The Kingfisher in Spelthorne

Had a lovely meal in the Kingfisher in Chertsey this week. Great food - both had lamb. Was exceptionally looked after by Tianne. (Not the first time!) Hopefully one day they will give her own pub to run!

Had the pork belly. It came with one carrot. We spent 150.00 and the portions were very poor.

Nice pub and friendly staff. We order beef and blade of beef for Sunday late lunch. Very, very tough meat. I couldn't eat the blad of beef. I don't think freshly cooked but cooked, frozen, defrosted then reheated. One piece you couldn't actually cut through. I did receive a refund for my meal though.

Megan our young lady server was kept busy with all the diners but she was cheerful and attentive to everyone. The ice cream in hubby's dessert was so creamy and he loved the chocolate cookie that came with it. Wine prices have gone up sadly. 22/4/24 Nice ambience in the restaurant. Megan our server was efficient, polite and friendly. Food was great as usual. Peroni £6.50 a pint a tad expensive. Bottle of house white £22.50, also a bit expensive imo.

Sunday roast was awesome, big portions and delicious, melt in your mouth slow cooked beef!

Really beautiful pub with a cutesy old world rustic feel. Lovely food and staff who can’t do enough. Had a wonderful pork belly with perfect crackling. There is a wonderful indoor fire that kept us all lovely and warm as it is Jan. lovely decor and mostly accessible. Main toilets on first floor but there is an accessible bathroom on ground.

A really nice meal in a great pub/restaurant only 5 minutes from the Caravan and Camping club site.

First time had lunch at this restaurant and probably won’t come back. The lady who took and served our orders seemed to be not in a good mood? Didn’t smile at all and looking grumpy. I had a seafood linguine and I would say it’s 5/10.

Very popular restaurant and bar. Nice food and staff. We meet here regularly and would advise booking in advance. They have vegan and veggie options on the menu and some lovely non-alcoholic cocktails.

Booked for a party of 17 for a birthday celebration. We ate from the celebration menu. The food was fantastic, all courses came out at the same time, were piping hot and delicious, which was impressive for the size of our group. The service from the waiting staff was spot on. They were attentive at all times. Harriet looked after us, and provided a 5 star waiting service. Altogether very impressed with the kingfisher, and how they handled a large booking at a busy time of year. Highly recommended for a group booking. Excellent!

The hospitality was relaxed, friendly and non-intrusive. The food was good quality, came out warm and nicely presented. They let us (a group of 12) go at our pace asking if we were ready or would like a pause? Lovely views. Tables well positioned.

A lovely pub in a great venue. For the price the food was slightly disappointing but still enjoyable.

As has been my experience with all my previous visits to The Kingfisher , the food and service were absolutely excellent. Our waitress was both professional and personable and struck the balance perfectly between being attentive without rushing us at all. It was, as ever, a throughly enjoyable dining experience and, as always, excellent value for money. In terms of improving, I really cannot see many ways in which you could. I will mention two things but, would stress that these are very minor indeed and, are purely from a personal perspective. The first is actually on behalf of my wife who, as a vegetarian, felt that the options were a little limited compared to other places she has visited recently. She absolutely loved what she did order though! The second is regarding the background music being played. As it was relatively quiet when we first got there, the volume felt a little loud and, I felt, should have been adjusted accordingly. It certainly didn't mean that we couldn't talk comfortably with one another, just a bit distracting is all.

I visited last Friday and the food/ service did not disappoint again, harry was our waiter and was amazing!! Always smiling and bubbly and ensures you have a lovely meal, food was full of flavour and very enjoyable

Sunday roast for 5 people - Chicken, and Yorkshire puddings were dry, lack of gravy and seasoning with food - it's was disappointing to be honest as we had better meals at Kingfisher in the past. The service was good but then again, the food is what we came for and it did not meet our expectations on this occasion.

So incredibly anticlimactic, first of all the food didn’t even fit at the table so i had to eat at a weird angle, not ideal. Incredibly odd waitress, we asked her to not serve us one of the sides that came with the meal to prevent waste because we werent going to eat it and she brought it anyway and laughed about it. Whilst the meat was the only saving grace the sides were all so disappointing, stuffing balls with the texture of pva glue, roast potatoes somehow both soggy and burnt, cracking that looked like it came from the treat isle at pets at home and veg that was more grey than green. For £48 you’d expect far better.

Overall disappointing, had a booking for what was meant to be a nice evening out with my partner. The waiting staff are lovely yet the obvious nonchalant attitude from management is horrendous. When ordering 60 pounds worth of food for two people, you expect the chef to give you some respect with the quality of food prepared. But as we ordered we asked for no cauliflower cheese and If possible to change it to something of the same value on the menu. The fear in the waiters eyes, of the thought of speaking to the chef to do a simple item change makes it very clear that they have no care for the food they produce. At this price for what you get in the Roast sharing board, is comparable to throwing some lack lustre trimmings including the most over cooked veg I have seen ! At a plate that from looks alone has not seen the inside of a dishwasher in 10 years (ALSO IT DOESN’T COME ON A BOARD)

Excellent lunch at Kingfisher served by a lovely waitress Ella who was charming, gave excellent service and was the most polite and friendly person .

Awesome selection of drinks, food always fresh, relevant and up to date menu. Excellent differentiation from the staff to dietary needs. A thoroughly lovely pub to visit.

I took my nan out for her birthday dinner here. Food was excellent, especially the cheeseburger. Our waiter, Denis, was extremely pleasant and very welcoming, offering advice on personal favourite food, too.

Staff were very very polite and welcoming. The food was exceptional and would definitely order again. And the warm cosy atmosphere inside makes it a very nice place to come to!

We love this pub! The food is exceptional amd there is a plethora of drink choices. What makes it stand out however is the kind, efficient, knowledgeable staff, always on hand to answer questions and go above and beyond for their customers.

Here for Sunday lunch ( Again), we both had the duo of beef roast . Delicious as always , great lunch , the gravy amazing. We also shared the trio of desserts, outstanding. Also we were looked after by the lovely Grace , just perfect .

We had a wonderful meal here this evening, service was great and the food was excellent.

good parking. Friendly greeting and shown to table Smiling and curteous staff . Good menu choice. Three meat roast was superb . The crumble was to die for and no problem when I asked for ice cream AND custard. Staff very attentive. Such a good venue and although busy nothing was too much trouble. EXCELLENT

Harriet and Tianna are the best they go above and beyond in their customer service even when sat in the bar area they still provide table service. They highly recommend the calamari which was exquisite. The food is high end and I have not found one fault with the food or the surroundings. The ribeye steak is unbelievable I love this place and have recommended it to family and friends who frequently visit now

The missus and I had the Delicious veggie burger and the butter chicken burger. The service was great and Harriet was so friendly, she made us feel very welcome. Great pub would recommend!

Roast without veg unless you count parsnips and 3 roast potatoes. Sirloin tough. Very disappointing. Fish and chips described by my partner as not very nice. Rioja was not of good quality although very expensive.. staff disinterested apart from one barmaid. Tables left with dirty dishes, music too loud. Expensive mistake......Avoid

Late afternoon, so quite quiet. Food good, but I would have like a few more veg and cooked a bit longer. 4/5 beans and 3 long stem broccoli, bit too crunchy

Came for lunch for a friends birthday, first visit and we had such a lovely time The atmosphere was really nice, staff were very friendly, our waitress called Anaiya was kind, friendly and was very helpful with my friends intolerance - she even checked with the kitchen- amazing! The food was perfect, I had a starter of goats cheese with poached beetroot and poached pear in a blackcurrant jus - so light and tasted amazing and for main I had the fish and chips - battered was crispy, fish lovely and soft, chips were crunchy and the peas were minty - thank you and we will be back

We firstly requested a drink off the soft drink menu for an under 18 year old and got told that we were not able to have this as it promotes under age drinking, (we asked for a passion fruit and blood orange soda). Our server then informed us that it wasn't her or the restaurants management's rules, and that it was the company policy. She then said that if this was her choice she would serve the drink to us. The server then become overly defensive. During our ordering of our main course, our server offered to exchange the peas on a meal for vegetables which we were charged for without our knowledge, as well as this we were billed £2.50 for no more than a desert spoon of peppercorn sauce. At the end of our dinner we asked her for the bill where we waited for 15 minutes to receive no bill. We then went up to the counter to request the bill again, where our server then avoided contact with us whilst we paid for the meal with a different server. This made us feel unwelcome.

Starters were good, sea bass and roast fine. 2 fillet steaks ordered were badly cooked and inedible. Most of meat taken home for dog. Not what you expect for most expensive item on menu

Went for Sunday lunch with friends a few weeks ago. The roast beef was delicious & they didn't scrimp on the gravy when we asked for more! Served by Luca who was helpful & funny.

A meal for two for my boyfriend on a Wednesday for his birthday, it was busier than expected and we hadn't booked. They found us a table in no time. The food was generous and delicious. My boyfriend said it was like a nice pub with restaurant food 😀. Would definitely visit again.

Welcoming atmosphere and good car parking

I go to the Kingfisher probably once per year only because we don't live super close and every time I go, I think "I need to come here more often". Today was no different. All staff were welcoming and smiling. Food was delicious. Drinks choice was great. Venue is clean & welcoming. Toilets are clean. I really couldn't fault it. So nice to go somewhere faultless! Well done Kingfisher team and look forward to seeing you again soon.
