Excellent service from Alex, and the landlord Mark is very friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere in the garden. My first visit here and had a lovely time and definitely will be back! Think I have found my new local

What a fantastic night! Fabulous relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, Marc was a great host and provided a lovely buffet supper for all. So nice to have a local pub that’s dog friendly, warm and welcoming plus great for families too.

This was the lunch stop on our ramble from Ascot. We knew in advance that food probably wouldn't be available, as the new owners wanted the kitchen redone. This was the case - not even got a quote yet. No problem - the nearby Tesco sorted food - and very cheaply. We could eat it in the pub too. Just a pity they couldn't manage tea/coffee though - no ingredients even. Still - pleasant staff, spacious and very accessible.

After a rather hectic day out with my disabled client at the lovely Lookout Discovery Centre, I needed to quench my thirst and relax a bit before heading back home on the mobility bus. So glad to find this lovely pub. The staff made us welcome and could not do enough for us. They topped up my clients sippy cup with water after all she is partial to a refreshing glass of water. Also I was flagging after pushing her chair along the various roads and uneven paths to get there so finding this was a pleasant surprise. It is a fantastic find. For starters the staff were lovely, they even made me a coffee in a real mug. I was able to care for my client in a peaceful atmosphere both inside in the cool and outside in the glorious sunshine. My client loved the flat screen TVs (all four of them) displaying the latest music videos including Khalid!. It's perfect for pub games, I wish I had bought my pool cue because they have a decent pool table and TWO dartboards which made me feel I had already scored bullseye. How I wish it was my local. Its really spacious with cosy seating areas and an open fire (not lit). Moving around the premises with my client, wheelchair and baggage was no problem. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the kitchen is closed for refurbishment. The friendly staff let me feed my client with her packed lunch and do her arty crafting at a table in peace. They informed me about the plans ahead to upgrade the entire pub so they will be able to serve food (I do love a pub lunch). The loos were spotlessly clean. All they need now (apart from the pub grub) is a disabled toilet and "Arjo" style pull-down changing bed with hoist, which would also make the perfect setting for baby changing. I will be back.

I regularly meet up with friends here, and we often opt for a roast. It's freshly made and great value for money as well as being a generous portion size. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and drinks are also very reasonably priced. Would recommend

This is a great pub. Friendly staff and friendly locals. Kevin and Jean are fantastic landlords who make all feel welcome. The food is good value and always of a high quality. If you want a good night out in a warm friendly pub, you can't go wrong here

Always a great place and not a local but made to feel totally welcome. Such a friendly pub and staff are great (Charlie and Michelle) and nothing is a problem and made to feel as a local. The locals are friendly and welcoming all the time. Defiantly recommend if you want friendly service and a warm welcome and made to feel at home. Food is good, always cooked fresh and service is prompt, standard pub fair and reasonable price. Range of lagers is limited but fine, you know what you are getting.

Popped in here with my Brother,Great parking, Very nice pub lots of space warming fire place and clean, im sure its pretty good, but I felt un wanted, I appreciate it was busy, but it took for ever to get served there is an obvious serve the regulars first, I had thought we might get served in order of arriving at the bar but obviously not. We sat down and talked the music was very good and not too loud. The lady behind the bar was pleasant but was on her own and Thus the bar was left unattended at times, maybe they where short staffed. My Brother went to the bar to order another round, after an age he came back and said, he was third in line to be served but after being ignored for so long, came back to the table, we agreed to leave and left the Locals to there Local.

The pub is open-plan, with a stone-flagged bar, in which the pool table takes centre stage at one end, and an intimate carpeted section with cosy private tables and a brick fireplace. There is an outside smoking area. A rather good choice of recorded songs was playing at a comfortable, non-intrusive volume. There is nothing fancy here, but equally the review that stated that the bar area was "run-down" is inaccurate or out of date. I did not arrive at a time when food was being served.
