Lovley food! Lovley atmosphere and John the member of staff went above and beyond. Would definitelyrecommend! My partner had the mixed grill and I had the cheeseand bacon burger. Were now both in a food coma!

We performed at the Gables and had a really good gig. All of the staff were very friendly and had a really good atmosphere. Would recommend for live music as both a performer and as an audience. Good vibes and good times.

Awful, overcooked, oil leaking, battered fish (battered boot more like) - insult to injury was the tablespoon of peas and store bought tartar sauce. Asked the server when she came over if it is normally done like this, she said that it was and the chef makes the batter themselves and it is a bit dense. If a chef is happy to send out this then they are not worthy of wearing a chefs jacket, it was inedible.

I have been coming in here for a number of years now and I feel so welcome every time. The staff are amazing, you can have a laugh and the price of food and drinks are very competitive. I would absolutely recommend the food for adults aswel as children, my kids love going to the gables for dinner.

I visited the gables yesterday and the staff couldn’t of been more helpful if they tried. I would recommend this pub to anyone the food is outstanding and the service is just on point.

Stopped off for a relaxing snack and drink! This place is a real gem. Staff were polite, chatty and conscientious.. Food fresh and sooo tasty.. ( lots to choose from too ) my favourite on draft, along with several other beers, ales and lager ... Looking forward for next visit ! Thanks to you all xx

Came to gables with my partner to have some drinks and was surprised at the selection of drinks they had. We were greeted by a polite and attentive man called Tom who suggested the best drinks for me. Excellent

This place is the heart and soul of leyland, food, drinks, and dealing with festival events incrediblely well, The handsome chap with the glasses is a credit to the place

Absolutely fantastic! Firstly a really nice atmosphere and greeted by fantastic staff! Lovely and clean and the food is brilliant! Well worth a visit! Oh and top entertainment at the weekend! Plus all the sports channels! I could live here!

I wouldn’t go anywhere else In leyland perfect indoors or outdoors. Classic local pub happy all the time when I go in for food or just a drink. Karaoke too brilliant atmosphere 🩷

Great little pub in the heart of leyland. Staff are all lovely was served by a lad called Arron on a few occasions and he’s a credit to the team there at the gables. Food is amazing compliments to the chef and overall atmosphere is spot on.

Nipped in for some lunch between clients. The old mout on draft here is always 👌🏼 I ordered the hunters chicken burger with chicken loaded fries, a nice addition to the new menu. Quick service, food was on my table in 10 minutes & everything tasted fresh. En route to my next appt with time to spare, will definitely be in for lunch again.

Very disappointed on this visit. Booked a table for my dad's 70th. There was 12 of us and 3 of us ordered starters which took about 45 mins to arrive. We then had to wait a further hour or more for the mains but by this time everyone had enough. There was no one else in the restaurant ordering so no excuse to wait that long and when they brought the first 2 dishes out the chips was stone cold. Was not happy at all and we all walked out. The table was ordered well in advance. There was 4 children part of the party who was very tired and hungry. Ended up having a McDonald's and my dad had nothing due to being so annoyed and angry as all he wanted was a family meal for his 70th. Will never go there again

We went for Sunday roast but it wasn't on for some reason unexplained, and ended up having some soulless microwave/fryer gash, delish 😋 thanks chef x

First visit to The Gables to try the new menu, ordered the southern fried chicken burger and upgraded to loaded chips which was an absolute delight.. Food excellent, Service excellent & great atmosphere!! 100% will be going back.

If I could give this review a No star I would do, soup cold mushrooms disgusting, the main meal took 45 minutes chips cold, egg under cooked, totally couldn’t eat it a waisted £45.50 it’s a Disgrace. When the girl came asked was everything ok I told her no, all she could up with the cook should of put the dinner on early. The pub was empty so no excuses he was busy !!!

Absolutely shocking and unacceptable since everything was preordered and timeslots given in advance. This Christmas meal wasn’t worth £20 pp never mind £60. The staff was working there little socks of while management just watched everything go wrong and did nothing but buried their head. This is the first Christmas Day meal me and my family have ever eaten out and it is the last. The management at this establishment have seriously put a black mark on there business from everyone that had the misfortune of thinking of booking here today. Even my 6year old grandson said it was the worst he has ever had. Over 3 hours to be served a 3course meal with items like veg and potatoes (all from frozen)missing frommany plates. I can not stress enough the lack of some form of humanity from management. Unbelievable the worst I’ve ever encountered. Not once did you come and apologise to customers who you could clearly see was not happy it was like we wasn’t there. The young boy coming out with all the plates was a trooper though you seemed to talk down to him. ( He was the only person we gave a tip to) ohh and to top it off I got overcharged by £10.00. Will be paying once last visit to the place for that.

You should be ashamed of the way you just handled Christmas dinner, charging 4 adults and 1 child £270 for what we just experienced was an absolute disgrace. The manager of the pub should have been going round apologising, not burying their head in the sand like they did and leaving it to 2 bar staff and 1 waiter to pick up the pieces whilst they are also having to work overtime on Christmas day. The food was not nice, and the adults' food arrived before my 6 year old nephews food. To top it all off, they overcharged us when we paid. Worst service I've ever received, my sister had items missing from her plate, and a man the next table over didn't even get any roast potatoes. Honestly, awful. My sister didn't even eat hers.

Ohhh dear, what has happened? After previous visits earlier in the year, when the food was excellent we decided to go for end of week treat meal. The pub was virtually empty when we arrived, although tables were set up for a Christmas booking,even though the pub was empty we were left waiting at the bar to be served. Waited 45mins for a meal which was totally disappointing. Very, very greasy fish, teaspoon of cold peas and cold chips. Bread and butter ordered but never appeared. Didn't raise issues as the Christmas party booking had arrived, and what staff there was seemed rather stressed. Sadly on this experience we won't be returning.

Busy early Saturday evening. Decorations for Halloween impressive. Lovely boisterous atmosphere. Rugby on large screens with live boxing later.

Lack of management around when busy, kids are working hard behind the bar but lacks organisation and leadership, shame when it works well it’s a good pub and food is also quite good just lacks managers presence especially when events are on in Leyland and when very busy.

Been here before and food was great. Menu not as good as it used to be. Got fish instead of lasagne. Also waited about an hour for the food

Under new management. Catering to a different crowd these days. Karaoke etc at weekends. I don't go in that often but all reports are it's livelier than it used to be.

Very disappointed went for a starter and sandwich due to hot weather to be told that the pub doesn’t do sandwiches at weekends ended up with a breakfast because we didn’t find anything else we fancied on the menu at 12pm and it was such a shame as with our original order if they had done it as requested they would have made more money considering we was the only customers in at the time !!!

Got to the pub, busy and bustling on a sunny Saturday evening (7:45pm). We were in Leyland visiting a friend who had said it was a good place for food and beer. Got in and found a table in the window, that seated the 6 of us. Other half was off to the bar to get drinks and we were about to look at menus when a quite cantankerous guy approached us and told us we had to leave as no kids were allowed in after 8pm. Thankfully the other half hadn’t quite got served with drinks due it being busy, although the bar seemed to be getting through waiting customers well. No signs visible that we saw stating this and the website says food until 9pm, and there’s a kids menu on the table, so we were a little bit surprised by this. Will try to be earlier next time we are over but disappointed at how abrupt the guy was, as well as dealing with 3 hungry kids, not to mention 3 thirsty adults. Better luck for us next time?

Possibly the worst Sunday dinner I've ever had cold potatoes, carrots, beans and Yorkshire pudding straight from the freezer and extremely over priced , they seem to think it's OK if they say sorry enough times. Just stay away it really is bad

Atmosphere average, prices high. Decor ok, toilets decent. Plenty of seats but music volume too low during day. Up or off, just annoying. Service 2/5.

Only the 2 stars as the pub is very clean and nicely decorated. The downfall is the rude member of staff trying to move us off a "reserved" table. (No reserved sign to be seen) Even though we had been sat there for 2 hours spending a decent amount of money on food and drink in the pub. I don't think the glares across the bar were necessary, safe to say we won't be returning.

First visit in some time and first since the refurbishment. The alterations have been tastefully done and created more open space without adversely affecting the atmosphere. It was, however, disappointing that no cask ales were available. It appears that there are normally 2 on offer but the pumps were not in operation. There always used to be an excellent, varied choice of cask ales here and it would be good if this choice were reinstated. As it is, for me personally, John Smiths bland, pasteurised keg would not encourage me to be a regular visitor.

It's most definitely improved with the new owners and its lovely to see the bar healthy and thriving. Everyone seemed to be have a good time but the entertainment wasn't to my liking.. but its live music and everyone loves a bit of live music 💕

Great local pub but the management need to stop people smoking in the doorway. Not every one likes secondary smoke when you come in or leave.

Booked a table for 13 for Xmas dinner and it was absolutely shocking!!! To say we paid £750 with out drinks!!! We got there our table wasn’t ready for another half an hour so got told to go to the bar and they was not beer left apart from spirits!!! Finally sat down then they come over to us to repeat our orders and half of it was wrong!!! Now onto the actual meal, shocking!!!! The soup was the best part of it but then when they brought our main out, my beef looked like the sliced stuff out of the fridge, the roast potatoes was new potatoes over done. My daughter ordered Mac and cheese then it come out with no cheeses sauce it just looked like mash!!!! Not one member of staff come over to us to apologise or offered to knock anything off the bill!!! Half of us didn’t even get our desert and the ones who did them in card board boxes because they said they was closing soon. It was that bad we are having Xmas dinner at home today. We will never step foot back in that place again!!! A phone call or some sort of apology would have been nice but we got nothing!!! 0/10

Me and my partner came In for the famous dirty fries. They were fantastic ! The chicken was delicious and my partners halloumi was amazing. Will recommend to anyone!

The worst black coffee ever. I understand is a pub and not a coffee shop but please if you going to offer coffee at least serve a decent coffee because there is just a few coffee shops around and during the day or afternoon a good coffee is always welcome.

Visited today with friends, ordered the Sunday Lunch advertised as £13.50 for Beef and Chicken with veg and potatoes. I can honestly say it was the worse Sunday lunch I've ever had. Beef was out of a packet and tough as old boots, chicken was a wing, on the bone, black and was burnt to a crisp. Frozen carrots, frozen green beans and packet roast potatoes. The gravy was nice. We left almost all of it. The management were notified and made themselves scarce when we complained. A full refund was given. Most tables around us were making similar complaints about the awful food served. The couple next to us waited over half an hour for their desert, she too got a refund for her main course. The bar staff were amazing and were left to pick up the pieces of the absent management. Check out other peoples plates before you order. It will be a while before we venture into that pub again for food. Very disappointed.

We went for lunch for first time ordered two chicken tikka wraps very very disappointed these where not wraps a very thick pizza,type base couldn't even make or roll it into a wrap and a weary salad with dressing no offer of a reduction in the bill on leaving very poor

Came for a meal on Monday, it was so good I took the family on Thursday and they absolutely loved it too. Christmas menu looks amazing we'll definitely be coming back.

Lovely food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Lost one star because it really needs a hand rail on the entrance steps especially for an elderly person.

They have a great selection of beers and spirits and the food is very reasonably priced and always spot on. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
