Brilliant birthday treat, good food, excellent wine, great service. We will just have to come back again. Maybe there will be Arrancini next time!

Had a lovely top notch roast - served by Asta and Diana / lovely pint poured by Nathan as well! 10/10!!!

This is our second visit here. Our first trip was with a large group before Christmas, and the food was great, which made us decide to come back. Unfortunately, this time it was a completely different experience. We had the Sunday roast (chicken), fish and chips, and the kids’ fish pie. The best way to describe it is oily, underseasoned (essentially no salt), bland, and tasteless. We did bring it up with the wait staff, and they kindly offered a 10% discount, which was a nice gesture. Given that we had a good experience the first time, we might give it another try in the future, but likely not anytime soon.

Great Sunday roast, good atmosphere, nice place to be on a weekend!

Really enjoyed the new menu, steak was incredible and so was the prawn curry. Service was great - shout out to Evie for being wonderful. A really lovely (and dog friendly) environment.

Holly did very well on her first day! Great personality, attentive and a winning smile. Just needs to relax a little more - which will come naturally over time. Thank you and good luck

Amazing chicken sandwich, server was very friendly, Barbie was incredibly kind, hospitable and friendly. She was very bubbly and livened up the atmosphere!

We popped in for a quick lunch today whilst waiting for our son at a nearby party and were met by the most unexpectedly beautiful experience. On arrival, the first thing we noticed was the gentle and encouraging way in which a new staff member was being guided to perform tasks. We were then given freedom to choose a suitable seating place in the restaurant which made us feel truly welcome to make ourselves feel comfortable. On ordering our meal I was repeatedly undecided and the server was understanding and very friendly about my indecision. She was helpful in encouraging certain meal choices and when the food came we had clearly made excellent choices. The food was outstanding and I was given an additional side for free, as the server decided that it would make my meal complete. She was absolutely correct and we appreciated her generosity. The server was so warm and friendly that we got chatting and realised that she was the owner. This owner is clearly passionate about creating a truly intentional experience in her restaurant and I could not recommend a visit here more if I tried. The food was fantastic! The atmosphere, tranquil, warm and welcoming. The service absolutely exceptional. Don’t hesitate to support this restaurant as it was one of the most authentic, intentional dining experiences I have had in a very long time! Barbie was so friendly from the moment we stepped in the door. Very knowledgeable of the menu which helped us make good choices from the menu. Food was fresh, good quality and very tasty. We will be back.

Barbara the manager is great and the food is impeccable especially for lunch and dinner, staff are incredibly polite. One of the nicest pubs I’ve been too. Diana is a delight to be around such a jovial character. Leo is the main man however a young waiter but with plenty of knowledge and exquisite service skills. Asta is a full of energy and always focuses on customer service, so attentive.

Great pub, lovely Sunday roast and brilliant staff. We had a pre-booked celebration meal today with over 40 people (Adult and kids) and I can't recommend this place enough. Over 40 meals served together, all perfect and everyone left very happy. Thank you to all the staff who worked very hard in making everything go smoothly.

Visited the pub for the first time as part of a friend's baby shower. Lovely atmosphere, staff and food. They looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed which was really appreciated as it was a big group. Highly recommend you visit if you're in the area. Defo coming back. Went for classic car meet, lovely sunny day for cars and breakfast baps, only one thing no vegan or veggie options

I had a wonderful time at the Black Swan. Diana and Asta at the bar were fabulous and it was lovely to see Barbara managing the place splendidly as always. The leek and potato soup was especially delicious.

Barbie’s service was brilliant. Very attentive. Brilliant food. Will be returning for sure!

The atmosphere was amazing.. Asta was very accommodating and very kind, she offered great recommendations, and was very helpful.. the chef, Atilla, produced a great steak and accommodate off menu requests with fabulous results. I would highly recommend visiting here

I cannot rate this little Surrey gem enough. I have been a patron of this pub most of my life and have had some of my biggest events there! My fiancé and I chose to get engaged at this beautiful venue and the lovely Barbie and her team made it totally magical! The food is always superb, the service second to none and the atmosphere, one of a kind. Barbie, you are amazing and your team are an absolute credit to you!

This was a large group multigenerational lunch. The food was good, the service friendly and attentive and the space reserved for us allowed us to relax in our own space.

Very quick service, the staff were very friendly and helpful, our waitress being Barbara was wonderful. A very calm atmosphere with a brilliant cuisine. All around I really enjoyed it.

Good food, and excellent service (on a quiet and rainy Wednesday night in Feb). Have also visited in the Summer and sat outside, which is pleasant. Service is a bit slower when busy. The duck pie and the cherry crumble were both tasty. One point to beware of: If it has been raining heavily, there can be VERY large puddle across the whole of the road on the approach from the North East (Ockham Lane and Plough Lane).

Wonderful as always. Extra warm welcome from Barbie. I loved the seafood curry, perfect Saturday lunch. Gorgeous pre-lunch coffee outside in the Winter sun.

We’ve always loved this venue and the food this evening was the best we’ve had here and tops the bill amongst the best anywhere. We recommend the bar snacks and the outstanding dessert menu. Great atmosphere with a log fire and friendly service.

Food & service were both top, particularly given it was a Monday lunchtime. Think our team member was called Barbie, and she was a joy. Thanks, will be back.

Amazing food, lovely vibe, and excellent service!

I had fish and chips, along with a flat iron steak. The elements were good, particularly the curry sauce served separately with the fish and chips; it was a deliciously mild curry, I think it was squash-based. Really good idea. However, about one-fifth of the chips were undercooked, which was quite strange. Additionally, the mushy peas were brown. Skin on fish which is maybe a personal preference to have it skin off - maybe I expect too much? As for the flat iron steak, it was bland, and my wife mentioned that she struggled to chew it, feeling like she ran out of energy trying. The cabbage was amazing but overall the best elements were lacking execution - wanted normally write a review but felt it may help

Lovely lunch with my two teenage lads. Two cracking burgers, good steak and three drinks- hundred quid inc tip. Thought that was fair.

We came as a family meet up with 8 people for Sunday lunch. We enjoyed excellent customer service from the warm welcome and superb serving staff. We can highly recommend the shared camembert and baked bread for starters and the Pork roast was excellent with crispy crackling. We will be back! Thank you!!!

Wonderful lunch at the Black Swan today. Barbie was a superb host really taking care of us and others in the restaurant (great at upselling us to the maple carrots too!). The rest of the staff were efficient and kind. Food was really good. I loved the beetroot humous and would order that again tomorrow 😍 Thank you all for a lovely lunch.

What a wonderful place to have a meal. We were welcomed by Barbie who made us feel at home straight away. The food was tasty, and Barbie’s suggestions were great. I particularly liked the heritage carrots. The beetroot humous was delicious also.

Came here today, Valentines Day 2025, having passed it by many times whilst travelling to a favourite dog walking area. We had a lunchtime meal from a Valentine Specials menu. The food and the service were excellent and we will definitely be coming here again.

I can't speak highly enough of the team at The Black Swan. We had a party for my sons 9th birthday after laser tag locally and they were fantastic. We had 30 people but I think 6 steaks came out perfectly cooked as requested all at the one time. Jude our waiter was exceptional. He took perfect care of us with a lovely happy attitude and was so helpful with the cake and catering to the 15 children ever whim. The food itself was excellent and everyone left happy. Many thanks again to Barbara and her excellent team!
