I always have coffee in this coffee shop as it is closest to me and they have a nice tasting coffee. However, the cafe is always dirty. Crumbs on the seat and left over food in the table. Also, you will always smell kitchen after sitting in the cafe for few minutes. Customer service is not great too, barista is always so cold and not welcoming.

I popped in to the flour pot bakery for something to eat with my wife.I was surprised how little they bothered with the customer service.I asked what was on offer and where the menu was, I got no response and felt really awkward 😕.The coffee was ok but the whole ambiance was awful. Its a shame as I won’t be coming back!

Hi, I get my coffee from here once a week. This time the barista gave me the fakest smile ever - you know the one where it just stops dead pan and then stare at the machine. I requested skimmed milk - but they used semi skimmed and still said to me' skimmed cappu' extra hot' even though I requested 'skimmed'. Ok - it's a first world problem but they use semi-skimmed even if you request skimmed. Your business is better than this - I'll sadly be going back to the coffee shop 400m down the road where they seem that little but more thankful for my business.

It would seem that the owners of this business do not care about cleanliness. The previous review highlights our own experience today. Dirty tables, and crumbs all over the floor and at 10.30am. It is not surprising as we noticed one member of staff coming in from outside having cleared a table BUT not wiped it over. We had 2 coffees (very nice) and a "yesterdays" pain au chocolat which even fresh would have not have been very good. I agree with the previous reviewer, we will not be going there again.

I visited the Flour Pot Bakery in Worthing with my other half as they have a good reputation in Brighton and figured it was worth a try. How wrong we were. After we had ordered our food we realised there were crumbs and dirt everywhere. Most of the cutlery pots had run out of napkins and I had to use one from the table next to us to wipe our own one down. The quality coffee and the toasties were the only saving grace (although the ketchup was an acquired taste, almost like it had cinnamon?). The staff were ok if a bit disinterested, I couldn’t believe there were 4/5 members working and it was still so dirty. Considering the hygiene of the place we wouldn’t ever eat there or likely any of the chains again. If it looks like the at front of house, what does the back look like? Would not recommend.

Visited here for the first time 11/04 and just saw the trip advisor card i had taken which reminded me to write this review. My friend and i came in around 20 minutes before they closed hoping for a quick coffee and maybe a sweet treat. The young lady that served us was incredibly kind and patient as we were choosing what to have of the last treats. She was nice and chatty and gave us some great recommendations on what was best. There was also a chirpy young chap sweeping the floor, getting ready to close i presume, who stopped straight away to make our coffees and bring them over. They came super fast with beautiful patterns that looked as though he really tried his best with them! My husband has a gluten intolerance and asked if they sold any bread gluten free. I was told they do usually but only get one as they don’t sell well - which is understandable. The chap apologised and offered to reserve one just for me the following day. I was incredibly grateful for this as finding a good well made gluten free bread can be a challenge! Upon leaving we were offered a free danish as they weren’t sold during the day. Will definitely be coming back and visiting here often! Service is wonderful, they care about their customers and it seemed like they enjoyed working there as we heard them laughing and chatting respectfully as they were getting ready to close. We really appreciate this wonderful experience we had, thank you.

There were crumbs on our table from the previous customer (as others have mentioned), crumbs all over the bench seats (which are dark grey, so show crumbs up), crumbs under the table - and on the window sills were a few very sick looking plants, and large areas of loose soil where presumably other plants had been - I wanted to grab a cloth and wipe it all clean. Sad because the tea / coffee and service was fine, but let down by lack of care / emphasis on cleaning.

Closing time on a Sunday is 1600, two of us popped in at 9 mins to for a quick cup of tea and any cake/biscuit they had available to see staff clearing up and was advised by the guy to "try somewhere else", so we did and won't return in future. I suggest going to G-Lite further along the road in Warwick Street; there we had a lovely cup of tea and an Italian biscuit. Suggest maybe you put "no service 15 mins before closing time" or similar outside in future.

Despite a notice on the door saying dogs are welcome but paws must remain on the floor, I was told head office allow small dogs on their owner's laps to sit up to the table when I pointed out the dogs on laps and lack of food hygiene to a member of staff. Tables are not always cleaned or cleaned thoroughly between customers. Staff also stroke dogs and then carry on serving without washing their hands. Dogs are allowed off lead to wander freely around the tables whilst owners order at the counter. Very poor hygiene for a bakery with loaves of bread on open shelving.

We witnessed the worst service ever. A wobbly table caused a drink to spill. The waitress came with a toasted sandwich ordered by the customer. The customer indicated the accident and was subjected to a very unpleasant exchange. The customer was told that she shouldn’t have kicked the table, had caused the accident and so wasn’t eligible for a refill. Eventually the manager appeared who insisted the customer went outside to discuss the event in heavy rain. We understand a refund was finally given. The waitress reappeared with a cloth to wipe the table and angrily almost threw a chair out of the way. We were very upset for the customer and felt very ill at ease. We will not return.

Flatters to deceive, and not just this branch of the FPB. All looks good and presented in vogue with the bakery/coffee theme that is so prevalent right now. The marketing is very good. However, the food and drink did not live up to the billing. The coffee was not memorable and the roll fillings were poor. We go over the road every time now.

Visited around 12 noon. Good coffee. Good selection of sandwiches & cakes. But! Tables not cleaned after previous customers. Floor was full of old crumbs. Dust & cobwebs around benches, window, walls & ceiling. Could put off customers returning. Staff member told me they cleaned before closing???

You know what didn't expect much from this place but I was extremely impressed with the service from the staff, especially Leanne who was the one who made my wonderful chai latte with a pretty little pattern, its the small things like that, that make my day. Would definitely recommend to others and will be back again!

We are regulars at our local flour pot, so much so that the staff know our order before we have to ask! The coffee and treats are great and the staff are all beautiful, lovely, friendly people. Never underestimate the importance of good staff! A decent range of Vegan options too, which is always very much appreciated.

The perfect brunch Such a lovely welcome from the staff. Excellent food ( I recommend the breakfast roll), lovely pastry (cinnamon & orange bun) and the best coffee I’ve had in ages

First visit to this branch of Flour Pot and it did not disappoint. A wonderful Apricot Danish and excellent coffee. Good service too - the girl who served me (I think I heard someone call her Evie) was really friendly and answered a question I had. Great to see it busy, with people inside and out. A nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

The food in here is 6 stars if that is possible. A great selection and really really nice. My one and only gripe was the price. When you go into a bakery, you expect change out of a tenner for a sandwich and a cookie. But to be fair, that seems to be the way most are going now. Great food tho.

Greeted with a welcoming smile. Top service from genuinely friendly staff, fabulous food and superb coffee. I highly recommend the capresse toastie , breakfast roll, almond croissant & the cinnamon roll. It’s basically all delicious. 😋

This is mine and my partners favourite place to see in the weekends! Without a doubt, the nicest coffee in town and the best sourdough toasties we've ever had. Their new chilli cheese grilled toastie has become my new favourite. However, their caprese grilled toastie is a close second! We love that there are so many vegetarian and vegan options, including a wide variety of pastries - vegan coconut pain au chocolat is my favourite! It's a lovely atmosphere, the staff are super friendly, remember us and they've got our usual order cracked already! We always see familiar faces there and lovely dogs, too. It's become a real hub for the local community 😋

I've been to Flour Pot a bunch of times since it opened in Worthing and it is my favourite local coffee shop now. From delicious snacks like the little cookies often on the counter to the breads too, it might be my go-to coffee place but I cant ever pass up the opportunity for one of their baked goods. They make mynflat white perfectly and i also love their ice coffees. Super lovely staff, helpful and they enjoy a chatter which I really quite like. Best coffee shop in Worthing.

We were going to eat in the cafe, but were put off by the number of uncleared tables. The whole place looked a mess! And it wasn't even a busy time! And the customer toilets ( at least in the gents ) were a disgrace. There was no toilet paper in the WCs, the one soap dispenser was empty and one of the two hand dryers wasn't working.

Very disappointing. Ordered the sausage bap £6.95. Got a dry brioche bun (which I personally don't like), not a bap containing 1.5 small sausages. No relish, garnish. My friend ordered the bacon bap £5.95 - again a dry brioche and a small amount of bacon. The place looked lovely from outside, but service was slow even though it wasn't particularly busy. Maybe we just chose the wrong option, but won't be returning. 😒

Strange atmosphere almost non existent. Was served by friendly lad and then another woman joined the queue behind me and a young woman called emily came out from back almost appearing moody...took the order from the lady behind me with no politeness just blunt and rude then stropped off out of sight again leaving the lad to make the drinks and serve at the till too. She seemed irritated that she had to do something....although what she did was very little as tables needed clearing too. She created a strange atmosphere and even the lady behind me commented to me about this too. Large shop that seems understaffed and unclean but also not ever busy that I've seen so maybe that's why there's no atmosphere 🤔 unlike any other costa I've ever visited. Will stick to my usual one in town centre.
