Gave up waiting for a table at the biscuit factory so thought we’d try here. Had a club sandwich and carrot cake. Top notch food and quick service. Highly recommended

I live in battlefield. I walk 5 minutes to there for sausage and bacon sandwiches. the staff always ask if you want sauce with your sandwiches. there is plenty of outside tables to sit at and the other clientele is friendly and non judgemental. Staff have a sense of humour though sometimes seem a bit skizzy. food is a bit overpriced £4.50 for a bun with 4 sausages , but top quality and sourced from real materials. Service is very quick from order. it is ok to smoke at the outside tables. There maybe needs to be a change in attitude to litter picking around the outside tables. appafently gordon ramsay has visited and liked it.

Great coffee and friendly service :) It’s disappointing everything is served in single use cups, and the only vegan option was the flapjack, for veggies and omnis the menu of breakfast baps and burgers looked good. Would go again for coffee for sure.

Been here a few times now. Staff always very friendly and helpful, coffee is a little strong for my liking but I do like it very weak. Food is amazing and really lovely. It’s our favourite place on a Sunday afternoon. Dog friendly too so even my Labrador can enjoy it 😃

Had a Decent cuppa and cake from here all lovely great service and plenty of seating .will try a bacon bun soon.would recommend

Called in today and had the best bacon bun I have had in a long time, it was lovely crispy bacon and when I complemented the staff on the bacon they said it was sourced from Carter's Butchers in Bamburgh,( well impressed) and the staff were lovely and helpful. I will definitely be back .

My family and I were staying in Jesmond while visiting Newcastle, and the Garage was conveniently located on the way to the Biscuit Factory which we planned to visit. The breakfasts sandwiches and drinks we had were really tasty, as well as some cakes from the counter. The setting is great - really laidback and unique being in the old garage, and the outdoor seating was perfect for the last of the Summer sun. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole experience felt like the Australian/Kiwi coffeeshop model which is starting to spread over here. We ended up visiting on two of the three mornings we spent in Newcastle, and will definitely be back on future visits!

Visiting friends for the weekend, popped in for brekky. Full English sandwich was unreal, black pudding and sausages were like quality butcher meat. Carrot cake was amazing too, nice to have the proper mascarpone icing rather than sweet buttercream! Belter latte to top it off Vibe is super rustic and very cool, staff v friendly

Just as I was going to reassess my last review and give some well deserved praise… two Luke warm flat whites and no latte art. Since my last review I have persevered and grown to love the coffee, food and ambience. The last couple of months has seen a consistent approach to preparation, mainly due to one man who seems to be there most of the time. But not today, although friendly as ever the barista skills were not great. Come on everyone, rally round and be the best. Ps, a bit of litter picking around the tables etc wouldn’t go amiss.

Return visit today after a year or more, visited late morning, so quite busy but plenty outdoor seats available. Lovely little menu and nice to have somewhere that does an all day breakfast option. Cheese on toast was gorgeous, so much cheese and a dollop of spicy Mayo, cheesy scrambled egg in a brioche bun was equally gorgeous. The Chocolate Guinness cake and Carrot cake was probably one of the best I’d tasted (I’ve tasted many), loved them. Coffee is good but lacks a bit flavour/aroma and kick! Great venue. Lovely friendly staff. Definitely return. Top marks.

Would love to give it a higher score but the coffee quality varies hugely with each visit. I love the attempt at Fitzroy/Brunswick Melbourne post workshop vibe. Exactly why we need to keep more of these buildings in amongst the anonymous blocks. Get together as a team and hone those barista skills. Each cup should be special.

called in for lunchtime takeaway and have to say two of the best cheese toastie I have had, crazy nostalgia this café for me as I used to take my cars here when it was working garage for over 30 yrs. Staff very friendly work a return cheers guys

Every Friday me and my son used eagerly look forward to our weekly coffee and caramel shortbread from the garage. However, over the last few months the quality of the caramel shortbread has sadly and significantly deteriorated (although it is still the same price!!!). I used to be more than happy to pay the steep price of £3 for the shortbread because it was so tasty, but the last few times it has been utterly shocking in comparison to previous visits!! The pieces are much smaller (less caramel and chocolate) and simply look worse (see picture attached). Still a nice cafe with decent coffee but has lost one of its USP’s for me. Please sort it out soon! Why would you ruin one of your best products?!

Excellent local coffee from Lindisfarne with friendly staff. Snacks and lunches are also very tasty and reasonably priced.

Visited here for a takeaway coffee and cake. Coffee is the best, they serve Pilgrim coffee from Holy Island. I can also recommend the caramel shortbread. All the cake on offer looked delicious. Once restrictions are lifted visit the cafe inside, very quirky (well it was originally a drive through car wash!!) it’s in my top 3 of best coffee, please visit.

I am sorry to say that on my second visit to The Garage, I felt let down. On arrival we were met by a not very friendly member of staff. We were hurried into making our choice as we entered, we hadn't event chosen our seat. We quickly chose from a limited menu on a chalk board, no menu was offered to us. We sat outside in the sun and then received our order in bits from very unhappy staff. Each item was handed to us in silence. We had to request sugar for our coffee and tomato sauce as it was not offered. The food was very average, and the experience was not great. At the end we had to go back into the restaurant and ask yet another unhappy member of staff for the flapjack we had asked and paid for as a takeaway. Not great, won't be returning.

Great food, lovely cup of coffee - Prosecco was included but I am tea total! Very quirky venue. Good size room for a private function. All very well presented - would recommend.

Pasé muchas veces por este pequeño y encantador café único y decidí hacer un brunch, después de un rápido google para un menú, no apareció nada, pero vi que había críticas positivas de Tripadvisor. Al entrar nos sentamos y buscamos un menú, sin embargo, la pequeña gama de opciones estaba en la pared detrás de la caja. Desafortunadamente, no había opciones veganas claras, lo que es un poco basura en 2020, ya que muchas personas son veganas, libres de lácteos o flexitarias. Estaríamos muy agradecidos si pudiera agregar algunas opciones a su menú, ya que tenía un ambiente encantador y queremos darle un negocio a un café independiente. !

Un lugar pequeño y agradable en un área estudiantil principalmente regenerada. El lugar es un viejo garaje, reutilizado de manera muy efectiva en una cafetería y posiblemente en un cine (tiene una gran pantalla blanca en una pared). Pedí una tostada y una hamburguesa halloumi. Ambos tenían una buena relación calidad-precio y muy sabroso. Definitivamente volveremos.

Este es un lugar peculiar y con un poco de esfuerzo, esto podría ser una vez más un garaje. La decoración es rústica, peculiar y en gran parte casera.El personal es amable y el café muy bueno. El menú es pequeño pero la selección de platos que tuvimos (hamburguesas y tostadas), eran muy buenos. Llegaría a decir que mi tostada de queso fue la mejor que he probado y que estaba muy bien llena. Los precios eran muy razonables.Hay una delgada línea entre rústico y crudo, creo que este lugar navega cerca del viento en este punto, pero es genial y definitivamente lo visitaré nuevamente.

He visitado aquí varias veces debido a que estaba en mi viaje diario y su exterior me llamó la atención inicialmente. Se encuentra dentro de un antiguo garaje MOT con algunas de las características originales restantes para agregar un toque pintoresco al encantador café que es ahora. Su café es el mejor que he probado y es genial que utilicen todos los negocios independientes en sus productos. Todavía tengo que comer aquí, pero la comida siempre se ve deliciosa, especialmente los productos horneados. También tiene un precio muy bueno en comparación con otros cercanos, como la seriedad, que es un poco más cara.

Pensamos que tendríamos un paseo antes del almuerzo desde el trabajo en esta parte de la ciudad, ya que uno de mis compañeros mencionó que habían estado en el planeta Kimchi el otro día y dijo que más allá de este lugar nos recomendó visitarlo.

This is a hidden gem of a place - it looks like a dump on the outside but the food, coffee and staff are fantastic. Its decor is very basic and industrial but don't be fooled. The coffee was a lovely blend, locally sourced from Northumberland. I would also recommend the cauliflower dhal...I am not a vegetarian by any means, but this was delicios, warming and rasonably priced.

What a great funky cafe, lovely staff and ambience.The coffee was amazing and lovely cake. My son had oxtail stew it was delicious, prices are reasonable well worth a visit,

Appears to be formerly part of a petrol station and very close to The Biscuit Art Gallery. Appropriately, the interior and exterior of the cafe is have an eclectic mix of of furnishing and almost random mix of items on the walls. All very quirky. Very nice Kola and Croissant too.

I was in the area and keen for a roll and sausage when I just so happened to stumble upon this hidden gem.

Just tried The Garage for the first time, didn't expect it to be so good - I think one of the best, if not the best, burgers I've ever had! Caramel shortbread also incredible. Really good simple menu done really well. Really recommend this place!

Quirky little restaurant converted from an old garage. Looks great, comfortable and the staff are eager to help. The eponymous Garage sandwich is the breakfast of champions!

This place is just great. The staff are so friendly and happy, the atmosphere is really chilled and most importantly the food and coffee is brilliant. Ive been here quite a lot of times, with friends and with my boyfriend as it is just round the corner. The menu always changes, but everything is always delicious. I really hope that this place is around for many years to come as it’s my favourite place in Newcastle.

Quirky little cafe/ coffee shop. Food was very nice and there was a nice calm feeling to the place. Well worth a look give them a go.
