Use parking scam company who issue a penalty charge notice and debt collection agency even if you were a customer and spent money there!

Lovely food and the Liverpool game on big TV - epic!!!

Came here for a weekday pub tea with the family. Never eaten here before so wasn't sure what to expect. The Wexford Chicken (I think that's how it was spelt) was delicious and the white chocolate and lemon cheesecake was gorgeous! The blueberry eton mess that came with it complemented it perfectly (Yes I watch Masterchef haha). The staff seemed lovely and friendly too. No faults whatsoever

My first visit yesterday. I enjoyed a delicious meal with my mum and sister. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The ambience lovely and relaxed and I loved the curved wooden bar. Will definitely go again :)

we ordered the steak & ale pie and its was like trying to eat a house brick the pastry was that hard . kids burger wasnt cooked so sorry wont be returning

Went here multiple times over the span of a week as I was staying locally. Food is good enough and they serve typical pub fare. Kitchen closes a bit early in my eyes. One thing I found annoying is that the Staff need to stop congregating in the corner at one of the high tops and stay behind the bar, where they’re paid to be. Overall, a good experience and worth stopping in if in the area. Also have some good specials on drinks.

A fabulous Sunday lunch , , would have loved more mash potato . However it was lovely ,the cauliflower cheese was gorgeous .

Long wait for food and when it arrived the chips were cold and the meat was chewy and fatty. The waitress removed empty plates from table without waiting for everyone to finish eating which I found very rude & unprofessional. And she didn't even ask if we enjoyed our food! Pub run by a group of youngsters it seems, so that says a lot! Definitely won't be going back with friends:-/

Visited while having a couple of days in Manchester. Really nice for food, not expensive at all and a good pint of the local beer. Nice staff there too

I received a £60 fine after visiting the pubs for a drink with some friends. Despite no mention of parking regulations by the staff and a lack of signs indicating the need to register a number plate, I was still fined. When contacting the pub, it became clear that this issue was not uncommon and no assistance was offered. The parking company associated with the pub is making it challenging to appeal the fine, despite having evidence to prove that I was within my rights. Needless to say, they have lost four local customers.

Post christening buffet booked at Friendship Inn. Pathetic buffet. Emphasis by staff on profit not substance. I have never seen a quiche cut so thinly. Slices the size of a finger to maximise the numbers to provide less. The same with pork pies cut into quarters to provide less. Small bowl of lettuce for 40 people. And so on. Shameful and embarrassing. Totally ripped off. Would never advise anybody to book a buffet at this pub.

Beautiful food made to perfection.

After making a phone enquiry was easy to make a booking for our party of 10. The food was lovely..really like the new menu, have a fussy vegetarian teenager and she loved it! The staff were lovely and polite and made sure we had everything and kept checking back to make sure all was ok. We were celebrating a birthday and they really made it a lovely family meal for us including singing to my daughter when they brought her cake out..highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Friendship and will most definitely be returning.

Had a meal in the Friendshio with a friend who lives local. I've now received a parking find for using the car park, phoned the pub only to be met with a brick wall, not interested and now saying they've had the system removed which doesn't help me after spending close to £100.00 now having to pay another £60.00. Definitely won't be using that place again. I might add there was nothing to say put your registration in and Definitely no signes. Extremely disappointed by the whole thing. Patrick.

Two weeks on from my visit, I receive a £100 car parking fine for parking on The Friendship’s car park, whilst in the Friendship, drinking the Friendship’s drinks! Never at any time was I advised to enter my registration number into an ipad by any of the staff, who were not busy at 3.30 in the afternoon. The signage to do so is not demonstrable in any way. Appalling way to treat customers. First and last visit from me.

Yesterday, myself and a group of friends called into the friendship for a drink and a bite to eat. I was overall very pleased with the experience, the food was great with generous portions, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this place, I will be returning with my family😁

Insulting staff! We ate food there; we were last to order, so the staff appeared to resent that we ordered late. My friend ordered two soft drinks but forgot to take them from the bar, so about 10 minutes in, the waitress came over and said your drinks are on the bar instead of just bringing them over. Then I asked the bartender for two glasses of ice, and he commented that it was weird because no one ever just asked for two glasses of ice, so I asked him what was strange about it, it was for the soft drinks we ordered, so he said that people usually ask for their glasses with ice with their soft drinks. When the food arrived, my friend's wrap turned out to be unexpectedly spicy, with no indication on the menu. She requested some yoghurt to balance the heat, but the kitchen informed us that they were closed and couldn't provide any. This was before 9pm, and yet they refused a simple request. I will never step into this pub again!

The food was not all that good my friend went a few weeks ago said in was nice that's why we went maybe if was a off day for them I don't know don't think I go again

Ate in the beer garden and the tv was super loud. But the service and food was wonderful

The food was over an hour and a half wait and was awful. Three other tables demanded refunds as the food was disgusting. The staff seemed clueless 🙄 when asked by another customer she simply replied yea yea I'm pretty sure he's making it now anyway what and contained a conversation with another member of staff.

Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way at a busy time. Great choice of food with themed days. Great selection of Joseph Holt beers.

Don't forget to register Your Car No Plate at the front gate Display ( monitor ) is based next to Playing machine..(we know it now) Nobody let You know about it especially if is Lancashire Derby Manchester United vs Liverpool FC and You have not enough time to check the Car park signs at rainy weather at dark afternoon properly! Food is allright . Drinks ok. You can watch the PL football games 'n 3 Screens inside & 1 outdoor sitting area as well.

Most expensive drinks ever! Got a parking ticket for £100 forgetting to input car reg. Manager said he'd sort it (I went in twice and rang up once) and he said he was asking them to take the machine out as too many customers are getting fines. I disputed it with parking company also providing credit card proof of money spent at said time in The Friendship. It's not Manchester City Center so don't know what the parking issue is, especially as I'm supporting local. Last time in here for us, will stick with The Woodthorpe. Manager bloke absolutely useless.

As a food place you don’t always walk straight to the bar, you head to the seating area so forgot to put my registration in, hit with a £100 fine, so beware guys gonna appeal it, but shouldn’t have to be doing this just for going for a relaxing meal, won’t be returning and the manager is rude!

Food is just what you want from good pub food. I go pretty often and it’s not always perfect however the team working there are friendly and approachable, feels like the staff there are happy and well led. The breakfast is super tasty and best of all served until 12 noon, which is great for a hangover!

Been in today was a bit disappointed the beer tasted off. We’ve just been for a pint in The white horse, which is another Joseph holt pub and the bear was good. We went into the friendship and the bear tasted off so we spoke to the Bar staff and they said nobody else has complained. We then decides of pie bits to see if that was any better. It was not so we came to the ostrich to get a proper pints of beer. I would avoid this place due to the fact that if had gone in any other pub and complained about the beer, they would’ve replaced it or tried a lot harder than this placed more interested in selling food than beer. Avoid avoid avoid

Good pub. Tasty Holts beers and worth it if you're dining in the restaurant or watching football/sports in the bar. Sound could have been louder for the game though. Now serving breakfast from 10am to 12pm Feb 2017: I used to call this the Un-Friendship because of their dowdy attitudes, but the staff are so much better now. Recommended.

It's ok order at the bar and pay first ' free parking just put your car plate number in at the bar ' I remember I waited a while for my food .

Well visiting with a friend for first time. Offer 20.99 starter and main plus drink. Staff lovely and very funny (china) pork belly bites and then chicken kebab which came with salad chips bread. This was good but oh my went to heaven and back with the belly pork. Best ever. Will we go back absolutely highly recommend. forgot they also take blue light

Food has gone really downhill in this place, I went a few weeks back food was terrible, I went back again last night for a family get together and the food was even worse. I would of never even gone there after last time, unless it was a family get together. This place needs to up it’s standards.

Great place to watch football and good pub grub

I stumbled upon this awesome pub/restaurant recently, and it was a total hit! The vibes were cozy, and the menu was a foodie's dream, each dish was delicious! What's got me buzzing is the news that they're rolling out a breakfast menu soon. How cool is that? I'm already planning my next visit to dive into their morning offerings (which i think is being introduced by the new managment who have recntly taken over) The staff was super chill and knew their stuff. It's clear they care about customer service and will go above and beyond. If you're after a top-notch dining experience that's both laid-back and delicious, this place is a winner. Five stars and counting down the days till that breakfast menu launch!

We had our family Christmas dinner here today. The service was good, although had to wait a while for dessert but that suited us. The food was only ok, nothing outstanding. The roasties were from frozen. The yorkie was over done. Sprouts tasted like they’d been cooked from frozen. My husband was disgruntled we/he didn’t get a pig in blanket. There was a nice atmosphere in the pub, busy but not too busy.

Nice place good overall experience

Went out for a Christmas party with my crocheting group. Got asked if we wanted to sit in a bit of a quieter area. Only later to find out it was where the quiz was going to be. It turned out to be an even better night.

Been eating here for years but it's just the same old, same old now. Food is uninspiring and the menu just seems to be tired. Maybe it's me....and I have been spoiled recently at other places, but good food is good food wherever you eat......just not in the Friendship nowadays.

This place has really friendly staff I love coming to this pub and friends I bring always say the same. But 24th Nov the chef I have to appaulde. Apart from his absolutely wonderful food his face to face customer service such a pleasant and refreshing thing to see how he prides his food and aims to please customers. Food was ok but X2 courses + free drink is a bargain at just over £20.

Have been meaning to write a review for the Friendship Inn for a while now as visited the pub on 6th of August (bit of a celebration meal as it was 2 days before my 50th birthday). We were there on a Sunday and can absolutely say without reservation that the meal was one of the best we have had, so much so that we were planning to return again to try more items on the menu, however, my partner fell ill and ended up with an extended stay in hospital in the last couple of months. Fast forward to today and I open up a letter to find I have £170 car parking charge, no original letter received informing me of this and now as it has been passed to debt recovery, I have no chance of an appeal. There is a sign in the car park stating for patrons only so we assumed we were ok to park there, at no point did we see any signage stating you have to register your vehicle registration inside the building and after reading the other reviews and the response from the pub stating there is an iPad on the far side of the bar and that staff should inform you but can forget if it is busy is ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE! There is a table right inside the door that has Christmas booking information on it - why is there no large sign there so people see it as they come in if your staff are going to “forget” maybe I should just “forget” to pay the fine, convenient isn’t it? NOT AN EXCUSE THAT SHOULD BE USED TO COVER UP APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. As for the IPad, if so many people are being affected by this then you need to move it to the side of the bar nearest the door and have a sign placed above it stating something like “Parking? Register your vehicle here” how difficult would that be to do? This whole horrendous morning has completely sullied, what was a wonderful meal and memory, but has also soured my experience of The Friendship Inn, so much so, that I and my family will not be entering this establishment again and I will be sharing this review all over social media, there are so many more places to eat in Prestwich - do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else that doesn’t have such a pricey sting in the tail.

Called in for a couple of pints (two hoots). Beer lively so said I would come back, on the way back beer being topped up with bitter instead. Use to visit regular for food, had a bad meal last time, so thought we would try again. Wont be back.

Popped in for Sunday lunch I was NOT disappointed. Had Sunday roast the food in here is on another level, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place.

A very pleasant pub but remarkably pricey, and they could clean up the outdoor area more often lol Incidentally, this alcohol free Old Mout cost me £5.65 (quite ridiculous for what’s essentially just apple juice associated with an alcoholic brand, let’s be honest)

Complete parking scam here - slapped with a £170 parking fine despite being a paying customer. They mention that there is clear signage and that the staff tell you on arrival but this was not the case at all and we were never told. Avoid this pub.

Experienced the same parking fine as other reviews. I appealed it as I could prove I ate in the pub but still received a debt collectors letter. It’s a shame as I enjoyed the food but this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will never return and tell anyone that will listen the same. Disgusting.

Disgraceful car parking system. £60 fine received for parking in the pub carpark even though I was a paying customer. Have since learnt from the many other reviews on here that you have to register your car on an iPad inside the pub. Apparently staff inform customers but no one informed our group. Probably missed some v. small print on a sign. Won't be returning. What a sly way to make money out of decent paying customers.

Arrived at this pub with my mother, arrived from USA and ate at this restaurant, food was ok.. 3 months later get a parking fine for using THEIR car park and THEIR food inside THEIR restaurant. What an absolute rip off getting a ticket, no mention of anything inside about registering the rental car. I've been all around the world and never seen this rip off crap before, you lost my future business.

We just travelled up from Gloucestershire for a weekend in Manchester and stopped in here for a quick drink prior to checking in elsewhere, now 6 months down the line received debt collectors letter as we parked there for an hour? Having read other reviews this clearly an ongoing issue for this pub with the parking so, if you're taking your car I would avoid just incase you too get hit for a 170 quid fine

I totally agree with the comments below I was so annoyed to find an aggressive letter requesting payment for a fine, this is totally unacceptable and not the way to treat customers. the meal was also not up to much so my advice is just don't go there are a lot of other places who will value your custom

After taking family members for a meal was issued with a fine. It was a sit down meal with drinks which I paid by card (proof). As I have visited here for over 20years and did not see any signage outside or in, no member of staff mentioned a new change in parking restrictions/procedures I thought this would easily be overturned with an appeal (afterall I had the proof.) I called the restaurant to which a young lady told me that you have to input your registration on a tablet, When I said I never seen one she told me it is on the other side of the bar from the entrance (where no one can even see it) I raised an appeal after all I had the proof and I drove by the car park and did see some small limited signage that could easily have been covered by another vehicle, not adequate by any standard. There was no response from the appeal after saying I would receive one by email. Now I open a letter for a £170 fine from a debt collection agency. This is my mothers favourite place in Prestwich that i used to take her, obviously I will now be taking her elsewhere (and informing everyone else to do the same). It feels like a trap after years of going there. The least they could do was a big sign on entrance to say parking restrictions had changed. Why would anyone expect them to have changed after so many years and then almost try to trick people.

I had the the grilled chicken, cheese and avocado toastie/ sandwich. It was absolutely beautiful! Waiting on my fudge cake.

Walked in looking for food and found it with friendly, helpful staff despite it being busy due to match day. Bouncers on the doir and 2 coaches of away fans but no trouble. We were welcomed in and thanked on the way out , thats what I call a proper pub!. Food highly recommend the hanging skewer chicken and lamb kofta kebabs and hubbie added extra to his beef burger and was happy! I would go back if in the area again.

Visited some time ago en-route to a wedding to find some 5 weeks later that there is a need to register your vehicle in the car park to which there is NO signage to note that would prompt you to register for when you call...

We have been going to pub for over 10 years and they are very good. They have always responded well if we have had any issues. Beware that you need to put registration number in in arrival. We always do but have got a penalty...
