Barbie was amazingly chilled and fun during the Bank Holiday rush. We had a lovely table in a corner where we could spend some time putting the world to rights. Came for lunch on a busy Easter Monday, nothing was too much trouble. Barbie, our waitress, was particularly lovely - found a suitable table for us given we had a dog and continuously checked in to check we were happy with our meal etc. Not the first time we’ve had a great meal and great service here. Would recommend.

What a lovely roast dinner, although changing extra for gravy is a bit cheeky. The service was fantastic, Evie looked after us extremely well. This was our first trip out the house with our newborn baby and she made us feel very relaxed.

This is a rare gem in the middle of the countryside in surrey. My roast was prepared to perfection and the ambience was perfect for a Sun afternoon roast lunch.

A delicious lunch after a great walk in the local area. Holly, our waitress, was very attentive and friendly.

Very small portions, my food arrived cold and there was no apology. The rest of my party finished their meal while I sat without my meal. Very disappointed. Usually we visit regularly but I won’t be in a rush to go back.

Absolutely loved our Sunday visit to the Black Swan! The food was fantastic—especially the delicious ham roast—and the mocktails were just perfect. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and the service from Barbie, Steph, and the whole team was genuinely lovely. A wonderful spot for a relaxed and tasty Sunday meal!

First time visiting, having passed this pub on diversion for A3 closure we decided to come back to try it out the following weekend, and were not disappointed! The staff were great, warmly welcoming, attentive and friendly. Really great food! Some interesting/unusual dishes as well as standard options and specials. Dog friendly - with dog treats available to sample (and take home for charitable donation to Macmillan) Our ‘fussy’ dog loved them so much! We loved it - will return!

An all round wonderful experience. The food is top quality cuisine - a combination of healthy, fresh, tasty and generous with a touch of decadence! The ambience of the Black Swan is welcoming and cosy inside, as well as tasteful, fresh and spacious outside. The staff are professional without being standoffish and attentively available! Barbie you have created a beautiful place on so many levels! Magnifique!

Lovely roomy pub with lots of parking. Very good Sunday roasts plus inventive starters and sides. Good selection of desserts too. And charming service to boot. Recommended!

We had a large booking for 15 people to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and created a relaxed atmosphere. We had pre-ordered the food, which came out efficiently and was very well organized. They made us feel truly welcome and allowed us to enjoy our celebration without any stress. Highly recommended for group events!

It was all in all lovely, from the comfy seats to the different seating arrangements, we had lobster crumpet which was great. Perhaps a non smoking outdoor section would be useful

We tried booking at a different pub that had an AI booking system which was appalling so called the Black Swan instead (real people answer the phone). WOW, I'm so glad we did as the venue is exceptional both inside and out. Asta and Stef were attentive and accomodating, making sure we had a great experience. The food was exceptional and well priced. All in all I highly recommend this pub.

Amazing place great food, but I booked dinner on Sunday via website and they weren't able to host us because their website doesn't work, huge shame because I've been going here for years and such a let down for a special occasion for us. So for a heads up don't book on a Sunday after 6 because they won't host you, they also failed to contact us so we drove all the way there to find out our dinner was ruined.

We were served by the lovely Astra today for lunch. We had the most gorgeous meal in the sunshine. Everything was perfect! The roast was amazing and the chocolate bomb mousse - wow! Thank you Asta for amazing service today!

I was dreading coming because everytime I have been since 1996 the food and service has been questionable, But now!! Blimey, it was brilliant, delicious cheffy food and high standard intelligent charming and speedy service. Evie was lovely.

Nice pub, all staff were friendly and provided prompt service I had fish and chips which was nice but the batter was greasy and a bit off putting. Biggest shock was when the bill arrived. Two pints of Shere Drop £12.80. That's £6.40 a pint, I would say over priced. Did not like 12.5 per cent additional on bill for service with no option on bill to remove it. Service was good but the option to tip should be the customers. I normally leave 10 per cent. All in all a nice pub ,would go again but would only have one pint.

Lovely setting although the garden can get very noisy as the small B road adjacent seems to get used as a racetrack for supercars going home to Cobham.(Not of course the pubs fault).My only other problem is Estrella at £7.10 a pint when I only paid £6.10 in a London pub next to St Pauls cathedral the day before.Probably not rushing back for drinks. Can't comment on food but similarly adventurous pricing throughout.

A lovely welcome from the hosting team with great care and attention to detail throughout our meal. The food was really special and there was a great atmosphere; with the hubbub of other diners but we never felt crowded.

This is our second visit here. Our first trip was with a large group before Christmas, and the food was great, which made us decide to come back. Unfortunately, this time it was a completely different experience. We had the Sunday roast (chicken), fish and chips, and the kids’ fish pie. The best way to describe it is oily, underseasoned (essentially no salt), bland, and tasteless. We did bring it up with the wait staff, and they kindly offered a 10% discount, which was a nice gesture. Given that we had a good experience the first time, we might give it another try in the future, but likely not anytime soon.

We popped in for a quick lunch today whilst waiting for our son at a nearby party and were met by the most unexpectedly beautiful experience. On arrival, the first thing we noticed was the gentle and encouraging way in which a new staff member was being guided to perform tasks. We were then given freedom to choose a suitable seating place in the restaurant which made us feel truly welcome to make ourselves feel comfortable. On ordering our meal I was repeatedly undecided and the server was understanding and very friendly about my indecision. She was helpful in encouraging certain meal choices and when the food came we had clearly made excellent choices. The food was outstanding and I was given an additional side for free, as the server decided that it would make my meal complete. She was absolutely correct and we appreciated her generosity. The server was so warm and friendly that we got chatting and realised that she was the owner. This owner is clearly passionate about creating a truly intentional experience in her restaurant and I could not recommend a visit here more if I tried. The food was fantastic! The atmosphere, tranquil, warm and welcoming. The service absolutely exceptional. Don’t hesitate to support this restaurant as it was one of the most authentic, intentional dining experiences I have had in a very long time!
