We came for dinner for all our family and would thoroughly recommend it! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.

Cycle to the cafe quiet regular. Great for a stop off and sit on the green. Great coffee and wide range of foods to choose from.

George (the landlord) has managed to do something that is very hard to come by nowadays, by serving restaurant quality food whilst keeping the atmosphere and community feel of a village local. I have visited many times and it is always friendly and welcoming. We recently held our work Christmas meal here and the food was superb, service was impeccable and we all had a fantastic evening. Thank you George and your wonderful team!

Went to the George and Dragon recently with friends for the Christmas meal. I had a venison pie and pear crumble with lots of veg and of course plenty of Prosecco! Both the Venison and the crumble were absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend the Christmas menu. Thank you George and the team for a great evening.

If you want a proper local pub with great food and drinks this is your place! We recently had the delight of having our Christmas meal here at the George and Dragon. (For the second year running). The food was excellent (George’s festive menu), wine list superb, everyone had a great time, of course as usual the service was mega and the staff all brilliant! Throughout the year George (The Landlord) always puts on a great menu, great events and most importantly a great local atmosphere. We’d be lost as a community without the pub, we’re incredibly lucky to have such a great place to eat, drink and socialise. Thanks for all the hard work guys, it’s much appropriated. What a great find, near Waddesdon Manor. Booked in as a coach party of 56 for dinner at 5.15 p.m., everyone one was served pre booked menu choices by great staff. Food was very good, Venison pie, roast turkey, loin of pork, lasagna or vegetarian choice on the day. Great atmosphere, comfortable surroundings, excellent food and charming staff, you could not ask for anymore. While we were accommodated the G&D were also very attentive to regulars at this great venue. A must to recommend. Stuart.

Some places just simply try harder than others to please & that is true of the George & Dragon. We were a party of over 30 dining and the staff all took it in their stride. Service is warm and friendly and efficient. Everyone said the food was truly excellent & I particularly loved the venison pie. Nice wines and looks like a great choice of beers. I just wish we lived nearer to here as we would be eating here a lot. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our staff Christmas meal last night. Delicious and varied menu which everyone enjoyed, beautifully presented with lots of extra veggies and gravy. Service was great too. Pub looks festive with gorgeous traditional seasonal decor. We will definitely be back.

Lovely pub and tea room. Polite and friendly staff. We were 5 minutes late to rate I. The pub so went to the tea room and had paninis and a coffee. Nice location on the green by the windmill. Worth the stop.

Just Wow! The food and atmosphere in this place is 2nd to none. Went for a meal with my wife and the quality of food was incredible. We got shown to our table immediately by lovely staff. It’s a very traditional place which is lovely to see these days. The ambience is perfect and makes you feel you’re in a proper village pub - goes without saying the location is sublime - views are epic. The chef cooked up some beautiful steaks and the wine complimented the food perfectly. Will definitely be coming again - we heard the Sunday roasts are well with the visit.

We drove pass this place a few weeks ago and said we must visit for food. We stopped today for Sunday dinner and we weren't disappointed. Both of us had the roast pork, cracking was fantastic, didn't pay extra for cauliflower cheese and extra gravy. Amalie, hope I spelt it right, was smiley and very welcoming and it's very rare these days to get service with a smile, thank you

The roast was as good as ever, my beef was tender and cooked to perfection, with an amazing selection of vegetables. Lemon posset for dessert was delicious, and both my mum and I were given flowers at the end, which just made it perfect. Staff are efficient and friendly. Really great meal overall and will definitely be back!

Mother's day meal, squeezed us in when we booked late, tons of food expertly cooked, puddings massive. Bit of class at the end, supplied kids with flower bouquet to give to mum and mother in-law afterwards, great stuff. Staff friendly and happy! Couldn't ask for more. Well done Big George and crew👍👍👍 got me bonus mother's day points!

I visited the George and dragon for Sunday lunch for Mother’s Day! The beef was beautifully cooked, best roast dinner I have had! Along with the chocolate mousse for desert!! To top off the amazing food, the staff were even better, very warm and friendly which makes the experience even better! When provided with the bill my mum was gifted with a lovely bouquet of flowers. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Cannot recommend the George and dragon enough!

Lucky to have this pub in our village. The Sunday lunches are great, the meat is from the local butchers, a great choice of veg and decent yorkshires, what more could you want! A fabulous Sunday for the family. Maybe the best roast beef we've ever had actually..... The pork was super too. But I think possibly even more important... the service. Great staff, friendly and smiling, bringing lovely food to our table. You know... that the staff know.... . that the food is good. Nice vegetable selection with the Sunday roast, with an offer of more if we needed it. Cauli cheese and some good red cabbage magic, along with the carrots and brocoli and swede. And a HUGE Yorky with a roast slice of parsnip! It's what makes Sunday... Sunday. Thanks George and Dragon. A lovely Sunday lunch for our family.

Just the perfect place for a meal. The food was ‘Michelin’ style - it was the best meal I’ve had out for a long long time. A nice small, cosy restaurant with very welcoming staff. Add it to your ‘must go to restaurant’ if you’re in the area!

We had a fantastic supper at the G and D. Superb sirloin and dauphinoise, perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. George, the chef, had planned a tasty and exciting menu for Valentines. We look forward to going back soon.

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat with friends. The G&D is under new management from a local man who trained in the London restaurants as a chef…. Wow!! One of the best steaks I’ve had and a lovely selection of beers to go with it. Thanks for having us! We will definitely be back. This was not our first visit to the pub but our first visit under new management

A great pub in the heart of Quainton by the green. It has a good selection of Ales at the bar for a great price, it also does amazing food.

Absolutely lovely village pub with great views and super service. Excellent choice of meals and does a great Sunday Roasts. Lovely to see a good range of beverages particularly Ales. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The coffee shop is also excellent serving hot meals, choice of sandwiches and lovely coffee - if you’re in the area or passing through the coffee shop and pub are a must visit!

We enjoyed a great work Christmas do this weekend. The pub has recently come under new management and the team really surpassed all expectations. The food was all delicious - but the salmon starter was heavenly! We will definitely be back.

What a find! Next to the pub, and such a good idea. Fast and efficient service. Very tasty food. Perfect for a weary walker, or even one who had been simply sliding around in the mud.

The george is an excellent friendly comfortable Pub with lovely surroundings in fact a great village pub in Quainton. We had a family catch up lunch and the customer service was wonderful all way through food fantastic and good choice especially the pies very filling and tasty so was my scampi. I would highly recommend this pub to all.

Stopped off for Sunday roast lunch and a couple of beers, very good indeed. Roast pork was so tasty, as was the chocolate sponge pudding. Good selection of beers too. Good and friendly service from staff.

Lady who served us was extremely unfriendly, obviously a bad day for her!! 3 very small drinks, one of which was a can of coke, £10, crazy! We are fairly local and will not be returning. Shame as the pub itself is nice. Plastic cups too!

Popped into the cafe for a breakfast, which was a proper full English: the usual suspects (bangers, beans, bacon etc.), plus the less-often seen grilled tomato, fried bread and black pudding. Friendly service, and a decent cup of tea. Upstairs was a welcoming place to enjoy brekkie with a view over the village green.

Staff were so kind filling my water bottle when I was out walking with friends - we returned later to enjoy a super pot of tea and gorgeous ice creams!

Poor selection of real ales only the local Vale brewery which is not nice and overpriced. Thought that I can't go wrong with a pint of Guiness at £6!!!! But I was wrong, not well kept. We used to use this pub a lot, sadly not any more.

Everything we read on here for this place is true!! We went on a visit to Buckinghamshire steam railway! Great fun. Then I had read about this place so we drove around the corner and popped in. Even though we hadn't booked and it was a Sunday lunchtime they were so lovely and helpful and found us a table. Our 4 &5 yr olds loved their fishfingers meal. Our roasts were amazing!! The desserts were soo good!! Very kind, attentive, friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!

I'd like to say thanks to G&D cafe staff for looking after me today. Turning up for lunch at 3.58pm when they close at 4.00pm it pushing it but no problem, blt sandwich, coffee and cake. Courtyard table, no rush to leave, thank you from a tired hungry cyclist.

Nice environment...the Cornish Pasty was one of the best I ever had! The cappuccino was to hot initially which meant the coffee as burnt, but didn't detract from the overall experience! Would recommend and will be going back!

Pop in here fairly regularly for a coffee on a cycle ride, staff always happy to help, decent coffee and a good selection of homemade cakes and bakes. Also have sandwiches, crisps and chocolate bars. Bonus for cyclists, I was told today by a fellow cyclist who unfortunately had a puncture, that they have a free to use track pump, handy to know!

It was the first hot chocolate drink I've had that was HOT and tasted lovely. I will return.
