This was a pub that we have been going to since 1973 but will NOT be again!!We are a bunch of friends(7) that meet up to have a Sunday roast and a chat and catch up. My wife booked the table 16 days before and when we got there we had been place in a very drafty place where all the comings and goings were and it was very cold and windy! We found another table but were not allowed to change as it was where the bar Manger had placed us. The food was less than we were led to believe ! cold food for a Roast Sunday Lunch is not on anybodies list of things to do for a fun Sunday. The veg were pre- cooked and warmed up and placed on the side of the plate.Roast potatoes were tasteless Beef tough and pork very very fatty!

I can't reccomend this pub enough. I am a regular drinker. I tried the food last week as a anniversary meal . The staff could not have been more accommodating. Marney, the in shift supervisor made sure our night went without a hitch .Table presentation a 10/10 The customer service from the staff was on point and the food fantastic As mentioned, I am a regular drinker at this pub. There is a great place to sink few. Good quality beer.

Arrived without booking to a late lunch but they had closed the kitchen early. Sensing our disappointment they snuck in a late order and we were rewarded with a delicious pork roast. We tipped the chef as a result as it’s rare to find somewhere so accommodating. Well done the Pots!

Today’s meet up was enhanced by Simon and the Potts team. From the welcome, to fitting our booked group of 6 to expand to 14, to the excellent menu selection of nice, honest food and busy team service, it was a really, really pleasurable lunch. The beer was a surprise as well - the range on tap is wider than I was expecting, price a delight and everyone fed back on good taste. If only I hadn’t been driving! Well done. I am very happy to recommend this fine pub. Keep up the great work - we need more pub teams like this! Simon - please pass on out thanks to the whole team.

The Pots is a superb country pub. The beer is amazing, Gooden's Gold is a stand out pint, and the food is very good value for money. Pints are under £4. Afterwards you can walk the Cheriton battlefield (1644).

We dined as a group and all had the Thai specials main course. The ambience and service were good, However The quality of ingredientes , taste and presentation was poor and very disappointing. The stir fry chicken with salad consisted of a few green beans and carrots in a tasteless , gravy like sauce and rice plus slices of the most unappetising chicken I have ever eaten , the menu listed salad consisting was in fact two pea shoots. Other main courses were similarly short on any vegetables or quality protein ingredients with the duck dish again being disappointing and hard to eat as it was served in a bowl and on the bone. A lovely pub but We wont be back to eat again.

We booked for Sunday lunch in the barn restaurant, lovely setting, menu choice was difficult as everything sounded great .. we weren't disappointed, presentation was very good , quality was great, and quantity .. well we would have liked desert but were too full ! To top off the experience was .. goodens gold from the barrel. But the big surprise was the value for money , we will definitely go back. Oh, and there was no rush to chase us from the table, we were catching up with friends and we lingered. . For a very long time .. over a coffee to chat , and no-one tried to move us on. Definitely a good find.

Very disappointing. Need to review their booking policy. Tried to book two weeks in advance for my birthday meal with my family Both The website and staff said the reserved tables were booked but they always kept tables spare so there'd be no problem. Turned up on the day with my two small kids and elderly mother for my birthday meal to be turned away as already full and all tables were taken. Extremely disappointing. If they had said they were fully booked I would've booked elsewhere and not been so let down.

We called in at 12.30 on the off-chance. The car park was packed so we expected to be turned away but were lucky to get the last table for two. The Pots deserves to be, and is, very busy as the food and drink is all such good value: starters about £7.00, mains £10-16, half of porter £1.95, a large glass of Tempranillo £6.00. Quite amazing these days! We both chose the venison burgers which were absolutely first rate, accompanied by lovely coleslaw and crispy chips. I was tempted by literally everything on the menu, even the veggie options. The young members of staff were all welcoming, friendly, efficient and enthusiastic. We can’t wait to try the Thai menu available on Wednesday evenings. By all accounts, it’s brilliant!

We booked Sunday lunch with my sister and brother in law, we wanted to try the Chestnut Horse with the intention to book for Christmas. The starters were lovely but not to be said for the main course, my sister and I had the roast beef, the beef was cut thickly and the whole plate full was verging on cold, my sister order extra cauliflower cheese which arrived towards the end of her meal. We ordered puddings, my sisters came first, ice cream, and ours arrived half an hour later and was not fully as we ordered. The staff were very pleasant and apologetic. Such a shame for a lovely country pub.

Absolutely horrific experience. 2hrs from order to delivery. And completely the wrong order. And the coffee was cold. Never again

Had a great evening with friends. A very good menu and the food was excellent. There was a live band (Queen bee and the trappers)which everybody enjoyed and some danced to. A really good pub.

It's my favourite coffee , and the cafe is perfectly placed for us to sit and watch the passing show.
