Came in with family for a reunion. Staff were lovely and food was well priced and good quality. Always nice that I am able to bring my dog places with me. He wasn't allowed in the main dining area but that was not a problem as we were quite happy in the bar area. Location can be a little hard to find behind the bushes if you don't know whete you are going. Would come again.

Staff were friendly. Landlady was very competent, but the junior staff were a bit mixed ... all were helpful, but felt like they were still learning their jobs. Food was mainly pleasant ... thai green chicken very nice but it needs some vegetables, but just pieces of chicken ... some baby sweetcorn or green beans or peas or something

Food and service are excellent. Quiet country location in a small hamlet, North Hampshire. Close to Highclere Castle for Downton Abbey fans, and Watership Down for literary/rabbit fans.

PLEASE NOTE. MY REVIEW IS HONEST AND ACCURATE, UNLIKE YOUR DISHONEST AND INACCURATE REPLY. I am very surprised that there are good reviews for this horrendous place. It doesn't even deserve one star. We had one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. I phoned the day before to confirm that dogs were welcome... I was incorrectly assured they were, but we would have to stay in the bar area. No problem there. On arrival an extremely rude elderly man said that dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in the garden. No greeting or pleasantries. Our two dogs are very small and very well behaved and we arrived with a dog pram showing that we are considerate dog owners, and had not planned to put them on the furniture, which I might add was very uncomfortable and tatty. As for the garden it was a muddy hole, like a bomb crater, containing 2 swings. We were made to feel very very very unwelcome. There were too many shocking incidents to include them all here. We were not asked if everything was ok, or if we wanted anything else. We were just ignored and there were only a couple of other customers there, and they were not eating. The chap who delivered our food to us spilt a drink all over my sons lunch. He didn't even apologise and should have offered to replace the meal. Unfortunately I did not notice. My son told me afterwards. When ordering, I asked if I could swap my fries for thicker chips. I was told I couldn't because I would only get 3 chips!!! Surely someone in hospitality should suggest ordering a side order of chips... We should have left but we had all travelled quite a long way to get there and we didn't know of anywhere else to go locally. Their food is seriously overpriced for the quality and quantity that you get. I wish the person who answered the phone had been honest about dogs not being welcome there, and we obviously would not have chosen to go there. I definitely DO NOT recommend that you waste your money or time going to this awful place.

If visiting Highclere Castle or even close to Newbury….You MUST stay here. Our experience after canceling reservation at another Location (they didn’t have AC) has been amazing! Reservations were efficient. The photos on light do not show haw charming this Inn really is. Our adventure starts at the train station where Richard picked us up in his local taxi. Not only did he take us The Furze Bush he waited while we dropped off our luggage before heading over to Highclere Castle. He said we could call him, and he would gladly pick us up when we were finished our tour. He did just that returned us to the Inn and nothing but exceptional service at the Inn. The restaurant had a “non- boring” menu, so it made dinner choices difficult. Everything was delicious and the 2 young lads who waited on us could not have been more charming, funny and personable. Our room was spotless, and the slipper bathtub was amazing. My last night of vacation included a hot soak in this amazing treat. Next morning (we only stayed one night) we called Richard to see if he would drive us to Heathrow. Agan, more exceptional service. Our only regret we didn’t stay longer…..but for sure we will be back and will tell everyone this place is EXCEPTIONAl!

Had a Sunday lunch on 26th May, by far the best roast lamb and roast potatoes I have had in a long time and a real plate full of food. Three was 6 of us and everyone was happy with the food.

So, When i went the staff were really nice and the wait time not too long, but the cheese on my cheese burger was WAY too melted and was really white with small, green spots, but the meat in the burger was fine and good. So 3 stars it is.

If you're looking for a friendly country pub in beautiful countryside with accommodation this is the place to stay. We were made welcome from the very start with a smiling greeting from our hostess until we left after breakfast. All the young staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Lucy N and Brandon. Would definitely recommend.

Held my 70th birthday here today the pub staff were absolutely brilliant, the food excellent and a great day all round by had by nearly 70 guests. Nothing was too much trouble despite numbers changing in 24 hours before the event, necessitating changing seating arrangements at short notice Huge thanks to all staff and management

We were recommended this place for a Sunday Roast dinner by couple we'd just met and were not disappointed! The food tastes as good as it looks, the staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. It's a lovely location near The Chase, perfect to visit after a Sunday stroll 😁

Lovely relaxed brunch in the new setting at Worting House. New setting is beautiful with all the spring bulbs coming up in the grounds. Café has been tastefully decorated and we had great service from our pleasant young waitresses. Lots of interesting choices on the brunch menu. We had poached egg and avocado on sough dough and bacon and egg French toast. Both delicious. Looking forward to trying more of the choices next time.

Simply ignored by the rude staff, the place was very quiet too, they seem to float around lazily chatting to collection drivers. Not a recommendation from me

The abysmal roast dinner was all microwaved to warm back up, so so bad that we actually laughed when we looked at it. Grey beef, watery gravy. Lasagne portioned off and then heated up so swimming in grease and FULL of chunks of garlic. Chips were fine but oily. Probably should have complained, but after a long walk we just wanted to eat something and get home, plus there is unlikely to have been much they could do to resolve things. Staff are nice. Dog friendly pub
