Popped in for a couple of drinks. Really enjoyed our drinks and nachos- nice heat and fresh salsa with them. Great service from Holly

On entering The Forth we had an incredibly upbeat and friendly welcome from Holly. The nachos with the beef short rib/brisket were delicious and the drinks as good as ever . Thanks Holly for making, it as always, a reason to return

Cracking pub with a fine selection of real ale. Outside terrace too. What's not to like.

The staff here are so lovely, couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely too, the vegan Buddha bowl was to die for, and their terrace is a great place to relax and escape from the city.

We went here yesterday after a 5 hour train journey to see my family and had been ordering drinks all evening. i went up to the bar with my brother and cousin and the bar lady refused service to both of them accusing them of doing drugs. saying that their jaws were singing which is absolutely untrue and quite a statement to make as they both have tics and even i grind my teeth with anxiety. then when my cousins dad came over he was all nice about it and said we can carry on drinking. very discriminate against young people

Lovely old fashioned pub. Great ambiance with good window seats where you can watch the world go by with a nice pint! Called in on a Monday night and pub quiz in full swing. Having called in at 3 pubs before here, it was pleasing to discover this was the cheapest of the night. Will certainly be calling in again

Easy to book a table online especially as it was match day. Ordered food and drinks from the qr code on the table and it was quick and easy. Also good service at the bar

Absolutely love this pub, especially on matchdays! The service is consistently great, and the staff are incredibly friendly. My only minor disappointment is the frequent menu changes. Recently, I ordered the chicken tenders expecting the usual generous portion. Unfortunately, the latest version fell short of expectations. Priced at £16, they resembled more like ordinary chicken nuggets, possibly from frozen. It's a shame as it used to be good value for money.

I caught the train up to Newcastle to see a friend, who had booked a table for 2 at the Forth for lunch. He had not been there before but it was close to the train station! The welcome was very friendly, our table had been set up for us, and the barmaid (Holly) couldn't have been more helpful. She chatted to us about the beers and showed us to our table. We both ordered burgers, and I have to say that mine (Boss 2) was the best burger I have EVER tasted. It may have been £16, but it was worth twice that! The atmosphere was great and the service was immaculate

A Newcastle institution! Always a top notch selection of beers, the menu of pub classics has always been brilliant and the staff are always super friendly. Great place to spend a few hours with your friends, or on your own watching the world go by.

Chicken tenders are easily the best I’ve had in Newcastle, crunchy but the chicken is really juicy and well cooked. Pickles and ranch are also delish

Fantastic place to host my girlfriend’s 21st birthday party. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly from start to finish, music good and drink selection vast. I was able to decorate the space as much as I wished with help from the lovely manager! Nothing was to much trouble and the atmosphere was excellent, can’t recommend this lovely pub enough for hosting an event

Went out with friends to watch the rugby. The place I'd booked let us down so we walked into the forth hoping to see it there. They found us a table quickly and we're so friendly. They had great knowledge about there beers and it was great to see such a large selection for a little pub. Will definitely go back. Didn't have food but what I saw looked good.

What happened to this place! Used to be a great boozer but now it’s a shadow of its former self. The foods average at best, the beers flat and the venues starting to smell and got flies, not pleasant. Still some nice staff but that can’t be said for all of them. I’m not sure who’s got it now but I hope it changes hands soon, the town wall and gunner tavern are blowing it out the water!

Been here a number of times and the food never disappoints! Tonight was no exception, especially the Poutine Fries!! 🤤 hats to the chefs Paul and Dev!

Didn't have food here but popped in for a few drinks. Food seemed reasonably priced and looked lush. Tom was really helpful, polite and friendly, and knew what he was doing and recommended the right pint to have.

6 nations 2024, England Vs France, good beer, good atmosphere.

A few beers with work colleagues as I was up in the area, and they know I like a good pub and good beer. This place didn't disappoint! I was saving myself for pizza a bit later, so we didn't eat, and I didn't see anyone else eating, so can't comment on that. I can, however, comment on the fine selection of ale available. A good range from pale to porter, and even a stout on keg. The staff were brilliant and eager to please. Seating is comfortably spaced so as to maximise capacity whilst not putting you on the lap of the person at the next table - important if you're wanting to eat! Nice large windows would provide some lovely sunshine and light during the day, I'm sure, but it's dark outside, so not doing much. Patrons were friendly and the atmosphere was quite happy, with music pumping out at a level that provides enough to blanket from hearing too much of other conversations, but not so loud you have to shout. Not bad tunes, either, if I recall correctly. Now normally I'd be concerned about the windows in a place like this from the perspective of zombie apocalypse, but the fact we're on something of a back road here provides a little security by being out of the way. Plus all those tables would probably be useful to bar up the entrances and give you a nice defensible bottleneck through the main doorway.

Shrimp po-boy was £15.50 - dry bread, defrosted breaded prawns, some floppy lettuce and spiced mayo with a few French fries. £4 for a small ramekin of supermarket style coleslaw. More of a rip-off than airport food. Disappointed.

We had our pre Christmas lunch at The Forth which proved to be a good choice. The food was plentiful and delicious. I can't fault it. With a good selection of beer and a cheery atmosphere, we had a marvellous afternoon.

Do yourself a favour and visit.

Service was spot on throughout. From booking, pre order, paying deposit (ringing back up to change the booking 🙄) Food was out prompt, tasty, hot and filling. Lovely night with friends in a warm lively atmosphere. Well done guys.

Avoid horrable food can't serve basic chips. Asked for plain chips and got chilli sauce on chips !! And refused to re-make . Avoid get in you in and can't provide proper customer service AVOID

Good bar, nice choices of pints with some guest ales and array of drinks. Has a terrace which is nice, just needs the lights to work/be turned on and it would be 5 star!

Great Sunday lunch, roast beef and the works .

Back on the map.. The Forth has a special place in my heart for personal reasons. Just started doing their much missed Sunday lunches again. I have to say " most excellent they are too"! Well worth a visit and don't forget the dog 😉
