I ate too much and now I feel shame 😞

As soon as I started queuing outside I was hit by the smell of cheap rancid vegetable oil. It made the chips taste inferior like oven chips, while the battered sausage had soggy batter as the stuff doesn’t crisp your food up properly. Learn from the proper fish and chip shops in the North please and fry your food the traditional way in beef dripping. Fish and chips cooked in rubbish industrial oil is like watery, tasteless semi-skimmed ‘milk’ on your cereal - a real let down!

Best fish and chips in Aylesbury. Also, do you want anything in batter? This is the place to go.

Our local chippy which is always a great option. Staff are friendly and service is usually fast. I tried the battered chips with their spicy seasoning on my last visit which are different! I enjoyed them so they're worth a try, but get them alongside normal chips otherwise you may not get your chip fix, and they're quite heavy on their own!

Every takeaway I have got has been absolutely lovely, had the rock this week and it was amazing, next Friday I think I will have the cod and rock. The curry sauce is banging as well.

Came here last night 2.11 2023, with my father, we ordered, pie and chips, and sausage batter and chips, served by 2 amazing young ladies who was full of smiles and happiness, service was really amazing, food was outstandingly great, great staff, great food, will definitely be making this my first choice of fish shops from now on, keep up the great work ladies.

Ordered haddock and chips. Had to wait a bit but it was worth it. It was hot and fresh and it was worth every single penny. I would highly recommend this fish and chips takeaway!

Cod fillet not fresh. Was dry. The butter was too hard looked the Cod was done days back. It was small, hard, not fresh and won't be coming to you again.

Simply the best fish and chip shop in Aylesbury! Have been coming here since childhood and it just never changes - in the best way possible! Always quality food for a decent price with the addition of friendly staff, good delivery service via Just Eat too! As a customer for over 15 years, would highly recommend to anyone in the area! If you live in Aylesbury and have never been here what are you doing?!

I love the sausages. I never seem to make mine at home well. The service is superb. The food is cool. The atmosphere is great, and the pick-up time is excellent.

The chips from Hi Tide are absolutely first class. I've never had a bad experience and regularly recommend this chip shop to my friends and family. The staff are always helpful and were brilliant throughout the covid pandemic. I'm happy to keep supporting this local business!

28th July 2022. Good/excellent enough to be an award winning fish and chip shop. Cod, cooked perfectly nice crispy batter that didn't go soggy after 5 minutes. In fact it didn't go soggy till. I ate it all. FRESH Chips, cooked perfectly crispy on the outside. Soft in the middle. Worth coming, 140 miles, Too review it I'm afraid no photos as I ate it all. Great value for money. Tonight's team at the shop, are like the English lionesses this week on top form. fish1chips2.

We live locally to this shop, but we only found out about it recently. We thought we would give it a go and we ordered haddock, chips and mushy peas. The price was fine for what you get and the staff were friendly. The food was great, possibly the best fish we have tried. It was well cooked and crispy. A thumbs up from us.

Have been a big fan of hi tide, but recently I don't know what has happened to the chips, more soggy than crisp. Not sure if you have had a change of oil suppliers but leaves me with a lump in my throat and just can't eat hardly any of them. What's changed ??

Got a last min takeaway last night for the family. As I had 2 young children with me, was able to pre-order, and was ready for me to collect- piping hot, and very tasty. That extra touch of being able to pre-order was brilliant and made it extremely easy. My extremely fussy 6 year old Rhys (who normally only likes a takeaway from MacDonalds on the rare occasions we get one!) said Hi Tide is now the only place he likes as it is the best! Great work and thank you to Kyle and the team!

I've always had freshly cooked chips. Usually go down on a Saturday evening, but went on a Thursday this week. Very well cooked and a lovely golden brown. Easily the best chips around. It's worth putting your own salt and vinegar on if you don't like too much of one or the other (like most places). I can't comment on the other bits they offer, such as burgers, kebabs etc, but the fish and chips were cracking. Plus it's only a stone throw from my house which is dangerous.

Ordered sausage and chips for me and my partner. Sausage fine, but chips awful..way over cooked. They taste weird..maybe because they were overcooked? I've had to leave them..not edible. My partner can't eat his either. A complete waste of time and money.

Never been here before , never will return again I don’t know if the potato’s were cheap or the chips were cooked twice . I had salt and vinegar but they were still soooo dry . Worst chips ever

Sadly, a disappointing meal. A large Haddock and chips which was more like a large chips and haddock. Then a nice long blonde hair along with a more bones than I’d have liked. I get that fish have bones but chip-shop fish should be filleted. 🙁🙁 For the avoidance of doubt no one in our household has long hair or blonde hair. Update: following the lame and completely dismissive reply from Hi Tide I’ve decided not to eat from there again.

so whole family wanted fish and chips so went to high tide in Stoke Mandeville massive portions and amazing food kids loved it and eat it all massive thanks for grate service and brilliant food to kyle and team

We used to get Fish and Chips from The Codfather. However after having substandard food twice in a row we decided to try a new place. We are so glad we did. The food was excellent. Hi Tide is now the only place we will be getting fish and Chips from.

I travelled here as an alternative to the Codfather in Aylesbury. While the portions was small, it was fresh and very tasty. I don't normally eat the fish batter but I ate all this. I like my batter a bit soggy so was perfect for me, but maybe not to everyone's taste. I would go again.

This is the very best fish and chip shop in town. I know friends that drive 3-4 miles across town just to buy here. Haddock is fresh line caught, Cod is lovely and my Plaice was perfect

Been here over the years but tonight the chips wasn’t right may be left for sometime.

Used this shop last week and the food was very good, went back tonight my fish was thin and dry the batter was 5 times the size of the fish, when I phoned to complain the manager handled it with the attitude of a 10 year old and told me to go somewhere else next time!

Excellent Fish & Chip Shop. ordered over the phone and delivered to the Hospital in 45 minutes (I don't think they do general delivery). Very good meal, with beautiful chips (not greasy, cod and a vegeburger). All loved their meals. Thank you.

Plaiced a large order for cod and chips and a vegeburger. They delivered to the spinal unit at the hospital, which was very kind. Great value at around £6 per person. Chips were perfect. Well cooked, chunky and not greasy. Reviews were excellent from everyone. Will use again and again!

I asked kyle if they could cater for a large group of people. He gave me a good quote and kept me up to date with everything. He allowed me to cancel some numbers at the last minute. We were running a charity quiz night and asked for 43 servings of cod and chips. Lots of positive comments about how good the food was. Kyle delivered and collects everything. He was very helpful and would definitely recommend the chippy. It made our quiz night very successful. Thank you.

Hi-Tide catered our charity quiz night in aid of Cancer Research UK last Friday. They delivered our order promptly, supplied cutlery & condiments and even allowed a few last minute changes to our order. Many people commented on the high quality of the fish & chips and they certainly helped to make the night a very successful one.
