Traditional well run privately owned cafe, lovely bacon buttie a coffee and a catch up, fantastic value and a great menu choice. Well done Jackie and team. Will definitely return and support local business.

First time I have ever been as usually get a jacket potato from the chip shop near work thought going to a cafe it may be better standard a spoon of tune for a whole jacket potato and a small layer of cheese are half the potato and nothing left for the rest was cold after waiting over 10 mins

Been calling in here on and off for years. Called in the other day and had tea and toasted teacake. Well I know in the past the teacakes were a lot bigger than the one I had. It was also very well done , perhaps forgotten on the toaster. Why is everything getting smaller ! The spread tasted like margarine and not butter too! Even the humble teacake is getting smaller . There is no hope in these post Covid days. Other than that, the staff were lovely and the pricing is good. Thank you.

When people say "greasy spoon", it may sound like an insult to any visitor to our island, but we we mean it more as a term of endearment... a positive categorization all good Englishmen and women understand and appreciate. We mean a independently run cafe that does tasty comfort food well, quickly, with a smile and always within a relaxed atmosphere. This cafe is the perfect example of a good old English greasey spoon. The lady at the pans was quick, kind and on the ball. The Gentlment on the drinks was charming and efficient. If you're a lover, like I am, of a tradition English cafe, a quentisential "greasy spoon" , then this is the one to visit when you're in Bury. Bury itself is quite a nice town, and I'd recommend half a day there if you're in the area. A whole day if you ride the old railway, which is worth it! Start or take lunch at this cafe nonetheless.

Great place ' always a veriety of great entertainment throughout the year .

Typical english cafe, the couple that run it are nice people and the service and food good. We’re always there early, before the market opens, so it’s not usually too busy. I couldn’t say if it gets busier later, although I hope it does. If you don’t use it you lose it.

Now call here weekly because of the food, service and welcoming staff.First off i see a lot of regular people coming in here so thats a good sign.Second, seems to be getting more busy each week.Third the food, pies are all home made excellent, cakes all home made and to die for.Also change the specials regularly.Prices very reasonable and would be a pity if you missed this one.Fourth staff, always greeted with a smile and couldnt be more helpful.Try it you will be back.

Lovely staff, very reasonable price

A small cafe with a wide variety of breakfast and dinner time meal options. I myself decided upon the healthy option as a breakfast choice and was a little disappointed the tomatoes came sliced which didn't look very appealing and the scrambled eggs were very runny with butter. Overall an okay experience but won't rush back. They only accept cash and couldn't see any toilets or signs pointing to them

We like to use local cafes rather than big commercial outfits for lunch. we find the food is nicer and customer service is more down to earth. we were so disappointed I can't express it enough. rude ignorant staff and food which doesn't match up to its price tag. when ordering our food they didn't once look at us and when bringing the food over I asked if they had ketchup. she pointed at it on the counter and walked past it. if I hadn't already payed I'd have walked out. will not go again.

Good food with friendly staff great value

Took my grandma out for the day who’s practically house bound. She wanted to come here as she used to do so with her friend. It was fairly empty so was good to get her wheelchair in. As we put the brakes on to get her out into a chair we were rudely told to move from the aisle. We also had a pram which we tried to move as best possible. It’s a very small shop with no spare corners - perhaps something to consider? Or at least help your customers by telling them where they can place pranks/wheelchairs rather than just be rude about it. While we were there there was another wheelchair and 2 more prams come in and out so it appears to be something worth looking at. One lady in particular was very rude - she brought the wrong meal and when we told her she didn’t even apologise. She also brought us a wrong drink but by this point we just accepted it and bought another as couldn’t be bothered with her attitude. She was the same with all customers. One other member of staff was very friendly and helpful, making a lot of effort with everyone. Shame 1 rude person lets a place down. The food was good! We won’t be coming back though unfortunately - we felt like she didn’t want us there that’s for sure

Decided to go to cup 'o' Rosie today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Walked inside and found a table for 2. Was not sure if it was table service or anything like that so asked a member of staff who assisted me in a pleasant manner. It's counter service, so ordered mine and my husbands lunch and including drinks pretty cheap. Will be going again however don't know when!

We found this place whilst out shopping and since that first time make it a deffo stop off whenever we can make it on a Saturday morning, good wholesome breakfasts, and take a couple of home made pies away with you, nice pleasant staff.

a big breakfast for a reasonable price, lovely place and the staff were very pleasant. The food was excellent, when they say big breakfast thats what you got.

This is a so called cafe but with no toilet facilties. They refused a 6yr old child access to a toilet even though I had paid £10 in advance for 2 lunches and drinks and that included a tip !!! The owner announced (quite aggressively) that she didn't have to provide one. A very expensive first visit to Bury because we had to leave everything and find some toilet facilities and then buy some more lunch. I should have gone to Mcdonalds instead of trying to support a local business. At the very least they should advertise that they don't have any facilities oh but that would put people off. Probably explains why the place was empy at 12 15. DO NOT GO THERE !!!!

Been here 3 times. First 2 great... third: way below standard. 1 small, 1 large breakfast and omelette and drink each £16. Eggs (all 3) ruined, dry with a discoloured plasticy overfried base, and bacon with all moisture and flavour burnt out to be approaching inedible. An apology accompanied by justification that it was the bacon's fault?! Everyone else around us got a decent meal, so not incapable... just a lottery.

After wandering around Bury market , my husband and I went looking for somewhere to eat as all the cafes in the market were full. We came across this lovely little cafe and gave it a try. Best decision we'd made that day. The atmosphere was so welcoming. The staff so friendly and the food was lovely. My husband had the gammon and he was really impressed. Well worth a visit!

Me and my partner visited Bury and market and were looking somewhere for a nice meal at a reasonable price. We went in this nice looking cafe and ordered cod, chips, and peas 2 meals for £10. when it arrived at the table we were disappointed that the fish was not cod just a really cheap fish. I read in the paper that if a café advertised cod that what you should get, just as it was a cheap meal you should still get what you pay for. wont be going back there again.

Breakfasts are gorgeous nice friendly customer service and great prices difficult parking close by but recommend to all

Called in by chance on a dreary wet day. Can only comment on the fantastic breakfast and what a charming and welcoming atmosphere. The girls serving could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Pot of tea was proper tea and plenty of it. Would not hesitate to recommend. Well done girls great little café!

My wife and I have only recently 'found' this cafe, but it has become a favourite stopping place when we visit Bury.The menu is rather limited, and caters for plain tastes rather than anything exotic. They do an excellent traditional breakfast, and are happy to vary the items to suit your taste. A regular 'special' is hotpot, which is absolutely first-class of its kind, and reminiscent of meals my mother used to make. They also offer excellent home made pies.Prices are extremely reasonable and the service is warm and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. There is a 10% discount for over 60s on certain days, while on other days you can have two main meals for £10 - however in many cases two of their main meals don't come to that!

Nice, clean cafe. Friendly staff. Bacon muffins were freshly cooked to order. Only complaint was butter on the muffin making a bit too greasy for us
