Love this place! Best cocktails in Margate 👌

The Glass Jar is amazing. It sits right on the main sands, and has the most amazing sunset view. The bar is lovely. There are DJs on Friday and Saturday nights, and everyone has a dance under the huge disco ball ! The drinks are well priced £10 a cocktail. They have all the classic cocktails, with plenty of signatures. My favourite one is the cherry storm. It’s like a dark and stormy but cherry based. One of my friends was pregnant, and they had so many non-alcoholic choices too!! The bartenders are super attentive and will make anything based from the flavours you like. They are all really welcoming, and create such a fun vibe. They really made my night. Thank you for looking after me and friends, I would defo recommend to anyone!

Nice little cocktail bar on Margate Seafront opposite the harbour. Serves a good selection of cocktails and spirits.

Went for cocktails/drinks before the Craig Charles night and plumped for this spot based on some ok reviews. It was average tbh. The epresso martini had very little vodka in it and the old fashioned was half a drink. Pretty poor tbh. In the gents toilets, there were two uirinals and a massive sign saying 'DO NOT DO DRUGS HERE!' which I found to be a bit intimidating irrespective of your nocturnal proclivities. The Wetherspoons was better; more inviting, better priced and no angry signs shouting at you to keep out of jail!!!

Beautiful location. Lovely looking bar. Friendly staff. Drinks were reasonably priced. Cocktails took ages. While they looked great they simply didn't taste as they should. Long island iced tea just tasted of cola syrup. Mocktail had poorly balanced flavours. I'd go here for a beer but wouldn't bother with the cocktails again.

ordered a £10 cocktail from here and it came half full in the glass- asked if this was right as it looked quite short and was greeted by a quick taste of the drink and a frosty response that this was the right drink. Felt quite short-changed, wouldn’t recommend

Cocktails were out of this world ! The biscoff espresso martini was one of the best drinks I’ve had EVER! Plus great music !

Great atmosphere! Really friendly staff! Great drinks & cocktails. Perfect spot to relax in the sun next to the beach and enjoy a few drinks. Inside and outside seating. Parking outside ( Parking Tariff applies ). Visited here on multiple occasions and enjoyed it here every time! Thank you! See you again soon :)

Lovely little bar on the seafront with good prices, lovely staff and a gorgeous friendly spaniel! They let us order pizza (also amazing) from next door and sit outside which was kind.

Basic cocktails which are made well but there’s nothing inspiring about this place at all, the lay out feels very separatist and it’s just got basic dim lighting. The staff are genuinely lovely but if I’m going to a cocktail bar I need more of a jumping vibe and not just people sat in corners looking a bit miserable.

This is a gorgeous little gem of a place! We went here on Saturday night & the place was buzzing, the cocktails were delicious & the price was quite reasonable! The service was great & the welcome we received was warm & friendly! Definitely pop in if you get the chance!

Considering how many differnt gins they offer we were given quite a unique gin from Scotland with lime... If there was a little more thought into the garnish I'd give 5 stars. Otherwise great place.

Didn't realise this place is under new management and it definitely was for the better! Nicola, the owner, is absolutely wonderful and the vibes of the place is so much better than before! They even let us eat our fish&chips from somewhere else inside. Great place, great staff!

Amazing quirky little cocktail bar! Had seen another review that said it was dog friendly, so whilst in the area we took our post beach, sandy and smelly Labrador along with us. Even with it being Easter weekend and busy, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Dog friendly is an understatement, our smelly boy was provided with dog treats, a water bowl and so much fuss and attention from the staff. Also the cocktails were another level, the caramel espresso martini is incomparable and an array of gin to please all. We will definitely be returning, just a shame we live 2 hours away. A must for anyone in the area. Thank you all at The Glass Jar!

Cocktails cannot be compared. Espresso Martini is the best in the area. Staff always friendly and helpful. Always a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Stumbled upon this little gem on Margate sea front! We spent our saturday afternoon relaxing outside drinking the most tasty cocktails, the atmosphere was amazing and staff so welcoming that we decided to stay and watch the sun set... i have never seen something so picturesque, and right on the door step of this cute little bar. Luisa the bar tender made us feel so comfortable and her drinks are out of this world! We will definitely be back enjoy the glass jar in the future. Thanks guys!

Well what can I say about this bar... It's the perfect place on Marine Drive to catch the Sunset, with a quality Cocktail or two or three, you get my drift. :-). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and if you like Gin, there are an arrray of flavours to choose from. I must add, that the Music they play is on point, and the weekend DJ's know how to cater for the ever diverse crowd. Wished I lived in Margate, because I would make this my local 'cheers bar' where everyone knows my name... Can't wait to visit again. Thanks for the memories.

Great bar on the promenade, a wide selection of cocktails and some great mocktails for a non drinker like myself. Staff were very friendly and toilets clean and fresh. A great place to watch the sun go down over the beach. Only one downside were the stools outside, really not great to sit on.

my daughter invited me for a drink, its not something that happens to often,me drinking these days but i was pleasantly surprised by this place.The atmosphere was great to hust sit and chat and i can honestly say that the rhubarb gin with ginger ale is fantastic.The staff took the time to talk to us to find out what we wanted and were both very helpful and polite.sat in an armchairwith a mixed age group in the bar was very comfortable and relaxing.The range of gin based drinks is quite amazing.i would highly recommend this place if you fancy a catch up and a natter, I cant wait to find an excuse to be back.

Wonderful selection of craft beers and ales. It got quite busy for the size of it, but it's worth hanging around.

The jewel in margate's crown, fantastic bar, the best crew running the bar, great selection of beers and lagers and cocktails to die for, fantastic chilled atmosphere, imo no better place in margate to watch the sun go down and have a great time. Can only score 5 stars but can put another nought on the end.

Still the only place my wife can get her fix of Salted Caramel Kahlua, also got some good whiskies there

I love coming here with my friends to have a drink, its so nice inside it makes me feel like i am on the set for made and Chelsea, so good in the summer as its right on the seafront of margate main sands

This place is stylish, fun and a bit of me. I love it. It's class, real understated subtle class. Ale is all too often my bevvy of choice but when I'm in the 'Class Jar' you'll see me with a gin 'n' tonic. I've always found the girls in the glass jar quite easy to talk to. It's nice. 5 stars

Vine aquí como era uno de los pocos bares de cócteles que pude encontrar en Margate. Las bebidas eran fantásticas y la vista al mar era increíble. Estábamos bebiendo cuando el sol se estaba poniendo, así que las vistas eran muy buenas.

Cool bar, excellent music and a great mixologist, don't miss this gem of a bar. Its even dog friendly in the evening, and although it was quite empty my French bulldog was made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the porn star martini.

Superb industrial feel, brilliant cocktails and excellent BBQ food

Tuvimos un almuerzo delicioso domingo aquí (Hoy Carne Barbacoa norteamericana). La comida era excelente, el personal era realmente amable (incluso fuimos al lado de borrrow una silla alta para nosotros como el suyo estaba roto). Es un sitio precioso, pero la música era tan fuerte que era de unos 3-4pm, habría sido bien por la noche, pero demasiado para un domingo por la tarde. La verdad es que no pudimos oír hablar cada otros (aunque era buena música!).

La comida era genial. Un gran servicio. Bueno para los amantes de la Ginebra! Bonito lugar para sentarse afuera con vista al mar y viendo la gente caminar.

This place seems to have gone a little downhill lately, the last couple of times we've been in we have had to wait a long time to be served, and more annoyingly the music has been so loud you can't hold a conversation! It's not a nightclub, where you'd expect the music to be loud. Our group left and went elsewhere for drinks as did another party at the same time as our group of 6!

The Glass Jar is a nice hole in the wall type bar, its very chilled and relaxed. There is a free seats outside over looking the beach.

Have had many a saturday afternoon/Night out at the glass Jar and always enjoy the great atmosphere, clientele and friendly bar staff! A last minute decision of ''where to get some food'' and we settled with the glass Jar.... And was really pleased we did.The menu was American BBQ, mainly of pulled pork combinations. Not to extensive and was nice and concise. As I understand the owners of the Glass Jar own and run ''The Diner'' which is a full American on Duke Street - just up the road.That does some fantastic food and so was really looking forward to eating here. I had the pulled pork Bun. A;ll main dishes come with sides (Fries, Beans , Slaw). If I am really honest the Pulled pork lacked a bit of flavour -BUT - was cooked very well (Nice and soft). We was served by a really friendly, energetic lady (Believe it was the owner) Who really looked after us... Everything was presented nicely, freshly prepared and in good time. Just shame it lacked a little flavour. Never the less will definetley go back. Lastly, Price was really reasonable, 2 mains, a couple of drinks and cocktails - £35? Brilliant. - They do a Kids menu also- They play music but are happy to turn it down- Great location on the sea front, near to all other bars ect

Had been meaning to eat here for a while. Visited many times for cocktails, which are awesome, but never managed to grab a bite to eat.Superb Chili 'n' chips starter followed by equally superb half rack of smoked pork ribs which came with fries, fresh coleslaw. Wife had the pulled pork burger in a brioche bun which was outstanding. Pork smoked in house and to cap it all the value for money is awesome. Best pulled pork is town by far.Lovely ambiance, great staff so couldn't ask for a better relaxed evening. Top marks

Had a really lovely meal in the glass jar there were 4 of us and we had a rack of ribs pulled pork in the most delicious buns and brisket of beef all either in a bbq sauce of smoked all served with salad sweet potatoes wedges cole slaw bbq beans all washed down with lags shandy prices are really good

We live locally and often walk here for a few drinks! Its great as the music they play is decent - ie band music and a bit more trendy rather than typical overplayed chart music! The cocktails are fab and the atmosphere is great with a trendy crowd and not a chav in sight! Excellent place for a few drinks!

Came for a few pre dinner cocktails for my birthday wasn't disappointed, have been before and will come again. One cocktail just isn't enough.

We went to try out some seafood dishes, there was none..it might be a good little, extravagant place but not for what we wanted..

A lovely location on the seafront at Margate, about half-way between Dreamland & the fabulous Turner Contemporary - warm and friendly ambience - good service & attention to detail - and then, there's the FOOD ! Vegetarian options include Smoked Vegetable Chilli, sweet potato wedges, sweet corn salsa, smoked cheese sauce & chilli lime sour creamEverything was truly delicious - and I do LOVE burger buns that don't fall to pieces delectable deliciousness of lightly smoked meats, the best BBQ beans (other than my own home-made!), fresh crisp salad ingredients, perfect fries and onion rings ...The only reason I'm allotting 4 rather than 5 stars is simply a matter of personal preference in that I like my food to be very hot, which I know isn't fashionable ...'my husband and I', to coin a phrase, thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Meat American BBQ (foods by the delectable Margate Smokehouse) at The Glass Jar.

I originally gave The Glass Jar a rather negative review after being less than impressed at the service we received at the bar.The owner responded and said they would speak to the staff and try and address my concerns.I'm pleased to say that I've returned a few times since then, and each time I was very impressed.The staff are now friendly and helpful and this vastly improves the atmosphere.I like the décor, the setting and the music being played, and the cocktails are excellent. The bar tender even brought a bowl of water for the dog over.If you're having an evening in Margate, this has to be on the list of venues to enjoy the sunset.Very pleased indeed.

Fab pub. Absolutely fab!!!! Beer is great according to the Mr - I am not a beer drinker - wine is also great. And the food is gorgeous.

The Glass Jar has a super location: it's on the seafront, next to the brilliant GB Pizza Co and fantastic Melt Gelato, and seems like the obvious place to continue a pleasant evening out if you've enjoyed a pizza next door.The decor is interesting, and there's some nice furniture, but it can be tricky to arrange the bits that are left over if, as in our case, two people take over a space that could be occupied by many more (though this isn't really the fault of the bar!). Another review mentions cobwebs, but I'm glad to say we didn't encounter any of those, or those that spun them! There's a good selection of drinks, and they're reasonably priced. We enjoyed the ones that we had, but had to wait an inordinately long time while they were made; perhaps this particular member of staff was new, but, in that case, someone else should've given her a hand. This is obviously not the end of the world, though it does detract from the experience rather.We were also surprised when we went to order another round just after they called for last orders, only to be told that they didn't make cocktails after that point as they wanted to get ahead with closing up (or something similar; I can't remember the exact words). Making cocktails does take time and skill, and I can imagine that it's a bit annoying if you get loads of orders in at the moment, but they weren't particularly busy, and we were only ordering four (though I think a couple of people came in afterwards and were similarly disappointed). I've never been in a cocktail bar that refuses to serve cocktails before - or, indeed, a bar that puts closing up early before serving customers.That said, we enjoyed our cocktails, and another member of staff seemed happy to chat about cocktails a bit, so perhaps they were understaffed or having an off day. We would go again, but would make sure didn't wait for last orders!
