The Four Seasons Restaurant in Scarborough

Unfortunately, I had some of the worst food of my life here. I ordered delivery of a pizza to my apartment, and what arrived was like someone had put a cheap supermarket pizza in the oven, and left it in for 15 minutes too long. The base was covered in thick black burning marks, and the toppings were almost virtually non-existent apart from burned tomato sauce, and the cheese was completely brown where it burned. I paid extra money to add mushrooms to the pizza but there were absolutely no mushrooms added, however, I was still charged for them. I was shocked this was served to a customer despite clearly being so far below standards. The pizza looked horrific, but I took a bite of it anyway and it was as hard as a brick. It was completely tasteless apart from the taste of burned food and oil. I’m not one to waste food but this went straight in the bin as it was inedible and truly rancid. I’ve only ever had food worthy of 1* twice in my life and this was one of them, but I’d rate it zero if I could as the experience was truly awful. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for pizza.

Visited for the first time, absolutely fantastic service and food. To start, my wife has griddled halloumi and I had Turkish sausage, both were delicious. Mains, my wife had Turkish chicken casserole and I had Turkish mixed grill which was absolutely amazing. Couldn't fault anything, will be Visiting again when we're next in Whitby

Had a lovely meal here Friday 17/01/2025 . Four of us had the fish chips and mushy peas . The batter was so light and the fish was really white thick and flavoursome. We had a very warm welcome and the service was impeccable. The staff are extremely friendly . The place its self was spotless and fresh inside . Overall a wonderful experience. Great food great hospitality and very reasonably priced . Would definitely recommend and revisit .

Very good pizza really liked it

4 of us ate here this evening and the food was lovely. We've been coming to Whitby for years but for whatever reason, didn't know that this place was dog friendly! We ate at 6pm, the service was really friendly and the food came out together and we all enjoyed it. The portions were really fairly sized, in fact we couldn't finish it all. We had chicken parmesan, fish pizza and mixed grill. There was decent room between the tables so our dog didn't disturb anyone else, great evening thank you.

Lovely menu, friendly service and delicious food. Had smoked aubergine and humous starters with home made turkish bread (fab). This was followed by lamb kebab and meatballs, both cooked on grill (delicious). Bit pricey but a really good experience.

Stay here for 2 nights over xmas lovely place warm cosy and very clean. Woyld stop again at christmas if price was right

Came for a birthday meal with my partner , the service and the meal we had were brilliant. I had the houmous for starter , a generous portion and lots of flavour. My main was the meatballs which were delicious and full of flavour with brilliant homemade chips and salad. Overall I would thoroughly recommend, I can't believe they were so quiet , but it is a Monday .

Ordered a starter and a main, both absolutely beautiful. If I had room for dessert, I would have happily indulged. With food this nice I'd be expecting to be queuing at the door.

I have to say the staff were friendly and welcoming however the food was horrible I had mushrooms to start and 2 of us had chicken and in all honesty it stank rank and I was ill the next day i cannot recommend!!

We got fish and chips which was top quality less than half the price of the well known one that is named after a certain bird, Uural was very friendly and we got some proper Turkish delight. The other well known for fish and chips when we went there it all seemed a bit rush rush. In the four seasons which we will definitely be using when we go to Whitby we found it so much more relaxed a solid Ten out of Ten from us.

I am so sorry we can't give it less than one star..... 1. Table was sticky and dirty. 2. Lasagna tastes worse than the ones bought in cheap supermarkets. 3. Even though I did not eat much of it the waiter did not ask if there was anything wrong. I did let him know. 4. Two draught beers, but none were. available. 5. The bottle of peroni beer which I half drank had a sell by date of 3/2024, which means it was 7 months out of date. The waiter just took it away with no apology. 6. Chips tasted as if they were cooked in old oil. 7. No reduction on the bill, no apology for anything, they were not interested.

Lovely fresh food, good service

Came here on a busy Saturday night, - we had booked a couple of hours before. Had the special offer of two nicely cooked tender large sirloin steaks with chips , salad and mushrooms and a bottle of, very good, house Merlot, all of £60 for two. Excellent!

Ordered online and after an hour wait enquired where our food was, the man on the phone could barely speak English just kept repeating "you want to order?" and passed the phone to his colleague who again only spoke broken English and eventually said our order was on the way but again couldn't find the house so my husband had to go out in the rain to retrieve the order, gets it in the house. Wrong order! Went to the restaurant after all this told them what happened asked them to replace the order and to refund us for the inconvenience as I'm 8 months pregnant with gestational diabetes and need to eat. It became apparent none of them could speak fluent English or follow simple instructions as they gave me a cash refund and also on the card we paid on then had the the cheek to come knocking on our door 5 minutes after to get the cash back! They found the place quickly enough then and knew how much they were owed! Wouldn't replace the food played on they couldn't speak proper English! Absolute disgrace of an establishment! I'd avoid it at all cost! Having to edit as you can't reply on Google reviews but since the owner is saying he tried to contact us regarding our order that simply isn't true they only time there was communication via the phone from the restaurant was when I had a missed call when they tried to get the cash refund back they gave us and I declined the call at the time not knowing they refunded the card at the time other than that it was us as a consumer trying to contact them. I'm a professional chef and worked in hospitality for many years so I know a sham of an establishment when I see one and this place was certainly it. Also I am the pregnant lady that came to the restaurant telling you to fix the order. Just because I had a big coat on hiding my bump doesn't mean I wasn't pregnant. Idiots!

Visiting Whitby over the weekend and found the Four Seasons on Sunday evening who accomadated us even though we hadn't booked. Cosy window seat with nice ambience. We had prawns to start,lamb chops and chicken with rice for mains. All food was very good and service was excellent. Will definitely revisit on our next Whitby trip. Thanks Guys.

Never have the chicken or don't have enough might aswell take it off the menu one of the only things whitby dosent do is fried chicken so excited when it had it in the menu had it once when first opened then never again don't have it only have wings and aloud of other bs

Tasty food, good varied menu , enjoy the atmosphere, eat late unlike some places in Whitby. Eating here for years. Love the lamb. Love the mezzes. Bloody great.

Cracking little find and very reasonably priced. Table for 6 and everything arrive piping hot and on time. Brilliant 👏

Loved our meal. The food and service were brilliant. .we had the sirloin steak which was not only a very large sirloin. It was tasty, cooked perfectly and so tender it melted in my mouth. The staff are really friendly and the restaurant was spotless with a nice atmosphere. Will be going back to dine again next time we are in Whitby.

Very disappointed. Had heard good things about his place and it didn't live up to expectations. Lunch time menu very limited. No starters no deserts. Frozen pizza bases and the skewed lamb which was terrible. Won't be back

Rubbish service, waited over an hour for basic food, just not ready after lockdown

Food was fantastic. The staff were amazing. Their fish and chips takes some beating. I didn't think the best fish and chips id ever have would come from a turkish restaurant, but it has. Pizzas were lovely, they were friendly with the kids, 6 very happy and full customers!

Food was nice, however the House wine leaves a lot to be desired. The Shiraz was very cloudy towards the lower half of the bottle, not drinkable...when questioned I was told by a member of staff that is how a Shiraz is, really unhelpful and itemised bill at the end leaves a lot to be desired...be careful

We were there because of a lack of alternatives and were also happy to have gotten a place late in the evening. The starter (fried mushrooms) was really delicious. The main courses, vegetarian pizza and steak burgers, more like that. The burger was just a piece of meat in a bun, without sauce, cheese, salad, vegetables... Plus a salad without dressing. The pizza seemed a bit bland and tasteless. All in all just mediocre, for a price that is not at all low. However, the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Nice pizza, but terrible house wine. If you are going to charge £8 a glass, at least pay that much or more for the bottle!

Had take out fish and chips on our first night in whitby & they were excellent, the staff were friendly & the place was clean, reasonable prices. Would definatly go back.

Went as a party of 9 for a birthday celebration, we chose this restaurant as such a varied selection on the menu. Our group ordered salmon, sea bass, prawns, chicken parmesan, all dishes were delicious and well presented. The service was excellent, staff very attentive and efficient. The food & drinks were very reasonably priced. We found it excellent value for the quality of food and the fantastic service. Would highly recommend.

I thought my girlfriend and her mum here and we all had Haddock and chips, it was absolutely beautiful and would love to come here again

Service was good but food was disappointing lacked flavour . Chicken casserole was really poor flavour wise and chicken parmesan was not restaurant standard.

Food delish friendly no rushing all nice evening

Zero customer service . Confused our drinks order, even though there was only 8 customers in the restaurant. The waiter kept bumping my chair, 3 times to be precise. Food was ok but served on a sticky table, didn't ask... did we need additional sauces etc. The two men waiters proped the bar up all evening on mobile phones , totally uninterested with the customers. Spend you're money elsewhere, avoid this place like the plague. 🤬

I had the large haddock, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter with coffee. The fish was superb…I’ve had a lot of fish suppers and this was at the top of the league! Lovely batter too. The coffee was nice too. Gents toilet was clean. Modern airblade drier too!

Visited on a weds evening with my partner, was quiet only another couple in but soon filled up. My partner had halloumi for starters, mains I had the chicken casserole and partner had the chicken and ham parmesan. Both tasty, loved the casserole was very garlicky! We noticed the salad on the meals were just lacking maybe a finishing touch of dressing maybe?

Very friendly attentive staff who gave a good service the food lacked flavour in our view - the wine was alright.

Food was very tasty, place was kept clean, clean toilets despite being short-handed. Reasonable price.

My wife and l dined here recently and the food was amazing. Lamb skewers and mixed grill were beautiful. Vural and his staff were ever so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend a visit .

Placed a large take away order, all three pizzas were really poor with no flavour, one was even inedible as it was burnt (see attached). Such a shame as I went back there after a much better experience last year when I visited.

The chicken casserole was delicious but everyone enjoyed their choice too

Dined here with my family and pet Jack Russell twice today. Lunch was delicious so we were lured back to try the evening menu. Food is cooked perfectly and even the side portions are tasty and given care when preparing. Service is polite and efficient. Tables are very comfortable to sit at and we felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted. Pity this place is in Whitby and not near my home town or we would be dining here every week. I’d love to just work my way through their menu. Lots of choice. Highly recommend.

Rude staff. The owner seemed to be angry that we wanted coffee only and no food, while we had asked one of them if they would serve coffee/dessert before we entered, and he said yes. We all went for cappuccinos anyway, which tasted like anything but cappuccino...

Awful food and poor service. Better places to eat. Food overpriced and poor quality.

Not impressed place was not full. Waited ages for order to be taken I had to ask for someone to take it. Tea came with a teabag floating had to ask for milk. Nearly 40 mins scampi arrives soggy chips and dead salad. 2 ladies came in and were served in 10 mins. Surly service and no reaction when I said I didn't enjoy my food. Eating out is an expensive treat .

Not very dog friendly, despite the sign on the door. Both members of staff were clearly frightened of dogs, hence we were largely ignored, even though our labrador was fast asleep under the table, service took forever. Food was average apart from vegetarian which was poor, veggie bake consisted mainly of what appeared to be tinned green beans and was very greasy. Would not return.

The chicken wings were under cooked and this was pointed out to several staff members and was responded with a shrug of shoulders. The seating plan is too cramped and the door to the toilet caused a constant draft every time it was used. There was no hand soap in the ladies/disabled toilet and a child's high chair was stored in there.

All good. Nice pizza but not typical Italian one, more British than Italian 🍕😜😃 but still nice one.

We work in a small supported living home and had a day out in Whitby with 3 of our service users. We were looking for a place that was relatively quiet for lunch at around that didn’t have steps for the 2 wheelchairs we had with us. As we were passing this restaurant we noticed it was empty which would have been perfect for us and they had an accessible sign on the door. One of our members of staff went in to ask if they have tables for us, she said “we have 2 wheelchairs” and the staff member standing at the bar just said “no” no explanation or anything as to why they wouldn’t allow us in or what the issue was. Safe to say we wouldn’t attempt to go here again

Food average, abit on the steep side price wise. I agree with some other reviews, had better in places close by.

The Mixed Grill was excellent, good meat, nicely marinaded and cooked to perfection. I would definitely return next time I am in Whitby.

The food came too quickly for it to have been cooked fresh. It was dry, tasteless and not as advertised. Definitely wouldn't return.

My sister and I visited here, and had a chance to taste halal Turkish cuisine. It was delicious and nice. They were very welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend here to anyone looking for Turkish cuisine in Whitby :)

After waiting 15 minutes we asked for a drink, we were then asked to move tables to accommodate a group of 6, we were happy to move away from the door, but were seated outside the door to the toilet. The young couple opposite, with 2 big dogs were arguing throughout our entire meal, shouting and swearing at each other. Others diners heard the whole thing yet no staff members approached them. It got so heated the guy left and the girl sat sobbing, and still no staff came over. She then left after cancelling the main meal, leaving her husband's bag as no payment was made. (Did he collect it?) The food was very nice but a very uncomfortable evening and we could not wait to leave.

The food is freshly prepared to order and is beautiful done. The staff are polite and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent meal. We both had sea bass which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service was friendly and professional and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We will be back.

A terrible dinner for me and my partner. The chicken had a lot of oil and smelled as if it was old. The lamb meat balls were barely warm had and had a rather strong smell. Clearly microwaved. They were served in a bed of tasteless warm orange oil. The price we paid was not worth the food. Honestly the food tastes bad was not fresh and was overpriced. 1/5

First time that we had ordered, been on holiday to Whitby mini holiday and had a take away on the last night everything was hot and very delicious highly recommend will definitely be back on our next holiday.

We started with King prawns and garlic bread. Then I had Salmon with garlic potatoes and salad, my daughter had the vegetarian bake with rice. The food at The Four Seasons was delicious and service excellent.

Excellent food, excellent service, would definitely go back. Didn't wait too long for food even during their busy evening period. I think the owners are Turkish, as some of the Greek starters etc where Turkish equivalents. Still very tasty. Alcohol/drinks a bit pricey, but town centre Restaurants on Whitby Goth weekend one of their busiest, not surprised. Looking forward to going back.

We were in Whitby for a 2 night midweek break, we looked at most of the restaurants & pubs many of which had the generic menus The four seasons appealed to us as it looked like a family run place with a different menu of traditionally Mediterranean dishes We were not disappointed! It was scrummy, we had the Halloumi & mushrooms for starters but shared them both were freshly cooked & very tasty, especially the mushrooms in a garlic & tomato sauce for our main courses we had the lamb chops & mixed grill again cooked to perfection. The service was friendly & courteous. We had a fabulous time & would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good meal out away from the regular pub menus. Thank you 😊

Second time the four seasons have managed to squeeze us in last min. I can’t thank the staff enough. Absolutely amazing food. Will definitely get our act together and prebook to guarantee a seat next time we visit Whitby 5 ⭐️ all the way.

Been coming to Whitby for 10 years in a row, and have always walked past this restaurant, not giving it much thought….but not anymore. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals…lamb meatballs in tomato sauce, vegetable bake with rice and two sirloin steaks (steaks were enormous). The service was excellent as was the wine. Will definitely have it on our itinerary for next year.

Went with a party of 6. Starters a little slow coming out. My main not very good, chicken escalope with a cheese sauce on top, very sickly and made coating on chicken soggy. Sadly some of the dishes way way overpriced for what you get.

Asked for our order before giving us menu's. Then took ages to give us our food then I had to find them to get ask for a sweet menu, took her order had to call him back to take my order eventhough I was sitting in front of him

Tried to go in for lunch with our 2 young children at about 12 noon, but the guy behind the bar took one look at us and said they were closed, despite the fact the lights were on, the door was open, and the sign said they were open from 11am. Very disappointed - it felt as though they didn't want children in the restaurant. Wouldn't try to go back again and wouldn't recommend, not a very warm welcome!
