Stables Country Club in Bury

It's an excellent place. However one thing lets the place down very badly for people with disabilities. There are no lifts of any kind to go upstairs. Me and my friend struggled going up and back down.

Not cheap,but nothing is these days but very clean , good service well staffed

Myself and my new wife Rebecca got married in the Horseshoe Barn at the Stables Country Club on Sunday and it was absolutely incredible. Sophie was our main contact from booking until a couple of weeks before. She was brilliant and also responded to all emails so quickly and was happy to meet at the venue with us multiple times. All of the staff on the day were fantastic and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. The grounds were gorgeous for pictures, despite terrible weather! We had so many compliments from guests on the venue, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's currently looking at venue options!

Worked at this venue a few times as a Wedding Photographer. Well kept, lovely food, professional and friendly staff.

Thank all staff for the excellent venue, service and funeral buffet served. Food top quality. Everything was served on time, plenty of tea, coffee and the bar was open. Could't of choose a better place. Price excellent for the quality. Paid extra for chips and cakes well worth it.

The way they moved things around with the room for different parts of the day was brilliant, and we received many comments how beautiful it was! In regards to the staff, we dealt with Sophie from the start who made everything very simple and was always a call/email away for any questions. Abi then managed things from the week of the wedding and that's when you start to realised they have a team of staff behind them to make your day go smoothly. Abi was brilliant and put us at ease with any worries, so much so that on the day itself it felt like she was a guest of ours just wanting to enjoy the day with us! They also work well with any other suppliers to make sure everything comes together on the day. Thank you so much for everything, our day was everything we imagined and more!! Mr & Mrs Bond

Went to a wedding at this location. Bar ran out of draught beer very early. Closed the bar between the breakfast and the night reception so had to walk to best western for a drink. Didn’t open the bar for 30mins after the wedding, everybody had to stand around drinkless. Never known anything like it at a wedding

A nice gym with great facilities. Could do with a few more clips for barbells and a properly inforced weight re-racking policy. The racks for the weights aren't labelled so people do tend to just chuck the weights back whereever. Also, finding a pair of any dumbbells can be tricky as they are not in any order.

Drinks were very expensive, and the barstaff were all newbies and didn't have a clue what they were doing. For a wedding I think it was a bit of joke.

Me and my now husband had our wedding in the horseshoe room here on sat and I can’t thank the staff enough for everything they did to ensure we had an amazing day. From Sophie who stayed in contact throughout the planning process, ensuring an overwhelmed bride didn’t got too stressed, answering questions no matter how many times I asked them and just being supportive overall. To Abi who coordinated our day and made an emotional day just that little bit easier to cope with, even stepping in to speak for me when it all got a bit too much, and just making sure the day moved as smooth as possible, making sure my wishes were followed. To all the staff that played their part in the day. Thank you so so much to all of you and I would deffo recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. Xxx

What a fantastic venue to celebrate our wedding. Abbie and her team were amazing from the start to finish. From our initial enquiry to the big day itself they could not do enough for us. They really did help make it a wonderful day to remember for everyone.

Had our wedding here in Horseshoe Barn on 31st May, can't thank the whole team enough. From the first viewing of the rooms, to booking and to making my dream wedding come to life, the team has been amazing! The room looked stunning and the food and service was fab!

Really enjoy coming here compared to other gyms I've used in the past. this place is brilliant it's got everything gym, swimming pools , sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool and whirlpools.staff and members all friendly

What a lovely place to host my 60th birthday at. The suite is beautifully furnished that I did not need to spend a lot on the deco. My guests were very happy. The staff were nice and helpful.

Went here for a 50th birthday, it was really quite nice and rustic in appearance. Not a fantastic selection of beers but just about enough to find something you could live with

Staff were lovely and afternoon tea was amazing. Just a shame so.e of the Spa facilities were shut for refurbishment.

I'm new to visiting the stables and I've seriously been missing out!! It's got great facilities and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. I'd recommend here all day long! They have so many different facilities to do, from swimming to yoga, they've something for everyone here and set in lovely grounds too. You won't be disappointed!

We visited today with friends to use the recently refurbished spa facilities. So impressed! Spotlessly clean, good choice of saunas, pools, jacuzzi’s etc. The most noticeable ‘wow’ was the access to all facilities:pool steps, handrails, seating, changing areas and non slip flooring. A missed opportunity we thought was not having a bar/food available following our session. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Good place but reducing the closing hours on Fri, sat and sun put me off as that’s the only time I can train.

I have been a member of Stables gym for approximately 20 years and I have watched as the gym has gone from strength to strength over this time period. One of the reasons for my continued patronage is the staff. They are a friendly bunch with quite a few being in post for number of years. Added to that are the superb classes that occur daily. You don’t get many places that can boast that some of the instructors have been in-situ for 13 years plus and still have full classes with waiting lists!! The latest renovations in the gym are spectacular and have even encouraged me to renew exercise on the new equipment. Overall, for me personally, there isn’t another gym that exudes the friendship combined with excellent facilities that can be found at The Stables.

Attended wedding. Not well signposted for the entrance. Needs more lights very dark . Nice wedding venue, well decorated for the occasion. Parking a little distant from entrance to venue.

I have been going to the Gym now for over 3 years, I use all the facilities on a regular basis, the gym, morning classes, evening classes, swimming, sauna, cold plunge pool and jacuzzi . Today was the opening of the new modern gym, the equipment is amazing and will suit all ages and abilities. It is very clean and the staff are always approachable and friendly. A great place to work out and relax ! (very important too) I will be there again tomorrow at 6.30am. Looking forward to the NEW YEAR now. I may even get a Personal Trainer booked in!

Attended an absolutely amazing christmas event at The Stables restaurant. The food was amazing, the vegetarian main course was so beautiful, tasty, all the vegetables were fresh, food was piping hot. The entertainment was brilliant, DJ played fantastic music. Boomin bingo amazing. Lovely plavlce, beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff.

It is the staff that makes this place stand out. The venues for parties are great (because Ibhad the chance to peek around when we got lost) we were invited for an 18th birthday party, and one of my god-daughter had an “emergency”, all the staff were so helpful and accommodating.. The only struggle I had was walking in the dark (from the reception to the 2min walk venue) on the cobblestones with a 3in heels on.

Great space, clean modern and not too busy. Can't afford it tho!

Had the most amazing afternoon tea. Lovely sandwiches, quiche sausage rolls cakes and scones. Before had full access to the pools and other facilities. Highly recommend for the money it was well worth it

I organised a Charity Ball in the Hayloft Suite. On the month's running up to the event, Sophie from the Events Team was there to guide, advise and help me with anything I needed. The day before the event I went in to set up the room. Again Kensy and her team gave me all the help I needed, made some suggestions and plied me with coffee to keep me going. On the evening of the event, the food was superb! All the guests commented on how they enjoyed it! And the bar/waitress staff were great. All in all, brilliant service from all departments that made the event an amazing success and a lot of people (especially me!) very happy! Even when I went the next day to dismantle and collect my displays, the lovely cleaner appeared with coffee! What more could you ask for?? Certainly be using this venue again. Thank you Maria xx

We had our wedding here a few days ago all I can say is 10/10 Sophie couldn’t be more helpful if she tried was outstanding, very accommodating to all our needs, great communication, always got back to me, amazing place for a wedding of function, very competitive and good value ! A lovely afternoon tea and swim good value for money

Attended my Sons wedding this weekend. Found the stage to be very professional but not stuffy. They could not do enough for you or the bride and groom. The coordinator was attentive and very well organised. All round they made a great event into a better event.

Booked swim & afternoon tea. On arrival thought the reception area looked shabby & thought it wasnt going to be a great experience. How wrong was I. Changing rooms were clean, pool, jacuzzi & steam room were amazing & the afternoon tea was lovely. Staff were excellent. Really good value for money, will def be back.

My bestie purchased this swim and afternoon tea as a trest for my birthdsy. From the moment we got there the staff looked after you. Carolyn was great and showed us to our lockers and ran through the anenities available. After 2 hours of swim, sauna,steam room and jacuzzi it was time for our Afternoon tea. As it was sunny we opted for outside and was served by the lovely Abbie, food was delicious and copius amounts of tea was drank. We enjoyed it so much we rebooked for October as out treat time.

My friends and I had a fabulous time today- we used the swimming pool, jacuzzis steam and sauna rooms. Its was a great day out and very relaxing. Afterwards we had the afternoon tea which was exceptional and very good value for money too. All homemade and cooked on site- definitely recommend this- we were very well looked after by Abigail and the team. Thankyou for a wonderful time and great service!

Booked the 2hour access to the spa and afternoon tea deal and it was great. The facilities were all clean, the pool, jacuzzi etc are clean. The afternoon tea was lovely - just the right mix of sweet & savoury! Booked again to go back in November with my daughter

Our son's wedding on August 5th was just perfect. Sophie made the planning stress free and the recommendations of Party Essence and Dave the DJ just added up to a wonderful day. Kenzi and her team made sure everything ran like clockwork on the day. Thank you from all the family.

Booked the offer for use of the spa and afternoon tea for two. Really enjoyed the spa facilities. Lovely warm water to swim in with a choice of two pools, saunas, steam room, plunge pool, jacuzzi and hot tubs. Great changing room with everything you need eg big lockers/cubicles spinner and hair dryers. Lovely and clean. Lovely friendly staff . Disappointed with the afternoon tea 🍵. One of the cakes was stodgy and couldn't eat the scone, funny inside like it had been frozen and was wet? I did tell the waitress who said she would pass info onto the chief, didn't get any feed back. It spoiled the whole experience and put me off booking a return visit. 😒

We got married here on 10.06.2023. From the moment we chose the venue in July 2022 Sophie and her team have been helpful and nothing has been too much trouble, even with all the complicated dietary needs of the guests! Sophie kept us informed without being intrusive and was always available for even the smallest of questions. Kenzie as our Master of Ceremonies and her team on the day were brilliant, she knew exactly what we needed even before we did at times (notably handing me a cold glass of water when I arrived before the ceremony, very welcome on a very hot day!) and the team slipped in and served, moved tables and got things set up seamlessly without interrupting the flow of the day. The food was gorgeous and generous portions too. The venue was stunning and the perfect setting for our perfect day.

Beautiful wedding venue and stunning grounds. Beautifully decorated and structured. Although hard to find the entrance to the venue entrance to park not many signs and poorly lit. Had a barn like feel and lovely table settings

Tired venue and shambolic service

Was attending a Business Expo at The Stables. It looked extremely poorly attended and exhibitors seemed not too amused and were folding up after 1.30pm being an hour and a half earlier than planned! I don't think Stables was the right venue for this business event as it's rather a remote location. It needed to be more central.

We used the Stables as the venue for our Wedding. We received excellent service throughout the build up and planning to the day itself. We used the Horseshoe suite which was ideal for our 50 day time guests for the ceremony and Wedding breakfast. We then opened it up for the evening when another 30 guest joined us. The Staff were brilliant throughout and the food quality didn't disappoint us. Very good meal followed by Bacon and Sausage butty spread in the evening. Our wedding host, Makenzie, stood out. One of our guest fell ill and she handled the situation with professionalism and care, helping us to continue to enjoy our wedding. She also followed up with us to check on our guest. Very impressed with the venue and the team. High recommend

One of my favourite places to go, staff really good and take a general care about you, I use the pool mostly but the gym is well stocked and everything you need is there, I have been s member for a long time and will for many more years thank you your the best

Don’t expect them to care about your wedding/event once thy have your money.

It was my first time here today. I have visited a few local gyms to see which would better suit me as i am disabled. The front of house staff where wonderful, took me on a full tour, answered every question and even printed me out a timetable. Looking forward to my first try here.
