Tesco Cafe in Bracknell Forest

Very busy and was told there was a 35 minute wait for food so I got a meal deal sandwich and had a coffee with it. Three self-service screens out of order on a Saturday! The staff were putting the round alerts for food orders next to non-working screens!🙄 Coffee was nice when it arrived. No healthy milk options like oat or soya, and only semi-skimmed milk listed. Maybe it is better on weekdays but not recommended for Saturdays if today was typical of what it is like.

Lovely staff, good food, quick service, chicken katsu wrap was slightly too small however. Aside from that, no complaints! Negative reviews are probably from old people who haven’t got to grips with the self order point yet.

Nice position overlooking store, easy online ordering BUT cold breakfast just isn't acceptable. Cold bacon, sausage, beans and has brown, but good poached egg! Took it back, switched bacon for slightly warmer piece. My wife's scrambled egg was less than you'd have on one slice spread over 2 pieces. AVOID!

Lovely watching all the shoppers below whilst having a bite to eat or a drink. The staff are really friendly, especially when I go in with my child. The coffees are really good. All in all I highly recommend this cafe and I go weekly.

Absolute nightmare. I understand the logic for using electronic screens to order food but why oh why is there no menu displayed to give you an idea if there's anything you want to eat! We queued for ages and searched for something with the gluten free symbol only to find nothing listed. Absolute waste of my time -wont bother again

Me and my family had a very unfortunate experience here a few weeks ago. We normally go to a very high end supermarket next door for their cafe as it's excellent. We thought for a change we would try Tesco as it would be a pleasant change. Unfortunately, I should have known that when you have around 8 electronic tills with payment screens and only 3 are working, this is a sign of things to come. We waited in a queue for around 25mins. Some of the items which were out of stock, weren't put onto the system so other shoppers were disappointed. After ordering our food and drink ,we sat down. We ordered a coffee, cake and a small meal (sandwich/wrap type thing). It took around 10 mins to receive the coffee and cake which wasn't ideal but we knew they were busy. It took 39 mins to get our meal which is unacceptable, when you have a baby its hard enough keeping them entertained for a meal nevermind waiting over an hour from start to finish to get our meal. There were some elderly people behind us who only ordered a pot of tea and some chips. They got their tea without milk, they weren't happy either. It was clear that they weren't very efficient either, staff members would pick up one plate and serve, rather than several and they were clearly understaffed they had 3 servers only which compared to competition is more like 15 servers. It wasn't an ideal experience, we aren't intending to go back. I would think twice before going to this cafe - very underwhelming

It's call all day breakfast because it takes all day for them to bring it out to you.

Second time came since re vamp and def gone down hill. Part cooked sausages extremely snotty egg wrong drink , asked for replacement finished breakfast and still no replacement. New manager was apologetic hopefully she can get it back to being good food again.

I’ve eaten breakfast here twice. The first time I ordered and waited 20 minutes for my food to arrive but nothing did. I then asked one of the table staff if she knew where my food was. She seemed puzzled and unsure of what I had asked. Ten minutes later my food arrived. The second time I didn’t bother chasing up the order but just waited. It took 25 minutes. On both occasions the cafe was not busy with most tables empty. I do wonder what takes so long. I can’t believe every item is cooked to order and even if it was it should still arrive quicker than I experienced. Experiment over. I’ll go back McDonalds in future.

Terrible! Why do we have to use a machine to order? What's wrong with ordering at the counter? The cafe was almost empty and that's probably why. Will never go again

The food is very nice. The service is terrible. I was spoken to like an idiot when I asked for a menu. The lady's attitude was disgusting. Then when the food come it was thrown on my table by another lady and she just walked away without as much as a second of eye contact never mind any pleasantries. The staff look like there waiting for the firing squad to come. Miserable gits.

What possessed M and S to change to an automated McDonald's like cafe. After navigating many different screens just to order a coffee it took 15 minutes for it to eventually arrive luke warm. Won't be revisiting.

2/2/2024 The new Tesco restaurant was advertised as night being open so I thought it would be nice to have a look This reminded me of being in MacDonald, with paying by card at the menu station. Being a Pensioner I found this confusing and asked one of the helpers what to do. I used to enjoy my weekly treat of a snack before getting my shopping, anyway I asked to be helped to order a plate of chips and a cup of tea, then it came to light that they do not take cash only cards ! As I only use cash , I had to give up and go. I suppose this is just another company that forgets that there are many people like me that only use cash !!!! Shame on you..

The Café staff are always friendly and ready to go the extra mile without being patronising or offensive. The food is always to a good standard. The shop floor staff are also willing to find items that I cannot find thereby making my experience of shoppi9ng at the store a pleasant one.

We have been going to the Marks and Spencer cafe at the meadows for years. It was our favourite stop for the best scenes and cream and great coffee. Went in today and took a look at what they have done and couldn't be more disappointed the cafe has gone through refurbishment and it's clearly good for business that they have pushed in lots more tables all quite close together but in my opinion it's not good for customers. It's just a big dull open space and just not inviting. And just to finnish me off all orders have to be placed by yourself using touch screen panels that I can imagine will have long queues at high times. I understand that that's the way we are all going these days but it doesn't make it a relaxing treat out anymore. I do have the Marks and Spencer app but it's probably time to uninstall it and move on

I go every week before shopping. Yesterday my family of 5 came along. Being half term (kids eat free) and end of month (pay day) it was exceptionally busy and was told food would be 1 hr. That was fine so we ordered an sat down. I cannot believe some customers were bitterly complaining (some not too nicely) to the lovely young lady (delivering food to tables). We were warned of the delay so this was uncalled for. The staff at tills, those who clear the tables, and serving staff still kept their professionalism. All of them are a credit to Tesco Cafe. Oh and the food is always nice.

Katsu chicken chips and coleslaw, spoke to manager you get 1 teaspoon of coleslaw only, that and a cuppa just under a tenner won't be here again

Have eaten here before and generally the food is okay but service has always been hit and miss. Today forced me to write a review. We turned up at 2.55pm on Sunday to be informed hot food is closed and the coffee machine is off. Now that would be fine but the signs and the site state 4pm. I then said can we get a sandwich for my son from downstairs and simply sit up here in the cafe at which point the gentlemen working there got funny and rude with me and said no. This then caused 2 other customers behind us to also express their frustration with Tescos. Everyone would have been more understanding but the staff working there clearly don't like working there and could not care less about the customers. We shop there because I get to take the boy to the cafe while the wife does shopping. Going forward we will shop elsewhere out of principal.

Lovely breakfast, great price. Nice to get a proper pot of tea. Menu is quite comprehensive so lots of choice. Large airy space so you don't feel crowded. Friendly and helpful staff.

My OH and I eat out a lot in varying-priced restaurants, and we both remarked how brilliant the service was, and how delicious and well-cooked the meals were, at the cafe in Tesco, The Meadows. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. I had scampi and chips - both cooked perfectly. But the highlight for me was the mushy peas (something I’m very particular about) - probably the best mushy peas I’ve ever had!

I would say this is a decent cafe .selling a wide variety of foods.at a decent price.food is pretty good.only.thing I would say is they need more cleaning staff in the cafe.there is always many dirty tables and one person.cleaning when it's quite a big size cafe.staff are friendly.but more staff would lesson the pressure for other staff during busy periods

Just wanted to leave a review regarding the great service we received whilst bringing 5 residents from our care home for lunch at Tesco's (The Meadows store 3149) after shopping at Marks and Spencer's, we had 4 wheelchairs to accommodate and 6 staff, we were able to arrange the food before we arrived, Kelly was fabulous, she was so attentive, sorted out our food, payments, table everything, she couldn't have helped any more, we had fish and chips, it was delicious and hot, we will definitely back, thank you

Fab place to grab a quick lunch! The barista are so nice and the waitresses as well. It’s always clean and tidy which is a plus! The portion sizes are a tad small but still delicious.

Literally only stopped off to use the toilets but stayed for a cup of tea and a bowl of soup! Soup was lovely and hot, very tasty and service was friendly and speedy. Will definitely return

The service is always slow. If you buy a meal and also want a hot drink by the time you have got your drink and paid the meal is cold. There must be a better quicker way.

Whether you just want a coffee and a snack or a light meal you will not be disappointed. Only trouble is its popularity means that seating together if there are more than 3 of you is not that easy to find.

Totally ruined an enjoyable eating venue, no longer able to view the food or preparation, 15-20 min queues at front single till, whole layout lost its cosy feel. Judging by the numbers leaving to go to the cafe next door, M&S must be laughing all the way to the Bank.

The portion was child sized, the food cold and really unpleasant. Complained and had my meal replaced with a bowl of chips and no refund! That was a rather expensive and unsatisfying bowl of chips. Seriously, don't bother. 1 star given as there is no option for no stars.

For a superstore cafe they are pretty good, cater for dietary requirements aswell, whenever I visit staff are always friendly and welcoming

Having driven back from Gloucester we stopped here to buy some food and decided to have lunch as well. There was only 1 person serving and she was grossly overworked, We had a long queue to the till only to be told when we got there that it had broken down and we needed to join the queue for the other till. Lousy customer service here.The food itself when delivered to us was dreadful, some part cooked and all of it cold even though the server had "tried" to keep it warm under lights until we had actually managed to pay. We will not return.

A good place to go after shopping in Tesco's or Marks. Very airy as it is situated on a mezzanine. Service is slow when it is busy, so best to go early.

Worse cafe to get food waited over half hour for a food had to ask where are food was turned out they gave our food to some one else when the food arrived it was cold and burnt don't waste your money and time here

Food was horrible, half not cooked and the other was burnt. You get your food then have to wait in line for 15+ minutes before paying, so food is colder than it was when put on the plate as it is sat out all day. A lady bought back her food and wanted it fresh, it did look like it had been sat there for a while, all they did was put it under the hot light and change the mushroom and give it back! Not even on a busy day.

We have had a few trips to Tesco for breakfast over the years and now when we return to the area after moving away. Breakfasts are varied and of good quality though the bacon can be a little flaccid. If you enjoy a decent coffee make an alternative choice as it is pretty dire especially if you drink it black. Overall a good cheap option for breakfast. Can be busy at popular shopping times.

Felt like I was putting the staff under pressure. More staff to deal with the rush would be beneficial. Food would not go cold whilst in the queue. Also pigeons wandering around as you eat and flying over doesn't boost confidence from a health and safety point of view.

Limited options but great place to get some fresh hot food before / after shopping

Popped in on a journey home for a quick late breakfast. The food looked as if it had been sat there a few days and tasted the same also. The staff were miserable, unhelpful and extremely slow. There was no sense of morale. Would not recommend to anyone this café you’re better off shopping in Tesco for real food, we had to ask for our money back because the food was so appalling that we couldn’t eat it. A very disappointed customer.

I popped in here for my lunch before going to work. There was one person taking food orders who appeared to be quite disorganised. It took quite a while to be served. I ordered fish and chips and I was given a number. I eventually paid and sat at a table with my drink. After waiting over 30 minutes and seeing people that had come in after me getting their food, I went and enquired as to where it was. I was told they were waiting for the peas and it was cooked to order. It finally arrived and was very nice food despite the wait. There seemed to be other disgruntled customers as well who thought it was slow and disorganised. A disappointing lunch.

The hot food was cold,. there was a queue to the pay till because they were under staffed to be able to serve drinks. When comments were given to a staff member afterwards it felt that our concerns fell on deaf ears.

Where do I begin? We had such a terrible experience. First of all staff doesn't smile and they do not seem willing to serve. They look bored and depressed somehow. It took a long time for someone to ask us what we d like. We ordered some macaroni and cheese. The macaroni was overcooked and the sauce undercooked and runny. I really don't know how they managed this. Really disappointed. Never coming back

Good for kids lunch meal but service was so bad I abandoned my own order. Had one other bad experience with very mean portions to go with Jacket potato, but decided to give it another try.

Had 8 item breakfast, thought that meant i could choose but they picked half of it out for me, when i sat down to eat, it felt like either yesterdays sausages or they were cooked at 6am and left out to dry out, scrabbled eggs was rubbery and the bacon was half light and dark pink. Not worth the money i spent

This restaurant is situated on a Mezzanine and is above the main store area. I found it to be good value for a pot of tea whilst shopping in Tesco & M&S;.

Been a while since my last visit and just can’t believe how far this place has gone downhill. There’s a severe staff shortage and the queue to get served was a nightmare - not helped by the concession stall not serving (although it was fully stocked). Staff were run ragged and it seems pointless ordering a hot meal because it’ll be cold by time you reach the till - they did offer to put it under the heat lamp but then it turns into congealed slop. Girl on till was either new or out of her depth - charging wrong amounts and having difficulty locating items on the screen. Worst of all, tables were not being cleared and so customers had to clear a table and pile crockery/leftovers onto other tables. There were posters advertising for staff “to join the team” but why would you want to work in this madhouse?

Awful.... seats are split and have holes in. Food takes an age to prepare and deliver. Staff seemed totally disengaged. After waiting 20 minutes for a toasted panini, we saw them sitting on the side going cold, then they dropped it off the plate so we started all over again.

Used to go here for breakfast in the morning or a coffee in the afternoon but found the staff to be somewhat lethargic and uninterested in what they were doing so don't bother any more. Meal deals can be good value if you are prepared to wait.

Unfortunately since this cafe has changed ownership it has gone down hill. I used to go there with grandchildren and friends. They run out of sandwichiches and wraps before midday. The children's selection is poorer. The queue is never good as there is always problems or hold ups behind the counter. The coffee bar side seems to be closed when I have tried. I now don't even bother looking. Such a shame.

My wife and I came here for a quick bite to eat before doing our shopping. We knew the food would not be 5star, but we just needed something quick and filling before going round some big shops.

There used to be a costa here as well as a cafe that had a good selection of cakes and sandwiches. It is now a very basic canteen with uninspired food selection. It is not even that cheap.

Popped in for lunch with grandchildren. Lots of staff, but very disorganised. My grandson had a greasy, salty ham and cheese toasty with soggy chips. My husband had a meatball panini, with 2 tiny meatballs in each side. I had the cream tea and the scone was very dry. Overpriced, poor quality and maybe a case of too many cooks spoil the broth, as no one knew what they were doing.Will not be returning.

It's a giant Tesco cafe that does a cooked breakfast. Food is satisfactory and the coffee is from a Costa machine.Price is cheap.

I visited on Saturday. First of no trays, Now there are 2 counters here, one for pastries and cakes and the other for savoury food. I asked the lady on the pastry counter "can you tell me where I will find the trays" to which she responded moodily not here I am sick of all my trays being taken! So I then hunt down trays - just bought out but they were ALL disgusting not cleaned at all. So we are in the queue for 15 mins before we are served, not a problem until we are served at 1 minute past 11.30am only to be told we could not have scrambled eggs as these are only available up to 11.30 - no movement on this! Tables EVERY SINGLE table was full of peoples trays, cups, food not consumed. Had to clear our own table. Looking around the place is not clean enough I am afraid. AVOID!!!!

I had used this café many times in the past and when I was in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat I thought it would be a good idea to come again. Sadly I was wrong, very limited choice, slow service and general careless feeling, not what I had experienced before. My baked potato with chilli con carne was not what you expect from a flagship Tesco store. It was warm but had been overcooked some time before.

Awful is the best word to describe this so-called cafe. Lady behind the main food area was pleasant but at just after 1.30 there were few things to eat, no soup the day we went - it hadn't been available at all, cake that looked less than tempting and drinks had to be obtained at the counter 'round the corner'. Why give customers hot food and then send them elsewhere to queue for drinks while their food gets cold? There were no trays at the drinks counter and people were wandering around with hot teapots looking for the nearest table to deposit them. Health and safety?! Come on Tesco, sort this apology for a cafe out! You should be paying customers to use it, rather than the other way round!

Dropped in quickly after school to grab a coffee.... Cakes were stale. The staff had no clue what they were doing and the cashier was rude and abrupt.... Do yourself a favour and go next door to the wonderful M&S cafe (it's nicer, cleaner and the same price)

At the front is a Costa, and behind is a Tesco Cafe usual food along with sandwiches made to order. It's fine, but can be very slow. Also works out more expensive for sandwiches and a drink than next door in M&S.

I have used this cafe on many occasions and have been well satisfied with the choices available and the quality of the merchandise.

Staff totally miserable and unwanting to serve us. Ordered a panini and toasty. Panini was fine but toasty was burnt, hard and basically inedible! The salad had obviously been sat out as was brown and mouldy at ends of lettuce! Definitely not worth paying money for!

I came here with my wife for a coffee on Sunday morning.Coffee was good but the queue was poor.Most of the queue was for tea/coffee but people were served hot food while queueing - which was pretty cold by the time it was paid for.

My family and I wanted to order soup of the day this was at 14.45 and told there was none left. I decided I would have fish and chips but there was none left, I was told that fish and chips are not very popular. I said if this was the case then why have it on the menu if it is a loss leader. I was told this was from above not sure if he was talking about God. I ended up having jacket potato and chilli the jacket was hard and the chilli slightly warmer than the salad. My son had scampi chips and beans but the beans were cold.I would advise to steer clear.

I have not been to Tesco Cafe for a long time due to its hygiene condition during summer and also its poor service previously. However, recently, due to the crowded condition at Marks and Spencer's cafe, I had no choice but to dine at Tesco Cafe next door. Surprisingly, there was much improvement in the food quality, as well as the hygiene condition. Most tables were promptly cleaned as soon as customers left after eating. Keep it up, Tesco Cafe and I shall visit you again! :-)

The cake we took was very dry. Couldnt eat at all. Cakes were not covered which explains the reason. We ordered caramel latte but it was just warm and no taste of carmel in the drink. Tesco needs to really concentrate on the quality.

We decided to have coffee here after shopping in the store but when we got upstairs there was no-one serving. We stood at the counter and watched an employee empty the bins and another one was filling up but still no-one came to serve us. We fully understand that it is not practical to have someone standing around doing nothing but there was no sign of anyone, except the two people mentioned above. We thought one of them might have gone to find someone but that didn't happen. In the end we gave up and went to Marks and Spencer, where we were served. We won't bother going back again.

Came in for breakfast at 9 but food at counter was already overcooked, oily and not very appetizing at all. Staff were friendly enough though but not a good start of the day :(

It's a convenient and cheap place to eat when you're doing a long shop but the queues are miles long so by the time you get to checkout your meal's gone stone cold. Oh and staff have zero knowledge of dietary options, instead you have to study a folder and hold up the queue.

I have not been to Tesco Cafe at the Meadows for a long time, due to its unhygienic condition during summer two years ago. However, when I went shopping at M & S recently, I intended to have lunch at its cafe there but gave up due to its long queue. So, I went to Tesco Cafe instead because it is just nearby. The menu there was very limited with only a few types of hot food. Most of them were full of saturated fats, like hot dogs, fish and chips, etc. Roast pork had disappeared from the menu long, long ago, so my nearest choice was Fish and Chips. I was given an electronic device, which would buzz when my food was ready for collection. This system is very inconvenient for me, who usually dine alone. I had to abandon my seat and leave my shopping bags (full of important stuff) unattended,in order to collect my food. I would suggest that, instead of using the electronic device, Tesco should use the system implemented by Morrisons, whereby customers are given big number tags, which can be placed at their dining tables. The cafe staff will then bring the food to the appropriate tables by looking at the number tags. In this way, customers can also take care of their own personal belonging, instead of taking a risk by leaving them behind while collecting their food! The food at Morrisons Cafe is so much cheaper than those at Tesco Cafe, so if the former can afford to employ extra staff to carry hot food to customers, I am sure there is no problem for the latter to do so too! Moreover, the electronic device was full of finger and thumb prints, and this is not a piece of hygienic thing to be placed on a dining table! When dining, hygiene at the table is also very important!

I have eaten here just the once but have enjoyed the reviews left by others possibly more than the sandwich I ate. Its a supermarket cafe not The Ivy. Set expectations accordingly. My favourite review was 'waited over 30 minutes for service' comment.. I'm fairly certain its self service. And also I liked 'Rude and Dirty' .... doesnt everyone .....

On our way to Luton airport we stopped for breakfast at Tesco Extra cafe in Camberley! Although the cafe was clean, the staff had very differing ideas about hygiene in the workplace, pretty sure people with long hair when handling food should have a hair net and hat on!! The food had been sat on the hot plate for too long and wasn't very nice, although it was cold by the time we got our coffee from the dream team at the till! Not a good experience and one I won't be revisiting! Tesco do get lots of things right, but hot (Luke warm) food isn't one of them!! Staff in uniforms would also be nice, thought we got served by a random passer by!! Avoid if your hungry.

It's very hit and miss depending on staff. As siblings working in an area that Tesco is central we try to meet up here at least once a month. Often I will choose a jacket potato. On one occasion they had run out, how does this happen with the store below? Others I get a tiny garnish of salad rather than a side salad, occasionally the potatoes are hard and the amounts of filling vary. Surely this should not be difficult...

It's location is so handy that I wish this cafe was improved upon as its a disappointment. What a shame! Often wait for food too. It is fairly reasonable however

As title says, I will not be returning to this cafe in the near future. I came here with a family member who absolutely raves about this cafe but after my experience I have no idea why. It took forever to be served with really slow customer service. I don't understand why though as the place wasn't busy at all. I ordered a muffin and a iced coffee. The muffin was the most disgusting thing I'd ever tasted in my life, it tasted like the ingredients were off, like a elderflower taste and the drink was just watered down coffee. When I went to complain to the woman serving she laughed in my face and said there was no way they could taste bad because she had personally made them this morning. I didn't know she had made them, I was in no way making a personal attack on her but the food genuinely tasted like humans shouldn't be eating it. After she huffed off I sat back down and did make a complaint as I was leaving. The manager who I spoke to was very kind and listened and said she would definitely look into all the other muffins being sold as she said it could well be the woman had used 'off' ingredients from their supplier. That's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars because of that woman. I would not recommend at all.
