This was booked as Christmas dinner with friends. Starter and desert were very nice but my main which was the veggie option was unappetising to say the least. Great lumps of vegetables served needing more cooking. No crackers or anything festive. Disappointing. The staff were very efficient and friendly as ever.

Our first visit, and recommended by our AirBnB Hostess. We weren't disappointed. The seating, lighting and atmosphere made it a relaxing time for us after a day travelling. The food was beautifully presented, and very tasty - we had the lamb, followed by viola desserts. Our Server was Sienna, and she was cheerful and attentive. As we left, we felt well fed, relaxed, and loved the walk through the lit up bower. Ample car parking opposite, so no stress trying to find a space to park. We WILL return.

Came here as we were passing through, Not many quality vegetarian options, so I went for the fig&Dolcelatte roast. The food was priced high but a low standard. 8 old friends met for dinner and an overnight stay. We had a fabulous time and the place was the perfect venue. We were lucky to have the private dining space so we could laugh and chat without disturbing the other patrons. The food was really good and exactly what you would expect from pub grub. The staff (especially Ollie) were very attentive and patient with a rather roudy , fun loving group. The accommodation was perfectly fine and breakfast was crackerjack. The only really minor (really minor) oddity was the DJ who started his set at about 5pm, built himself into a frenzy by 8pm and then was gone by 9pm! Thanks to everyone at the Bell for a great time.

Every Wednesday I take an elderly gentleman who is in a care home out for lunch. We have been to about 8 or 9 pubs in the Wendover / Aylesbury area, and this is the first time that I have been very disappointed. I had high expectations as the car park was very busy. We had to eat in the bar as the restaurant was full, which was fine. I ordered the Rotisserie chicken, and my friend had the fish and chips. My chicken was an incredibly small half, and it was very very dry and over cooked. The word Rotisserie conjures up a juicy moist affair, but alas I would have done better to go to Kentucky fried chicken. It was also billed as coming with skin on fries, but what came was the usual frozen McCain type of cardboard fries, all of which made the price of £17.95 quite ridiculous. To be fair, my friends fish and chips looked good, and he enjoyed it. Finally, at no point did anyone show us any welcoming phrases like enjoy your meal, or when I came to pay, I was not asked if everything was ok, and neither the girls or the boy behind the bar said goodbye when we left. I just felt the whole experience was just a money making exercise with no love or care to be found. It would do well for the owner/manager to reflect that the customer does have a choice, and I know I will be exercising mine.

Been here a number of times but the food on our last visit was just very poor for the price! Garlic Pizza bread said “drizzle of Pesto” and was covered in bland grass tasting green gloop, it was oily and quite frankly inedible! The dirty burger was ok but a £16 burger should be better than this surely!! Margarita pizza was ok! The service was spot on as always but for £90 meal for 3 people ….. not worth it for the price! The toilets were very dirty (stalls) appreciate you can’t clean after every fella has a dump but both stalls were unacceptable. Sad because it’s a lovley building and the service staff seem to care but the food was well below par! Friday evening at 6.15 wasn’t that busy so felt like there was no care taken tbh!

This is a lovely pub and restaurant, we have been here many times with various friends and family members and everybody always loves it as much as we do! The staff are friendly and efficient and the service has always been perfect - we've never felt rushed or forgotten about. The menu selection is fab (and tweaked seasonally) and we've collectively tried almost everything - every dish has been delicious, much better than usual gastropub food, and they also do really nice cocktails! The decor inside is very pleasant, the restaurant area is stylish and modern, whereas the pub feels more casual and homely. There's also a nice garden so you can dine outside, and it's dog friendly :) Basically, The Bell is awesome, so we always go here if we want to be guaranteed an delicious meal and an amazing experience. Had dinner here on a Saturday evening. It wasn't as busy as expected but I'd advise to book as it can get very busy. The decor and layout of the building is lovely. Staff are friendly. My biggest issue is the prices. I ordered half a pint of lemonade and it was £3.40. extortionate!!! A non alcoholic peroni 330ml was £4.20. I'd expect that for alcohol but that's extremely expensive. I had a Margherita pizza with added 'exotic mushrooms'. It was nice but the mushrooms were chestnut mushrooms. That is not exotic. My OH had the pork belly with scallops. It was a very small piece of pork belly but well cooked. The two scallops which it came with were the size of a 10p each and cost £5 on top of the pork belly cost. Again very disappointed. The lemon tart was too sweet and was smothered in far too much jam like substance. Maybe my expectations for this place were too high but I left disappointed. It's not often I'd advise to go elsewhere to spend your hard earned cash but I would on this occasion. I hope the venue reads this and considers what it could improve on.

We stayed at The Bell for one night. Family of 4 with one double room and one twin room. The building itself is beautiful. Well cared for frontage with lights arching over the path and what looks like a lovely outdoor seating area for warmer weather. Inside is similarly impressive with loads of original features, exposed woodwork and cozy areas to eat and drink. The hotel rooms were very impressive. Our double room (room 4) was huge with a really big bed. All the usual things you expect to find and a generous shower room. The room was extremely clean and warm and we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep; there was no noise from other rooms or outside. Our sons' twin room was also nice with a really big shower room and a lovely fireplace. We enjoyed a Sunday roast in the evening which was excellent. We ordered two 3 meat roasts, steak, and panzanella beef fillet salad. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and found it great value considering the quality and service. We had the 3 scoops of ice cream and warm cookie, the cookie was not warm is was basically a Maryland however the ice cream was extremely enjoyable. Also ordered the biscoff chocolate bomb with a brownie, brownie was rock solid and cold. The biscoff was scooped straight out of the jar and the price was purely exaggerated due to the melting performance of the chocolate shell.

Fantastic food always! Fresh fish and lots of lovely crispy chips. They seem to have regular drivers via just eat who are always lovely and friendly. I don't go anywhere else as never had a bad meal and food always delivered quickly. Keep up the great service!

Called in tonight, ordered 3 medium cod and chips. The one fish was OK, but the other 2 were the smallest and skiniest cod I've even been served in any fish & chips shop in this country. This is not their normal, usually everything is perfect. But tonight, a bit embarrassing, to be honest...

Beautifully presented, delicious food for the fine dining event recently. Love the regular food too - definitely worth a visit but book in advance!
