service was excellent and the choice good with a few new to us items on the special board. The basic menu is in need of a revamp though. We all had different choices. Presentation was good but food was slow in arriving as they were really busy. Overall a very good evening meal in a busy but pleasant pub.

We visited for the first time and were expecting more, when asked about starters we were told we don't do them on lunch time,ok as we were hungry we ordered a extra of roast potatoes in gravy which when they arrived the potatoes were black and frosty and the Gravy like water,my wife's roast beef was carved so thick it was off putting, and out of all the veg which was plentiful only the swede was soft enough to eat ,so won't be back on a Sunday will stick to week nights.

A great family pre Christmas event. Dinner was a typical English pub style, and very nice. Followed by a local carols sing-along led by the reverend from the church next door. A beautiful way to embrace the Christmas spirit.

I've been meaning to write this for a while & now finally get round to it. Since the late summer, mainly due to my wife being away with family matters, I have dined at the Globe at least 6 times & drink there regularly. The CAMRA guides tell you all about it's beers - I'll focus here just on the food and particularly on the Monday Night Steak Special and Weds Night Curry. Both are discount offerings with all the usual trimmings - I had 4 great rump meals, perfectly cooked to my liking, over the period. Both the beef and chicken curries were really good, particularly the beef which packs a bit of a punch and would not embarrass a top Indian restaurant. All great value for money too.

Well above par Sunday lunch. Our beef and our lamb were just pink (as they should be) and the veg were excellent. Deserts were a little on the 'over hearty' side but my fruit crumble (when shared) was delicious. Efficient, friendly service and very good value for money.

Worst Sunday dinner ever. Meat on kids meal was thick and well done even though it is advertised as 'served pink'. My son couldn't cut it and it was very chewy. They completely forgot to bring out any vegetables so I had to ask, by this time our food was cold. Very disappointing.

We have just enjoyed a social event in the Globe Marquee. The food was excellent and served to 46 people without any problems. All the meals were hot and they provided so much veg we struggled to eat it all. Great location great food

A great pub atmosphere, good range of beers, and have eaten well here several times in the past... but this time the menu item two of us selected wasn't available, and our second choice was average quality. Perhaps better to choose from the specials menu on the board? The staff and service were great, with our international visitor loving the view across to the church.

Visited with a couple of friends for our regular get together. The real ale selection is good and there always seems to be different guest ales. The staff are happy to give you a taster before you select the Ale of your choice and I appreciate that. The food, although delivered with a smile by the staff was somewhat mediocre. Ham, egg and chips. The ham though plenty of it, was a little dry to the taste. However, no doubt we shall visit again some time so it can`t be that bad.

Popped in Sunday for a roast dinner. The turkey was very good. Being a regular ale drinker I have to say the quality was perfect and I look forward to my next pint of butcombe.

although the building looks run down and the shop out dated, the food is quite fresh tastes ok and is reasonably priced, however besides one blonde lady the staff are rude and quite short. they are supposed to close at 4 but normally are closed by about 3:50. the donut selection is random I never know what they will or wont have id go greggs if it was closer
