Unfortunately the Ossest Blonde was poor had to take it back, which is unusual for Ossett.

Absolutely banging sweet potato fries ate outside on bench’s I found to be appropriately placed xx

Went mid week so it's was quiet naturally, good selection of drinks and menu looked OK as well although didn't eat. Nice old building and would go back there.

We booked a table on a wednesday for Friday arrived on 10th May 2024 and was informed that there was no chef. The Fleece inn did not notify me earlier that there was no chef and we travelled all the way from south London extremely disappointed with the Fleece Inn

Partner said his steak pie was the best he'd ever had!

We ordered the 3 small plates plus wedges and onion rings. This included creamy garlic mushrooms, beer buttered strips, mozzarella sticks. The chicken was succulent, with a crispy outer coating, served with sweet chilli sauce, bbq sauce and mayo. The garlic mushrooms were cooked to perfection in a very creamy, garlic sauce served with 2 pieces of delicious toast and real butter (wish we'd ordered 2). The wedges tasted home made. The mozzarella sticks were delicious. If I could give more than 5 I would. We also had wine wich was 14% deliciousness.

Too much wine but gorgeous building

Really nice place, had a drink in the lovely beer garden then went to our table inside. Placed order around 6pm, and there were a few orders in front of us, which was fine. However we ordered 5 meals (one was childrens). One came out, 25 minutes later, another and the childs, then 50 minutes after the first meal came out, 2 more came out. We did mention it to a waitress in passing who said "so sorry, we've had a rush on for food" This trip, however was for a birthday, and it would have been night for us to eat together. Typically the birthday girls was one of the last meals to come out However, the food was lovely, and my steak was cooked perfectly The staff just looked really young and were running round like headless chickens and trying too do everything, and nobody seemed to manage the place. I would try this place again, but maybe not on a Saturday afternoon.

Food is beautiful was ap delicious, I would certainly recommend as before it was a cheap eatery place food frozen it was rubbish like the management but NOW WOW home cooked food delicious, so so nice and most of all nice staff welcoming and caring. But food picked up a takeaway today that nice

Always friendly, this time we only popped in for a couple of drinks. We have had meals there in the past & they are always amazing

We have always called in here for food with previous owners for thr past 10 years. But today we ordered food and the 5oz gammon steak was literally a thicker piece of bacon it's never seen a gammon steak it's literally 40 mins for a piece of bacon. Really disappointed £10.50 it was a pure let down. They never even came out or offered to change it . The bar man said he'd look into it and nothing so we won't eat there again.

Food has improved from the last owner but personally for me there's not alot on the menu. Outside area where the sheds are isn't good, kids always down there. Walls falling down in garden, kids climbing frame is well outdated and needs work. Always too many kids in thereunder the place is rife with drugs, so obvious it's shocking. Used to be a family pub now its just get anyone in to sell beer. A place I wil be avoiding till it turns around.

Lovely pub haunted too, staff are very welcoming as is the lovely fire place. Not tried food here yet but it always looks an smells amazing. Everything is reasnobly priced too.

Floor is very uneven as it's a very old building. Beware for older people with sticks

Great local and historical pub. Good reasonably priced food available with the Sunday lunch especially well recommended. Wide selection of beers and wines available at a reasonable price. There is a huge beer garden to the rear with plenty of facilities to keep the kids occupied!

Great staff except for the bar manager Lisa heard her bad mouthing customers and other staff behind there back and her 14 year old daughter is serving alcohol behind the bar !

I book a table for 7 people today 25th August, The experience was fantastic, everyone agreed the meals were served hot and delicious,the service we received was 100pc I would recommend the Fleece Inn anytime

Ok I'm not usually driven to give on line reviews .my wife prevented me from complaining direct as she did not want any fuss on her birthday £20for aburger and lobster tail which was a single very small claw and not a tail . 2 Ash browns on the burger clearly left over from breakfast bone dry burger no cheese no pickles Aspall tub of frozen fries which they claim are 3 times cooked nonsense and what looked like pulled brisket a thougley terrible meal my wife paid £18 for 3 pieces of brocoli which were raw 3 breakfast mushrooms again from breakfast 5 small tinned potatoes my bill with a average bottle of wine £65 and to think I traveled from bakewell for this very misrepsented rubbish food visits 2 1 really good the other seriously bad but ha don't take my word for try it if you have £65 to waste or save yourself the tremendous just put your money directly in the bin same place as this food should be

Very old pub with lots of character in the heart of Elland. Very reasonable prices and a vast selection of drinks. Friendly and helpful bar staff. Unfortunately we waited far too long for the funeral tea to arrive, even though they were prompted more than once. We had only eaten breakfast and it was 4pm before the food materialised which was a shame as loads of guests had already left.

Popped in for a Sunday lunchtime pint to show my lady what a nice pub it is. Full of character great beer good food

Expensive but good food, service, nice setting overlooking the valley, caters for all occasions, weddings, birthdays etc, book for these as very busy.

Not many beer options on tap other than the most common and commercial lagers. A better selection in cask beers would be much appreciated as it is what you expect from such a traditional pub. Great prices for Sunday roast

Do not go in to this pub if you are exempt from wearing a mask as you will get verbal abuse from  a couple of weirdos and the staff will then tell you to leave. Lovely place!!!

A friendly efficient service and covid awareness.

Is it a 15th century building..? A rambling venue well appointed, of a little quaint. Staff were strict about covid awareness but very friendly with it. The real ales were very well kept... the cider crisp n fresh. Wish we were able to stay much longer.

Great place to go and eat. Great location and also great views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Had a great meal well recommend to everyone.

Extremely disappointed in the service, food took a hour, now that would have been acceptable if the food was nice or even just cooked, my salmon came raw, when the lady returned with my food it burnt my mouth as they just put my plate in the microwave and heated the salmon till it was cooked through, the carrots wasn't even cooked, i didn't end up eating any of my food and we sat around for a further 20 minutes for my daughters ice cream and jelly but decided it wasn't worth waiting any longer so we left without eating puddings as did the customers before us, i would advise everyone to avoid ordering food from here, the pub itself is nice and the larger was good but 100% stay away from the food. seen as it will not allow me to reply to your comment i would like to explain, so yes the salmon was first cooked in the oven but when I explained it was raw they 100% placed the plate in the microwave, it came back to my table in 2 minutes piping hot and the cream cheese was completely gone as if was cooked on such a high heat and another thing, i actually removed the pastery off because it wasn't cooked, when the plate returned it was thrown back on top and it was cold, also the couple in before us left without pudding that they paid for as did we, due to poor food quality, if you can't accept feedback then you will never improve.

An interesting public house with an interesting history takes you back in time and well worth a visit the menu was affordable also a pleasant atmosphere with a nice outdoor garden

The Fleece is a seventeenth century pub with wonderful architecture. Food and ale quite good too.

Turned up there on my birthday for drinks and a family get together which there was about 20 of us but because my daughter wrote a poor review about the food and attitude of the staff she was barred from entering the premises so we weren't allowed in oh well there loss wont be going there again
