Can't complain about the service, there isn't any! Staff attitude shocking, manager on duty attention to detail shows the same as he looks.... say no more!

It's a Wetherspoon! Food is decent, beer is great. Atmosphere is lively mix of people. For me this is my work local, so nice place after hours and you are still central to most things. Overall, staff are great and prices are very reasonable.

They ran out of beef. Had to settle for chicken burger. Went on the weekend, it was packed and the bartender was all over the place.

I go to the pub regularly and have always enjoyed the veggie breakfast Over the last few months they have changed the sausages to an inferior brand and today I had the small veggie breakfast, which has shrunk dramatically from it's previous self. Bit disappointing, all about margins of course

This pub was OK for a quick.bite with the family on a shopping trip. We sat upstairs and there was only one person working on the floor, many tables were still dirty and the service was a bit slow..but the service was very friendly and the food was decent.

Excellent pub with a wide range of good beer and good food. For me it's fun to drink a different Ale every time.

As you would expect from this type of establishment. The place could do with a damn good clean, the booths are filthy and unkempt. The full English breakfast was reasonably priced and was nice enough, and the refill of your tea and coffee was free as long as your cup/mug with you to the machine otherwise, you will be asked to pay again.

Large breakfast £6.59 includes 3 hash browns that i totally dislike. They refuse to exchange for something else or deduct cost of them. ie charge me £6 and keep the hash browns. So they will now be left on my plate and go into the bin.

If you’re just after value for money, The George is a resounding 5 stars. The quality they provide versus the price is an incredible achievement. Likewise, if you want to loiter with a book, paper, laptop, here gets top marks with unlimited free refills on the £1.56 tea/coffee and plenty of space to hide away. The reason I can’t give five stars is just that the breakfasts, although very good, are often closer to very warm than piping hot which I guess is a function of having to serve so many people. This contrasts with Hobbs cafe a few metres down the road where the food is piping hot when served up (although being much smaller and without free tea refills , I wouldn’t recommend it to while away a couple of hours because I’d be conscious I’m taking up table space) Lot of time for Spoons though.

Got my breakfast last my friends had almost finished theirs, not much taste if I'm honest. Unfortunately had a loud and foul mouthed lad sitting behind me, which really spoilt it for me. Sorry to say that I won't be going there again.

It's cheap. You wouldn't take your wife/girlfriend there to impress her. But it's such good value you can tolerate the variable service: sometimes food or drink arrives almost before you order it, and sometimes it takes half an hour and turns up cold. The staff obviously work very hard but still are very friendly. I go mid-week once a month or so with a group of male friends.

Poor food. The burger was luke warm. Tasted OK, not the best but far better than the onion rings, which were very cold like they had been stood over 10 mins. Not a good experience

The food was good. It would have been better if it was hot and luke warm. We went in the evening and it was really busy but it felt more like a drinking than eating pub, in my opinion but there was a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good, but they really could do with more than one coffee machine, the queue was quite long. However the staff were friendly and hardworking

The food and service were excellent! The service was impressively fast, and the food was delicious. The ambience is pleasant, with both booths and tables available for seating. The drinks were also great, with a wide selection of food and beverages to choose from. Overall, a fantastic experience.

A large Wetherspoons, with plenty of seating at ground and 1st floor. Cosy booths on ground floor. Quick table service via their App. Usual good value food and drink. Today had a small Breakfast for £2.99, and limitless hot drinks for £1.56.

It's tradition for me and my friends to hit up this place on Staines movie nights every once in awhile when I do leave the house. There are fancier places, sure, but if you're looking for a cheap pint, wine, cocktail pitchers to share and shots, Spoons does the job. 👍🏻

Two bars one upstairs as well. A busy spoons on a Friday afternoon bit warm downstairs air conditioning excellent upstairs on a hot day very fast food service very attentive bar and floor staff ✨

I think it's quite disgusting that they put cameras in both the men's and women's tickets.

Where to start, we use to use the George when we lived in Egham 6 years ago and it was wonderful. Visiting Friend for the weekend and decided to have breakfast at the spoon (we use the William Henry in Weymouth all the time and its as fantastic as a spoon can get) Anyway, order on the app, 15min later the drink arrive, slammed down on the table and the server left without a word, we had to call someone else as these were not or drink anyway. We finally got our drinks one was missing so had to send the guy to collect yhe full order. A further 20mins when our food arrive (it wasn't that busy) some plates had missing items, some had extra items and the baked bean we cold (I touched them as soon as they arrived) finally got all the components of our food delivered, so I asked for the manager and stated to him the issues, he wasn't the least bit interested and without a reply walked away. So would I recommend here NO Does it deserve 1 star No, but cannot give zero So will not visit the George in Staines again 😕

Very disappointed. Went in there today with some friends. A charming service lady walked past me. All I done was to pass complementary words to her. Nothing derogatory. Then to be asked one side . Which I presumed to be the manager to say the lady felt offended. Well I'm sorry if staff can't except being complemented in a industry, such as hospitality. Either they need training or it's not a job for them. Yet when me and a friend went to the bar for a round of drinks. We were served by a girl who . If you don't mind me saying. Completely had the charm of a 16th century witch who is about to be burnt on a stake. Just before leaving the premises. I told the manager, who originally called me to one side . And expressed my feelings about his bartender and her service of quality (NOT). NO got nothing not even a raised eye brow or an apology. Yet passing a lady staff a compliment. Is not a done thing. I have good values in life. And do believe in the age of chivalry .

I like fish&chips and the taste is amazing for the price and lots of sauces as well

We ordered small plates as we didn't want to eat too much. Large plates arrived so lots of food was wasted. Eggs overdone on brunch and scampi tasteless. Very disappointed that Wetherspoons wastes food like this.

Food was decent and very reasonably priced, but that was all ruined when a foul mouthed member of staff verbally abused and tried to intimidate my wife, all because another member of staff told him to do his job and serve people in the upstairs bar, I fully understand today was hot and the last place any of us want to be is working in a busy pub, but if that’s the case maybe you should find a different job.

It's Wetherspoons. What do you expect? Pint of lager for £4 when other pubs are charging £6 is a redeeming feature, as is the service you get when you use the app.

The bouncer policy of messing around those who don't drink alcohol, have bottled water with them, yet want to purchase food and drink is bad enough. Now you refuse to extend kitchen hours by 3 minutes because the web ordering system turns a 1 minute activity into a 15 minute ordeal of slow page loads, a never-ending attempt to take payment, warning that you may have ordered already when attempting to pay by a different method, and waiting frustratedly behind others at the bar in order to get answers. I'll take my money elsewhere from now on.

This place is perfect for grabbing a beer and a bite to eat. I didn't rate it 5 stars because it's a bit dated.

Absolutely by far the worst experience from start to finish when ordering the bar staff were not listening so when the food arrived items were missing food arrived cold wasn’t offered and condiments to go with it either! The sausages served are vile even my 3 year old wouldn’t eat them I would definitely not recommend eating here it may be value for money to some but the standards are below average as for the mega mix grill shocking all the meat chewy and riddled with fat avoid avoid avoid

Relaxed atmosphere and varied menu at a very reasonable prices that enabled everyone in our large party to select something they liked.

Friday fish and chips is my favourite here! Nice beer, good stuff and nice atmosphere.

Fine typical example of Wetherspoons pubs. Normally the Wetherspoons breakfast is great value and tasty. But today's offering was slow in coming and cold when it arrived.

HORRENDOUS experience. Three of us came in at 11am Saturday morning and ordered 3 large breakfasts. The normal wait for food is under 10 mins. It was busy but after 30 minutes we asked how long it might be as we’d never waited that long before. They just said it was busy and soon. The coffee machine broke at one point too. Two breakfasts came out after 50 minutes. 50!!! We expected the third to appear imminently, but at 55 minutes I asked a passing waitress if our third breakfast was coming and mentioned how long we’d waited. Again, told soon and was given no apology. We saw other breakfasts being brought out to tables around us that had not been waiting anything like as long. We reached AN HOUR and no sign of the third breakfast so my friend went and asked for a refund as we had to leave to catch a train. Again, no apology from the manager doing the refund for the ridiculous wait for food and that one of our party left after an hour without even eating. Zero customer service skills from anybody. Still dumbfounded they couldn’t get a breakfast out within 60 minutes.

50 minute wait for spoons breakfast is a disgrace. No Communication from staff that there was going to be a wait. Not even an apology when the food came. Very strange behaviour. Wouldn’t recommend having a breakfast here. Understaffed and customer service is lacking.

I got a pint for £3 here (may 2024) which I feel like hasn't happened to me since 2014. I'll be back at every opportunity.

Very poor table service drink got slammed down on the table no glass or ice as it is supposed to come with. Tried calling the bar person back to ask but she was gone like a shot absolute rubbish.

Long wait for food, understandable, but to get most items cold was horrible, that said the black pudding was cooked perfectly, yet mentioned the food temp and that the eggs weren't cooked properly (covered in uncooked egg white) the staff member said that they had finished breakfast and nothing else could be done

Quick service, cheap ales. Although one of the tables outside the front entrance is not fit for purpose. Value for money. Typical spoons.

Amazing fish an chips perfectly cooked, crisp light batter. Perfect chips and peas Fast polite amd efficient service. As always beer was excellent, fresh and no cloudy.. Nothing to fault.I don't know how they do it for the price. Went to a Youngs a few days ago, High price and poor quality. Always choose Spoons over others in future. Coffee was really good too with free refill. What's not to like? I can afford better but why pay more?

Being a Wetherspoons pub there is always a great selection of beers and some of them are very cheap too, not something you find too much these days. The food is pretty affordable too and not bad either. Friday and Saturday nights are pretty busy as one can imagine meaning it's difficult to find a seat. I'll be back soon to try a few different beers without spending lots of cash!

It is very much what you would expect from a whetherspoons, the food is always a welcome relief if you've been on a heavy session, but it's not fine dining. The service can either be done through the app or at the bar, all depends on what time of day it is to how long you'll wait for your food. The beer is kept okay and the prices are always good. The atmosphere is what you would expect from somewhere with reasonable prices and the decor follows all whetherspoons. It does have some lovely history on the walls of Staines and was probably easier to read than the Staines museum. In my mind a spoons has a time and a place and this one is no different. They sell turbo shandys. As and adult I can tell you to they are a mistake
