Don't eat breakfast if you're coming for Sunday lunch, the meals are huge and deserts are delicious!

The food was fabulous, the drinks however were extortionate, 2 Jugs of half filled pimms were £80, when we queried it, we were told it was correct ! Plus there were drinks on our bill we hadn't even had ! Shameful!

Nice pub with a garden. Music by 'John Lennon' was great. Didn't eat.

The meal was excellent, and service exceptional. It was a bank holiday Monday and there was a singer in the garden singing Beatles songs which made the afternoon even better.

This pub offers a varied menu for lunch and dinner. I took my wife here today for lunch, hidden, quiet and off the beaten track. Large garden to eat outside and friendly bar staff.

Live locally and have visited every now and again but I won’t return. This place has got steadily worse. The service is appalling and unfriendly without any management in sight. If you’re lucky enough to get food you may be told you need to wait 1.5hrs as the kitchen can’t cope with volumes. Wine was not refrigerated and no ice available but they served it anyway. Eventually got some ice when staff went to buy some. Place is grotty with dirty tables left uncleaned but if you like toddlers and babies around the place while you have a drink this is the place for you. Shame as such a great spot and could be great if someone actually cared about customer service.

Friendly and good value for money

Two hour wait. ….. For a sad burger. No cultlery. No napkins and an really poor attitude to customer service I like this place but when they are busy they lose the plot entirely. I judge a Restaurent on how they handle mistakes and they really disappointed today

Lovely lunchtime visit for a group of seniors. Very tasty food with generous portions. We had excellent service from Max who was helpful, friendly and patient. Would definitely recommend this characterful pub and I’m sure we will return.

So good for kids to run around outside. Our 3 year old didn't want to leave. We hadn't booked and the manager told us we'd have to wait before ordering lunch because of reservations they had later in the day. Book ahead!

We have visited twice this week and had a lovely time both times and only complaint....... the burger should come with a side salad! Something to fill thr plate To be fair I asked for a little bit on the side and got some. But was told next time I'd have to pay for my salad. (Chefs decision not the waitress) a side salad is £3.50 which seemed excessive considering I just wanted a little salad. Rant over Waiters and waitresses are friendly! Dog friendly pub! Advertised lovely menu, but that's not available Friday or Saturday night. Just burgers or pizzas. Also, no coffee!

Historical local Public House. Very well run, extensive selection of drinks, solid pub food menu with attentive service.

Absolutely delicious fish tacos and a gorgeous garden with lots of tables. The only negative is the rather leisurely service. But would definitely go back! Such a find.

Last minute Sunday lunch request for table of 13. So welcoming & helpful on the telephone from Imogen. And what a magnificent find! Of course the wonderful weather helped but sitting outside was delightful matched by excellent food including a mixture of Sunday roasts, fish, vegetarian meal & burgers. Everyone was immensely satisfied & accompanied by excellent service. Highly recommended

Me and my 2 friends ate here last Monday. We hadn’t been in ages. We were greeted by lovely bar staff. Our food was absolutely delicious. I had mushroom and truffle soup. 5 stars from me! My friends ordered a Caesar salad and peri chicken and fries. We were all so impressed with our food. Lots of attention to detail, beautifully presented and simply delicious. There was a friendly atmosphere. The staff really looked after us. They were delightful. Fab value for £’s! We can’t wait to return. Thank you.

I went with my daughter and son in law for my birthday lunch . The booking procedure was really good and you get a reminder which was really helpful A really nice table in the bar area and though it was a Monday there was a really good buzz about the place which is always a good sign Really friendly staff and the manager on hand to help with a choice of wine Food was excellent and the service could not be faulted. Really lucky having such a place on the doorstep. I love the historical connections which still survive in the atmosphere Thoroughly recommend.

Dog friendly pub with good food.

The superb Nia and her team make a visit to Marney's a special pleasure. The food is delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented; the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Our lunch was perfect and such a treat.

Our first visit. Friday night. Limited menu, orders arrived in the wrong sequence, staff looked bored, and seemingly unsupervised. Stuck in a corner of a dreary bar, our conversation drowned out by the beer drinkers. And having travelled all the way from Richmond on the recommendation of friends (who have only ever been for lunch) it was underwhelming.

Lovely seating area outside. Plenty of parking nearby. Nice food...something for everyone. Friendly staff.

Been here a few times and it’s a nice little pub in quite a quiet location. It’s a bit dark if you’re on foot in the evening, but it gives it a nice ambience. The garden is a reasonable size, but a lot of tables were reserved which is disappointing for a pub. The car park was also quite busy when sat near it so it’s better to be away from there and in the main garden. The drinks were fairly priced and service was quite prompt at the bar. A nice little spot of an evening, although inside is small if outside is not an option so not much seating if needed.

Delightful un-gentrified old fashioned proper pub, really really good food and beer at prices that are not exorbitant! What's not to like?

Nice location but very unpleasant experience here. Ignored by staff on arrival, and when we eventually got someone’s attention we were told that pub is fully booked and can’t offer food - bear in mind that this is a half empty pub on a Sunday afternoon… Locals only sort of vibe, very disappointing

Visited with friends today. Absolutely appalling service. We waited over an hour for our food, in fact we were just about to leave when the food arrived. The food when it did actually get to us was good. Another long wait to pay the bill, which thankfully I checked as by mistake they charged me £32 instead of £3.20 service charge, obviously a typo as they were so understaffed and running around in circles. We will not be returning.

A great spot in the secret garden for a birthday party for 40 friends and family. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Although a very rainy late afternoon the staff ensured we were all kept dry and warm. The garden bar was fully stocked and ran by a very capable, professional and helpful Holly. The bbq food was hearty, hot and tasty. Thank you Mia for organising everything.

A beautiful and friendly pub nestled in the outskirts of London. We sat out in the pub garden on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was great, I would definitely recommend a drink if you are in the local area.

Cocktails on Saturday night provided by Holly were amazing, very good standard.

Visited yesterday for a friends gender reveal and had great service and friendly staff. I was particularly impressed by Holly in the outside bar where she made an amazing drink with proseco and elderflower. Will be most certainly returning to this great location and fun atmosphere. Many thanks

Booked a table outside. But when we arrived our table wasn't even there so they had not reserved one. They gave us one that someone hadn't turned up to. Not exactly the welcome you expect. Music was so loud when we sat down we couldn't hear eachother. Feel sorry for the houses on this road. Surely there has to be a clause in their licensing for live music and the volume. We left shortly after arriving. I would describe the pub as a prob needing a bit of work inside. Floor was filthy inside. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend.

Feels like you are in the countryside. Very relaxed. Manages to be both a local and a place to go to for a pleasant change.

The food was very good but we waited a very long time for it. We waited an hour and the pub wasn't especially busy.

Food was lovely. But got the impression the main lady (assuming she is Marney) does not like anyone who isn’t a regular customer. Polite enough but not warm or friendly in the slightest, no smile or niceties, quite the opposite to how she was speaking to the locals. Young girl behind the bar was very sweet however. Such a shame as the pub itself was nice and surrounding greenery looked pretty. Will not be returning again.

Love this pub as closest to my front door and have been going for 25 years. Anniversary dinner with darling wife was underwhelming with very slow service despite pub not being Uber busy! Would have walked had it not been the fantastic customer service by a lady who was on point about the delays and managed this perfectly. Either need more staff in kitchen or reviews unlikely to improve! Food was good when it did arrive!

Nice friendly staff, good choice of beer (London Pride excellent) and a nice, but some might say, limited menu. Opted for the Chilli Crab with Linguine, very nice. Asked for some bread to mop up the lovely Chilli Crab juices which duly arrived. Other food options looked good and seemed to be well received. Tuesday evening visit so not overly busy inside, tables outside being utilised on this pleasant sunny evening.

Visited with family for a relatively spontaneous lunch (we booked 2 hrs before). Lovely garden, very welcoming staff and the food is incredible. Four of us had the home made cheese and bacon burger with fries - huge portion and absolutely delicious. My son had thechilli crab linguine and loved it too. Kids unbelievably had space for sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was also home made and super tasty. Our server had an incredible memory as she didn't write anything down but the order was delivered perfectly, there was a little wait for food as it's all freshly made to order but it was worth the wait! Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

Whilst most locals know about Marney’s, it’s off the beaten track so undiscovered by most. And a good thing too, or I’d never get a table !!! Came here on a date this time and simply had a selection of starters to nibble whilst we chatted. Everything was very tasty and nicely presented. Good service - unless you want to get a drink from the bar, which is generally monopolised by a handful of arrogant ‘regulars’ with zero concept of waiting their turn.

More than impressed with this little find. The parma ham, artichoke with truffle oil pizza was very good indeed. Good selection of beers and staff were pleasant and helpful. Quite busy, garden had room but lots of chatter and laughter which was welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near.

As always Marneys is a lovely pub in the sunshine, you can’t beat it! The food was gorgeous, actually the best ribs I have ever had! Thank you very much!

A lovely country pub with good, friendly staff. Particularly in the summer months when the garden is more accessible. A good range of drinks and the food is excellent .

First visit here over the Bank Holiday Weekend. I was surprised how quiet it was. Once we eventually got our food it became obvious. Not great quality and very poor service. Won’t be rushing back.

Hoping to start my reviews on a high I started here. BIG mistake. The beer selection is a bit old fashioned but you can’t argue with the quality and in fairness the locals were pretty friendly. That was unfortunately the highlight. The service was terrible with the pub seemingly run by teenagers. The burger was something akin to the ones you’d get from an illegal burger van on Westminster Bridge. I notice that they were advertised as handmade!!!! If that’s the case (which as a former chef I very much doubt) this is not the career for you. Other menu options were available but I didn’t see anyone else eating. If you fancy a pint then it’ll do the trick but if you’re after pub grub, hopefully I will you find some better alternatives.

Been here a few times but our first visit for some food. Not a great start as although the sun was out the garden was closed (for seeding). The menu (when we eventually got one) was different to the one on the pub's website and unfortunately didn't have what we wanted. The service was shocking with the young staff having little interest. The burgers were enormous but really poor quality with very little taste. The pub itself has plenty of friendly locals, which is just as well as they seemed to be doing most of the glass clearing while the staff chatted away oblivious to this part of the job. Fortunately it wasn't busy so service at the bar was swift. Overall it's a nice pub, there is limited choice of (newer) beers but i'd defiantly avoid the burgers.

Unbelievable staff and food, always looked after

Evening drinks/meal with old school friends. A good, quiet location and warm and welcoming with friendly staff and a good menu (a little above the normal pub fare). Only (small) criticism was the rather limited range of cask ales with nothing from any local breweries.

Haven’t been to marneys for a while, and I don’t know why not. The food was next level, we all had Sunday Lunch which is honestly one of the best I’ve had. Don’t know why I haven’t been here for a while, already rebooked for next week. Well done 👍🏻

Booked for dinner as we had heard so much about how good the food was here Arrived into a warm cosy pub with a real fire and candlelit tables we were then shown through to what I can only describe as a cold damp dirty tent The wedding vibe circa 1980 had garden couches with damp dirty cushions the curtains on the tent were knotted up as they were dirty and damp there was no heating When we asked for heating a hot blower was switched on the type that heats industrial places which we had to shout over that went off and we waited while the temperature plummeted for it to come back on Marneys are you seriously suggesting that I am to pay the same money as the people who are inside the pub and gain the same experience by sitting in the damp tent ? We didn’t have dinner we left and if I want to repeat the experience I will be getting the garden furniture out and sitting in my own shed

We had a birthday lunch party at the restaurant today. Food was good and the service was excellent. Great place to go but please be beware that the front of the pub have stall areas, possibly just at weekends. We were unfortunate enough to encounter...

Lovely pub hidden away from the path of most people. The food is pretty much always spot on and it is beautifully presented in a traditional decor with lovely staff. Worth a visit if close by.

I've very picky about Sunday roasts ... and yesterday was sublime. Perfectly cooked beef, Al dente vegetables, really flavoursome roast potatoes, crispy Yorkie and jug of gravy without asking for it. The best in a very long time. But please don't come it's hard enough to get in 😀

Whilst I’ve drunk at Marney’s many times, for some reason, I’ve never eaten there . . . . and I have no idea why not. All three of us were very impressed with our meals and the wines we drank.

We had a wonderful family Sunday dinner today at Marney's Village Inn. There were eight of us in total ( plus a dog ) Mia was very accommodating of all of our needs. The food was fantastic ( we all went for the roast and Mushroom Wellington) with very generous portions. We'll definitely be back 😉

Super popular and deservedly so. It was cold in the garden until we got a lovely table inside. Heating is expensive but you won't go without it for long.
