Fish and chips for thirty people. Delivered on time, excellent service. Everyone enjoyed the food. Good vale for money. Will use again for future events

Quick service, everything cooked to order and boxed so the fish and chips remains crisp and hot. Good.

I am reviewing this again as since last time has been a change of management and the current bloke is obnoxious, abrupt and down right objectionable. - he could do with a bath too... Coupled with that is the poor quality of the frying; soggy and saturated in fat. Not cheap either. Do yourselves a favour and go down the road... Is a shame I have to select 1 star as it deserves none.

Big portions of chips and the jumbo cod was huge. The batter on the cod was disappointing as it wasn't that crispy.

Late back from a hard day decided to have fish & chips Tuesday 20.30 pm ordered 2 haddock and large chips £16 got home just up the hill 5 min. I know they close at 21.30 so no excuses for left over chips haddock was tasteless chips were like left from lunch and reheated?!! This place could be a gold mine but so inconsistent on quality I’ve tried them a few times now and you get the odd good tasty fish and fresh chips then it back to old standards pity. Young girls are very pleasant at the counter but need serious up graded in standards tonight’s meal was left as you see from picture very dissatisfied and disappointed will drive to Crowthore next time

Ordered kids meal - fish bites, chips and soft drink but not asked which drink and chips not provided. Curry sauce was a tub of congealed sludge and inedible. Not worth 10 minute drive back to complain. Will never go back.

My orginal review stating the service was bad and the chips soggy with grease, got removed. After a long drive we were passing and couldn't be asked to go to maccy d or anywhere else,we took the plunge here again.SORRY nothing changes.still poor serve and greasy chips. If the owners don't like a genuine review, maybe they need to look at how they are operating.Gone downhill in last 2 years here.

It didn't start well when my order was taken wrongly, and was then told they couldn't get in the till to give me my money back... When I got home the fish was a very nice size, and the chips were tasty. However, the fish batter really wasn't cooked. It was very stodgy under the surface and not nice. Lots went in the bin which was a shame and a waste of money - as its not cheap.

Not been for a while as standards had dropped last time we did, but have to say we went and tried again today as seems to be new staff. Wow what a difference a friendly and happy welcome when we entered. Fast service and just amazing food, cod was to die for and huge. Can't wait till next week now :-)

Best chippy in the area. They always look after the whole family. Staff are always chatty and friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Only buy there when my other favourite fish & chip shop is closed because it's convenient but every time I find it is more expensive, soggy chips, batter always sticks to paper it's wrapped in, service is very slow.

Not sure what has happened here but the Flying Fish used to be reliable for decent quality fish and chips without a massive wait. Now, the staff seem disinterested and unorganized and seem to want to spend more time chatting to the cooks, who only seem to have two speeds; slow and very slow. My last three visits have all been a quieter times and I've still had long waits. Often waiting ages after the food is cooked, but the person front of house has not noticed. Shame really but next time I'm off the Crowthorne to give that a try.

Sad that the guy running it died not long ago - a real shock as he was very personable and looked after my old Mum when she pops in as she doesn't like too much so they sort her with a child's size.

After moving to Sandhurst we looked forward to having a local chippy. We have been several times and each time hoped we'd get better value for money. Sausages ok and chips passable but expensive for a small portion. Have since tried Istanbul which are further under the bridge and the portions there are huge and taste better

This is my favourite take away in Sandhurst. The food is always very good and is reasonably priced. It's busy, which is testament to it's quality

I visited last week after trying on and off for the last forty years but afraid to say that the food is still the same average to poor. The place needs a good kick up the backside.

Don't understand negative reviews. Lived in Crowthorne 10yrs and local chippy good but this one in Sandhurst always excellent! Good fresh cooked fish with crispy batter and gorgeous chips. Fish & chips are not cheap these days but this is as good value as you'll find anywhere else, if not better. Now live in Farnborough, Hampshire and always come here as nowhere local as good. Well worth 10/15 min drive! A real treat!

Lovely fish, crisp batter. Always hot - often cooked whilst you wait. Great staff very friendly. I pop in once a month/6 weeks and never have any complaints.

Living in Sandhurst with my family all my life, this fish and chip shop is very close to me and sometimes when we fancy a bit of the classic british dish, we go to this place. Before the fish and chips served here tasted wonderful and they even have their own sauces that they offer for a small price. We always come down and visit, however over the years things here had gone downhill. There were times, when there was too much oil and there was an evening where they only had cod and not haddock, which is my favourite fish and they made the chips very soggy and added so much vinegar. These past experiences left me and my family somewhat disappointed and now to find very tasty fish and chips, we have to drive further away instead of walking down like we used to do. The interior design is very bright and welcoming and the staff at the time of my visit were very kind and polite. There are no chairs or benches to sit on and it can be hot and stuffy as the main fryer and ovens are very close to the service desk, which is not too bad during cold nights outside. As well as fish and chips, they also do fried fish cutlets (a bit like fish fingers but larger), sausages and chicken pies and in the past to my surprise they had served Chinese style soups. The fish they cook are cod, haddock and plaice. They also serve pickled egg, gherkins and mushy peas to go with the fish and chips. I sincerely hope that everything will get better for this takeaway in the future and maybe if I give this place one more try, I may be lucky to have better tasting food and if so I may even change my mind. You can try this place out but I would advise caution as what you see may never alway be what you expect to get.

Sorry could not help the pun. I always seem to stop here after shopping in Camberley. One of those 'can't be bothered to cook, how about a take-away' sort of places. Easy to park outside or opposite. Nicely cooked. Oh and I love the plaice.

Fish and chips is hard to perfect, but not hard to make halfway decent. This place fails. The proprietor was surly (although the kids he had working the counter were nice enough). I ordered plaice rather than cod, which resulted in a 10 minuted wait. Inside the batter the fish was watery and had obviously been frozen and not cooked at a high enough temperature. Chips were soggy.

This is the second time I have visited and been disappointed. The first time the fish was soggy so it has been a long time since coming back. Tonight I just wanted chips - how hard can it be for a chippy??! They were very greasy, soggy, limp, not a crisp one in sight. A large portion was barely enough to share so bought an additional portion costing £4.30 in total - ridiculously over priced for a horrible bag of soggy potatoes. Never again. Go to the Istanbul further along in Sandhurst. Takes longer because everything is cooked to order but it's worth the wait. No wonder this chippy was empty. They deserve to be.

Batter was soggy, fish was full of bones. Ordered a curry sauce, was told it would be in the bag and it wasnt. And was over priced. Was very sadly disappointing.

Has a captive market as the only chippy in Sandhurst, but I have tried it twice since moving to the town recently and been disappointed both times. Last time the chips were limp and the fish was undercooked with tasteless stodgy batter. It's not often I fail to finish a piece of fried fish, but that time most of it stayed on the plate. Really must try harder. Although it's walking distance I think I'll resort to a drive next time I fancy fish and chips.

Usual fast service you expect from a good fish and chippy, with good quality fish and OK batter. Generally able to get convenient parking.

Very busy and was told there was a 35 minute wait for food so I got a meal deal sandwich and had a coffee with it. Three self-service screens out of order on a Saturday! The staff were putting the round alerts for food orders next to non-working screens!🙄 Coffee was nice when it arrived. No healthy milk options like oat or soya, and only semi-skimmed milk listed. Maybe it is better on weekdays but not recommended for Saturdays if today was typical of what it is like.
