The Flintgate in Elmbridge

The Flintgate is a pub I've been to many times. The beer is good, the bar staff are excellent and the waiting staff are always attentive. We were 2 couples who had a great night on Saturday which was completely spoilt by the aggressive security/bouncer who decided that a table of 4 fifty year olds who had very nearly finished their drinks needed to leave the pub NOW despite there still being another 20 people in the pub! I haven't experienced such aggressive and unnecessary behaviour since my 20's and it was completely uncalled for. If we'd been loud, obstructive, rude or falling over drunk I'd have understood but I can't for the life of me understand what his motivation was! Unfortunately it will be the last time we frequent the pub!

We had our wedding reception at the Flintgate. Soo happy that we did! What a lovely place to hold a party of any type. The back part of the garden, which gated for privacy,is beautiful and plenty of space, for 100+ guests. For food we had the Hog Roast option. All our guest absolutely loved it. We would like to thank, Massimo, Josh, Will and the team for the incredible work, help and dedication. To make our day very special. Before and after the party. We will definitely have another party there. We highly recommend the Flintgate, whether you want to hold a function or just want to go for some food and drink. Thank again to everyone at the Flintgate. Good times

Came here for Sunday lunch with my husband and daughter it’s a nice clean looking pub with nice decor, we ordered the Sunday roast and some drinks unfortunately my husband had to change his drink as the beer was off, our roast dinner was beautiful very nicely done, we waited a long time to order deserts and it was not busy we kept trying to get the staff’s attention however I seemed only one person was serving while 3 others stood around at the bar chatting we did eventually order desert however it was very disappointing like warm custard gritty tasting sticky toffee puff and the apple pie was not hot either, so over all I would not rush back it’s also quite expensive for a pub.

My whole family agreed that the food was absolutely delicious and the staff are very lovely

Lovely meal, great atmosphere and a good price

The staff are really quick and efficient at the bar and serving at the table. The quiz night on a Sunday is fantastic, one of the best in the area. The only thing that lets the Flintgate down is the terrible state of the ladies toilets. It has been like this for months, one loo that won't flush, loo roll all over the floor, broken or wobbly loo seats, it is terrible. It such a shame as it lets down such a lovely pub. Can't comment on the Men's though!

Had a drink here - good range of beers available and served quickly. You can park in the streets nearby so that’s pretty easy.

We went to the Flintgate on Christmas day for Lunch 2024 . Lovely experience .We were given a glass of prosecco on arrival service was unrushed and the staff engaged and attentive. The food as usual was really good our roast dinner was lovely. Turkey moist, loads of gravy, Roast potatoes really roasted and a Yorkshire pud as big as the plate. Shout out to the chef. You made my vegan daughters Christmas . A proper Christmas dinner for a vegan with everything. Other pubs offered her a sweet potato and some root vegetables. Really 5 stars for atmosphere , food and waiting staff. We brought our pooch too which was so important to have her with us on Christmas day. Well done the Flintgate .

Booked the Flintgate for 8 family members on Boxing Day 2024. The pub is clean, tidy, well decorated and kept to a good standard. Everyone decided to select from the normal menu, but there was a festive Boxing Day brunch selection also available. The food was of good standard with a great selection available to choose from. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. If you just want a drink or out for food, the Flintgate is a great pub for any occasion. The Flintgate is a dog friendly pub and the team are more than to welcome people who wish to visit with their dogs. Overall a nice place to socialise and eat food.

Lovely atmosphere, and although it was very busy the staff were very efficient and friendly. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Ordered lunch fish and chips. Basically a child's portion sold to adults. Look at the photo, it's about 3 bites, the chips are as big as the fish! 3x lunch plus 2 drinks each, £99.

Went for Sunday lunch, 4 of us and the dog, seated in the cosy heated outdoor patio. No sooner had I sat down from ordering the food at the bar (which you only have to do if sat outside) it all appeared in front of us! Our mouths all fell open at the speed of this order, literally minutes even though it was really busy. The quality and portion size is out of this world and the best part is the price, so reasonable- huge plates of delicious home cooked food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and dog friendly- what more could you ask for 😍

Lovely selection of local beers, real burgers and helpful staff. The outside area is very cozy and well organized.

Had an excellent lunch at The Flintgate last weekend. The food was good and plentiful service was prompt and friendly and the whole ambience was lovely. Heartily recommend their Sunday roasts.

Delicious vegetarian pie, vegetables and gravy, cooked to perfection and arrived piping hot. Cannot fault the food, service snd ambience here, which is why I am a regular. See you again on 5th December for an early birthday celebration (mine)!

I came in with my pals for some beers and dinner yesterday evening and was very impressed with the service we got, the Tomahawk was awesome and the blonde young lady who looked after us was excellent! Will definitely recommend!! 🍻

Went on a Monday night to have a family celebration for my child's birthday. 8 of us in total, staff were so helpful and welcoming. Not one mistake with any of the order, food came out fast and all cooked perfectly. It was their Burger Day so most of us had a burger, all really good. Really cannot fault the evening, to top it off tremendous value for money as well.

Great local pub, offering a fantastic Sunday roast. Good quality food, big portions, service with a smile. The only suggestion would be to have a larger selection of desserts and to improve the chocolate sauce on the brownie. A steak knife would be better for the beef. It was provided upon request.

We came here for a Family birthday celebration and all had the Sunday roast. On first impression the velvet chairs were dirty, menus and tables were also sticky and men’s toilets could have done with a clean - especially since our table was booked for opening time on a Sunday. Lots of staff, who though were friendly weren’t very attentive. The food was good (veg, Yorkshire etc) but we were all left disappointed with the quality of the meat. Such a shame as we’ve been previously on a weekday where the food was much better.

Great outdoor Sunday meal with friends. Socially distanced and hand sanitised. Masks are worn when not at table. Staff helpful and polite and put mind at ease. Fantastic food and drink. Heaters are available if you need and are sat near. Well recommended.

Went with some friends for my birthday. Staff friendly and attentative but not over bearing. The food is amazing as always. We will be back again soon.

Had 2 x really bad experiences here recently, despite having previously enjoyed coming here I would definitely now not recommend. I've had frozen food arrive, which then when re-heated was still frozen in the middle. Most recently the management has behaved so poorly when dealing with an issue and been rude with zero people skills. No longer somewhere I'll choose to go.

Sunday lunch with the family. Atmosphere was warm and cosy. Roasts were generous portions and very tasty and service was good. Overall a very good experience.

Booked table for two on line which was an easy process. On arrival had friendly greeting, table had small chalk board with names and times reserved. You are allotted 1 hour 45 mins which is ample. Drinks ordered and then food ordered. I had the beef and friend had pork both roast dinners. When it arrived it had plenty of meat and veg as well as a yorkshire pudding on the plate. If I was going to be picky I would have liked my beef rarer, also I was not over keen on the cauliflower cheese and the stem of the broccoli was really hard. Also I would have preferred to put my own gravy on my dinner. Those couple of things aside both the beef and pork dinner were all very tasty and filling. After a short break we managed dessert ordering the banana waffle and the churros both yummy. Would defiantly recommend and go back. We booked for Sunday 5.15pm and whilst it was busy it was not overcrowded or noisy so I guess we missed the main Sunday lunch roast crowd, which was nice.

We were staying in Weybridge for 3 nights before flying back to Australia. Mr Despot was celebrating a birthday & was keen for a pub meal. We adopted The Flintgate as our 'local' for the duration of our stay! The pub has been tastefully refurbished with cozy indoor dining space as well as covered & open outdoor dining. There are heaters for outdoor dining in cooler weather. The food was excellent (Mr Despot had fish & chips with mushy peas for lunch & Beef & Ale pie for dinner, Mrs Despot enjoyed her excellent haloumi burger for lunch & her pizza for dinner). Staff were friendly & efficient. Without asking, they marked Mr Despot's birthday with a complimentary glass of wine. Highly recommended.

we ordered pork barbecue and vegetarian burger with excellent halumi cheese peppers and eggplants grill .. the draft beer, we tasted a very aromatic one produced locally, even the bill was fair. Massimo, the manager is simply the person that every customer would like to meet every time they are about to eat. Kind, attentive and generous with advice regarding the menu. We will certainly return soon 👍👍

My Husband and I booked the Flintgate for Friday night drinks and a Sunday BBQ to wrap around our wedding at Oatlands Park in September. The team at the Flintgate were fantastic and we cannot speak highly enough about our experience. The food was also great and good value for money. We booked the outside area and tent area which was plenty big for 60 people. We pre-ordered food and drink which was all set up on arrival and the staff made sure that everything ran really smoothly. Would definitely recommend for any function.

We came for a family get together. The food was lovely. The staff were mostly lovely. However one of the barmen ruined the overall experience. I wanted to order my 20yo daughter a vodka lemonade they wouldnt serve me for her, no problem. But after that the constant staring, then sending a lovely junior staff member to question us as to who another drink was for, was giving jobsworth, power trip and was incredibly intrusive and insulting for a table of responsible adults. It was nothing to do with duty of care it was hostile accusatory and controlling. When we expressed how it made us feel he was rude, and arrogant and just walked off. We refused service charge and tipped the lovely junior staff in cash. He stands out as he is really scruffy where the other staff were so smart polite and pleasant. Whilst hes employed there we would give it a miss. Otherwise we enjoyed !

I had a very pleasant evening here ....service was impeccable and the food was yummy!

Would give zero stars if I could… service was absolutely shockingly bad. Very young girl serving who had nothing about her.. no smile, no conversation, no apologies for food being wrong or very delayed. Ordered 3 chicken roasts and various other mains- were told after ordering there were no roasts left, another of our mains was wrong- no apology- everyone’s food came out at different times, leaving some people sat with nothing to eat- had to ask 3 or 4 times about items that were still missing- still no apology or even a little update to say when it was coming. Items charged incorrectly with the menu giving one price and the bill saying another! Seems to be run by teenage staff who look as though they really don’t want to be there. Spoiled a nice Sunday out… even had the cheek to add service to our bill… not once did anyone come and ask if our food was ok. Will not be returning or recommending anyone to visit. Whilst we were there, several other tables had to get out of their seats to get service from one of many staff standing around doing nothing.

Celebrated my birthday this summer, Emily was super helpful and advised me on lots of options available to me. Ended up just reserving some tables outside and had such a lovely evening. Great pub.

I'm new to the area. This is a nice pub. If I was just drinking, I would have given it four stars (I don't like saying bubbles). However, as I was eating, I am only saying it was average. The pizza I had was okay, but there are so much better pizzas out there that I can't say it was very good.

Sunday lunch, very good, let down by the beef which was a bit gristly. Lamb tasty and very soft, pork belly beautiful. Loads of veggies, and a monster Yorkshire Pudding. Good beers. Lovely lunch.

This pub has such a great atmosphere and so has the garden space . The staff are attentive and happy to serve! The food is delicious. Love this place in Oatlands Village, Weybridge.

Lovely pub with nice garden. Really good menu so ate outside in the sun. Good range of their own craft beers too. Friendly service.

Lively atmosphere, good food (Much better than other local pubs we've tried), service with a beaming smile, friendly bouncer with a sense of humour and 10 minutes walk from our house. What's not to like? I would have given 5 stars if it were not for the disappointing vegan cheesecake. I would suggest offering a non vegan version too. It was also quite noisy in the restaurant and it was difficult to have a conversation. Overall a great night out. We also noticed how much space there was outside in the tent area. We had no idea it was there. We shall return! Thank you 👍

Had to return our substandard, overpriced roast dinners. Beef was chewy and uncuttable. Served with raw broccoli. The replacements weren’t much better. Then they had the audacity to charge us full price for both and the service charge. No idea how to treat customers and pure profiteering. I wasn’t going to post a negative review but they asked for my feeback via email and I didn’t even get a reply or apology.

Love thing to this pub, definitely a nice vibe/ atmosphere. Especially when they have the live music nights, the band is awesome 👌

Cracking evening, great food lovely venue helpful staff and live music to boot. Only thing (which they couldn't help) was a man smoking the most stinky cigar who seemed to move where we did !!!

Nice, comfortable restaurant area inside and a spacious beer garden at the side. Food is super, good size portions, good choice and the roasts are superb. Really friendly and helpful staff. Nothing to gripe about! Great choice any evening of the week.

Always a great visit. Staff and food on point. Drink selection superb. Not our local but we often travel here to enjoy its offerings. Highly recommended.

Went to try their lunchtime menu - 3 courses for £16.50. It was superb value. Really good quality and good portion sizes. It was our first visit to the pub and we were really impressed with it. I only docked it a star on atmosphere because there was no one else there - but the upside was that they were very attentive on service. There was no car park on the day we visited but there was free parking on the road.

Stopped for lunch, a couple of bar snacks and 2 sandwiches, very nice but expensive when service charge is added

Craft ale overpriced .. not really a pub .. Guinness was okay , apparently the larger is rubbish .. didn't try the food ... This is the pub that had the illegals living above . Potentially pretentious .. well Weybridge what do you expect

Booked one of the garden huts. Really nice couple of hours with the kids. Three courses, all excellent including the presentation - and friendly staff.Kids had classic burgers, I had the Snapper. Gonna be a regular over the summer.

We had a brilliant afternoon at the pub with our 2 kids. The roast was delicious, the service was impeccable, friendly and quick even with the place being very busy and the atmosphere was just lovely. It is well worth a stop for just a pint from their amazing options on tap or to stay for a meal and soak up the atmosphere. A great place all around and deserve all the 5 stars possible.

The environment is good, the ambience is ok. Near the 3 star hotel.

Went on Friday evening with some friends. Had an outdoor heated booth (did not need to turn the heater on) but it was nice. Service was quick, food menu was good, food portions were good. Can recommend the Sharing Nachos with pulled pork and the Ribs for main course.

Nice lunch! Rather cold inside the restaurant! Good service as usual. Tried the special korean chicken burger. Wow! Update 12/12: went for lunch. Place was packed with Christmas partiies! Fish and chips was good though. Usual brilliant service. Update 15feb24. Excellent lunch - great service and the restaurant was warm! Until someone complained they were tòo hot so the waitress opened the window to st. Mary's! Why not tell then to relocate to the garden or to take a layer of clothes off? I was sitting on the garden side of the restaurant (19). In a t-shirt having lunch with a friend recovering from cancer treatment. We left. Another day, a different experience! My usual table so i could have Buster next to me. I don't think Massimo was impressed with Buster's tail being close to the table across the corridor. The guys were ok though and made a fuss of him. My fish and chips were usual high standard. Service good too. Buster's tea on the napkin, they had run out of the small boxes!

This pub looks good on the outside always busy,though we would give it a try. Was warmly greated by bar staff enquired about a table was told yes no problem shown table drinks brought to table,menus given all good so far. Given some foods recommendations good options avaliable for all tastes placed our order food arrived in good time and very well presented, tasty and hot. That's it...!! No after service or enquiry as to whether the food/service was good, bad or indifferent ,or any other drinks or desserts,coffee offered, the young staff working seemed more interested in socialising with the the other young people at other tables. Such a shame really and the evening came to an end.

Well our booking was cancelled a few hours before our booking by the booking system despite having two confirmation emails and nothing to say we needed to confirm the booking further so we were a bit surprised to just now get a ‘How was your trip to The Flintgate…’ email?! So yep, not great given you cancelled our booking last minute and screwed up our Sunday evening plans with friends 🤨

I have been to The Flintgate many times with friends and family, and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Today, however, for the first time I was very disappointed in my roast dinner. The chicken was undercooked and the vegetables were very soggy. Overall the whole plate was bland. Service was okay, but the menu and a few glasses on the table were dirty. So disappointed as we love The Flintgate, but today was not good! Not sure if the chef has changed, because it uses to be so reliable. Hopefully this can be fixed as it’s always been a staple for us.

As a couple we would expect to be able to chat over a meal and a drink! No, the noise level and a group shouting to each other ruined our very experience evening meal ! I took a comfort break to be greeted at 6:45pm by dirty toilet floor

We went for a family meal out. This was a first visit we had starters and mains and the choices were lovely. The chicken burgers were very large, and with chunky chips were amazing. The puddings looked good, but we had no space unfortunately for them after the starters and mains. We will be back though.

We ordered several dishes to share and were pleased with the services. Nice restaurant with a huge seating outdoors as well as inside. The food is delicious, especially the pork ribs. Not crazy about the dessert. It is difficult to find a parking spot as the restaurant has no designated parking space.

I write this review with regret, as my husband and I have considered this a favourite place to go with friends for a Sunday lunch. We took friends here last Sunday and were so disappointed. Two of us had lamb, and it was almost shaped like patties or processed meat. And overdone. My husband had a beef roast and it was overcooked, as he asked for rare. The other friend had the 3-meat roast choice and he said that the only one that was good was the chicken. All the vegetables seemed to have been sitting in a warming tray. They looked tired and were overcooked. This was such a sad review to write. We are not sure if we will return to this pub. Very sorry to say this.

One of my favourite pubs in weybridge. Nice outdoor area with heat lamps. Well priced menu. £135 meal for 4 including wine and beers.

Enjoyed Steak Day with some friends, great food, nice, friendly staff, allowed some substitutions. Lovely Pub food. Definitely worth a visit.

I came to this pub with my family (party of 13) and we all really enjoyed our meals, the staff were all incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. Would like to give a particular mention to Josh who went above and beyond! Lovely pub and delicious food, also worth mentioning great for Gluten Free!

We had the unusual opportunity to get the whole family together. Table for 12 of us, starting off in the garden for a few drinks before moving inside for a slightly late lunch. As you can imagine with 3 generations of the family, all with various dietary requirements we posed somewhat of a challenge. However we were spoilt rotten had excellent service and everyone's food arrived exactly as ordered without fuss. Superb experience thanks to Josh and his team.

What an excellent find this is! Our visit was on a Wednesday when the special of the day was pizza and beer or wine. The pizza's were large and enjoyed by us all. The atmosphere was buzzing and all tables full, so I recommend booking if you want to eat. Staff were friendly and professional.

We had the most delicious Sunday roast here, both of us had lamb and it was amazing. Gorgeous fresh vegetables, crisp roast potatoes and proper gravy. We will be back !

Recently moved to Weybridge and found the Flintgate have been 3 times for Sunday roast, once with all my family 6 of us & every time the food has been delicious with great portions , great friendly service, a very good find

If you're after a great quality no fuss dining out go here, good choice of dishes on the menu. Drinks menu expansive good quality home brewed beers.

Never been to The Flintgate before but I must say that it is a lovely pub with great bar staff and top food!! The menu options are very good and the food that we ate was excellent, served by a very welcoming restaurant team in the pub. We will definitely be returning!

Visited for dinner. Not overly welcoming. Ordered one starter and two main meals. After the starter had been taken away I was told the main I had ordered wasn’t available. Chose an alternative only to be told ten minutes later that they had run out of that dish as well. I don’t understand why I couldn’t have been informed when we were seated or upon ordering. Settled for a spicy pizza which was pretty plain and disappointing.

Ive visited this pub two or three times before & been very happy with the food. Unfortunately Easter Sundays lunch was not good on this occasion. We were a family of five adults, all having the roast. Well if you’re a big meat eater you will be disappointed!! Hardly any meat, over cooked beef, dry pork belly almost like a rasher of bacon, lamb minuscule Non existent cauliflower cheese. Very hard Broccoli. However our server was lovely. We would have stayed longer ordering dessert, but decided not to.

Great place and really local. The people there are extremely friendly and the bartenders are so nice.I suggest getting the cheeseburger as it is really moist and delicious and get the messy fries on the side. Everyone local would agree.

This pub has the best burgers I have ever tasted! I’m still thinking about eating it a few months ago! I wish they had a franchise near me in Kent / East Sussex! The pub had a great atmosphere, it’s clearly popular because it was rather full but in a great way where you can feel how happy everyone is. It has very nice toilet facilities which are clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful but the service could have been a little faster, though as full as it was I can imagine the staff were stretched to their limits. I hope to return one day soon to show my dad how delicious the food was. My friend had the hummus starter which looked like a full meal and she said it was wonderful too. The menu had many other enticing options.

Went to The Flintgate for a quick drink while staying over with work, ended up staying for a lovely steak with a green peppercorn sauce, which was more like a lovely gravy! I ended up chilling outside in this cool outdoor seating with a heater and a TV! 10/10 would recommend and come back again!

Great Sunday lunch. Nice atmosphere and busy so clearly popular! Really nice vegan mushroom Wellington too - and vegan desert choices. Not everyone has yummy food for us vegans so it’s much appreciated. Great for non vegans too! love it here.

Second visit here, the food is very nice but the service is just awful. A bunch of kids serving and more interested in standing round chatting than serving and customer service. We were made to wait 25mins to be seated even though we pre booked...

Popped in a couple times during my week of meetings with colleagues and it was always packed but still had a great atmosphere and amazing food and beer selection.

We'd been told that the Sunday roast at The Flintgate was amazing, but it was far from it. We went for a Mother's Day dinner as a family of 4. The services was terrible (got our daughters meal wrong, we had to ask for cutlery...

The fact I had to make an account to write this review, should emphasise the fact that this place really needs improvement. My only praise towards “The Flintgate” is the level of service which was great, from a friendly welcoming, a busy team working together,...

I don't like posting bad reviews, but this was honestly the worst pub/restaurant experience we've ever had. The food was cold, the meat was fatty and of poor quality and items were missing from the roast due to them having run out, of which we were not made aware of upon ordering. The service was abysmal, food that arrived was not what was ordered, with one meal having to be returned, several requests for cutlery also had to be made. We were only a table of four. Didn't get offered dessert or the bill, so approached one of the several staff standing around doing nothing. After asking a third member of staff, they raised our bill on the till, which I had to operate myself in order to pay it! All this with not even a hint of a care or apology from staff combined with disgusting toilets safety means a return visit will not be happening and a recommendation for friends and family to avoid! Would give zero stars if we could!

Excellent Sunday roast and range of drinks. Very pleasant staff and relaxing atmosphere.

Josh was a great waiter, he gave me brilliant service and he's a lovely guy. Because of him I will definitely come again.
